Karnataka Elections 2023: PM Modi holds 26-km mega roadshow in Bengaluru | VIDEO

Pm modi road show in bengaluru: on may 7, pm modi will also address four public meetings in different parts of the state. pm modi is also expected to visit karnataka on the last day of the election campaigning for which preparations are already on..

Sheenu Sharma

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Karnataka on Friday (May 5) for the final leg of poll campaigning.

The 26-km mega roadshow will be held between 10:00 am and 1.30 pm from Brigade Millennium of JP Nagara to Maramma Circle in Malleshwaram in Bengaluru Central. Over 10 lakh people are expected to take part in the road show.

The second leg of the roadshow will commence at 10:00 am in Bengaluru on Sunday (May 7).

Modi's roadshow timings changed due to NEET exams:

Keeping NEET examinations in mind, the Karnataka BJP made changes in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day roadshow in Bengaluru, ahead of the Assembly polls in the state, by scheduling an extensive event on May 6 and a shorter one on May 7, Union Minister of State Shobha Karandlaje said on Friday.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is scheduled on May 7 (Sunday).

"PM Narendra Modi's road show will be on May 6 and 7, preparations are on for it. We had shared information in that regard to the public through the press. However, you (media) people informed us about the NEET exams on May 7 at 2:00 pm, and the 26 km roadshow will cause inconvenience for (students writing) exams," Karandlaje said. Speaking to reporters, she said, this was brought it to the notice of the Prime Minister, and Modi who pays special attention to children with initiatives such as 'Pariksha pe Charcha', asked us to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to even a single student going to the exam centre at any cost.

So the PM directed the state BJP to make changes in the programme, she said, as desired by him, certain changes have been made in the programme.

"Earlier we had said on May 6 that there would be a 10 km road show, and on May 7 it would be 26 km. Changing that we will be now holding long distance one of 26 km on May 6 from Someshwar Bhavan RBI Ground in Bengaluru South to Malleshwaram's Sankey Tank between 10 am to 1.30 pm, and shorter one of about 10 km one between Kempegowda statue at Thippasandra to Trinity circle, that can be completed soon, will be held on Sunday from 10 am to 11/11:30 am, she said.

Further noting that not many exam centres are located on the stretch where the roadshow will be held on Sunday, she said if there are any students coming from that region, on showing their hall tickets, police officials have been directed to ensure that they reach exam centres on time. The roadshow, earlier scheduled to be held for eight hours on Saturday alone, was then split into two parts- on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 1. 30 pm to prevent inconvenience to the general public in case the rally is held for a full day.

Accusing the Congress of conspiring to disrupt the roadshow on Saturday, by getting the ambulances linked to their workers and well-wishers or hospitals run by them, at places along the stretch of 26 km which the PM is likely complete in about 3 hours, Karandlaje said, they have conspired to bring a bad name to the Prime Minister's roadshow.

"We have requested the police to ensure that ambulances with patients reach the hospitals on time without any hindrance, we have also discussed with SPG in this regard. We are following up things," she said.

Bengaluru Police Traffic arrangements:

Previous roadshows of PM Modi:

Earlier on April 29 (Saturday), PM Modi had conducted a 5.3-kilometre long roadshow in Bengaluru that passed through various locations in the city including Magadi Road, Nice Road Junction and Sumanahalli.

On May 7, PM Modi will also address four public meetings in different parts of the state. PM Modi is also expected to visit Karnataka on the last day of the election campaigning for which preparations are already on.

Even during the Gujarat elections, Prime Minister took out a roadshow of more than 25 kilometres covering 19 assembly constituencies of Ahmedabad. Earlier, on Tuesday, Prime Minister held a mega roadshow in Kalaburagi.

During the roadshow, people queued up on both sides of the road through which the Prime Minister's cavalcade passed and cheered for him. They also showered flower petals on him. While riding on the top of a truck, PM Modi greeted people by waving his hands. The BJP is eyeing a second term in the state and has exuded confidence in retaining power with a full majority.

Voting will take place on May 10 and the results are out on May 13.

Congress party against PM Modi's road show:

The Congress party had appealed to the Election Commission not to permit the roadshow of PM Modi. However, the Commission has given a green signal. The ruling BJP is hoping to recover from the anti-incumbency factor with PM Modi's visit. The Bajrang Dal ban proposal has also helped the BJP to gain grounds at the fag end of election campaigning in Karnataka.

The BJP has challenged Congress to ban Bajrang Dal and claimed that it has "insulted" Lord Hanuman. The party also aims to wrestle a major chunk of 28 seats of Bengaluru city with PM Modi's outreach to voters.

PM Modi Karnataka Visit Live: PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone Of Two Jal Jeevan Mission Projects

Modi will inaugurate the india energy week (iew) 2023 in bengaluru which will be held from february 6-8.

PM Modi Karnataka Visit Live: PM Modi Lays Foundation Stone Of Two Jal Jeevan Mission Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday will make his third visit to poll-bound Karnataka in the last one month. The PM will inaugurate 'India Energy Week 2023' in Bengaluru, during which he will launch E20 fuel, a blend of 20 per cent ethanol with petrol, and dedicate to the nation the HAL's helicopter factory in Tumakuru, on Monday. He will also lay the foundation stone of various development initiatives during the visit. This will be Modi's third visit to the poll-bound state in less than a month.

The PM visited Hubballi on January 12 where he inaugurated a national youth festival and staged a massive roadshow, and later on, on January 19 was in Yadgiri and Kalaburagi districts where he sought to woo voters by showcasing the development and social welfare programmes thereby giving the ruling BJP a launchpad in the run-up to the Assembly elections due by April-May.

Modi will inaugurate the India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru which will be held from February 6-8, aimed to showcase India's rising prowess as an energy transition powerhouse.

The event is expected to bring together leaders from the traditional and non-traditional energy industry, governments, and academia to discuss the challenges and opportunities that a responsible energy transition presents, an official release said.

It will see the presence of more than 30 ministers from across the world, the release said, adding that over 30,000 delegates, 1,000 exhibitors and 500 speakers will gather to discuss the challenges and opportunities of India's energy future.

During the programme, Modi will participate in a roundtable interaction with global oil and gas CEOs. He will also launch multiple initiatives in the field of green energy.

In line with the ethanol blending roadmap, the Prime Minister will launch E20 fuel at 84 retail outlets of oil marketing companies in 11 states/ union territories.

E20 is a blend of 20 per cent ethanol with petrol, the release said, adding the government aims to achieve a complete 20 per cent blending of ethanol by 2025, and oil marketing companies are setting up 2G-3G ethanol plants that will facilitate the progress.

Modi will also flag off the 'Green Mobility Rally', a rally which will witness participation of vehicles running on green energy sources, and it is expected to help create public awareness for green fuels.

The Prime Minister will also be launching the uniforms under the 'Unbottled' initiative of Indian Oil. With a vision to phase out single-use plastic, Indian Oil has adopted uniforms for retail customer attendants and LPG delivery personnel made from recycled polyester (rPET) and cotton.

He will also dedicate the twin-cooktop model of Indian Oil's indoor solar cooking system and flag off its commercial roll-out.

Later around 3.30 PM, Modi will be in Tumakuru to dedicate to the nation the HAL helicopter factory.

Its foundation stone was also laid by the Prime Minister in 2016. It is a dedicated greenfield helicopter factory which will enhance the capacity and ecosystem to build helicopters.

This helicopter factory is Asia's largest helicopter manufacturing facility and will initially produce Light Utility Helicopters (LUH).

The factory will be expanded to manufacture other helicopters such as Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Indian Multirole Helicopter (IMRH) as well as for repair and overhaul of LCH, LUH, Civil ALH and IMRH in the future. The factory also has the potential for exporting the Civil LUHs in future.

This facility will enable India to meet its entire requirement of helicopters indigenously and will attain the distinction of enabling self-reliance in helicopter design, development and manufacture in India.

Modi will lay the foundation stone of Tumakuru Industrial Township. Under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, the development of the industrial township spread across 8,484 acres in three phases in Tumakuru has been taken up as part of the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor.

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stones of two Jal Jeevan Mission projects at Tiptur and Chikkanayakanahalli in Tumakuru.

Congress MP and general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala, addressing the reporters on Wednesday in Bengaluru and commenting on Chairman of Indian Overseas Congress Sam Pitroda's remark, asked people to not believe in 'Mr Adani's agenda,' news agency ANI reported.

Sam Pitroda, during a recent interview, had said that the inheritance tax in America was an interesting law and could be issues that people could debate and discuss. “In America, there is an inheritance tax. BJP looks to retain Chikkaballapur, once a Congress stronghold, with JD(S) help

Located along the Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh border, Chikkaballapur was a Congress stronghold in 10 Lok Sabha polls between 1977 and 2014. It is now among the south Karnataka constituencies where the BJP hopes its alliance with the JD(S) will help it win.

Chikkaballapur is part of the belt where the Vokkaliga community is dominant. According to estimates, the community constitutes around a third of the population in the constituency, which also has a sizeable number of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Lingayat, Balija and minority voters.

The Congress won Chikkaballapur five times between 1977 and 1991 and as many times between 1998 and 2014.
