This is the 2024 Jetour X90 Plus SUV . A total of four models were launched on November 8 in China with a price range of 101,900 – 126,900 yuan (14,000 – 17,400 USD). Jetour is a brand under Chery .

The X90 SUV was first launched in 2019. The X90 Plus is a facelift of the X90 launched in 2021. The size of the 2024 Jetour X90 Plus measures 4858/1925/1780 mm, and the wheelbase is 2850 mm. The new car is available in five exterior body colors and runs on 18-inch or 19-inch wheels.

Both five- and seven-seater layouts are offered. The seats are made of imitation leather. The high-end models come with 6-way electric adjustment for the driver’s seat while the top-end models come with heated front seats and ventilation functions for the driver’s seat. Furthermore, the second-row seats can be adjusted at multiple angles from 25° to 41°. The five-seater offers a standard trunk volume of 1130L.

A 60-inch panoramic sunroof is also present.

The front face is decorated with a large octagonal waterfall grille. The rear incorporates a silver decorative strip to connect the through-type taillights on both sides, coupled with two exhaust outlets at the bottom, which further highlight the sportiness of the vehicle.

The interior adopts a dual-screen design consisting of a 12.3-inch central control screen and a 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel. The three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel is wrapped in leather material. At the same time, ambient light strips are added to the door trims on both sides, and wireless charging is supported on the center console for the top-end models.

Other configurations include autonomous parking, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring.

The powertrain is equipped with either a 1.5T or 1.6T engine, mated to a 6MT or a 7DCT. The 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 115 kW and a peak torque of 230 Nm while the 1.6T engine has a maximum power of 145 kW and a peak torque of 290 Nm.

What's New for 2022?

The G90 sedan carries over to 2022 with no significant changes, but a major redesign is on the way for 2023.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The price of the 2022 Genesis G90 starts at $76,045 and goes up to $79,795 depending on the trim and options.

Normally we love a big V-8 in a luxury car, but in this case we'd stick with the twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6 and save the money. The 3.3T, as it's known, is gutsy and nearly as quick as the 5.0-liter V-8. All-wheel drive is optional should you need it, but it adds $2500 to the bottom line.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The base turbocharged 3.3-liter V-6 setup with 365 horsepower is an overachiever, matching the acceleration of the 420-hp 5.0-liter V-8 from zero to 60 mph in our testing. Both powertrains pair with a responsive eight-speed automatic transmission and offer either rear- or all-wheel drive. We don't see any reason to pay extra for the less efficient V-8, unless you prefer its more relaxed, old-school character and distinctive sound. Although the G90 doesn't accelerate as rapidly as its competitors, neither the V-6 nor the V-8 engine will leave you wanting more power. Quietness and cushiness reign supreme, and the Genesis can feel a bit sloppy as you push the pace through a road's curvy bits. Its soft and pillowy ride evokes thoughts of Buicks from the 1970s, but not necessarily in a bad way. It smooths out rough roads and imparts a serene, planted feel on the highway. The trade-off is a fair amount of body roll in corners, but precise and light steering keeps the heavy G90 from feeling like a total boat. Its brake pedal is not as firm as we'd prefer, but it's not overly mushy, either.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

Some of today's modern luxury barges achieve impressive efficiency, but the G90's fuel-economy numbers are average. The optional V-8 is especially thirsty, but in our testing the V-6 overachieved its EPA numbers. We saw 27 mpg on our 200-mile test route; that's 10 percent better than its EPA highway number, but it falls well short of the real-world highway fuel efficiency demonstrated by the Cadillac CT6 and the BMW 7-series. Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

Trimmed in nappa leather, suede, wood, and brushed metal, the G90's interior has a rich feel, even if its design is understated. Genesis embarrasses higher-priced competitors by making features such as heated and cooled front seats, a head-up display, and a power-operated rear sunshade standard equipment rather than costly options. As befits a full-size luxury sedan, the G90's plush rear seat is a lovely place. There's plenty of room to stretch out, despite what its dimensions may suggest. Neither the Genesis nor any of its competitors offer folding rear seats, so the capacious trunk is all the cargo space you're going to get. There is a pass-through behind the rear center armrest for carrying long, narrow items such as skis. Its center console is among the largest in its class, but its door pockets are small. A handy compartment in front of the shifter is nicely sized for holding a smartphone.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The standard 12.3-inch touchscreen is crisp and clear, and its central control knob combines with hard buttons and knobs on the dashboard to make navigating the various menus a cinch. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are both standard, as is a wireless smartphone charging pad and a 17-speaker Lexicon stereo system.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

