Our three boats are open Vandam hulls. They are 8m long and 2.5m wide. Equipped with a awning for sun protection, storage case for your bags, a shelf and a fin racket, these boats are perfectly designed for our activity. It's very easy to get in the water and to come back on the boat. Equipped with a 150hp Yamaha engine, we can quickly get to the area of observation.

Hydrophone: listen to the whalesong!

Thanks to our hydrophone, you may have the chance to hear humpback whalesong or listen to dolphins communicate. "The world of silence" is not that silent!

Our sightings success rate: more than 90 %!

Our strength is also to have excellent success rates in species sightings: for humpback whales and whale sharks it is more than 95% of chance to spot them, 99% for turtles, 85% for dolphins. This success can be explained by our experience and our network!

It is always a magical time to see marine mammals and fish in their environment. It is also important to have explanations and information on fauna and flora. In order to limit our impact on animals, we respect the animal approach charters. Adopting codes of good conduct and informing our passengers through a clear briefing is essential in our work philosophy! 

Swimming with humpback whales is prohibited in Madagascar, so whale watching is only possible from the boat. However, swimming with whale sharks, rays, turtles and others species is possible

MADAMegafauna association

As a complement to this tourist activity, the "MADA Megafauna" association was created in 2015. Its purpose is all actions about observation, awareness, improvement of knowledge and protection of cetaceans, whale sharks, turtles and more generally marine biodiversity in Nosy Be and the Mozambique Channel. Excursions Ships crossing and activities

Sea crossings to nosy tanikely are mainly from nosy be, nosy komba and ankify. it takes 15 to 30 minutes by fast boat..

You can also choose other departure points depending on the services offered with or in addition to your accommodation.

Depending on your schedule, the tour operators suggest either spending the whole day at Nosy Tanikely or combining Tanikely/Komba or Tanikely/Lokobé.

The main activities on Tanikely are scuba diving and snorkelling, but those who don’t dive or snorkel will be able to relax on the magnificent beaches, as well as visiting the island and taking a walk to the lighthouse.

Nosy Iranja

One of the best known islands of the archipelago of Nosy Bè, Nosy Iranja affects the imagination and the senses of visitors who come to admire a corner of paradise. A tongue of white sand of rare beauty about 2 km long separates two islets, Iranja Kely (small) and Iranja Bè (large). At low tide you can walk on foot letting admire on the sides the turquoise water sparkling in the sun. A place of peace where you can do marine, submarine activities and visits to the village, with its stalls of handicrafts, and to the beautiful lighthouse on top of the hill.

Nosy Sakatia

It is the island of giant turtles that graze the grasslands not very deep from the surface of the water. Rich in orchids and great biodiversity, it is a must stop between one dive and another to enjoy the tasty specialties of the Malagasy cuisine of the various restaurants on the beach.

Nosy Fanihy

Fanihy in the Malagasy language means bat. It is a small splendid island with a white beach formed by fragments of corals and a luxuriant vegetation. Clear waters allow you to make a pleasant snorkeling in the company of the many birds that inhabit the island.

Nosy Tani Kely

Nosy Tanikely, also called Nosy Antanihely, “the island of the small land”, south of Nosy Bè, is an islet that acquired the status of a protected marine and coastal area several years ago. It is known for its exceptional marine and terrestrial biodiversity: you can be enchanted by the beauty of the place, sunbathe, have lunch on the white beach and dive into a transparent water where many types of fish swim among the corals. Nosy Komba is a small volcanic island located south of Nosy Bè and facing the Grande Terre. It is the highest among those of the archipelago, thanks to its highest point, the Antaninaomby volcano, at 622 meters above sea level. A variety of families of lemurs live here, considered sacred by the inhabitants and therefore protected by the “fady” taboo. In addition to the animals, here you can admire awesome landscapes and the creations of refined local craftsmanship, renowned above all for woodworking.

Explore the eastern side of the island with a visit to Marodoka and other notable landmarks on this excursion that combines both culture and relaxation.

Your tour begins with a leisurely drive to Marodoka that includes a photo stop along the way. The remains of this Arab-Indian village that originated in the 17th century features huge banyan trees that would seem to stand as a silent memorial to those that once lived here. During its prime, the village was bustling with activity and had a distinctive Arab, Indian and Swahili influence.

Leaving Marodoka, your next stop is at a ylang-ylang distillery where you will have learn how the oil is extracted from the flower and then used in the production of perfumes and lotions. A quick visit to the Zoo is an opportunity to see some resident lemurs, reptiles, chameleons and the orchid garden.

Continuing on, it's a stop at the Sacred Tree, one of the most important Sakalava cultural sites on the island, and from there, you will next make your way to the souvenir market. Here, a wide variety of goods that include intricate woodcarvings, embroideries, raffia baskets, seashells and spices are available for purchase.

As you begin your return to Hell Ville, a brief stop at one of Nosy Be's best beaches will be made. Enjoy a soft drink and folk performance at a beach hotel and perhaps take a stroll along the beach before re-boarding your coach for the final leg of your journey. Afterwards, transfer directly back to the cruise ship pier.
