Bruce Springsteen confirms dates in four Irish cities for 2024

Rory Cashin

bruce springsteen tour dates ireland

Ireland is getting four of Bruce Springsteen’s latest 22-show run.

Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band effectively blew the roof off Ireland after his three-show run in May 2023, and ever since then, fans have already been keeping a keen eye out for when he might return.

About two months ago , there were heavy rumours swirling that Bruce Springsteen was indeed planning a 2024 return, but that one of the stops wouldn’t be Dublin, due to the heavy traffic of performers already booked in for next year, including multiple shows from both Taylor Swift  and  Coldplay .

However, as per the announcement on Tuesday (31 October) morning, The Boss and his band will indeed be playing the capital, as well as three more performances across the island.

The dates and locations of Bruce Springstreen and the E-Street Band’s 2024 tour in Ireland

Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band will be playing the following locations and dates, with tickets for all performances going on sale at 8am on Monday 6 November on Ticketmaster:

Thurs 9 May – Belfast @ Boucher Road

Sun 12 May – Kilkenny @ Nowlan Park

Thurs 16 May – Cork @ Páirc Uí Chaoimh

Sun 19 May – Dublin @ Croke Park

Literally no other country on his new tour has as many dates as Ireland – England getting two and most other countries only getting two, while the closest to us is Spain, which has three dates – and with those three day gaps between each performance here, we can expect to see Bruce A LOT around the island during those two weeks in full holiday mode!

  • Arctic Monkeys Dublin gig might be their final show ever
  • Five songs Liam Gallagher performs most, and the Oasis classic he’s only sang once
  • Lady Gaga joins U2 on stage at the Sphere to duet on several songs
  • Taylor Swift has reportedly become a billionaire thanks to Eras tour
  • The Beatles releasing brand new music with all four band members for final time

Additional cities and shows in the UK and Belgium will be announced at a later date and a second North American tour leg will start in August.

The 2023 dates will mark the first live shows for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band since the conclusion of their 14-month, worldwide The River Tour in Australia in February, 2017. The River Tour was named 2016’s top global tour by both Billboard and Pollstar.

“After six years, I’m looking forward to seeing our great and loyal fans next year. And I’m looking forward to once again sharing the stage with the legendary E Street Band. See you out there, next year – and beyond,” said Springsteen.

Springsteen and The E Street Band last performed together on the television show Saturday Night Live in December 2020, where they launched live versions of two songs from their most recent studio album Letter To You, which reached number one in eleven countries and marked the band’s first time recording live together in decades.

Last year, Springsteen unveiled his never-before-released Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts film, and collaborated with former US president Barack Obama on the book Renegades: Born In The USA.

He also reprised his show Springsteen On Broadway to help reopen New York City venues last summer.

Bruce Springsteen announces four huge Irish gigs for 2024

The Boss just can't get enough of Ireland - and he's coming back next year

  • 09:58, 31 OCT 2023

Bruce Springsteen performing live with his guitar in-hand

Bruce Springsteen has confirmed that he will be returning to Ireland next year with a series of gigs in May 2024.

Springsteen performed in Ireland earlier this year, but it is quite obvious at this point that he really does love being in the country, as he makes the trip quite often.

The American rock legend, who recently postponed the rest of his 2023 tour dates while he recovered from treatment for peptic ulcer disease, will perform in Cork, Dublin, Kilkenny and Belfast as part of his world tour.

This is a far more substantial tour of Ireland than his most recent trip, where he just played in Dublin's RDS a number of times.

Springsteen , alongside the iconic E Street Band, will perform at Boucher Road in Belfast on 9 May, Nowlan Park in Kilkenny on 12 May, Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork on 16 May and Croke Park in Dublin on 19 May.

Tickets go on sale Monday, 6 November from Ticketmaster.

The rockstar has said in the past that Ireland is special to him, and he has a number of establishments that he always makes sure to call into when he does visit.

He said: "I feel a great warmth there - our Irish audience is a very, very special audience to us.

