KylieX2008

KylieX2008  is the ninth concert, and first world, tour by  Kylie Minogue . It was launched in 2008 to promote her tenth studio album X . Originally announced as just a European tour, rumors of Kylie taking the tour to Australia, Asia, and America had surfaced in the international media. At the conclusion of the European leg, she announced that the tour would continue onto South America, Asia and Australasia.

The tour continued into 2009, with Kylie performing at festivals and other music events. With the announcement of the 2009 North American Tour, Kylie's official website stated that the tour grossed more than US$96 million from 74 shows in ticket sales in 2008. In all, the tour had five set lists, one for the first few shows, but there were issues with it so a new order was introduced. There was then a set list for open air/amphitehatre venues in Europe, and one for open air/amphitehatres in Asia, South America and New Zealand. There was then a final set list for festivals. All five had more or less the same songs, but different running orders.

In late 2009, Kylie performed a mini-tour in North America, titled For You, For Me , which was a means of testing the waters there and also promoting X . The tour took a lot of its content from the X Tour, but also drew inspiration from other of Kylie's tours, using song arrangements, choreography, outfits and screen projection.

About the tour [ ]

After months of speculation it was announced through Kylie's official website that "KylieX2008" would commence in Paris traveling internationally.

By way of introduction, she stated:

While rehearsing for the tour, Kylie released several behind-the-scenes videos on her website. Concurrently, she released "X" in the United States and filmed two music videos for the single, " All I See ".

As the tour began to sell out all over Europe and the UK, many fans speculated that Kylie would bring her tour to Australia and Japan. While promoting her ITV special, The Kylie Show , she stated: "I just want to have in my head more solidly what the tour will be and if I can manage what I have so far, I would love to come back [to Australia]". It was later revealed that Kylie would bring a limited numbers of shows to her home country, stating, "The reason I hadn't confirmed dates in Australia is I really didn't know what I was getting into [...] But now I know".

About the show [ ]

As with the X album, the tour rippled the "new wave" theme, made popular in the '80s. The show was divided into seven acts with the addition of an encore and intermission. Throughout the course of the tour, the show evolved, with numerous changes to the running order, costumes, set list and even Kylie's hairstyle.

The set consisted of a three-tier stage. On the left and right, mini-stages were made available for the band and backing singers. The main stage was minimalist, with an illuminated video floor and gigantic moving video curtains as the backdrop. For performances in amphitheaters, open air and small arenas the illuminated floor and the lavish props, such as the giant skull and purple hoop, were removed due to technical limitations.

Kylie described the show as "being a show within a show", stating that each act is dramatically different from one another. Kylie alluded she was inspired by Queen frontman, Freddie Mercury, "I'm releasing my inner Freddie Mercury. It's hard to explain but parts of the show are so over the top. When I sing 'Your Disco Needs You', it's a real Freddie moment."

The first act Xtatic Electric act opens the show with a futuristic video showing the outline of Kylie's face polarized in neon colours. The video curtains slide open to reveal Kylie perched in a giant hoop dressed in a 'spiderwoman' gown, singing " Speakerphone ". On technically limited shows, the giant stereo speakers (and other related props) moved rapidly to reveal Kylie. She performed her worldwide hit " Can't Get You Out of My Head ", which was mashed up with unreleased track " Boombox " as well as " In Your Eyes " and an unreleased track entitled "Ruffle My Feathers".

The second act 'Cheer Squad' opens with an homage to the Toni Basil hit "Mickey", with Kylie and her dancers appearing as American cheerleaders. Themed as a high-school pep rally, Kylie performed " Heart Beat Rock ", " Wow " and " Shocked ", the latter being reduced to a dance interlude on some dates. Kylie has cited this act as her personal favourite on the concert.

Beach Party begins with " Loveboat " and goes on with a cover of the Barry Manilow hit "Copacabana". On the opening night, "That's Why They Write Love Songs", a tribute to the many romantic show tunes of the 1940s and 1950s, was also performed, having been dropped since then. Kylie closed the act with the celebratory " Spinning Around ". This section was originally the final act before the encores.

For the fourth act Xposed , Kylie appeared as an 'erotic bellboy' on a gigantic skull suspended high above the stage performing " Like a Drug ". The skull descends to the stage and Kylie goes on to perform " Slow ", with excerpts of " Free ", and " 2 Hearts ". The skull received a very positive reaction from the fans, being then 'replaced' by a screen CG reproduction on the concerts it could not be featured due to stage limitations (this additional projection, however, was not present before the South American leg).

