Meaning of Wand’rin’ Star by Lee Marvin

The song "Wand'rin' Star" by Lee Marvin explores the theme of an individual who feels a deep sense of restlessness and a yearning to constantly wander and explore. The lyrics convey a sense of being born with an innate inclination to wander, as the repeated line "I was born under a wandering star" suggests.

The song begins by emphasizing the individual's affinity for movement, highlighting how wheels are made for rolling and mules are made to pack. This wanderlust is further emphasized with the line "I've never seen a sight that didn't look better looking back," indicating a longing for past experiences and perhaps a dissatisfaction with staying in one place for too long.

The lyrics continue to contrast the hardships of life on the road with the limitations and emotional struggles of staying in one place. While mud can make one feel trapped and the plains can be unbearably dry, the true pain comes from human interactions. People have the ability to make one cry, suggesting that the emotional toll of relationships often outweighs the physical discomfort of constant movement.

The chorus repeats the idea of being born under a wandering star, further reinforcing the idea that this restlessness is an inherent part of the individual's nature. The lyrics then touch upon the notion of heaven and hell, positing that heaven is found in the freedom of parting ways ("goodbye forever"), while hell lies in the brevity and constraints of greetings ("hello").

The final verse speaks to the individual's longing for a sense of homecoming and the paradoxical nature of dreams. The lyrics suggest that home is a place to come from, rather than a static destination one arrives at, and dreams of going to new places often symbolize escapism rather than actual fulfillment. The repetition of the chorus closes the song, affirming once again that the narrator was born under a wandering star, destined to continue seeking new horizons.

Overall, "Wand'rin' Star" explores the inherent desire for freedom, the bittersweet nature of wanderlust, and the contrast between the hardships of a nomadic life and the emotional struggles of staying rooted in one place.

Bradley Cooper Was Completely Mesmerized Watching Lady Gaga Sing “Shallow” During ‘A Star Is Born’ Table Read

i was born wandering star

How good was the latest iteration of A Star Is Born?

The original film was released way back in 1937, starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, and was remade in 1954, starring Judy Garland and James Mason, and then again in 1976 with Barbra Streisand and country music’s own Kris Kristofferson.

However, the most recent edition, released in 2018, received rave reviews as it was full of powerful performances and great music. Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Sam Elliott, music with Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell, and others… just an all-star collection of talent all the way around.

The film garnered five nominations at the 76th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, as well as a whopping eight nominations at the 91st Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Only the song “Shallow” took home the win, earning Lady Gaga , Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando and Andrew Wyatt an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Of course, before the project even came to life, the entire cast gets together, along with other important people involved in making the movie, to do this little thing called a read through (or table read) where they basically run through the entire movie for the first time to get a taste of how it sounds off the page.

From there, they make any necessary adjustments to the script, switch up some lines, change the approach, cut out the boring stuff, etc… before they begin filming.

Anyway, during the table read for A Star Is Born,  you have the entire cast there, around 50-something people in the room and Gaga belts out “Shallow,” completely a capella, dropping everybody’s jaw right through the table. Figuratively, of course…

Just look at the way Brad is looking at her, and that sheepish smile at the end, the shoulder rub… that’s the picture of man (making his directorial debut) who is inspired. Not to mention a round of applause from the entire room.

Check out this incredibly unique look behind the scenes:

Sam Elliott Earns First Oscar Nomination

In 50 years of acting, this is the first time Sam Elliott has ever heard his name mentioned alongside “Oscar nominee,” and his response was pretty hilarious. He joked in an interview with Deadline:

“I think the thing off the top of my head might be, ‘It’s about effing time.’ Beyond that, it’s really about the work. It’s just about the creative process. It’s great to be recognized for that, that’s really all it’s about.”

He was nominated for his role as Jackson Maine’s brother and manager Bobby in the critically-acclaimed movie  A Star Is Born,  which received a total of 8 Oscar nominations including Best Picture.

Elliott has starred in, among others roles,  Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Up In The Air, Road House, Big Lebowski  and the popular Netflix series  The Ranch.

Despite, his impressive career, Elliott remains humbled.

“I think my biggest takeaway is just how fortunate I am. Number one, to still be in the game, but to have an opportunity to work with two people like Bradley and Stefani (Lady Gaga), it’s just extraordinary. Fifty years into the game and all of a sudden to have anything to do with this, to be connected with a film like this, it’s just a wonderful gift.”

Well deserved.