"They have given us such a tremendous home in Ireland. It is completely appreciated by myself and the band. We love coming to Ireland."

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band announce two Irish concert dates

Bruce springsteen and the e street band are bringing their 2023 international tour to ireland for two dates.

May 27, 2016: Bruce Springsteen in concert at Dublin\'s Croke Park.

Legendary US rockers Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are bringing their international tour to Dublin, Ireland for two dates in  May 2023.

“After six years, I’m looking forward to seeing our great and loyal fans next year," Springsteen, who has roots in Co Kildare , said on Tuesday. "And I’m looking forward to once again sharing the stage with the legendary E Street Band. See you out there, next year — and beyond.”

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to rock out at the RDS Arena in Dublin, Ireland on May 5 and May 7, 2023.

Tickets for the Irish concerts will go on sale via Ticketmaster this Friday, May 27.

The 2023 Dublin shows are likely to go a bit smoother than The Boss's gig at Slane Castle in Co Meath in 1985 . Springsteen wrote in his  2016 autobiography "Born to Run" that the scenes in the crowd at the huge Irish gig put him into "a pure rage and simmering panic"

"I could not face what was happening in front of the stage at Slane on a nightly basis," he wrote. "It was irresponsible and violated the protective instinct for my audience I prided myself on."

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will mark their return to the road in early February 2023 with a string of to-be-announced US arena dates, followed by the European stadium shows kicking off on April 28th in Barcelona, Spain and a second North American tour leg starting in August.

Aside from Dublin, the planned European stops are Barcelona, Paris, Ferrara, Rome, Amsterdam, Landgraaf, Zurich, Düsseldorf, Gothenburg, Oslo, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Vienna, Munich, and Monza. Additional cities and shows in the UK and Belgium will be announced at a later date.

These 2023 dates will mark the first live shows for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band since the conclusion of their 14-month, worldwide The River Tour in Australia in February 2017. The River Tour was named 2016’s top global tour by both Billboard and Pollstar.

Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band last reconnected to perform on Saturday Night Live in December 2020, where they launched live versions of two songs from their most recent studio album ‘Letter To You’ (Columbia Records), which reached #1 in eleven countries and marked the band’s first time recording live together in decades.

Last year, Springsteen unveiled his never-before-released “The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts” film, collaborated with President Barack Obama on the book ‘Renegades: Born In The USA’ and reprised his record-setting show ‘Springsteen On Broadway’ to help reopen New York City theaters last summer.

The E Street Band’s members are: Roy Bittan – piano, synthesizer; Nils Lofgren – guitar, vocals; Patti Scialfa – guitar, vocals; Garry Tallent – bass guitar; Stevie Van Zandt – guitar, vocals; and Max Weinberg – drums; with Soozie Tyrell – violin, guitar, vocals; Jake Clemons – saxophone; and Charlie Giordano – keyboards.

There will be a few more Irish eyes smiling this St. Patrick's Day weekend in Freehold Borough.

A seven-person delegation from Rathangan, a town in the west of County Kildare, Ireland, will be in Freehold as a Twin City resolution between Rathangan and Freehold is set to be signed Monday, March 18, at the Freehold Borough Council Meeting.

Rathangan is the ancestral home to multiple Freehold residents, including Bruce Springsteen, whose great-great-grandmother, Ann Garrity (on his father's side) came to Freehold from Rathangan in 1852.

“It's tremendous,” said Freehold Mayor Kevin Kane, “We're calling it a Hometown Twinning celebration.”

“Bruce Springsteen is the 'Tie that Binds' the Borough of Freehold and Rathangan and County Kildare together,” reads the resolution. “Bruce Springsteen calls Freehold Borough his 'Hometown,' and his ancestors and relatives call Rathangan their 'Hometown.' "

Springsteen took in the sights of Rathangan when the E Street Band played three shows at the RDS Arena in Dublin last May on their European tour. The Boss hit the Burrow, a pub in Rathangan, and led the ladies of the town in an a cappella version of his 1984 hit, “My Hometown.”