The Asian-influenced fifth act Naughty Manga Girl , sees Kylie emerge from a pyrmaid in an outfit inspired by Japanese Manga, performing " Come into My World ", " Nu-Di-Ty " and " Sensitized ". This segment, which opens with a video of the rare single " Sometime Samurai ", was completely cut from the technically limited concerts.

The show takes a sombre tone as it progresses into its sixth act Starry Nights , with Kylie appearing in a blue satin gown and premiering another new song, the power ballad " Flower " together with a ballad version of " I Believe in You ". The act ended with " Cosmic " on the initial dates, but this song was later dropped.

In the seventh act Black Versus White , Kylie appears as a 19th-century coachman, performing " On a Night Like This ", " Your Disco Needs You ", " Kids ", " Step Back in Time " and " In My Arms ". The act begins with a black and white theme and progresses into colour. " Love at First Sight " was performed during this act on initial dates, being later reallocated to the encore section.

Kylie re-emerged on stage in a Cher-esque evening suit performing " No More Rain ". Many songs were added and swapped around during this act including " The One ", " Love at First Sight ", " I Should Be So Lucky " and the acoustic rendition of " All I See ". For the first two performances in South America, Minogue performed "Somewhere", a song from the critically acclaimed musical West Side Story , and " Better the Devil You Know " dressed in a green feather dress, before the regular encore. Later, the new costume was dropped and "Better the Devil You Know" was placed in the encore.

Kylie Minogue (born 28th May 1968) is a globally renowned and beloved pop singer-songwriter from Melbourne, Australia, currently residing in London, UK, achieving success over a career spanning three decades.

Kylie Minogue first achieved fame in her role in the television soap opera, "Neighbours." She began her musical career in 1987, signing a contract with British songwriting trio Stock Aitken Waterman, after her first single "The Loco-Motion" was hugely successful, becoming the highest-selling single of the decade in Australia. "I Should Be So Lucky" was Kylie's breakout hit in 1988 and remains a pop classic.

In 1992 she left Stock Aitken Waterman, choosing to go it alone and establish herself as a performer in her own right. In 1994 she collaborated with Nick Cave on the song "Where the Wild Roses Grow" which garnered artistic credibility for Kylie, as she moved away from her image as the "girl next door" pop star. In 2000 she returned to success with the singles "Spinning Around" and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" which reached number one in over 40 countries. Through her album "Fever" (2001) she broke into the American market, which had before alluded her. This release led to achieving four ARIA airways as well as two Brit Awards for Best International Female Solo Artist and Best International Album.

Throughout her career, Kylie Minogue has developed and evolved her music to a more mature, dance orientated sound incorporating electronica, disco and R & B influences. Whilst attempting to establish herself as a more serious artist, she has always maintained a sense of joy and fun within her music, which has helped her become such a treasured star in Australia and her adopted home in the UK.

In the middle of a tour in 2005, Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer, which forced her to cancel the tour. Thankfully, she successfully combatted the disease, allowing her to continue producing brilliant music. Following her illness, Minogue became an important figure in raising awareness and support of health research as well as humanitarian issues around the world. Her contributions were acknowledged through an honorary doctorate degree from Anglia Ruskin University as well as being appointed as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

Kylie Minogue has featured as a judge on BBC One's talent competition, "The Voice" for the first season and the third season of Australia's version of the show. She also released her 12th studio album in March 2014, titled "Kiss Me Once" which reached number one in the Australian charts and number two in the UK.

Live reviews

Kylie puts on a proper pop show and gives you your money's worth. The sets (giant skulls! Pegasus!), the lights, the videos, the dancers, the costumes, and, of course, THE SHOES (thigh high cut-out Louboutins!) are all fabulous. In fact, Kylie’s shows are often like a mini version of Cirque du Soleil, with many of her dancers doubling as aerialists, and sets that would put most Broadway musicals to shame.

Ms. Minogue’s set lists are always impeccably balanced between the new material that is the reason for the tour, more recent hits, and timeless classics from back in the day. She often mixes things up with new song arrangements and medleys. And there is no doubt that Kylie is up there giving each song her all; no 'miming' here.

Kylie is the consummate showgirl, and (as one of my fellow Kylie fans put it so succinctly) she is always about love and connecting with her audience. It’s all about having a good time no matter your age, orientation, or other demographic info. The audiences/fans at Kylie shows are always a friendly bunch, and the atmosphere is nothing short of festive. Even if you attend a show solo, you certainly won’t feel alone.