Every version comes standard with lots of driver-assistance technology . Competitors from Mercedes-Benz and BMW require you to pay thousands of dollars extra to get these features. Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. As metro is the main means of transport in Moscow – fast, reliable and safe – having some skills in using it will help make your visit more successful and smooth. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.

RATES AND TICKETS

Paper ticket A fee is fixed and does not depend on how far you go. There are tickets for a number of trips: 1, 2 or 60 trips; or for a number of days: 1, 3 days or a month. Your trips are recorded on a paper ticket. Ifyou buy a ticket for several trips you can share it with your traveling partner passing it from one to the other at the turnstile.

On every station there is cashier and machines (you can switch it to English). Cards and cash are accepted. 1 trip - 55 RUB 2 trips - 110 RUB

Tickets for 60 trips and day passes are available only at the cashier's.

The cheapest way to travel is buying Troyka card . It is a plastic card you can top up for any amount at the machine or at the ticket office. With it every trip costs 38 RUB in the metro and 21 RUB in a bus. You can get the card in any ticket office. Be prepared to leave a deposit of 50 RUB. You can get it back returning the card to the cashier.

One turnstile at every station accept PayPass and payments with phones. It has a sticker with the logos and located next to the security's cabin.

GETTING ORIENTED

At the platfrom you will see one of these signs.

It indicates the line you are at now (line 6), shows the direction train run and the final stations. Numbers below there are of those lines you can change from this line.

In trains, stations are announced in Russian and English. In newer trains there are also visual indication of there you are on the line.

To change lines look for these signs. This one shows the way to line 2.

In 2022, the band reached deep into their archives and dug out “ Extras: The Infinite B Sides and Bonus Songs”  which is a must for any Purple superfan.

However, what we found most interesting was the band’s latest record of original music, 2021’s bluesy, New Orleans-y  “Turning To Crime.”

Featuring epic rock (“7 and 7 Is”) as well as lively party startin’ tunes (“Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu”) and covers from B.B. King (“Let the Good Times Roll”) and Cream (“White Room”), the album is certainly a departure from the hard rockers’ heavy fare they’re famous for.

Still, for our money, the best track on the record is the Southern-fried rock and roll number “Oh Well.”

We’ve been listening to it on repeat all day.

After over 50 years together — they formed in 1968 — the core of Deep Purple remains the same.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.

An excellent read! Thanks for much for sharing the Russian metro system with us. We're heading to Moscow in April and exploring the metro stations were on our list and after reading your post, I'm even more excited to go visit them. Thanks again 🙂

Colombia police arrest 73-year-old American for giving "cannabis tours" in his home

In a new type of "travel high," an American was arrested on Tuesday by Colombian police for allegedly offering $30 "cannabis tours" to tourists in his home. 

The 73-year-old man advertised on social media and a website for foreigners to visit his house in Sabaneta, a town south of the city of Medellín  in the northwestern part of the country, Colombian national police said in a statement. 

He also distributed flyers advertising "Cannabis Farm Tours" given by "Cannabis Jimmy." The materials said "free samples" would be distributed during the tours. Approximately 2-8 people were on each tour, and reservations were required.

The tours lasted 2-3 hours during which the man taught visitors "the process of planting, caring for, harvesting, and maintaining this plant," police said. He also sold tour-takers marijuana for $20 a gram. 

Police said they confiscated 1,380 grams of marijuana during the arrest. They did not identify the man, only saying he is an American.

Colombia has long struggled to control the trafficking, manufacturing and/or possession of narcotics within its borders.

Late last year, the Colombian Navy intercepted a shipwrecked boat carrying 33 kilograms of cocaine and 744 kilograms of marijuana.

The South American nation is the world's largest exporter of cocaine – almost 90% of the cocaine sold in the United States each year arrives from Colombia.
