"My job is to make sure everyone has a good time and every night is a different experience," the mother of four-year-old twins said.

Jennifer Lopez (born July 24, 1969) is an American R&B, pop and Latin music singer, best known for her smash hits “Jenny from the Block” and “All I Have”, hailing from The Bronx, New York, U.S.

Prior to pursuing music as a career, Jennifer Lopez trained in musical theatre before making her on-screen debut with a modest role in the film “My Little Girl”. Whilst the album earned little critical attention it cemented Lopez’s acting dreams and she subsequently performed in productions of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Oklahoma” before becoming a Fly Girl on the TV show “In Living Color”. Following further appearances in the films “Selena”, “Blood and Wine”, “U Turn”, and “Antz”, Lopez released her debut music single “If You Had My Love”. The debut record shot to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making her the first person to have a debut No. 1 since Britney Spears, and raised the anticipation for her full-length.

The studio album “On the 6” was released in June 1999 praised for its R&B, pop and Latin influences. Spawning the subsequent singles “No Me Ames”, “Waiting for Tonight”, and “Feelin’ So Good”, the record propelled the already popular Lopez to household name status. The full-length “J.Lo” followed in January 2001 marking a change in image for the singer with a move towards a more sexualised style. The album topped the Billboard 200 aided by the singles “Love Don’t Cost a Things” and “Play”, the same week her film “The Wedding Planner” debut atop the box office.

In February 2002 the signer issued the remix album “J to that L-O! The Remixes” led by the single “Ain’t It Funny (Murder Remix)". Dedicated to her partner at the time Ben Affleck, Lopez’s third studio album “This Is Me… Then” was released in November 2002. Debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, the record draws influence from the likes of Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder and spawned the singles “Jenny from the Block” and “All I Have”. Following acting appearances in “Maid in Manhattan”, “Gigli”, and “Shall We Dance?”, the signer released her fourth studio album “Rebirth” in 2005.

The full-length “Como Ama una Mujer”, Lopez’s first Spanish-speaking album, was issued in 2007, produced by partner Marc Anthony and Estéfano. Debuting at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, the record topped the Billboard Top Latin Album chart, and allowed Lopez to represent her Puerto Rican roots. Also in 2007 the singer released the album “Brave” led by the singles “Do It Well” and “Hold It Don’t Drop It”. Despite disappointing sales and chart placing the record earned positive reviews and features production from longtime producer Cory Rooney and Bloodshy. The full-length “Love?” arrived in 2011, followed by “A.K.A.” in 2014, which spawned the singles “I Luh Ya Papi”, “First Love”, and “Booty”.

Live reviews

JLo’s Concert was just amazing! After seeing her sing at the world cup opening ceremony with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte I was expecting a BIG show, and she exceeded my expectations! She was able to change her costume more than 8 times, just imagine. She appeared on stage lowering down from a rounded platform that opened like a flower, and directly began singing her new big hit I Luh Ya Papi, everybody just started dancing. Seeing Jenny live in concert is just like a big party, fans dance so much, because really it’s impossible not to move your feet! She kept moving around the stage, full of energy. When you stopped bouncing and moving your hips, she would just surprise you singing one of her famous songs and would cheer you up again, non stop. Come on you should have seen the reaction when she started singing Jenny from the Block, the crowd just went crazy. You can really see that she’s been in the game for many years because she naturally knows how to engage with her audience.

Staging is one of her strengths, there was a Tropical theme decoration, and all the dancers were dressed up in hawaiian clothes. With The Brazilian World Cup fever she just created a nice ambience for a cool summer concert. I even bought a pineapple T-shirt from her tour, I had such a good time that I wanted a souvenir :)

If you love to dance, party, or just have a good time, you MUST go and see J-Lo live. I haven't danced so much at a concert before, ever, and it was the most fun. Her enthusiasm and energy encourages the audience to get involved, sing along, and just have fun. She's a wonderful performer as well as vocalist, and watching her energy is so refreshing. She played for an hour and 15 minutes, maintaining her intense energy and fab perfromance throughout, and I think we were as tired as her by the end of the concert! As well as a flawless performance, she looked fantastic and engaged with the audience, proving that as well as a tallented superstar, she is a genuinely down to earth lovely person, although she has released a whopping 10 albums! As well as being a great performer, J-Lo is a working mom, entrepeneur, and actress, juggling her careers admirably. An artist who will give a great performance every single time. Yes, tickets may be expensive, but they're really worth every penny.

jlo's concert was definitely an unforgettable experience. The whole show was stirring up a nuclear in the pit of my stomach.

