Full Refund Program (FRP)

For an additional fee, WorldStrides offers additional protection to your travel insurance for your investment through the Full Refund Program (FRP). Should you cancel your trip after the 24-hour grace period from registration up until the day before your program’s arrival day, or in the event that your program is cancelled as a result of Uncontrollable Circumstances (as defined below), the FRP protects your investment by reimbursing you for 100% of the amounts you’ve paid in, minus the FRP enrollment fee and any other Non-Refundable Fees.

To be eligible for this additional protection, your payment for the FRP fee must be purchased within 14 days of your registration, and your program must be cancelled 1 or more days before your departure date. The cost of FRP will be specified at the time of registration.

Please note, the FRP fee is non-refundable after 24 hours of initial FRP purchase confirmation. Additionally, the Non-Refundable Fees listed in this document are not refundable at any time, and the FRP does not cover Non-Refundable Fees. Additionally, FRP does not cover penalties or unrecoverable costs associated with any air or other travel arrangements not provided by WorldStrides. In the event that there are multiple registrations from each family, FRP should be purchased for each participant (it does not apply to the household).

FRP is provided by WorldStrides itself and is not an insurance product. It is possible to purchase both FRP to enable you to cancel for any reason prior to your travel and receive a full refund of your program fee (less the FRP and any nonrefundable fees) and the Tuition and Travel Protection Plan for insurance coverage and non-insurance assistance services during the program.

Envision FAQs

Answers to all of your questions about Envision, our programs, tuition and financial assistance, safety, travel and accommodations, academic preparation, and more.

Enrollment FAQs

Envision programs are for you if you are an elementary, middle, or high school student interested in exploring future career possibilities, preparing for college, and honing your leadership skills. An Envision program can be your springboard to investigating career pathways and learning to be a leader at school and in your community.

Many of our students are nominated by educators, leaders from youth organizations and participating institutions, but open enrollments are welcome from qualified students who want to make the most of this opportunity.

Please see our  Program Detail Pages for specifics about each Envision experience.

After you enroll, you will receive an enrollment confirmation email. A personalized “MyEnvisionExperience.com” page will be created for you where you can find important program updates, mandatory travel and information forms, a travel checklist, pre-conference assignments, and a press release you can use to notify local media about your participation in this prestigious program. You will receive notification in the mail and via email with details about how to access your MyEnvisionExperience.com page.

If the program you wish to enroll in is full, you will be placed on a wait list and your payment will not be processed. If space becomes available, we will contact you to confirm your interest to attend before proceeding with enrollment.

The deadline date is the date that enrollment closes. It is important to note, however, that you enroll on a first-come, first-served basis. Since program space is limited, it is wise to enroll early for this popular summer program.

Envision understands that diamonds in the rough are often overlooked by our nomination process but we LOVE self-starters. We encourage all aspirational students with an interest in trying a career, building future skills, and a creating a path to success to enroll with Envision. To learn more about our admissions process and acceptance criteria visit our Admissions page .

Tuition and Financial Assistance

Your tuition includes all curriculum and instruction, program activities, site visits and events, overnight housing, program materials, at least two meals a day, a Certificate of Completion, and local transportation during the program.

Transportation to and from home and the program location is NOT included in tuition. While attending the program, you'll need money for meals not provided, snacks, souvenirs, and other incidentals.

Most Envision programs give you the option of paying your tuition in full or to take advantage of one of our payment plans. Please see your  program’s detail page for payment specifics.

We are proud to offer a limited number of scholarships to eligible students, opening the door to young leaders from a variety of backgrounds. Many students also fundraise to pay for most or all of their tuition costs. See the Envision  scholarships and  fundraising pages for more information.

If you intend to fundraise to raise program tuition, we encourage you to enroll using our convenient payment plan. That way you will make sure you have secured your space in the program. It is always a good idea to contact our Office of Admissions once you begin your fundraising campaign.

If you have applied for a scholarship, you will be notified by email about two weeks after the scholarship deadline date, or by mail approximately three weeks after the deadline date has passed. The scholarship deadline date can be found on the scholarships page.

