Megadeth, Lamb of God, Trivium + In Flames Announce 2022 Leg of ‘Metal Tour of the Year’

The "Metal Tour of the Year" is back for a second time with a U.S. leg booked for the spring with co-headliners Megadeth and Lamb of God alongside special guests Trivium and In Flames .

The inaugural leg was originally set for 2020, but the pandemic forced a postponement until 2021 and the run finally got underway last summer, although Hatebreed were tabbed as the opener after In Flames announced they would not be able to make it.

Now, the original "Metal Tour of the Year" lineup will band together for a 23-date jaunt that will begin on April 9 in Las Vegas and wrap up on May 15 in Allentown, Pennsylvania after criss-crossing the country.

Having announced a show in Caesars Windsor in Ontario, Canada , earlier this week, Megadeth has now confirmed a string of new US tour dates leading up to their sets at the Aftershock and Louder Than Life festivals. They’ll be joined by the reunited classic lineup of Biohazard for the East Coast shows, which take place in September. You can check out the two bands’ itineraries below.

The shows include an Atlantic City, NJ date on September 17 at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena. Tickets to that and all dates go on sale Friday, July 14 at 10 AM EDT, with various presales happening now. Visit Megadeth’s official website for further information.

The original lineup of Biohazard — bassist-vocalist Evan Seinfeld, guitarist-vocalist Billy Graziadei, guitarist Bobby Hambel and drummer Danny Schuler — played their first show together in over a decade in June, coming together onstage at the Jamey Jasta-resurrected Milwaukee Metal Fest.

Last September, Megadeth released the highly anticipated The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! to both fan and critical acclaim. The album debuted at the top of the charts during its first week of sales, taking the No. 3 spot on the Billboard 200 as well as number ones on Top Album Sales, Top Current Albums Sales, Top Rock & Alternative Album, Top Rock Albums, and Top Hard Rock Albums.

Megadeth is about to kick off a series of summer festival shows in Europe in Katowice, Poland, on July 23. On August 13, Dave Mustaine and company play at Bloodstock Open Air Festival at Catton Park, Walton on Trent in the UK.

An awesome show that reminded me of the reasons why I love Megadeth. My son was so happy that I took him along too, he said it was the best experience ever and that he now understood what it was like to at 80’s metal music gig. We both can’t wait to see them again. Hope they do their own tour soon.

AMAZING!!! I had the best time, I just wish I had the money to meet the band. I did get to meet the Drummer from the first band. He was bad ass! Really nice, I just can read their name.

This was the 3rd time seeing Megadeth, second time at the Revention Center. Awsome venue and just the right size. Thankful I was able to get to the front and your security was awesome. They bring you fresh water!

Amazing night!!

What can I say...I was at a sold out 1,600 person venue with Megadeth literally feet away from me. It was more than awesome. The guitar playing was amazing (from lead, rhythm and bass) and drummer did a solid job. Ellefson was really into it (considering he grew up near here) and Mustaine sounded great and seemed to enjoy it. Highly recommend for anyone with remote interest.

Megadeth Announce 2023 Tour Dates with Biohazard

This fall, Megadeth have added a few dates to their Crush The World Tour in North America. The trek features the original lineup of Biohazard as special guests. Check out the itinerary below.

Back in April, Megadeth launched the tour in Canada along with Bullet For My Valentine.

Last month, the original lineup of Biohazard – featuring Evan Seinfeld, Billy Graziadei, Danny Schuler, and Bobby Hambel – reunited for two sold out shows at Irving Plaza in New York City. In September, the band is slated to perform at Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Virginia along with Megadeth and many more. Biohazard are reportedly working on a new studio album.

Megadeth’s latest album  The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!  arrived last September via Tradecraft/UMG. MEGADETH played its first concert in six months at the kick-off of the band's South American tour on Saturday, April 6 at Arena 1 in Lima, Peru.

Finnish guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari joined MEGADETH last September after the band's longtime axeman Kiko Loureiro , announced earlier that month that he would sit out the next leg of MEGADETH 's "Crush The World" tour in order to stay home with his children back in Finland. It was later revealed that Mäntysaari would continue to play guitar for MEGADETH for the foreseeable future, with Loureiro seemingly having no plans to return.

The 37-year-old Mäntysaari was born in Tampere, Finland and began playing guitar at the age of 12. In 2004, he joined the band WINTERSUN . He has also been a member of SMACKBOUND since 2015.

MEGADETH played its first concert with Mäntysaari on September 6, 2023 at Revel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Loureiro officially joined MEGADETH in April 2015, about five months after Chris Broderick 's exit from the group.

MEGADETH 's sold-out shows at Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, 2024 will be broadcast live on Veeps .