She's definitely one of my favorite all in all people as she's very multitalented. Her improvisation, dancing, singing, and clothing definitely turns heads and never fails to impress. Her story and how far she came to how she's improved herself and her music is inspirational to see how Jenny from the Block came to be this independent Jennifer Lopez we all have come to know and love today.

She never fails to satisfy us in all the genres she creates tunes in appealing to us on all our song playing devices and some songs so relateable you can't help but to sing and dance along to her beats. She started off with mixtapes and continued into big named record labels but is still down to earth and generally humble. Watching her live is definitely worth the splurge and you'll definitely enjoy it.

I have been a huge fan of Jennifer Lopez since I was little girl dancing in kips bay in the Bronx and I use to see her picture on wall because she was a fly girl on in living color at the time. It was always my dream to meet her and see her in concert. I had one of my dreams come true and it was so much more then what I expected and I got to share it with my daughter too!

This show was a 50th birthday gift, and it was nothing short of amazing! JLO truly gives all she has to her fans! From the different sets, costume changes, choreography, just the entire production is phenomenal! If anyone has the opportunity to take in a Vegas show, JLo: "All I Have" is definitely the one! I would rate it 5 stars!!!!

Jenny from block delivered on the dance floor serving us glitter and glam but I wish there was less of the new material and more of the hits, after all we we’re celebrating her 50th birthday and what better way than to showcase her repertoire.

Fans buy all $800 tickets to meet Jennifer Lopez on Australian tour

DESPITE the outcry on Twitterverse, cashed-up Jennifer Lopez fans have bought all the $800 tickets to meet her on her Australian tour.

CASHED-UP Jennifer Lopez fans have exhausted the first batch of $800 tickets to meet the US celebrity on her Australian tour.

The pricey package includes a premium ticket (worth $300) to J-Lo ’s Australian tour in December.

Only 20 meet-and-greet tickets are being sold for each J-Lo concert – half of those were made available in this week’s presale.

Insiders say the demand for the $800 tickets was overwhelming, disappointing many who missed out on buying them.

The rest go on sale on Tuesday when all the remaining tickets for her national tour are made available to the public.

J-Lo is the latest in an increasing line of artists putting a monetary value on meeting fans at live shows.

In May New Kids on the Block charged $820 for VIP packages that guaranteed front row seats and an individual photo with the reformed boy band.

Canadian hardcore band Alexisonfire are charging $236 for fans to meet them on their farewell tour in December.

Acts including Bon Jovi, Janet Jackson and Prince charged up to $1800 for VIP tickets and merchandise packages that got fans close to the stage without actually meeting their heroes.

Paul Cashmere of music website Noise 11 said it was a new way for artists to make cash in an era of declining record sales.

"It's supply and demand," Cashmere said. "If people weren’t willing to pay for it, it wouldn’t happen. No one is holding a gun to music fans’ heads.

"The VIP meet and greet ticket is generally an artist add-on, not a promoter one. Fans are willing to pay for the chance to rub shoulders with celebrities and as celebrities sell less music, they have invented a new revenue stream in the `meet and greet’.”

"There are people out there with what we consider to be more money than sense but to them it makes a lot of sense because they get to mingle with their favourite star, even if only for a few minutes.

"The photo of them with that star lives forever and in business it is simple to assign a value to that."

Jennifer Lopez unveils This Is Me ... Now tour: Here's when Jenny stops by our block

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Jennifer Lopez is going all out with her "This Is Me...Now" rollout, unveiling a North America tour just hours before dropping her first album in a decade.

The "Let's Get Loud" singer will kick off her tour June 26 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Fla., before making her way across the country, including multiple stops in Southern California. Lopez confirmed her tour plans with a "Today" show appearance Thursday morning.

"Of course, gonna do a bunch of new stuff, which I'm excited about," she said. "I've already seen the stage. It's going to be epic."

