4 Day - Northern Lights, Snæfellsnes & Glacier Lagoon

The staff was super professional, helpful and funny too. The trip to the ice cave was quite challenging for two of our group, as we had to walk approx. 3km to the cave through rough terrain from the parking lot. We needed longer than planned, so we missed the amphibian boat tour through the lagoon.

From Copenhagen to Helsinki Tour

From Copenhagen to Helsinki

We enjoyed the tour, overall. We considered it a taste of Scandinavia. There wasn't enough time in Oslo to experience it at all, and we were definitely rushed through other cities. But we knew this going in. The guides on the buses did n excellent job of providing information in a variety of languages. We really enjoyed the various tours on the water, from taking a cruise across a fjord, to the car ferry, to the overnight ferry on the Baltic Sea. The only drawback is that we were on a bus for many hours, many days, hardly anyone wore masks, and some people were coughing. In the end, I tested positive for COVID two nights before the trip ended, and my husband and I had to leave the tour and isolate ourselves in the hotel room. It ruined the rest of our vacation. I would urge Europamundo to be more careful about COVID and require masks on the bus.

Scenic Scandinavia and its Fjords (14 Days)

The itinerary was great with lots of time built in for solo exploration. I liked having an orientation to the towns before heading out on my own. Michael had a lot of knowledge to share about the places we saw. He is s great story teller making everything interesting. His personality is perfect for the job. He kept everyone on time in a very respectful manner which was much appreciated. I also enjoyed the local guides who were also a wealth of knowledge. The optional excursions were Good value for the most part. Our driver was awesome. Despite the challenging terrain I felt very safe and comfortable on the coach. He was always very pleasant.

An excellent and enjoyable tour with so much amazing scenery. Greg's knowledge, enthusiasm, commitment to us and his warm personality added so much to our experience. A special mention to our driver Zoltan whose skill and friendly nature made us all feel very safe and relaxed. Greg and Zoltan worked so well together. Would highly recommend the tour, Greg and Zoltan

Best of Iceland Tour

Best of Iceland

Great tour, you get to see all the highlights within a few days, I think we drove 2.000 km. There is a lot of bus sitting, but the landscape is amazing. I did the tour in April 2022, it was a nice small group, excellent guide who provided us with lots of information, kept everyone on time, made adjustments based on the group's needs. We were accommodated in nice and clean hotels. I would surely recommend this.

Focus on Scandinavia Tour

Focus on Scandinavia

Two hotels on our tour were not acceptable. Our hotel in Oslo was near a ski slope far away from town, where we wasted half the day of our one day stop in the Capital.. Our hotel in Stockholm was again far away from town and we spent a lot taking a taxi to town and back.. thank God our hotel in Bergen was downtown.. where we were comfortably independent to walk to the sights. The guide and the driver of our bus were excellent , helpful and capable. On a fast paced tour like this the location of hotels is as important as the quality.

Nikolai was FANTASTIC!!!! He was a great tour leader. The tour took us to many places and he educated us well. However, just a few negative comments. The hotels were not satisfactory ....I am used to better hotels when I travel. Carrying my luggage throughout the tour was very burdensome. I am an older person, and although I am in great shape, I did not want to be responsible for carrying my luggage everywhere. There was an 89 year old man on our trip. He had a real hard time catching up. I usually go on escorted tours where my luggage, and everything else, is handled by the guides, not by me. I loved the places that wer went to and overall I would suggest people take Tourradar and Intrepid if they don't mind doing some of the labor involved.

What people love about Nordic / Scandinavia Tours

Great tour, short but hit all the places that were on the initinery and the pick up from the hotel was very swift and easy. The guides for the 2 trips were friendly. I love how Mahlia (or Maria?) added her personal touch and stories to the pitch on the bus. I had a great trip in Iceland and want to come back again in different seasons.
I was worried about the culturally mixed tour clients due to some negative reviews from previous clients. But I enjoyed the experiences of mixing with participants from Mexico and the Philippines. Yes sometimes bilingual guides’ presentations were not clear, and I had to ask for clarifications. Hotels were better than I had expected from the reviews; except in one-hotel the lightening was so bd
My trip was well organized. The Tour Leader Amanda and the Driver Raffie were both excellent. The cities, sites, people, and events experienced were a joy.

Who Is Jesper Svensson? Swedish DP World Tour Pro’s Life Explored

T hings came down to the wire at the Porsche Singapore Classic as Jesper Svensson and Kiradech Aphibarnrat entered the playoffs for the victory. Eventually, the Swedish rookie carded a par putt in the third playoff hole and defeated Aphibarnrat to clinch his maiden victory on the DP World Tour. Although Svensson was five strokes behind when he started the final round, his eight birdies and two eagles made him finish 9 under 63 to tie the Laguna National Golf Resort Club record and enter the contention.

From a collegiate golfer to his first win on the European Tour has been an uphill journey for Jesper Svensson. How did he come to be a golfer?

Jesper Svensson’s early life and career

Jesper Svensson was born in Uppsala, Sweden on March 14th, 1996. And from the early stages of his life, the 28-year-old showed immense interest in golf. Before moving to America, Svensson was ranked the 12th best amateur player in Sweden and had won four times (2014 – Swedish National Junior Matchplay Championship, Skandia Tour Riks, and Titleist Footjoy Junior Open, 2015 – Skandia Tour Elite event) while he was studying at Sweden’s National School of Golf.

After making a name for himself in Sweden, he got admitted to Campbell University and for four years played for the Go Camels. During his years at university, Svensson won four intercollegiate events. Three of these victories were in his senior years; Golfweek Program Challenge, OBX Intercollegiate, and Big South Conference. He won his first title at the Big South Championship Individual title when he was a sophomore.

After four years and collecting four remarkable accolades, Svensson graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 2019. Soon after, the then-amateur joined the Nordic Challenge Tour to start his professional journey. In his first year on the Tour, Svensson won the Race to HimmerLand, simultaneously, Svensson was also playing on the Challenge Tour. There, in 2021, he earned his second career win in 2023 at the BLN Challenge Trophy and received the 2024 membership for the DP World Tour.

In his last nine starts on the DP World Tour, Svensson finished runner-up two times, first at the Investec South Africa Open and then in January at the Bahrain Championship. But at the Porsche Singapore Classic, the 28-year-old did not want the results to be the same.

Jesper Svensson gets candid about his maiden win

After winning the Porsche Singapore Classic, Jesper Svensson was a bit emotional as he looked back at his journey to lifting a trophy on the European Tour. “It’s been a long journey. To win on my first season out here, I couldn’t have dreamt of it. It’s always been a dream to be a winner on the DP World Tour and to achieve it feels amazing,” said Svensson in the post-match interview.

Remembering the times at the Challenge Tour when he missed the title, Svensson recalled, “Combined with Challenge Tour last year and the beginning of this season I’ve had five second-place spots in the last year. I really wanted to come out on top here.” Svensson further explained what went through his mind right before he made an eagle on par-5 14th.

He described, “I told Lucky, my caddie… on 14 we were thinking about laying up.” However, they quickly doubled down on that though and said, “‘No, we’re not finishing second again.” Ultimately, “it was the best shot of the week,” he admitted.

Now after carding his first victory in his rookie year on the European Tour, Jesper Svensson will be taking home $425,000 as the winner of the Porsche Singapore Classic with shining silverware!

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).

Launch Tour »

Most of the yield from our nuclear weapons (NW) comes from matter in a high energy density (HED) state, where pressures exceed 1 million times that of the Earth's atmosphere and temperatures exceed those at the center of the sun. Outside of underground NW testing, the only way to access the HED state is to use high-energy/high-power lasers or pulsed power machines. Sandia's Z Machine is one of three flagship facilities in the U.S. Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) Program and the world's largest and highest-current pulsed power machine. Data from the Z facility is used to validate HED physics models for the safety, security, and effectiveness of our stockpile and to evaluate the survivability of our weapons in hostile radiation environments. Key Facts:

  • Z Compresses Energy in Space (109 X) and Time (109 X) to generate HED conditions.
  • Uses currents of about 26 million amps to reach peak X-ray emissions of 350 terawatts.
  • X-ray output of 2 megajoules or 1,000 times the electricity of a lightning bolt.
  • Z fires approximately 150 shots/year and approximately 10% of the shots are completed in collaboration with academic partners.