Tiny Dog Found Wandering Around L.A. Becomes a Sitcom Superstar After Lucky Chance Encounter (Exclusive)

Noel the rescue dog went from being alone in the world to being the star of NBC comedy 'Lopez vs Lopez.'

i was born wandering star

Guin’s Movie Menagerie

Noel is undeniably a star, but the dog took an interesting journey to reach her celebrity status.

Jubel Chen, first met Noel when the dog was a scruffy young pup wandering around Los Angeles.

Around Christmas 2017, Chen, an animal trainer with Guin's Movie Menagerie, was in downtown L.A. working on a shoot with several dogs when "someone handed her" a skittish, scruffy dog they found on the street.

"They asked, 'Is this one of your dogs?' because we were doing a shoot down there, and we said, 'No,' but we'd take her and see if we could find her people," Chen tells PEOPLE.

Chen and her coworkers put up flyers searching for Noel's owners and took the canine to a vet to have her scanned for a microchip; neither avenue turned up an owner for the tiny dog.

After spending weeks searching for Noel's family, Chen found that the little pup had "kind of grew on" her, especially with "her little face" and "grandpa eyebrows." Guin's Movie Menagerie decided to adopt Noel, who was around six or seven months old in 2017, and have Chen by the pup's trainer.

Chen thought Noel's unique appearance was "a great look for Hollywood." But before Chen could make the dog a star, she had to ensure her new pet wanted fame first.

For six months, Chen trained and socialized Noel to help the dog gain confidence and determine whether she was interested in being a celebrity.

"She took a little bit because she was kind of skittish. She was a little worried about things. She's a little dog, so it's always a little more intimidating for little dogs because everything's bigger than you," Chen says of Noel's early training.

Eventually, Noel realized, "She's too cute not to be in the business," and started showing interest in tricks and performing.

"It took her about six months before she was like, okay, I think you can do this," Chen says.

Not long after taking the leap and starting auditions, Noel booked her first job in a commercial for Meijer.

"It was a whole Christmas spot with her in it. She was a little dog named Lily. She runs outside, runs around the neighborhood, gets lost, sees Santa, and finds her way home. It was a commercial all about her, and it was her first job," Chen recalls.

Since then, Noel has appeared in numerous commercials and TV shows like Modern Family and Reboot . In 2022, Noel landed her biggest role yet, the canine star of the NBC comedy Lopez vs Lopez .

In the show, Noel plays the family dog Churro and stars alongside George Lopez and Mayan Lopez. Over the years, Noel has embraced her star quality, which is on full display in the show, according to Chen.

Debby Wolfe

"When she goes to set, she is a little diva," Noel's trainer says.

"She'll walk onto set and wag her tail like she owns the place, and then people come and pet her, and she acknowledges them without acknowledging them," she adds.

Lopez vs Lopez 's human cast adores having Noel on set. Not only is she a poised and professional scene partner, but she is also a calming presence to anyone looking for a cuddle. Plus, Noel loves the attention.

"She likes to go there," Chen says of Noel's reaction to the Lopez vs Lopez set. "We get there, and I take her out of the car, and she's the first one at the stage door; she leads me to the stage door. I think she likes everybody saying hi to her. She gets to be the center of attention."

Before filming begins, Chen works with Noel to ensure she is comfortable with each episode's events.

"We protect her as much as we can so that she understands that everything is okay because she doesn't know that all of this isn't real. We make sure we rehearse and rehearse," Chen says.

"If someone's going to come running in a room, or scream, or dance around and be silly, we like to be aware of that, so we know it's going to happen, and then we show her that it's going to happen," she adds.

Six years after welcoming Noel into her life, Chen is amazed by the confidence the dog has developed.

"She's gotten super confident and is not scared of strangers. She'll walk up to people and wag her tail," the trainer says.

Noel also "rules the roost" at home, where Chen cares for a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and pigs.

Never miss a story — sign up for  PEOPLE's free daily newsletter  to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

Chen hopes that Noel's success story encourages others to give rescue animals a chance. The animal trainer says that about 95 percent of the animals she works with are rescues, and all the animals have been exceptional performers when given the chance to shine.

"All the animals at shelters and rescues need some time and socialization. Have patience with them, and they turn out to be amazing pets. They feel it, and they will give it back to you. I feel that with all of my animals. If you treat them well, they will be super grateful." Chen says.

Astronomers finally know why stars born from the same cloud aren't identical twins

"The universe loves diversity!"

A yellow orb and a white orb in space. There are a few planets scattered around.