The This Is Me ... Now tour will mark Lopez's third headlining tour. She will begin serenading her SoCal fans on July 11 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. On July 13, the "Hustlers" singer-actor is set to take over Honda Center in Anaheim. Later in July, she'll bring her music to San Francisco and Sacramento, then return to Southern California on July 19 for a show at Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs.

The Bronx-born Grammy nominee will play her hometown show on Aug. 16 at New York's Madison Square Garden. Currently, her tour is set to conclude Aug. 31 at Houston's Toyota Center.

Presale registration for advance tickets began Thursday. More information about the shows, including additional dates, can be found on the singer's website .

Lopez, 54, has touted "This Is Me ... Now" as a follow-up to her 2002 release, "This Is Me ... Then." Like her junior album, "This Is Me ... Now" taps into Lopez's high-profile romance with director-actor Ben Affleck. The "Gigli" co-stars dated in the early 2000s and planned to marry but called off their engagement. In 2021, the couple rekindled their romance and secretly wed in Las Vegas a year later. Since then, they have appeared together at red carpets and Hollywood events , and most recently collaborated on an ad for Super Bowl LVIII .

Lopez, who has been married four times, is well aware that she is a serial romantic, and she taps into her history for the musical film "This Is Me ... Now: A Love Story." The 65-minute spectacular is a visual companion to her forthcoming drop. Written by Lopez and Matt Walton, "This Is Me ... Now: A Love Story" is a star-studded, abstract take on Lopez's romantic journey. It is also just one part of her self-financed multimillion-dollar roll-out.

Lopez's "This Is Me ... Now" lineup now touts an album with a 13-song track list ("Dear Ben Pt. II," "Mad in Love"), a musical film, a documentary about making said movie, and now a nationwide tour. Lopez is getting loud for her love — and she doesn't mind what critics will have to say.

“I think when you put out any project, you get to a point in your life where you’re not doing it for every single person in the world to have the most beautiful opinion of it,” she said in a recent interview with Variety. "I do think this is a beautiful project. The message is strong and the message is true. I think it’s a true piece of art, and I’m very proud of it.”

Jennifer Lopez's Tour Has Some Pretty Bleak Ticket Sales

This follows her latest album debuting at #38 on the charts.

Natasha Jokic

BuzzFeed Staff

Jennifer Lopez appears to have slightly rebranded her tour amid low ticket sales.

The tour follows Jennifer's $20 million self-financed three-part multimedia series, which included a visual musical film and the documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told . The album, titled This Is Me... Now , failed to garner commercial success, debuting at #38 on the Billboard album charts.

J.Lo first announced her tour in the middle of February, initially touted as the This Is Me... Now tour. A week later, another three shows were added . However, in mid-March, several tour dates were quietly removed without explanation — though Entertainment Weekly reported it was due to a "logistical issue through the promoter."

Yesterday, Variety noted that the tour's name had been changed from This Is Me… Now to This Is Me… Live | The Greatest Hits. The publication cited low ticket sales as a possible reason for emphasizing J.Lo's back catalog.

So, how bad are the ticket sales? Let's look at the Ticketmaster sales for the opening night in Florida, where blue denotes unsold standard seats and purple denotes resold tickets for sale.

Let's consider J.Lo's hometown gig, which is Madison Square Garden. Here are ticket sales for Aug. 16:

The next artist to play at the Garden is Tate McRae on Aug. 22, where only resale tickets are available:

Fellow Super Bowl performer Usher will be the next arena artist on Aug. 20. He has also sold out all tickets, bar resales.

Well, if you've ever wanted to see J.Lo live...now is a good time.

Update: a source close to jennifer told buzzfeed that the updated name is simply part of the tour's "updates and news along the way, as with any tour." they further said, "this conveys the jennifer lopez live experience in case there was confusion that this tour is an interpretation of the amazon original that she created or singularly with the music from the album.", share this article.

Jennifer Lopez is well aware that her kids are growing up fast.

Lopez said she is still "negotiating" with her kids about when they'll join her on the road, but she's hoping it'll be for the month of July. Her tour runs from June through August in support of her latest album, "This Is Me... Now."

"I'm gonna use the last little bit of force I have on them to be like, 'You have to come at least for a little while,'" she added. "Hopefully they'll acquiesce to that."

Before heading out on tour, Lopez will walk the carpet at the 2024 Met Gala as one of this year's co-chairs.

While she couldn't reveal anything about her outfit, the "Let's Get Loud" singer did tease that she'll be "barely" able to walk in it.

When is the Met Gala? What's the theme? Who is going?

Composite image of Kim Kardashian, Doja Cat, Lady Gaga and Rihanna at the Met Gala

The Met Gala is happening tomorrow.

It's arguably one of the biggest fashion events of the year, with designers showing off some of their boldest designs using the biggest pop culture figures as models.

Here's what to expect.

What is the Met Gala?

On paper, the Met Gala is a fundraising dinner for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art (better known as the MET) in New York City.

It coincides with the opening of a new exhibition in the gallery.

But it's essentially a big fashion event where celebrities dress up in elaborate outfits .

It's run by Vogue , the major international fashion magazine.

The event itself is private, with a strict no-phone and no-social-media policy.

But the guests' journey between being dropped off to entering the building is extremely public, with hordes of photographers capturing the arrivals.

It's not like your usual Hollywood awards night red carpet — the outfits tend to be pretty outlandish.

Celebrities typically team up with fashion houses to create a look that fits into the dress code, which changes every year.

It's almost a competition for who can be the most creative and extra, except there are no awards.

When is the Met Gala?

The Met Gala is held on the first Monday of May each year.

This year, that falls on May 6.

What day is the Met Gala in Australia?

It'll be Tuesday morning  in Australia when the guests start arriving in New York.

We'll be covering the whole thing, with a live blog kicking off tomorrow morning so you can follow along as the stars arrive and the memes take over the internet.

And we'll have a mega-wrap of the looks for you to scroll through a little later in the day.

What time is the Met Gala in Australia?

The whole thing kicks off at 6pm in New York.

On our side of the world, that'll be:

  • 8am AEST: ACT, New South Wales, Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria
  • 7:30am ACST: Northern Territory and South Australia
  • 6am AWST : Western Australia

Where can I watch the Met Gala red carpet in Australia?

You can stream over the internet via Vogue.

The magazine will be broadcasting it on its website, as well as over YouTube and TikTok.

Who is on the Met Gala guest list?

The guest list is secret up until the night before the Met Gala, Vogue magazine says .

But we know for sure that these four big names are coming:

  • Jennifer Lopez
  • Chris Hemsworth

... because they're hosting the event this year alongside Vogue editor Anna Wintour.

We also know that Gwendoline Christie, La La Anthony and Ashley Graham will be there because they're co-hosting the red carpet coverage for Vogue.

About 450 guests go each year, with many of them being key pop culture figures — think actors, musicians, models, fashion designers, athletes and even politicians.

The magazine is being tight-lipped about who is going this year but hints that it'll be a star-studded event.

"Some of the biggest names in the business regularly attend— from Beyoncé and Gigi Hadid to Madonna and Rihanna," its website says.

What is the Met Gala theme?

The theme for this year's exhibition is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.

"The forthcoming show has not to do with the Brothers Grimm or Disney," the magazine says .

"But rather the celebration of clothing and fashion so fragile that it can't ever be worn again — and are thus sleeping beauties in the scrupulous archives of the Costume Institute."

What is the Met Gala dress code?

The official dress code for the Met Gala is The Garden of Time.

The magazine says the dress code was inspired by a short story by J G Ballard — which was called The Garden of Time.

It's about a count and countess who live in a grand villa, which is being threatened by an encroaching mob.

Here's how the story was summarised in a BBC article from 2012 :

"The garden contains crystalline flowers at the tops of whose stems are goblet-shaped blossoms, which when snapped from the stem, drain the garden of time and motion. "Each evening the count snaps off one of the time flowers. "As he carries the crystal blossom onto the terrace, the menacing rabble retreats and he and his wife are safe for another day. "But the stems no longer bear fruit, the flowers are being used up, and the count realises that time could not be stopped forever."

What's the difference between the theme and the dress code?

The theme is for the exhibition, the dress code is for the event.

However, we're expecting the two to blend.

And, as always, we're expecting obscure interpretations of the dress code to manifest in some fabulously ridiculous outfits.

What are some iconic Met Gala looks?

In the past few years we've seen iconic fashion moments from Zendaya, Cardi B, Blake Lively, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Lady Gaga ... the list goes on.

Here are just a handful of some of the looks we've been treated to in the past:
