Some multiple-entry visas and travel authorizations allow a specific number of visits . For example, double-entry and triple-entry visas would be considered sub-types of multiple-entry visas. The Sri Lanka Tourist ETA is one example of a double-entry travel authorization.

In most cases, multiple-entry visas allow the holder to enter the country of issue an unlimited number of times until the expiry date. An example is the Australia ETA .

How Long Is a Multiple-Entry Visa Valid For?

Visa validity periods vary depending on the country of issue . In some cases, the traveler may also be able to choose between different validity lengths.

Multiple-entry visas and travel authorizations often have long periods of validity .

Some examples include:

• Canada eTA — valid for 5 years
• US ESTA — valid for 2 years
• Australia eVisitor visa and ETA  — both valid for 1 year

In some case, it is possible to choose between a single-entry and a multiple-entry visa. One example is the Turkey e-Visa , which is valid for 180 days.

Although the period of validity is usually long for multiple-entry visas and travel authorizations, there is usually a limit to the length of time the holder can spend in the country each visit.

For example, the Canada eTA is valid for 5 years and the holder can visit as many times as they want. However, each stay can last for a maximum of 6 months .

Multiple journey visa extended to 10 years for visitors from China

SINGAPORE — Nationals from the People’s Republic of China will be able to extend the validity of their Multiple Journey Visas for up to a maximum of 10 years from June 1, the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said in a statement today (May 15).

The visa allows Chinese visitors to come and go from Singapore without having to reapply each time. If the main applicant is eligible, the same facility will also be extended to their spouse and children under the age of 21, said ICA. The application process and processing fee for the visa remains unchanged.

ICA added: “The move will provide greater convenience for PRC nationals, especially business travellers, who travel often to Singapore.”

Eligible applicants will also be able to use the automated immigration clearance at Singapore’s checkpoints, said ICA, adding that more details will be announced at a later date.

Extended validity of Multiple Journey Visa will help attract more visitors to Singapore

Singapore, 15 May 2015  – The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) welcomes the announcement by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) today of visa measures ( Annex A ) that will extend the validity of Multiple Journey Visas (MJVs) issued to nationals from the People's Republic of China (PRC), up to a maximum of 10 years.

The extended validity of the MJVs will reduce the hassle of having to reapply for a visa for each trip, and make it more convenient for PRC tourists to visit Singapore. This will enhance STB's efforts to increase visitor arrivals and tourism spending, which will benefit Singapore businesses and workers in tourism-related sectors such as hotels, attractions, dining and retail. 

"This move will support STB's strategy of promoting quality tourism and attracting visitors from our key source markets. It is also timely as we intensify our destination marketing efforts this year, with an exciting calendar of activities planned in conjunction with Singapore's 50th anniversary.  Besides China, STB is also reaching out to visitors from other key markets including Indonesia, India and Australia", said Mr Leong Yue Kheong, Assistant Chief Executive, International Group, STB.

In addition, STB is working with our embassy in China to expand the network of Authorised Visa Agents so that PRC visitors have more channels to apply for Singapore visas. 

As part of its marketing efforts to drive travel demand from the PRC, STB's China office had launched a micro-movie by Singaporean director Royston Tan on 15 April 2015. Extension Of Validity Of Multiple Journey Visa For Nationals Of The People's Republic Of China

            With effect from 1 June 2015, the validity of the Multiple Journey Visas (MJVs) issued to nationals from the People’s Republic of China (PRC) can be extended up to a maximum of 10 years. The same facility will also be extended to his spouse and children below the age of 21, if the main applicant is eligible. The visa application process and processing fee remain unchanged. As with MJVs offered to other nationals under Singapore’s visa framework, PRC nationals with a valid MJV need not apply for a visa each time they visit Singapore.

Q1) How do I apply for a 10-year Multiple-Journey Visa (MJV)?

Ans: PRC nationals need not apply separately for a Multiple Journey Visa. Eligible travellers will automatically be granted a visa validity period of up to 10 years when they apply for a visa. PRC nationals can submit their visa applications through the authorised visa agents of the Overseas Missions in China. Please check the respective Overseas Mission's website for more information about the authorised visa agents and the visa application procedure. For those residing outside China, please also check the respective Overseas Mission's website for more information about the visa application procedure. Alternatively, you may also submit your visa application online via Submission of Application for Visa Electronically (SAVE) through a local contact who is a Singapore Citizen/Singapore Permanent Resident, and who is at least 21 years old with a SingPass account. For general information on how to apply for a visa, please refer to the ICA website at www.ica.gov.sg.

Q2) Who is eligible for a 10-year MJV?

Ans: Generally, PRC nationals will be considered for the 10-year MJV if they have previously visited Singapore and their visa application is supported by relevant Singapore agencies. While every visa application will be assessed on its own merits for eligibility, the validity period of the approved visa can vary.

Apply for an Employment Pass

You can apply for an Employment Pass online as an employer or appointed employment agent.

• See pass map  for an overview of what you need to do before, during and after you apply for an Employment Pass.

You may  check your application status online after 10 business days .

If your application is still pending after 10 business days, please check your email for our request of additional documents.

If additional information or documents are required:

• Your processing time may take longer than 10 working days.
• You will need to submit the documents . Click on ‘Work Passes’ on the left menu > Choose the application record > Select ‘Submit documents’. Alternatively, select ‘View details’ to see the action required from you.
• Otherwise, our email will inform you to submit them using our  online form .

If the pass is approved

• Print the in-principle approval (IPA) letter
• Send the pass holder's copy of the IPA to the candidate.
• Is a pre-approved single-entry visa for the candidate to enter Singapore . It gives the candidate 6 months to enter Singapore and get their pass issued. 
• States whether the candidate needs to go for a medical examination , which can be done after they arrive in Singapore.
• Make arrangements to bring in your candidates.

You should only bring in candidates when the pass is approved, as we will not be able to extend their visit pass.

For overseas company without a Singapore-registered office

For companies not registered in Singapore: you need to get a local sponsor to submit the application.

Processing time: within 8 weeks. Some cases will take more time.

• Show their IPA letter to the immigration officer. 
• Complete any required medical examinations.

The candidate must be in Singapore when you carry out these steps to get the pass issued: 

• Log in to EP eService  and provide the  required information and documents .
• $225 for each pass
• (If applicable) $30 for each Multiple Journey Visa
• Once the pass is issued, the candidate and you will both receive the notification letter by email. The notification letter is valid for  1 month  from the date of issue and:
• Allows the candidate to start work and travel in and out of Singapore while waiting for the pass card.
• States if registration of fingerprints and photo is required.

If the candidate needs more time to complete the card registration procedures, you can  request to extend the validity of the notification letter .

What you'll need

You will need the following information to get the pass issued: 

• Candidate's passport details
• Candidate’s Singapore contact details
• Candidate's current Short-Term Visit Pass (STVP) or immigration pass details
• Candidate's Singapore residential address, which must meet the  housing requirements
• Singapore residential or office address to receive the candidate’s card
• Details of up to 3 authorised recipients to receive the card (their mobile number and NRIC number, FIN or passport number) 

You may also need to upload PDF copies of these documents:

• Candidate’s passport page showing the date of arrival in Singapore 
• Completed medical examination form or medical declaration form
• Completed declaration form (attached to the candidate's IPA letter). The employer’s declaration of the form should be signed by an authorised human resource personnel, or an employee holding at least a managerial position.

If you need more time to get the pass issued as your candidates are waiting for their medical results, you can extend their STVP . Submit this request within 1 week before the STVP expires and upload the doctor's memo stating the medical results collection date.

(If required) Register fingerprints and photo Show

When: Within 2 weeks after pass is issued

Check the notification letter for whether the candidate needs to register fingerprints and photo.

If required, the candidate needs to complete registration within 2 weeks after pass is issued.

For registration, you must make an appointment for the candidate to visit the Employment Pass Services Centre (EPSC) .

For the appointment, the candidate should bring:

• Original passport
• Appointment letter
• Notification letter

Receive the card Show

We will deliver the card to the given address within  5 working days  after the candidate registers and gets documents verified at EPSC.

If the candidate does not need to register, we will deliver the card within 5 working days after checking the documents.

The authorised recipients will get an SMS or email with the delivery details at least 1 working day before the delivery.

Your employer or employment agent can also  check the card delivery  details.

If card delivery fails

After 2 unsuccessful deliveries, the candidate or an authorised person can collect the card at EPSC  after 3 working days . They do not need an appointment.

Multiple Entry Visa (for nationals of visa exemption countries/regions)

Currently, all foreign nationals who wish to newly enter Japan need to apply for a visa except for re-entry cases. Meanwhile, the visa exemption measures for passport holders of countries/regions eligible to visa exemption will be resumed from 0:00 am (JST) on October 11, 2022.

[For entrants until October 10, 2022]

Currently, all foreign nationals are required to obtain a visa before entering the country except for those with re-entry permit. Nationals of visa exemption countries/regions that are currently under temporary suspension will be able to apply for a multiple-entry short-term stay visa for the purposes of business affairs, etc (Note) and for the spouse or child of a Japanese national from September 7.

KenyaLink Facilitators

Linking Kenya To The World

This is issued to persons who by nature of their business or circumstances need to make frequent visits to Kenya. This visa lasts for 1 year.

