TAMPA, FL – Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill – extend the band’s “Hotel California” Tour with additional 2023 shows; an encore performance is scheduled for Tampa’s AMALIE Arena on Tuesday, March 28 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for the “Hotel California” 2023 Tour, produced by Live Nation, go on sale Friday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster . 

 Each concert will feature ‘Hotel California,’ performed live in its entirety from start to finish, accompanied by an orchestra and choir.  After a short intermission the band will perform a full set of their greatest hits.

Eagles bringing Hotel California Tour to Jacksonville, Tampa

The Eagles are bringing their Hotel California 2023 Tour to Jacksonville and Tampa.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band will play Jacksonville's VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday, March 25. They'll also play Tampa's Amalie Arena on Tuesday, March 28, returning to the same venue where they played last February.

Ticket prices were not released, but they go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13.

The band will perform "Hotel California," its 1976 26-times platinum-selling album, in its entirety, then take a break and come back for a set of greatest hits. They'll be accompanied by an orchestra and a choir for the shows. The tour began in 2019 and has played 77 sold-out shows. The 2023 leg includes stops in California, Oregon, Arizona, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina before wrapping up in April in New Jersey.

The band formed in the early 1970s in Southern California and were one of the most successful acts to blend rock and country music. They became the best-selling act of the 1970s and have six No. 1 albums to their credit.

Drummer/singer Don Henley is the only original member remaining with the band. Guitarist Joe Walsh, who joined the band in 1976, is the only other current member who played on the "Hotel California" album. The tour will also include bass player Timothy B. Schmit and country artist Vince Gill. Deacon Frey, the son of late Eagles singer Glenn Frey, has played with the band in the past but is not part of this tour.

Eagles extend 'Hotel California' tour with encore Tampa performance

TAMPA, Fla. — The Eagles have extended the “Hotel California” tour which will now include an encore performance in Tampa in March.

Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit, with Vince Gill will be at Amalie Arena on March 28 at 8 p.m., according to officials with the arena.

The show will feature the “Hotel California” album with accompanying orchestra and choir, along with a full greatest hits set

Shows have also been added in Jacksonville, Columbia, Knoxville, Greensboro and Newark.

Tickets for the tour, produced by Live Nation, will go on sale Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster . Presales will start Jan. 12 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Find additional information here .

Each night's concert will feature Hotel California, played from beginning to end, accompanied by an orchestra and choir. There will be a brief intermission followed by an additional set of the band's greatest hits.

One 2024 Florida stop added for the Eagles' farewell tour, 'The Long Goodbye.' Get tickets now

The eagles' farewell tour is coming to hard rock live in hollywood in 2024.

Turns out, you can check in any time you like. The Eagles are coming to say goodbye in Florida after all.

After skipping the Sunshine State in the initial tour dates announced in July for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band's farewell tour , the Eagles added six more stops last week, including a March 1, 2024 concert at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida.

Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m., Presales and VIP ticket sales begin Wednesday, November 1 at 10 a.m.

The "Hotel California" band's farewell tour, "The Long Goodbye," marking the end of the group's "miraculous 52-year odyssey," is expected to run through 2025.

"We know how fortunate we are, and we are truly grateful," the  band said in a statement.  "Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle.

"Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on.”

Money to harden your home? Florida program is changing. Here’s how.

TALLAHASSEE — Good news for Florida homeowners: The popular state program that awards up to $10,000 to harden your home is being renewed this year, and it now includes condominiums.

But now, older and low-income homeowners are the priority.

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday approved another $200 million for the My Safe Florida Home program, which was revived by state lawmakers in 2022.

He also signed legislation creating a pilot program expanding My Safe Florida Home to coastal condo owners.

In the last two years, the program has been so popular that funding has dried up quickly. Here’s how the program is changing, and when to apply for the money.

What’s My Safe Florida Home?

It’s a program designed to harden homes, saving homeowners (and insurance companies) from costly repairs after hurricanes and storms.

Applicants can get a free home inspection to identify ways to harden their houses and townhomes. They can also apply for a grant of up to $10,000 to upgrade windows, exterior doors and garage doors and strengthen roofs. (Townhomes are not eligible for roof upgrades.)

For every $1 a homeowner spends on qualifying upgrades, the state will provide $2, up to $10,000. It applies to homes valued up to $700,000 with homestead exemptions.

Since 2022, the state has conducted more than 104,000 home inspections and approved more than 38,000 grant applications, according to the Department of Financial Services, which administers the program.

DeSantis said the program has helped “stabilize and in some cases reduce insurance rates as a result of those improvements.”

Homeowners can apply online at mysafeflhome.com . The money often goes fast. The portal is currently closed because of demand, and July 1 is the next chance to apply.

Prioritizing older, low-income Floridians

Instead of a first-come, first-served program, lawmakers this year decided to prioritize older and lower-income homeowners.

Beginning July 1, applications will be staggered in 15-day increments, starting with low-income homeowners age 60 and older.

The law defines “low-income” as households making less than 80% of the median household income. The state couldn’t immediately say how it plans to calculate those income levels, but federal data shows it would be about $70,800 across the state.

The next phase is for “moderate-income” homeowners, defined as 120% of the median household income, or $106,300, according to federal data.

Here are the timelines for when to apply:

• Low-income homeowners 60 and older: July 1–July 15
• Low-income homeowners of any age: July 16–30
• Moderate-income homeowners 60 and older: July 31–Aug. 14
• Moderate-income homeowners of any age: Aug. 15–29
• All other eligible Florida homeowners: Aug. 31

It’s not immediately clear how the state plans to enforce the age and income restrictions. Homeowners who have completed an inspection and are waiting for the grant portal to reopen should be hearing from the program about those requirements within the next 30 days, a spokesperson said.

Once the money runs out, the portal will be closed until more funding is assigned.

What about condominiums?

For the first time, lawmakers and DeSantis are extending the program to condo owners, who have struggled to afford new inspection and maintenance costs required after the 2021 Surfside collapse.

The My Safe Florida Condominium Pilot Program will function differently than the homeowner program.

Instead of individual owners applying for inspections and grants, the condo association or board will have to vote to apply. The program only applies to condos within 15 miles of the coastline.

The condo grants can apply to upgrading exterior doors, garage doors, windows and skylights and strengthening roofs.

Like the home program, the condo program also matches $2 in state money for every $1 owners spend. But it has more restrictions on how much money can go to specific upgrades. The total grant award is up to $175,000 per association.

Since it’s a pilot program, funding is limited. Legislators have assigned $27.6 million for grants, which should go fast. If successful, the program could be expanded in future years.

“I think it is going to work, but we will see as we get into that,” DeSantis said during a news conference in Redington Shores on Wednesday.

2024 NHL playoff schedule: Panthers topple the Lightning in five games to advance

The panthers dominated their in-state rivals to move onto the next round of the stanley cup playoffs.

The Florida Panthers are moving onto the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in five games.

In a decisive Game 5, the Panthers flexed their offensive muscles in a 6-1 victory. After a scoreless opening period, star forwards Aleksander Barkov and Carter Verhaeghe scored goals to get the Panthers on the board. Both Barkov and Verhaeghe registered two goals and an assist in the win.

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky , who was named as a finalist for the Vezina Trophy on Monday, stopped 31 of the 32 shots that he faced in net. Despite having a seven-point series, Florida was able to keep regular-season points leader Nikita Kucherov from scoring a goal across the five games.

The Panthers will now face off against the winner of the opening-round series between the Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs .
