We booked a dinner cruise which was confirmed on several occasions but no food was provided on the tour.

Thank you for your review, The cruise you booked would have been the Sunset Cruise . The dinner cruise called is called the Chippewa dinner cruise. The cruise and dinner could not be offered at that price the sunset cruise price. We are have a lot fixed and variable costs to cover. The MV Chippewa is not just a restaurant it is a commercial vessel and with this considered you must realize why the dinner could not be offered at the sunset cruise price. Looking forward to a fine dining meal and the menu changed three times with the end result being cold pasta and cold pizza from Boston Pizza. The staff were not professional at all most of dressed in cutoff jean shorts. I booked this cruise 2 weeks in advance of the date expecting to have a proper table as we were the first couple to be put on board our table ended being a 4 ft x 6 ft piece of old wood and our location was right next to the washroom and engine room doors as this placement was quite narrow every time the staff and passengers went past or table we were bumped into spilling our drinks. I went to the captain to complain about the situation he said he would see what he could do in the meantime two other couples boarded they were both offered tables that were both set up for 4 people. So after the captain came by and mumbled under his breath “sorry about the table “ and nothing more was done. As we departed 45 min late for the cruise there no effort to announce to anyone on board the safety protocols in place in the event of any trouble. I must say that I would never recommend this cruise to anyone as the experience was totally unacceptable and unprofessional.

The M.V Chippewa adheres to all Transport Canada Regulations, including; providing the passenger safety message in at least one of Canadas' official languages prior to the departure. Our server deckhands can assist you if you have any questions while on the M.V Chippewa. Did you have a chance to look at the amazing scenery while on one of the most famous smalls ships in the world. The dinner provided is not fine dinning, and we do not advertise it as such. Despite booking our dinner cruise 2 weeks in advance and being the first party of two brought on board we were seated at a “table” which was a rotting, unfinished piece of wood on legs located right outside of the bathrooms. Everyone going by bumped into it and spilled our drinks. Despite my husband going to the person in charge about it nothing was done to remedy it. Dinner was lukewarm pasta from Boston Pizza with a bit of salad and about 1/4 of a slice of cold pizza. Dessert was cheesecake which was previously frozen, mine was still frozen in the middle. The wine was in a tiny plastic glass, two glasses combined with two cans of Pepsi was $17.00! Dinner and cruise nearly $100.00/person. Don’t waste you money here!

We booked this cruise weeks ago for our anniversary and received a confirmation when we booked and another confirmation on the day of the cruise. When we got there, there were more people than they had room for. I naturally assumed that since we had booked and paid, they would have a table for us. We were not the only people this happened to - two other families were in the same situation. The woman owner seemed annoyed that we were there, offered no apology and suggested we go to Boston Pizza! Never again!

Sunset Dinner Cruise

Went on a saturday evening for the sunset dinner cruise. The scenery was beautiful & food was good, the staff were very friendly and made sure everyone was having a good time. Overall, had a fantastic experience, would definitely recommend for a nice evening out.

We were disappointed that the Georgian Bay Biosphere had no running commentary. We were told before booking that a commentary by the captain will be available on our Tuesday afternoon cruise. When we mentioned about the commentary to the waitress, she said that the speakers were not working and that there hasn't been a commentary all season long. The waitress must have mentioned our disappointment to the captain that a crew member (we believe she was the mother of the captain) came to our table and provided some highlights of our cruise. Although she tried to be accommodating, she did not have the in-depth knowledge of the area. She did point out the tree that Tom Thompson painted and the Hole In The Wall as we were passing through it. Otherwise we would not have missed those key highlights. We were looking forward to this cruise to discover more of the topographies that Georgian Bay has to offer but left the cruise dissatisfied. However the vessel was quaint and Covid-19 protocols were being observed.

Great sunset cruise. Beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this trip. Took us to Depot Harbour and through the hold in the wall.

We went for a peaceful Saturday sunset cruise. We loved that it was a smaller boat, more intimate and family-ran. Got to see some beautiful sights that otherwise we never would've been able to!

It was an amazing boat ride. We got to see the sunset which was beautiful. Took a lot of pictures of the sunset and each other. I would recommend this to anyone in the Parry Sound area to book.

This cruise was very well organized. It left on time and returned on time. It's a family owned and run business which makes for a more personal experience. It's a small boat compared to the Island Queen but that's what we were looking for. There was a washroom on board and they served drinks and snacks for the 2 hr afternoon cruise. There were 14 customers and 3 personal on board for our cruise which made for a great experience.

Sent my parents for a "sunset" cruise" for their 45th Anniversary. Upon arrival they were greeted with congrats and later the staff apologized as it rained. The Saturday night dinner was delicious and the desert was served in a "fancy shell". The scenery was beautiful and they went outside for a time. They had a wonderful evening!

September 1, 2012 we were married aboard the Chippewa III sunset dinner cruise. It was more perfect that we could of ever imagined! Captain Greg, Sandy, Graham and Sandy & Greg's daughter (whose name escapes me, embarrassed) were absolutely FANTASTIC!! The weather was perfect, the sunset GLORIOUS, and the harvest moon rising was more than any couple could ever ask for! I highly recommend the Chippewa III for any cruise, but especially a romantic, intimate sunset wedding! THANK YOU for making our wedding better than we could of ever dreamed of!

Took the evening cruise. Didnt take the dinner option. Its a smaller boat and it does the work. Its was only short cruise , doing the south channel. Kids might get bored. They serve alcohol on the boat and not that expensive, beer was $4.50. Dinner was catered from the log cabin hotel

We went for the two hour afternoon cruise. Price was reasonable as were the prices of food and beverage on board. The boat is a former "Maid of the Mist" of Niagara Falls fame. It is a sturdy vessel with many years of experience. Capacity is about 50 to 60 people so the tour is much more intimate than it's larger rivals on the bay. Staff and owners are very friendly and helpful, making you feel welcome on board immediately. Our tour was around Parry Sound. There are others, including dinner cruises, and various destinations.

A former Maid of the Mist allows for more intimate groups for dinner, sunset cruises, trips to Henry's fish restaurant are all offered.

Greg and Sandy do a wonderful job introducing you to Georgian Bay and the wonderful scenery. Take the dinner or sunset cruise and treat yourself to a romantic adventure.
