Undoubtedly the best tour and guide we have ever experienced.

Let me start by saying I seldom ever give written reviews. Usually I just check the stars box and leave the site. However, in this case I have to make an exception. The tour was absolutely outstanding. From ease of booking, to the tour and sights but particularly the guide. My wife and I have taken numerous tours around the world but none can compare with the tour of Gibraltar and our guide Luigi. He obviously loves his job and was obliging, engaging and extremely knowledgable of the history and sights of Gibraltar. I expect this partly comes from the fact that he and his family have been citizens of Gibraltar for generations and actually experienced some of the history. We had a short time frame (arriving about 4pm on day 1 and leaving at 1pm the following day). Luigi picked us up at our hotel in a clean comfortable vehicle, completed the tour and dropped us of at the border to get our departing transportation. On the 3-4 hour tour we experienced all of the major attractions. The Rock, the caves, the views, the monkeys and Europa point. Without this tour our experience in Gibraltar would have been so-so, at best. Highly recommend Tours of Gibraltar and Luigi.

Our guide Grant was truly exceptional . His knowledge and calm manner really enhanced our trip. Nothing was too much trouble (also impressed that he had walked the Camino and had run with the bulls in Pamplona and was able to bring personal experience to these moments). The trip was informative an we saw more than we could ever have seen on our own , but the highlights were the days we had more than one night stay and had more time on our own . The bus had wifi which was great. The special moments included - Cordoba Cathedral, The Alhambra, The aqueduct in Segovia, The free time in the Costa del Sol, The opera singing waiters in Madrid, Bilbao, Seville ...too many to recommend. I would have liked a bit more time in Barcelona and sometimes the included and optional dinners were ordinary. I was very impressed that beers & wine were included with most meals.

What people love about gibraltar tours.

I really loved our tour guide Ana Rita Lima. She helped us through a couple rough patches and I appreciate that. Very energetic and delightful!! I loved every bit of the tour except the hotel quality on the first night of the tour. It needed a vending machine that worked and more opportunity to get snacks upon arrival. It was just very basic. Also the hotel in ( I can't remember which city) we didn't have air conditioning. Our tour guide told us of where to be cautious (pick pockets) and some things we should be aware of. I appreciate that they stopped regularly for food and bathrooms breaks. Our driver, Rui, ( proved to have great skill, navigating in traffic, fog, rain and parking!! Overall, a great tour, with important history and valuable information!! With the exception of two poor quality hotels it was a memory that will last a life time. By the way, the Best Western in Barcelona is much better than the one we stayed in on the tour.

Overall good highlights package but some glaring omissions. Too many cathedrals at the expense of equally compelling alternatives in all cities. Optional excursions generally worthwhile but those with meals not worth the price. Most meals were good but not memorable.

Giancarlo milanta.

Managing Director

Giancarlo was born in Gibraltar and has lived here all his life. He is really passionate about his country. His mother's surname, Grima, can be traced back the original Maltese families which immigrated to Gibraltar and some Italian influence on the dad side of the family Milanta. Giancarlo is fluent in English and Spanish. He is President and Founder of the Gibraltar Kickboxing Association.

Malcolm Martin

Malcolm was born and raised in Gibraltar. Malcolm is an outgoing person who is fluent in English and Spanish. He is a Football Coach at Lincoln Red Imps, Gibraltar's biggest football club. He has been coaching kids for the past 12 years and his dream is to become Gibraltar's National Coach.

Dominic Francis

Dominic is a proud 5th generation Gibraltarian, He is fluent in English, Spanish and Llanito and has a BA honors in language studies from the OU. Dominic is the Vice-President of Kidney Care Gibraltar, his mothers surname Morello relates back to those arriving from Genoa in the 16th century and his fathers surname Francis relates back to the territories strong links with the British. With his 40+ years driving experience you know your in safe hands.

“My wife and I visited Gibraltar April 26 – 28, 2018.  We were fortunate to meet Giancarlo after crossing the border.  He delivered us to our hotel and gave us advice on how to see the local sights.  He also gave us his number in case we wanted to explore the whole country with a private guide.  We decided to take him up on that offer and on Friday morning our guide and driver, Malcolm, picked us up at our hotel right on time.  We couldn’t have been more pleased with Malcolm, the van and the knowledge of the history and sites he shared with us.  He took us to the top of the Rock to meet the monkeys and that was a hoot.  Having monkeys rest on your head and shoulders was not what I had in mind but Malcolm told us not to touch the monkeys and everything would be fine!  One by one we allowed a monkey to rest on our heads for photos and I for one was impressed by the softness of their paws.  Rocky Monkey Gibraltar Tours is definitely the premier way to see Gibraltar at a very reasonable cost!”