Travel and Accommodations

Depending on your program, you and other students and staff will reside at safe and secure locations that include hotels, college campuses, and conference centers.

Each room will house two to four students, depending on the housing location. You will have your own bed. Your room will include fresh linens and towels (but extra blankets and towels are recommended). The bathroom is shared.

Most college dormitories have shared bathrooms on each floor that are divided by gender. Other options may be available upon request prior to the beginning of the program.

At hotels and conference centers where students may share ensuite bathrooms, students will share their bathrooms with their assigned roommates.

Students have separate bathrooms from staff.

We do honor roommate requests. However, one of the important benefits of attending an Envision program is the opportunity to network with and get to know peers outside your current circle of friends.

Yes. Your tuition does not include transportation between your home and the program location. We recommend that you make necessary flight or other travel arrangements only AFTER you receive confirmation that you are officially enrolled.

Envision staff will meet all students who arrive and depart within the specified travel window(s) at the designated airport. We will also ensure that there is shuttle service to get you from your program’s designated airport to your program site on the first and last day of your program. The shuttle service fee is $50 each way or $100, respectively round-trip. This fee is comparable to, and in some cases less than, what you would pay for a ride-sharing or taxi service, and students will be supervised by staff.

More details about the designated airport, travel windows, and the airport shuttle service will be available on your personal MyEnvisionExperience.com page after you enroll in the program.

If you are attending a middle school program and arrive within the specified arrival window, Envision staff will meet you at your arrival gate. You may travel with an Unaccompanied Minor status with your airline as long as you are arriving within the specified arrival window.

More details about Unaccompanied Minor status for our middle school programs will be available on your personal MyEnvisionExperience.com page after you enroll in the program.

If you are attending a high school program and arrive within the specified arrival window, Envision staff will meet you at the designated meeting location in the baggage claim area. Envision staff are unable to meet you at your arrival gate; therefore you may not travel with an Unaccompanied Minor status with your airline. As airline policies vary, it is important to check with each airline about their Unaccompanied Minor requirements before booking your flight(s).

More details about the designated airport meeting locations will be available on your personal MyEnvisionExperience.com page after you enroll in the program.

When airlines offer the additional assistance of their personnel to a minor traveling without a parent, guardian, or other trusted adult, the airline refers to this as Unaccompanied Minor (UM) status. When flying with Unaccompanied Minor status, an adult must escort the minor to their departure gate and remain at the gate until the flight is in air. Upon the minor’s arrival at their final destination, an authorized adult must be present at the arrival gate to greet the minor and escort them through the airport.

Not all minors are required to travel using Unaccompanied Minor status. Generally, airlines require passengers within a given age bracket to use the Unaccompanied Minor status and each airline has different age requirements to define the status. Additionally, almost all airlines charge a fee for Unaccompanied Minor service. As each airline sets their own Unaccompanied Minor policies and fees, it is advisable to contact the airline directly for specific information.

No. Any fees associated with traveling as an Unaccompanied Minor are not included in the program tuition. Unaccompanied Minor fees are set by the airline and are considered part of your transportation cost, which is not included in the program tuition. Please keep this in mind when choosing your airline.

Envision offers the option to purchase Tuition and Travel Protection Plan coverage through US Fire. Plans contain both insurance coverage, underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company, as well as non-insurance assistance services provided by On Call International. You may purchase this plan when you enroll. You also may select this option after enrollment through your post-enrollment page at MyEnvisionExperience.com. Please note that the benefits, terms & conditions may vary by state. If you or your parents would like more specifics about the Tuition and Travel Protection Plan, please call the plan administrator at (866) 282-3987.

Students should bring money for offsite meals, snacks, and any gifts or souvenirs. We recommend bringing $15-25 for offsite meals. Students will visit gift stores on campus and excursions.

Program FAQs

Your safety and well-being during the program is our highest priority. The program is structured so that you will reside in a safe, controlled environment. You will be closely supervised by professionally trained staff, including advisors who serve as educational facilitators and chaperones, security personnel, operations personnel, and a program lead.