Oddly enough, binary stars born from the same parental cloud of collapsing gas and dust aren't always identical twins. It's possible they even possess different kinds of orbiting planets. But, why would that be? Well, astronomers may finally have an answer.

Despite our familiarity with a single-star system, thanks to the sun's isolated lifestyle, an estimated 85% of stars exist with a stellar companion. These so-called binary stars are born from the same cloud of gas, meaning they presumably share the same chemical compounds — and meaning they should have almost identical chemical compositions and the same types of planetary systems .

Yet, this isn't always the case.

And, using the Gemini South telescope located in Northern Chile, a team of scientists has discovered that differences in binary stars occur as a result of variations in chemical compounds of the vast molecular cloud that births them. This information helped the crew confirm, for the first time, that differences between stars can originate from before the stars even began to form.

Related: Like the 90s, binary stars are back in style

"By showing for the first time that primordial differences really are present and responsible for differences between twin stars, we show that star and planet formation could be more complex than initially thought," Carlos Saffe, team leader and a researcher at the Institute of Astronomical, Earth and Space Sciences (ICATE-CONICET), said in a statement.

When do twin stars begin to differ?

Prior to this study, scientists had posited three possible explanations for why stars born from the same cloud could vary. Two of these theories suggested that changes to the stars occurred long after formation.

One idea suggests random thermal movement of atoms in the binary stars could result in a process called "atomic diffusion," which would lead the atoms to settle in gradient layers, a process governed by the respective star's temperature and surface gravity. Thus, for stars in binaries with different masses and temperatures, this would explain the variation seen in chemical composition seen between the stars. Alternatively, one star in binary could eventually swallow one of its orbiting rocky planets , thus adopting some of that planet's chemical elements and introducing a variation of chemical composition.

Yet another possibility, however, is that variations in a star's composition result from primordial regions of chemical non-conformity in the giant molecular cloud that eventually births the binary stars.

Scientists have thus far found all of these explanations are possible; their studies have focused on stars in their main-sequence lifetimes . This is the period during which stars such as the sun convert hydrogen to helium in their cores, and it accounts for most of a star's lifetime.

To assess these different explanations for variable characteristics, Saffe and colleagues used the new Gemini High-Resolution Optical Spectrograph (GHOST) to study the different wavelengths of light, known collectively as "spectra," of two giant stars in a binary system called HD 138202+CD−30 12303 located around 1,720 light-years away from Earth.

"GHOST's extremely high-quality spectra offered unprecedented resolution, allowing us to measure the stars’ stellar parameters and chemical abundances with the highest possible precision," Saffe said.

A reddish hazy view of space with two blue areas representing birthing stars.

The team found the stars of HD 138202+CD−30 12303 have deep and turbulent external layers called "convective zones," which allowed them to eliminate two of the possible theories. That is because the continuous swirling of these convective zones would prevent the settling of material through atomic diffusion, and the fact these are thick external layers means the engulfment of a planet would have a major impact on a star's composition as the ingested material would rapidly be diluted.

This leaves the primordial difference theory.

"This is the first time astronomers have been able to confirm that differences between binary stars begin at the earliest stages of their formation," said Saffe.

 —  Star-mapping Gaia spacecraft spots a pair of Jupiter-like planets

Beyond revealing the secrets of binary star variation, the team's research also has ramifications for why these stellar bodies are sometimes seen with such different planetary systems, with different stars influencing planetary evolution around them in different ways.

"Different planetary systems could mean very different planets — rocky, Earth-like, ice giants , gas giants — that orbit their host stars at different distances and where the potential to support life might be very different," Saffe said.

Furthermore, by showing how stars with different chemistry can surely come from the same gas clouds, the results may also provoke astronomers' to revise the way they identify stellar origins based on chemical makeup.

Scientists may also need to rethink their understanding of stars that had previously been suspected of engulfing an orbiting planet , as signs of this violent process on the surfaces of stellar bodies may, in reality, just be a result of how a star was born.

The team's research was published on Monday (April 29) in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics Letters.

Rescue dog similar to the canine star on NBC’s “Lopez vs. Lopez.”

Dog Wandering California Streets Becomes Lopez vs. Lopez Star

By Zahrah Patel

Once just a stray dog wandering the streets of Los Angeles, Noelle found her way into stardom on NBC’s comedy, “Lopez vs. Lopez.” Jubel Chen, an animal trainer working for Guin’s Movie Menagerie, came across Noelle during a downtown L.A. shoot around Christmas 2017 when a passerby mistook the lost dog as part of the filming crew. Taking Noelle in, Chen’s initial search for her original owners led to a heartwarming adoption story that eventually propelled the little dog into a successful career in Hollywood.