How can I pay for the tour online?

We will require a £100 deposit via Bank Transfer which is ‘Non Refundable’ and the rest is paid in cash on completion of the tour.

Are there additional charges for late arrival to the meeting point?

We will try and be flexible on arrival and also on time spent at each site as we need to keep to schedule. Extra time on the tour or late arrivals will have a charge of £100/Hr rate.

What is the minimum number of persons that can take a tour?

We are happy to take groups of any size, the prices will vary depending on type of tour etc.

Do children need to be accompanied by parents on this tour?

Yes, children under the age of 16 would need to be accompanied by parent or guardian.

Do you need to wear any special type of clothing on this tour?

Special or protective clothing is not necessary during our tours. Our minibus will keep you cool and comfortable as you enjoy all the sights.

Does the minibus have to be full before the tour goes ahead?

Not necessarily, there will be options to share the bus with others or you can opt to take your group or family on a private tour at an extra cost.

Can I opt to visit just some of the sites offered and also add more sites to the tour?

Yes this is possible on a private tour where you will not be sharing the minibus with other clients.

I have a group of 5 persons, what is the extra cost so we can take a private tour?

Our minibuses fit 8 persons so you would pay the empty seats, price is always negotiable depending on season, date and total time to complete the tour.

Can I pay on a Credit or Debit Card?

Currently we do not have the facilities to take card payments. You will be asked to make a ‘Non Refundable’ deposit to book your tour and this can be done via Bank Transfer. The balance will have to be paid in cash to the Tour-guide on the day.

Jutting out dramatically into the Mediterranean straits between Spain and Morocco, this enclave of British territory has long been a bastion of fortification, much-coveted by the region’s incumbent military and much-hated by its many invaders since it was first garrisoned in the Middle Ages. St Michael's Cave

This Gibraltar Essential bus tour consists of approximately 1hr 30mins duration which starts by picking you up from any destination in Gibraltar.

Essential Tour 1.30hrs it consists of three stops which include Europe point, St Michael’s Cave & Apes Den with the monkeys. On our drive down from the nature reserve park you will see the outside of Moorish Castle and the old town of Gibraltar.

We begin the coach tour by driving towards Europe point where we'll stop for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. This sight is located at the southernmost point at the end of the Rock of Gibraltar. Here you will see breathtaking views across the Strait of Gibraltar into North Africa and Morocco, along with the bay of Gibraltar and the Spanish towns along its shores.

The next site is St Michael’s Cave. Which sees thousands of visitors a year wandering through its huge caverns with just a few steps and easy access. This amazing, natural phenomenon created by rainwater slowly seeping through the limestone rock, turning into a weak carbonic acid which gradually dissolved the rock millions of years ago.

In 2021 St Michael's Cave introduced a new lighting upgrade for the very best experience of the caves natural beauty, called The Awakening. Enjoy St Michael's cave like never before!

An immersive light and sound installation expressing layer upon layer of history fused with the rock. The ancient cavern lays dormant. The Awakening illuminates sculptures older than time and reawakens their hidden story..

Visit the Famous Monkeys of Gibraltar

After the cave we'll visit one of the most famous tourist attractions in Gibraltar - The Apes Den to visit the monkeys! Here we'll see and share some time with our famous Monkeys. The Barbary Macaque Apes are the only ones to be found within the continent of Europe. They reside at the upper rock nature reserve of Gibraltar.

At present there are over 200 apes in 6 packs that roam throughout the upper rock. Legend has it that in 1942 the population of apes fell to just 7 and the Prime Minister of Great Britain (Sir Winston Churchill) ordered that the population of the apes be immediately replenished because as long as there are Barbary Macaques Apes on the Rock of Gibraltar it will remain under British rule.

Moorish Castle and Old Town of Gibraltar

On the drive down from the Upper rock Nature Reserve we will see the outside of the Moorish Castle, you will be able to see the history and battle scars due to cannon ball shots against the castle between the wars of the Moors and the Spanish. The Moorish Castle is a medieval fortification in Gibraltar which is made up of a number of buildings.

The Moorish Castle stands proudly on the Eastern elevation of the Rock, a proud symbol of the long and colourful history of the Rock of Gibraltar originally built in the 1160CE. It was ransacked by the Spanish between 1309 – 1333. This 'Tower of Homage' was rebuilt in the 14th century by Abu-l-Hasan. You'll be able to look closely to see the cannon dents in the castle walls.

As we exit the nature reserve park we will drive through the old town of Gibraltar.