Z's program includes three major experimental areas, and each contribute to the understanding of how materials behave while also feeding insights into astrophysics and planetary science.

  • Dynamic material properties experiments -materials are shocked and or squeezed to see how they react to high pressures and temperatures.
  • Radiation effects sciences -the world's most powerful burst of X-rays is used to test the effects of radiation on materials.
  • ICF experiments -electrical energy hits a target at Z's core and creates a highly compresses, super-heated plasma in which hydrogen isotopes are fused together to release energy.

Yanmar’s global 2024 Service Awards for Skandiaverken and Paghini Moreno

On 7 March, Yanmar Global CS (YCGS) organized the annual “Service Awards 2024” ceremony in Osaka. An event where outstanding service employees from across the world are honoured for their commitment and achievements. Approximately 200 people attended, including Yanmar Holdings board members, presidents of group companies, domestic and international customer service managers, and two European winners.

skandia tour

Challenging towards better service

This year, the ceremony started off with an inspiring opening film themed around “Challenging towards better service” and the Japanese concept of “HANASAKA” – a concept adopted by Yanmar and focusing on embracing challenges and nurturing talent. Mr. Hirami, President of YGCS, emphasized the importance of continuous innovation in customer service during his speech:

Based on the values of HANASAKA, which encourages all people to take on challenges and to nurture people and businesses, I would like to share the activities and challenges of our staff around the world involved in the after-sales service area, and I would also like everyone to take on the challenge of making the next flower bloom.

Awards for 66 service professionals across the world

A total of 66 service professionals from 27 companies in Yanmar’s global network were awarded for their ongoing dedication and innovation. The event also featured insights into successful service strategies, offering a great opportunity to share our services in various countries and fields. The day wrapped up with a celebration dinner where even more ideas were exchanged and relationships strengthened. Evidence of how community and collaboration contribute to Yanmar’s commitment to service.

Rightful European winners, said the jury

skandia tour

The Yanmar Europe delegation consisted of four people. Yanmar Commercial Marine awardee Ronald de Jonge, Service Manager of Skandiaverken SLU in Spain, accompanied by Mark Brender A Brandis, Service Project Engineer of Yanmar Europe B.V., and Yanmar Industrial awardee Paghini Moreno, Owner & FIE Specialist of Paghini Moreno & C snc in Italy, accompanied by Sebastiano Valenti, After-Sales Service for Yanmar Italy.

According to the jury, Ronald de Jonge was awarded for his professional quality and the consistent promptness of his response. He is heading one of Yanmar Europe’s major service providers and is always looking for opportunities to improve and expand the business.

The jury praised Paghini Moreno as an outstanding individual who was awarded because of his technical knowledge, service quality, parts sales, and trouble-shooting capabilities, offering valuable support to Yanmar and Yanmar customers, even beyond normal repairing activities.

Congratulations to both!

Ronald de Jonge of Skandiaverken commented:

skandia tour

It is an honour for me and SKV to receive this award for the second time and to accept it at Yanmar in Japan. While the Service Award was presented to me personally in recognition of SKV’s service quality, it was made possible only by the hard work of the entire SKV service team. Special thanks to all SKV service technicians and Customer Support colleagues, as well as to Yanmar Europe for their support and Mark Brender who accompanied me to Japan.

Seizing the opportunity…

skandia tour

During their stay in Japan, the European delegation seized the opportunity to take part in the follow-up programme that Yanmar Ltd had organized.

The day after the ceremony they joined a visit to the Yanmar Synergy Square building and a tour of the Amagasaki plant nearby. It was an interesting visit with the group learning about the latest services and innovations of Yanmar.

One of the highlights was the highly sophisticated Remote Support Center as part of the Synergy Square, an advanced 24/7 helpdesk and monitoring station that watches over and supports customers’ valuable machinery.

The Amagasaki plant is the place where diesel and gas engines are manufactured, assembled, tested and shipped under strict quality control processes. In fact, it was the first factory in the world to receive approval for its self-inspection system from all 11 quality control certifying organizations that exist.

The third day was for relaxation with a sightseeing tour to the Golden Temple and cherry blossom in full bloom in Kyoto. And after that: a safe trip back to Europe.