I am Mario from Hamburg Germany. I went with my old friend Nico to see Kylie Minogue live! It was an amazing experience which I will cherish forever!

We were in the Golden Circle front row to the stage catwalk and had the chance to see Kylie just 1 ft away!!! She blew us and the whole audience away. She is a true professional and also natural pure live performer. From very close view you would never think this woman is 50 years old. Her look is stunning and her voice was amazing powerful and strong and her dance routines magnificent! She sang 60% of songs from her current album Golden and mixed it up great with her old hits back from the beginning to her big greatest hits for which we all love her! I will also attend her German shows in November in Munich, Berlin and my hometown Hamburg and I can’t wait to see her live again!

She brings so much joy fun and emotion to the stage and I always have a big smile on my face. She is the one and only true most wonderful and beautiful pop princess on earth! We’re not young, we’re not old we are GOLDEN! Love you Kylie always and forever! Your German Fan Mario xxx

Ok, I’ll start by saying I am a hardcore fan and I’d love a Kylie show no matter what. However, like many fans that know every song, sometimes we would like to hear some of the over played known songs replaced with new material or old/rare gems. On first sight of the setlist there was a mix, but sighs over The Locomotion, Kids, Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Love At First Sight being dusted off and sang again. But, I have to say, the tweaks, reworkings amd mash ups made them fresh and fit. While I would have loved to hear What Kind Of Fool, Word Is Out and the recent album track penned for the fans Sincerely Yours, Kylie has a tough job of pleasing casual fans, hardcore fans and putting on a fresh show. This, she has achieved. No feathers and space age costumes, but Kylie dazzled and looked amazing, more importantly; sounded fabulous. Still plenty of glitter and dancing from the backing dancers with Kylie free to focus on vocals and occasional moves or free styling. It’s a show not to missed and whether your first Kylie show or been there since day one, you’re in for a treat!

Kylie Minogue is Australia's original diva. She has been a frequenter of the charts since her runaway singles 'Locomotion/The Loco-Motion' and 'I Should Be So Lucky' topped charts around the world in 1987 and won her an instant following. She is considered to be one of the most likeable live personalities with an incredible sense of humour, quick wit and ability to build connection with entire arenas.

A definitive pop star who has an impossible amount of hits has crafted one of the most fast paced and visually engaging live tours for latest album 'Kiss Me Once'. The selection of complex dance routines, lavish stage props and a near unnecessary level of costume changes is like a masterclass of what makes a world class diva.

The music selection is flawless with 'Into Your Arms', 'On a Night Like This', 'Wow' and 'Get Outta My Way' all being performed tonight. It is the encore of 'Into The Blue' where Kylie really showcases her vocal and demonstrates her heightened understanding of the pop genre which means she remains relevant nearly three decades after her first release.

Amazing show. Greatest hits and what a catalogue to choose from. Perfect set list. Personally I’m done with Kids and Especially For You, but they are crowd favourites, so it fits the audience of the Summer shows and more casual fans than the die hard fans that see and go to every show! I would love to see another anti tour for the fans. The lesser known tracks. Kylie will never beat the Fever and Aphrodite tour dramatics these days, but she still puts on a blooming good show. Put your glitter on, leave your troubles at the door and be prepared to dance your bottom off!

Fantastic performance with a mix off new songs from her latest golden album and her older hits. This wasn’t just a concert but a true stage show with plenty of dancing and costume changes. Kylie is absolutely stunning vocally and in appearance. Who would have thought she was old enough to be celebrating 30 years since her first single.

I would highly recommend seeing Kylie if you get a chance, just a shame we were up in the gods and not closer to the stage but that shows the interest in her that all the good tickets were snapped up so quickly

I had a really golden time! Couldn’t wait to see la Minogue again. It was my 11 time and my 2nd time in Manchester - which is all the time supposed to be a great audience. Now to Kylie and golden tour! Fantastic stage - this time she fills much better the catwalk as years ago, great setlist unfortunately 1-2 songs in my opinion where missing - and simple Kylie thru the last 30 years with a little touch of country! Loved it from the beginning! Go there and just enjoy the golden showgirl it might be here best show so far! Perfect

I have been a big fan of Kylie for many years now and have seen most of her concerts but the Golden Tour is by far her best. She sang songs from her new album and songs from the past but her studio 54 medley was out of this world. Absolutely fantastic. The venue in Frankfurt was small and gave a great personal experience. Kylie is truly a great artist and is always worth seeing in concert

What can I say??

Kylie never disappoints!

