TripAdvisor Traveler Rating
Go out on adventure and discover Mangel Halto, offering some of Aruba's best snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding.
This secluded beach is a perfect sunning and snorkelling spot in Aruba with calm, shallow waters rich in sea life supported by an intriguing network of mangroves.
Sunbathers who like a quiet beach and their privacy tend to go here. The public beach huts and shaded areas are also perfect for a beach picnic or to watch Aruba's sunset. The area offers a sandy beach, a wooden sun deck and access through the mangroves for open water kayaking and SUP boarding.
Mangel Halto Beach also serves as an excellent shore diving site in Aruba. It is possible to walk out to the edge of the reef to see such fish as parrot fish, yellowtail snapper, sergeant majors and blue tangs as well as deep-water gorgonians, sponges and anemones. The reef plunges to depths of 110m where octopi, morays and barracuda abound.

Dip Your Toes In The Water During Dinner At This Caribbean Island's Most Unique Restaurant
A ruba offers visitors a wealth of experiences, including out-of-this-world beaches and the Arikok National Park , one of the most mesmerizing national parks in the Caribbean . Nevertheless, one of the best things to do in Aruba is dine at Flying Fishbone . You'll find the unique establishment in Savaneta, about 20 minutes from Oranjestad, Aruba's capital. USA Today previously named Flying Fishbone one of the best restaurants in the country, and with good reason. Anything but ordinary, the seafood eatery takes beachside dining to another level. Flying Fish opened its doors in 1997 and has dining tables on the sand and in the water. Yes, you can enjoy your meal with an ocean view while soaking your feet in the salty sea.
Reviewers on Tripadvisor agree that dining at Flying Fishbone is a one-of-a-kind experience. In March 2024, one individual wrote, "We came here 12 years ago for our 25th wedding anniversary, and booked to come back for my husbands 60th birthday. This time we had a table with our feet in the water, and yes a crab scuttled over my toes. Scenic view, water and sunset the most romantic setting." However, reviewers praise Flying Fishbone for more than this unique feature. They also note that it has exquisite food.

Know Before You Go To Flying Fishbone
Flying Fishbone's menu features dishes inspired by Caribbean and European fare. While it specializes in seafood, it also offers red meat and poultry dishes. Options include Peruvian ceviche, a fish of the day served with veggies and mashed potatoes, French onion soup, a beef teriyaki skewer, and much more. You can also choose from desserts like Baked Alaska and crème brûlée and a wide variety of alcohol, such as Moët & Chandon.
Keep in mind that a meal at the Flying Fish won't come cheap. TripAdvisor lists its price range as $$$$. In other words, diners can expect to pay top dollar for their meal. This might not be a surprise given the views and delectable ambiance (seen in the TikTok above) provided by the restaurant. That said, you can make a reservation at Flying Fishbone online up to six months before your visit. If you want a table in the water, you must make a reservation for 4:00 p.m.
It would also help if you made a reservation long before heading to Aruba. In a TikTok , @daria.newyork revealed she booked her table on the water two months in advance. Despite being an upscale eatery, Flying Fishbone has a casual dress code. Wear sandals or any shoes you don't mind getting sandy or wet. Flying Fishbone opens daily from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Explore And Stay In Savaneta
Savaneta is a historic and hidden gem destination that puts a laidback spin on a Dutch Carribean getaway . Although Flying Fishbone is a must-do in the area, it's not its only allure. You'll also find Mangel Halto Beach (pictured) in this town. Known for its breathtaking clear waters, it's an inviting snorkeling and swimming spot. In addition, visitors can book a kayak tour in Savaneta with Clear Kayak Aruba . As the name suggests, the kayaks have clear bottoms so visitors can view the flourishing wildlife found in Savaneta. You can choose from a two-hour day tour ($70 per person) and a night tour ($80 per person). The day tour includes a stop at Mangel Halto Beach.
Looking for a place to stay in Savaneta? The Coral Reef Beach Apartments are a brief walk from Flying Fishbone, which manages these accommodations. It offers eight rooms varying in size for visitors. Located steps away from the sea, all but one has an ocean view. Amenities include wifi, maid service, hammocks, and more. Rates start at $130 a night. Note that guests must stay for a minimum of three days. You can request a reservation for the Coral Reef Beach Apartments online .