For over 35 years, Envision has achieved a stellar record of safely and successfully enriching the lives of students, providing them with superb educational experiences and professional supervision. Other Envision safety measures include:

  • Greeting students at the designated airport upon their arrival, providing shuttle service directly to the program site, and providing shuttle service back to the airport on Departure Day*
  • Maintaining an overall student-to-staff ratio of 17 to 1
  • Attendance is taken throughout the program, and students are required to attend all program activities
  • Checking rooms nightly and working with hotel security for any after-hours concerns
  • Staff member rooms are interspersed among student rooms on each hallway in residential housing
  • Equipping all staff members with two-way communication devices

*There is an additional fee for shuttle service.

Gaining independence, including experiencing new things on your own, is an essential part of your growth during the program, so your parents or guardians are not allowed to accompany you. However, they and your other family members are welcome to enroll in the NYLF Law & CSI Family Program .

Available during all sessions, this program allows attendees to enjoy a unique D.C. experience while preparing for your college transition. Family program attendees will also join NYLF Law & CSI scholars for select portions of the program, including a speaking event, a simulation, and more.

You are permitted to bring a mobile phone to keep in touch with parents, but it must be turned off during program activities. You may call home before activities begin in the morning and after they have ended in the evening.

Your parents or guardians will have the telephone number to the program’s site office, where they can leave you messages. Additionally, parents and guardians may email the office should they need to relay information to you.

Yes, we encourage you to enroll. Envision by WorldStrides believes in working with families to accommodate student needs and encourages the participation of students who feel prepared to meet the academic, social, physical, and emotional demands of the program environment. We may be able to provide appropriate auxiliary staff and services to assist students as needed if notified in advance. We encourage families, guardians, legal representatives, or educators to contact the Office of Admissions for more information and to discuss particular accommodations before applying for enrollment in the program.

We make every effort to meet the dietary needs of all our students, provided the request is submitted prior to the start of the conference. When you complete the Student Information Form, you will have the opportunity to make special dietary requests.

Different programs have their own dress codes, but in general, students are expected to be professional and presentable during program activities and course time. Comfortable shoes should be worn, as students will be walking a great deal during most programs. Detailed information about your specific program’s dress code will be included in your acceptance materials and on MyEnvisionExperience.com .

Attending an Envision program is fun, but it is also an honor. Like all meaningful experiences, you only get out of it what you put into your time spent at this exciting forum. You are expected to conduct yourself as a mature and responsible leader as you represent your school and community. You must abide by the Student Code of Conduct. You must also abide by and uphold all conference rules. Failure to do this may result in dismissal from the program and forfeiture of tuition.

Envision is a leading experiential education organization dedicated to enabling students of all ages to explore their interests and gain critical learning experiences beyond the classroom. All Envision programs are designed to align with Common Core State Standards and other national standards for education.

Envision is a tuition-based, self-supporting organization, with many students securing financial support from local business, civic, community and leadership organizations. Scholarship funds are also available for qualified nominees.

No. Envision is a nonpartisan educational organization.

Travel Insurance Plans

For canadian and u.s. groups.

JSED_Insurance Hero Image_v1

Remember, many things can happen that might cause you to cancel or shorten your travel plans. Worse, without adequate protection, you risk losing your travel investment. Purchasing insurance can protect your travel investment if your trip is cancelled or interrupted due to a covered reason, and it can also provide parents with peace of mind while their child is on tour. As you prepare to register for your upcoming student tour, make sure to gather all pertinent information regarding Travel Insurance for your trip. You can view our Travel Protection Plans below and speak with your Travel Consultant about adding one of these products to your student tour, or verify with your preferred travel insurance provider before registering for your trip.

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

It is your responsibility to be REAL ID compliant. If you’re not sure, check your state driver’s licensing agency on how to obtain a REAL ID compliant card.

Do I need a REAL ID for my trip?

If you are traveling via US domestic carrier , then beginning May 7, 2025, you must have a State Issued REAL ID to board a domestic flight within the U.S. If you are traveling on a motor coach or train within the US, a REAL ID driver’s license or identification card is optional. For more information on the Real ID and how your State of residence is handling it, please visit, https://www.dhs.gov/real-id .

Do I need a REAL ID if I am under 18 by date of travel?