Ricky Martin appears to get an erection on stage at Madonna concert

The performer was apparently very excited to join Madonna in Miami for her "Celebration" tour.

kylie minogue x tour full concert

Ricky Martin appeared to be super excited by Madonna 's dancers shaking their bon-bons all up on him.

Madonna welcomed the 52-year-old on stage during a performance of "Vogue" at Sunday night's Celebration tour stop in Miami — and, judging by fan-captured videos from the concert shared online , Martin seemingly grew aroused by the dancers' sensual grinding in front of him.

Another video Martin shared to social media also appeared to show his alleged arousal during the moment. Shortly after taking the stage, Martin sat in one of two silver chairs to help Madonna judge the ballroom portion of the show, which typically sees the singer-songwriter's dancers strut down a runway to receive scores from which Madonna and a rotating roster of celebrity guest judges.

"Thank you @Madonna my love! Always fun to be invited to the party!" Martin tweeted alongside the video. "You all, CAN’T MISS THIS SHOW!"

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Martin for comment.

Martin revealed earlier this year on an episode of Live With Kelly and Mark that he first met Madonna in 1999 following his performance at the Grammys, and the pair have remained friends ever since.

Other celebrities who've joined Madonna for the "Vogue" portion of the show include Julia Garner — who was initially hired to play Madonna in the star's delayed , self-directed biopic — RuPaul's Drag Race stars Sapphira Cristál , Plane Jane , Symone , and Monét X Change , and David Harbour , who starred in Madonna's 2011 directorial effort W.E.

Madonna Shouts Out Her Cousins She Hasn't Seen in Years at the Tampa Stop of the Celebration Tour

The pop icon is currently in the midst of wrapping up the final U.S. dates of her acclaimed Celebration Tour

kylie minogue x tour full concert

Madonna is known for bringing her family along on tour, but some special guests stepped out to show their support at her concert in Tampa.

When the pop icon, 65, brought her Celebration Tour to Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, on Thursday, April 4, she gave a shout-out to her cousins in the audience. Not only was the hitmaker excited that her relatives from her mother's side of the family were in attendance, she shared that it had been over two decades since she'd seen them.

According to fan-recorded footage that was shared to YouTube , the Material Girl mentioned her cousins were watching the show while taking a moment on stage to reflect on the value of family. After speaking about her children and reflecting on her late mother , she said, "One other mention is that I have two cousins that are in the audience tonight."

The seven-time Grammy winner continued, "I'm not pointing them out. I'm just saying that my mother is their aunt and I haven't seen them in, I don't know, 25 years maybe."

"I hope that you enjoy seeing them tonight," Madonna added.

The moment felt especially moving, given how the pop superstar has opened up over the years about how much her mother's death caused by breast cancer in 1963 when she was just 5 years old has affected her.

Madge gave a nod to her relatives shortly after the portion of her show, which features tributes to her mom, Madonna Louise Ciccone and her son David 's birth mother, among others, saying that it gives her "great pleasure" to see their faces on stage.

"This part of the show, and this part of my life, is extremely important to me," she said. "Everything that I have ever done in my life is meaningless compared to be a mother. I'm not trying to sound corny or anything because it is a full-time job."

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

After thanking her children David, Mercy , and twins Stella and Estere for performing every night during the tour , and noting how much she loves all of her kids (including the two eldest, Lourdes and Rocco , who don't join her out on the road), she continued to speak about how much family means to her.

The "Hung Up" singer said, "So, thanks for talking about family and motherhood and love. Right? Because that's what it's all about. That's why I'm here. That's why I still have this job because I love what I do. And also because you have been supporting me for 40 years, so thank you. Thank you for your love and support for four f---ing decades. I do not take it for granted."

She then broke into an acoustic performance of her 1989 classic "Express Yourself."

Madonna's acclaimed, long-awaited Celebration Tour  launched in October 2023 at London's O2 Arena with a spectacular two-hour set where she opened up about her  road back to the stage  following  her hospitalization last year  due to a  serious bacterial infection .

After the European leg of the tour, which lasted throughout the fall, she kicked off her shows in North American with several dates in New York City and Washington D.C. in December. Her tour resumed in early 2024 and is set to continue across the U.S. until April 15. At the end of the month, she'll take the show to Mexico City for five dates.

The Celebration Tour will officially wrap up with a special, free concert in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on May 4 at Copacabana Beach.

According to a press release, the historic show sponsored by Itaú Apresenta "will be free of charge as a thank you to her fans for celebration more than four decades of her music over the course of the epic global run of the tour."