Los Angeles rescue dog gets lucky, becomes Lopez vs. Lopez star

Initially skittish and unconfident, Noelle, who Chen estimates was six or seven months old when they first met, quickly became a cherished member of the household. Sensing the dog’s potential, Chen embarked on a six-month training program to help Noelle gain confidence and assess her interest in a potential entertainment career. It wasn’t long before Noelle demonstrated a knack for tricks and performance, setting her on the path to her first job in a Meijer Christmas commercial.

Following her commercial debut, Noelle went on to feature in several TV shows, including “Modern Family” and “Reboot.” 2022 marked a significant milestone in Noelle’s career when she clinched a starring role in the NBC comedy “Lopez vs. Lopez” as Churro, the beloved family dog of George and Mayan Lopez. Chen has shared how the canine star has embraced her role, often acting like a “little diva” on set. “She’ll walk onto set and wag her tail like she owns the place, and then people come and pet her, and she acknowledges them without acknowledging them,” Chen says.

The twins’ home-run sausage is fueling their eight-game winning streak.

CHICAGO – The Minnesota Twins are no stranger to unique home-run celebrations . Last season, the team introduced a fishing vest and toy fishing pole to the dugout, a nod to the state’s 10,000 lakes.

This year, it’s none other than a midwestern delicacy — the summer sausage — fueling the Twins’ eight-game winning streak.

Recommended Videos

In Thursday’s matchup against the White Sox , the Twins faced a 2-0 deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning. Then, hitting coach David Popkins brought a Cloverdale Foods tangy summer sausage into the dugout and beckoned his players to tap it before they hit.

The presence of the sausage ignited a flurry of hits, including back-to-back homers from Edouard Julien and Ryan Jeffers in the same inning. After Carlos Santana homered in the eighth, Jeffers tossed the sausage to the first baseman on his return to the dugout and the home-run celebration was born.

“It was a bad toss, I needed to get it a little higher,” Jeffers said. “So, we’ll work on our alley-oop skills.”

Since then, the sausage has been by the Twins’ side, and they have plenty of success to show for it. After sweeping the White Sox, Minnesota went to Los Angeles where they totaled 32 runs and 45 hits to win three straight against the Angels . They beat Chicago 3-2 on Monday when Max Kepler had a tiebreaking single in the ninth inning.

The sausage has been traveling with the team in a Ziploc bag shoved into a shoe. When it comes to their upcoming games in Toronto, it’s unclear whether the sausage will make it through customs — though Jeffers is confident they can find a way.

In contrast to other MLB dugout celebrations, the Twins choice is unfortunately perishable. Jeffers said they’re working on locating a fresh sausage for every series.

“It’s bringing us a lot of hits and runs, so I’m all for it,” said Twins manager Rocco Baldelli. “I’m slightly concerned that the package is going to open up. The thing hasn’t been refrigerated in many days, and there’s no doubt that when that thing opens up whoever’s touching it is in deep trouble.”

Jeffers echoed Baldelli: “He doesn’t want another epidemic. We don’t want the Minnesota Twins' sausage to start a world-wide crisis.”

So far, it’s hard to tell whether the sausage will supersede the vest in its good luck capabilities. Jeffers said the team hasn’t learned enough about the sausage yet, and they need to get more in touch with it to see what it’s going to provide them.

“It’s the idea of the sausage. It’s the meaning behind the sausage,” he said. “We’re going to learn more about the sausage as the games go by.”

When asked if he thinks the sausage lore would distract his players from improving upon where they were a week ago, Baldelli didn’t seem concerned. He emphasized how the sausage has fueled a “winning mindset,” which is benefiting the Twins now.

“The season’s too grueling and baseball’s too hard of a sport to not have fun once in a while, right?” Jeffers said.

'blended harmony' at history theatre unearths tuneful history of the first asians on broadway.

How Leslie Li's grandparents met is the perfect opening for a Hollywood meet cute story.

Teenage Polish immigrant Michalina "Lena" Wojcik was walking across a Minneapolis bridge when a gust of wind took her very first paycheck in America from her hand. She chased it across the span, but the wind kept carrying it just out of reach.

The chase was finally stopped by the foot of a handsome young man who was crossing the bridge from the other side. Louie Shear Gim, a teenage immigrant but from China, picked up the check and handed it to a grateful Lena, stopping her palpitations for one pursuit but starting them for another.

The two would eventually marry and have six children. The oldest four — Alice, Maggie, Jenée and Bubbles — formed the Kim Loo Sisters, the stage harmonizers who in 1939 became the first Asian American act to have a revue on Broadway.

Now their trailblazing story is being told for the first time onstage in the musical "Blended 和 (Harmony)," which premieres Saturday at St. Paul's History Theatre in a co-production with Theater Mu.

"They were part of American entertainment history but never thought of it that way," Li said by phone from her home in New York. "It was always, 'Gotta get a gig, or Mama's gonna be pleased, or where's our next meal coming from.'"

Li wrote about her mother and aunts in "Just Us Girls," a family history published in 2015. The e-book, which chronicles their history from sharing stages with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Jackie Gleason to entertaining troops for the USO in Europe, came reluctantly.

When the sisters gathered for family events at Easter and Christmas, they would not speak of any of it. But they would occasionally break out into four-part harmony, Li remembers. And sometimes when her mother, Jenée, was waxing the kitchen floor, she would also tap dance.

"We [children] would go, what's going on here? And they would say, 'Oh, we were onstage at one time,'" Li recalled. "But they never said Broadway, and they never said that they were in 'George White's Scandals,' which ran for 20 years on Broadway."

Jenée spent 16 years singing with her sisters — from age 4 to 20 — before leaving to marry for love. Her groom was the son of the vice president of China.

Suzie Juul, Morgan Kempton, Kelsey Angel Baehrens and Audrey Mojica play the Kim Loo Sisters in “Blended 和 (Harmony).

A shared American story

Such history was deeply inspiring for the "Blended Harmony" creative team of playwright Jessica Huang, New York-based composer Jacinth Greywoode and director Lily Tung Crystal, artistic director of Mu. But they had a problem. How do you narrow down a story that's akin to colorizing a whole album of old black-and-white photos?

Well, go deep into the entertainment, the thing that brings smiles to faces. The musical fills in the gaps of history and brings new dimension to our understanding of the past, Huang said.

"There are so many things about this show that are right in the pocket of things I'm called to write about," she said. They include interracial marriage, immigrant families impacting American history and virtuosic Asian American artists.

While there are four sisters represented in the musical, the descendants of Alice did not care to have her story be part of this show. So there's a fictional Sophie, played by Suzie Juul, in the place where Alice would be. The other Kimmies share the real names of the sisters, with Kelsey Angel Baehrens playing Jenée, Morgan Kempton as Maggie and Audrey Mojica as Bubbles.

"This is an opportunity to uplift a very American story of marginalized women doing amazing things on the Great White Way, pun intended," Greywoode said.

The issues the Kimmies confronted nearly a century ago sound uncomfortably contemporary. Frankly put, they faced a lot of anti-Asian hate, Tung Crystal said.

That climate has a long history. The Page Act of 1875 prohibited forced laborers from Asia from entering the United States and effectively banned Chinese women as "immoral." Chinese men were banned in 1882 by the Chinese Exclusion Act.

But a natural disaster would be used to circumvent discriminatory immigration laws. The 1906 San Francisco earthquake ignited a fire that destroyed countless public birth records. Enterprising China-born men already in the U.S. would say that they were citizens and that they wanted to reunite with family members, with brokers often creating false documents to facilitate the process.

Gim, the son of itinerant cobblers born near what is now Guangzhou, China, was one of these "paper sons." He arrived by ship at age 9 to Vancouver, then moved to Seattle before making his way to Minnesota.

"He must have been in his early teens when he came to Minnesota and was hired as a dishwasher at the Nankin Café," Li said.

The Kim Loo Sisters performed at Loew's State Theatre on Broadway in New York City, circa 1943.

A (stage) dream comes true

Her grandmother came from the other side of the world — Poland. She was probably 12 years old but got a cheaper fare in steerage by saying she was 10, Li said. After landing at Ellis Island, she took a train to join her sister in Minneapolis.

In the old country, the women in Lena's family worked as seamstresses and dressmakers, and the men as bootmakers and musicians for minor aristocracy. Li imagines her grandmother watching a ball through a keyhole and feeling excluded.

"She vowed that one day that my children will be wearing my gowns, and they'll be dancing onstage for people to see," Li said. "Then she comes to America where she believed her dreams can come true."