REQUIREMENTS

The attention of all applicants for visas should be drawn to immigration requirements set out below:

• This visa can only be issued at the immigration offices. It CANNOT be issued at ports of entry, e.g. airport.
• Valid passports or other travel documents including Seaman’s Discharge Book, acceptable to the Government of Kenya are required for all persons wishing to enter Kenya.
• Passports must be valid for at least Six (6) Months.
• Passports must have a clean and a full visa page for endorsement.
• You must have entered Kenya at least 3 times in order to be eligible for the MJV
• It is only for those who will be frequently traveling to Kenya and will not be remaining in the country for longer than 2-3 months.
• This visa is only for those doing short consultancy work/short business trips/ short trainings . If you are formally employed/ contracted, your activities will include actual work or you are more than likely to “sit” in an office/ have duties assigned to you from the offices in Kenya, you are NOT eligible for this visa. You must either apply for a Special Pass or a Class D Permit.
• Applicants using the second method of application below must have a local connection in Kenya (in other words the applicant must be a consultant for a registered company in Kenya – those coming for marketing purposes not linked to a local company are not eligible for the MJV); the Kenyan company must be registered and must have an official P.O.Box and local phone number.
• Applicants from countries that are NOT required to pay for a tourist/single entry visa into Kenya, e.g. Uganda, are NOT eligible to apply for a Multi – Journey Visa.
• The USD bills must be from the year 2006 or later. Bills earlier than 2006, e.g. 2004, will not be accepted
• You MUST be present in Kenya when making the MJV application
• Those residing on MJV’s will not be eligible to apply for Permanent Residence or Citizenship.

MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISAS (MJV) FOR PURPOSE OF FAMILY VISITATION

REQUIREMENTS:

• Authorization Letter for KenyaLink Facilitators Limited if you will use our services (contact us for a draft letter)
• Two (2) visa application forms 22 to be duly filled, signed and dated. Click the following link to download form: gaining a kenyan visa-form 22 revised 2012
• Two (2) passport size photographs of the applicant (not older than 6 months, must be taken full face without hat, and the photographs must not be mounted. The size of the face must not be more than 2 ½ inches by 2 inches or less than 2 inches by 1 ½ inches. The photographs must be printed on normal thin photographic paper and must not be glazed).
• Two (2) copies of a Cover letter from the applicant detailing the need for an MJV – as the visa lasts for 1 year, your reason has to be solid. The letter needs to be addressed to THE DIRECTOR OF IMMIGRATION SERVICES, Nyayo House, Nairobi, KENYA.  The letter head must include a Kenyan physical address, a Kenyan P.O.BOX and a Kenyan phone number.
• Two (2) Copies of previous entry/visitor visas.
• Applicants applying for multiple journey Visa’s to visit their spouses/partners should avail in addition to the above, the following: –
• Two (2) copies of their spouse/partner’s National identity Card if Kenyan
• Two (2) copies of the Residential/Work permit if spouse/partner is a foreigner
• Two (2) copies of marriage certificate or in the case of a partner, two letters from the permit holder stating that he/she is a legal permit holder in Kenya and will therefore be requesting for frequent visits from his/her partner who lives outside of Kenya.
• Proof of sufficient funds to support spouse/partner visit (bank statements)
• Parents applying for Multiple journey Visa’s to Kenya to visit their children in schools should avail t wo (2) copies of valid pupil’s passes and copies of Valid residential permits in their countries of residence
• Processing fee is USD 10 (this will be paid in cash (USD currency) when submitting document)
• Fee is USD 100 (this will be paid in cash (USD currency) when submitting document)

MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISA APPLICATION FROM COMPANIES/ ORGANISATIONS

• Two (2) Copies of previous Kenya visas as well as copies of passport
• You must be on a valid Kenya visa during application
• Two (2) copies of a cover letter bearing the company/organization’s letterheads (two copies for the foreign company and two copies for the company based here in Kenya). The letter needs to be addressed to THE DIRECTOR OF IMMIGRATION SERVICES, Nyayo House, Nairobi, KENYA. The letterhead for the organization here in Kenya must include a physical and postal Kenyan address including Kenyan phone number.
• The letter should specify the reason for applicant’s frequent visits
• The letter should show connection between applicant and the company/organization
• The letter should have the name and signature of the person countersigning it (2 signatures from the organization is required).
• Two (2) copies of Registration Certificate (Certificate of Incorporation) of the organization you are working for/ with ( t wo (2) for the foreign country and two (2) for the company based here in Kenya )
• Two (2) copies of applicant’s resident permit if not residing in their country of nationality
• Fee is USD 100 (this will be paid in cash (USD currency) after your MJV is approved)

V2.15 Multiple journey visas

• their visits total no more than 9 months in any 18-month period, and
• they have not been in New Zealand for more than 9 months in the preceding 18-month period.
• In spite of the requirements in paragraphs (a) and (b) above, the spouse or partner of a work visa or work permit holder, or the spouse or partner of a student visa or student permit holder, may be issued with multiple journey visas current for periods equivalent to those applying to their partner, provided they are in a genuine and stable relationship (see E4.5.1 ).