Springsteen and the E Street Band return to Dublin for a show at Croke Park on May 19. The band also plays Kilkenny on May 12 and Cork on May 16 in Ireland. The guys play Belfast, Northern Ireland, on May 9.

The Freehold and Rathagan Twinning events include a historic walking tour starting from the American Hotel at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 16; a viewing of the “Glory Days” baseball exhibit, curated by Glenn Cashion, Springsteen’s cousin, and the film “The Legend of Freehold Pond” by Emmy-winning filmmaker Adam Worth, at borough hall at 5 p.m. on Saturday; and a reception at the 618 Restaurant from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

The delegation will also march in Freehold St. Patrick's Day parade , which steps off noon Sunday, March 17, on Main Street.

In January, Cashion presented a letter to Rathangan officials in the Irish town from Mayor Kane about establishing the Twinning resolution between Rathangan and Freehold. Cashion also unveiled a painting of the former home of the Springsteens at 87 Randolph St. in Freehold at the Rathangan Library.

The Freehold Borough council previously passed a resolution in 2019 stating that Freehold and Peralejos de las Truches, a town of about 175 in Spain, are Twin cities. Town officials named Springsteen an “Adopted Son” of Peralejos in 2014.

Freehold will be the future home of the “My Hometown: The Bruce Springsteen Story Center,” a multi-purpose museum and event space at the firehouse at 49 W. Main St. The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University and Freehold are collaborating on the effort.

Springsteen and the E Street Band begin a world tour Tuesday, March 19, at the Footprint Center in Phoenix. Area shows include Aug. 21 and 22 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, and Sept. 15 at the Sea Hear Now festival in Asbury Park.

Bruce Springsteen Thanks U.S. Audiences, Playfully Warns European Fans, “We’re Coming to Get Ya!”

B ruce Springsteen and the E Street Band wrapped up the first two scheduled U.S. legs of their 2024 world tour with a show in Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday, April 21, and now the Boss and his group are preparing to launch a European trek in early May.

Springsteen has posted a couple of videos on his social media sites in which he sends out messages to his fans across the pond and to those who came to see his recent stateside concerts.

In the first clip , Springsteen is captured walking offstage at what apparently was the end of his performance in Columbus.

“How sweet it is! How sweet it is!” the Boss yells into the camera as he rubs some moisturizer on his hands. “All right! I’m walking off stage from my last American show, but I want you to know that we, the E Street Band, are coming to Europe! We’re coming to get ya. We’re coming to rock you into the ground. We’re gonna get it! See you soon.”

Springsteen then claps his hands and walks away into the backstage area of the venue. The video then shows a poster featuring all of the upcoming European dates.

Springsteens Message to U.S. Fans

The second clip features Springsteen standing outside of a house or cabin that may be part of his New Jersey residence.

“I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of our American fans for this last stretch of shows we’ve played here in the States,” he says. “We had so many good shows, and so many great audiences. It was really wonderful.”

The Boss then addresses the fact that he and the E Street Band had to postpone many tour dates last year because he needed to be treated for peptic ulcer disease.

“Thank you for your understanding and patience with our cancellations,” he notes. “Deeply appreciate it.”

Bruce adds, “We just couldn’t have had a better time here in the United States. God bless. We’re heading to Europe. We’ll see you when we get back.”

As with several other recent videos posted on Springsteen’s socials, the new clips were shot by his sister, lauded rock photographer Pamela Springsteen.

Springsteen’s Upcoming Tour Plans

Springsteen and the E Street Band’s European tour leg runs from a May 5 concert in Cardiff, Wales, through a July 27 show in London. Besides the U.K., Bruce and the gang will visit Ireland, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway.

Springsteen and the E Street Band will then mount a second U.S. leg in August and September, followed by a Canadian trek that runs from late October to late November. Visit BruceSpringsteen.net to check out his full itinerary.