Lena poured everything, including her own dreams, into her kids, making their dresses and costumes, and serving as their manager and chaperones. The more famous Andrews Sisters, to whom they often were compared, lived in the same Minneapolis neighborhood.

The temptation is to make a comparison, and to call the Kimmies the Asian Andrews Sisters but that's not quite right, Huang said. "They were talented in their own right."

Musically, the Kimmies went from early jazz to swing to the sounds of the 1950s, and that's the span that's represented in "Harmony."

Greywoode said that he was interested in using the touchstones from history to create sounds that we might hear today. And he has been mindful to not get into a pastiche of Orientalist clichés.

Because part of the story is about how Asian Americans were exoticized, Greywoode said, he "had to work to calibrate the sort of gross music at the time that became popular. We want to highlight the archetype but not continue to inflict harm now."

But all of these serious and historical concerns should not obscure a central fact of "Harmony," the creative team insisted.

"These women were full of jokes and spirit and light," Tung Crystal said. "There's a lot of joy here."

New star wars series redefines the sith's power with the "dark legend of darth ravi".

The Legend of Darth Ravi will soon be revealed in Dark Horse Comics Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures - Echoes of Fear, revealing new Sith lore.

  • Sith Lord Darth Ravi's legend will be further explored in Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures - Echoes of Fear #1 in August.
  • The Echo Stones and their Force-amplifying effects will be a central focus, showing a new side to the Sith mythos in this era.
  • While the Sith have been mostly absent in The High Republic, this comic brings forth a new villain with terrifying powers.

A new Star Wars High Republic era story will expand on Sith mythos in Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures - Echoes of Fear . The dark side Force wielders have been largely absent within this era, which is a trend that could still continue. However, a new Sith Lord legend will be revealed this August involving Darth Ravi.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures - Echoes of Fear #1 has the creative team of George Mann, Vincenzo Federici, Vincenzo Riccardi, and Comicraft. It is set to reveal more details about Darth Ravi, a Sith Lord previously mentioned very briefly in The High Republic Adventures - Quest of the Jedi (2023).

The Echo Stones and the effects they have, such as Force-amplification, are currently being explored within Star Wars' High Republic era. The Echo Stone seen in Quest of the Jedi amplified darkness on the planet of Angcord, requiring Master Vim and Padawan Bly to save the planet from the dark influence.

"Light and Dark Are the Same": The Force's Most Terrifying Enemies Show How Star Wars Can Move Beyond Palpatine

A new sith legend is born in star wars: the high republic.

Dark Horse Comics will explore the legend of Darth Ravi further, as Reath Silas and Padawan Azzazzo explore the Jedi archives. Series writer, George Mann, has written several Star Wars High Republic titles, including The High Republic Adventures - The Nameless Terror and The High Republic - The Battle of Jedha . The primary foe to start the era was the Nihil, but several threats have popped up throughout each phase, adding to the galaxy's dangers. Many mysteries involving the Force have also been unveiled, such as Force artifacts and Jedi traditions. The synopsis for Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures - Echoes of Fear is as follows:

Jedi Knight Reath Silas and Jedi Padawan Amadeo Azzazzo are charged with delving into the Jedi Archives to learn more about the mysterious Echo Stones and their Force-amplifying powers. In their search, they uncover the dark legend of the ancient Sith Lord, Darth Ravi, and his quest to solve an ancient puzzle that could grant him power beyond imagining...or destroy him utterly.

This addition to The High Republic is set to release in August, bringing a late summer adventure to Star Wars' comic lineup. It will come out just before Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures - Crash and Burn #1 and after an issue of The High Republic Adventures (#9). Given how little is presently known about Darth Ravi and his desire for the Echo Stone, this issue will have a lot to offer in terms of Sith and Force Artifact lore, which could effectively rewrite their power and potential.

The High Republic Has Been Lacking Direct Sith Conflict

With the Nihil at the forefront, the Sith haven't been seen as much during The High Republic . At this time, they should be operating under Darth Bane's Rule of Two after the Jedi-Sith war in the Old Republic era. To start the High Republic, the Jedi have generally believed the Sith to be gone; thus far, the main presence of them in the comics has been Sith artifacts and Darth Krall. Keeping in theme with the mystery during this era, Darth Ravi likely came before the High Republic, considering the Echo Stone was hidden from him on Angcord before 382 BBY.

Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures - Echoes of Fear #1 will be available on August 21 from Dark Horse Comics.
