The Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards is an oracle deck created by James Van Praagh , a world-renowned psychic medium who has written quite a few books on spirituality.

This deck features 44 cards depicting bright and colorful abstract imagery such as mandalas and sacred geometry.

This Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards are all about spiritual lessons we learn on our life path here on Earth and can be used to receive guidance from our Higher Selves and the Universe. So, how can we be guided by this oracle deck, and is it worth buying?

What is an oracle deck.

I love oracle decks because they can be about anything in the world! Like Tarot, they are used to guide us spiritually. However, unlike Tarot, they don’t really follow any rules. The meanings of the cards and what messages they send are all down to the creator of the deck.

Oracle decks allow us to understand ourselves and our connection with the universe around us. They do this in their own unique way, and they all aim to guide us on our journey in life.

There are oracle cards available in so many different styles and themes, from decks about spirit animals to decks about the power of colors ! So, what are The Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards all about?

What Are the soul’s journey lesson cards?

These cards aim to guide us through life by reflecting on the lessons that we learn along the way. The deck gives us information on how we can receive celestial direction and grow.

I really like how the Soul’s Journey Lesson cards are all about how we can direct our energy and learn soulful wisdom. They are a deck about moving forward and learning from our path in life.

The Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards Review

Okay, now on to the review! I was quite excited about this deck at first because I really like the colors and patterns. When I got my hands on the deck, I was pretty happy about the quality of the box that the cards are contained in. As I have loads of decks, I often will store them in their box.

The box itself is simple. It is bright blue in color with a mandala pattern on it. This simplicity follows through the deck, and I know that some people are not a fan of it. I understand this because there are so many Tarot and oracle decks that are just utterly stunning. There is a lot of competition out there, and something this simple might not stand out.

The Guidebook

The Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards come with a small guidebook that is printed in black and white. It fits in the box and contains information about the spiritual lessons each card represents, accompanied by a short affirmation.

The guidebook really isn’t that impressive and I feel that it falls short. Again, when you compare this oracle deck to others out there, it does feel as if something is missing. The guidebook is fine, but that is just it. Fine.

However, the affirmations in the guidebook are pretty nice to read and do help you feel guided in life.

The card stock quality is on par with other decks published by Hay House. The cards are quite thick and have a glossy finish with gilded edges. They are wide and of medium size, so quite nice to shuffle and use in spreads.

Cards in a brand new deck may get stuck together, but after separating them manually, shuffling becomes easier.

I do like the pattern on the back of the cards and the colors and mandala patterns on each card. It does feel as if the imagery reflects the meaning of each specific card and most are pretty nice to look at.

The messages on the cards are clear, thus meaning this oracle deck is easy to use. Each card has the main word on it and a message of affirmation. It might be a good deck for those of us who like to pick a card out of a deck each morning to give us guidance for the day ahead.

I must point out that some cards have messages such as Death , Envy , Loneliness , and Worry . I can see some readers finding this negative and unsettling, even though the actual messages of the cards teach us how to accept these concepts as part of our existence in a world of duality.

To be honest, the Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards do fall a bit short for me. I understand what they are about, and I like the idea of using what happens in our lives to guide us and teach us lessons. However, I think the energy of this deck just had something missing. It definitely could be deeper, with a more interesting guidebook and explanations of each card.

Plus, the images and colors on the deck aren’t that great. Yes, they are nice, but the patterns and imagery could have been explored so much more!

As I mentioned before, I was pretty excited about the Soul’s Journey Lesson cards. However, I will admit that I was pretty disappointed by this deck when I began to use it. The energy and depth of the deck really fall short, and I feel as if there is something missing.

The Soul’s Journey Lesson cards feel as if they weren’t thought out that well, and maybe they were a bit rushed. They lack detail and depth to which I am so used to when it comes to oracle cards.

Perhaps I am being too harsh as I know there are so many people that do love this deck! What do you guys think? Are you a fan of the Soul’s Journey Lesson cards?

RASSOULI is an artist and an author who is known for his "Fusionart" style. He migrated to the United States from Iran as a young man and is currently residing in Southern California.   From early childhood, Rassouli studied Persian classical painting under miniature masters, while eagerly searching volumes of European artistic works of varied traditions and styles. He roamed the art museums, won awards for his paintings, and traveled in classical Europe as a teenager prior to coming to the United States in 1963 to further explore his artistic drive. Here, he studied fine arts and architecture at the University of New Mexico and environmental psychology at the University of Southern California.   Although he practiced architecture for a time, painting ultimately became his overpowering passion and his profession. Through the years, Rassouli has created hundreds of canvases, in his unique style of Fusionart, which invite the viewer into the creative power of the heart and the wonder and beauty of the soul.   The conceptual approach of Fusionart has been developing in Rassouli since early childhood, which is evident in the variety of his creative work. Rassouli paints with rags, with his fingers, and uses his favorite brushes when he feels moved to enhance what is happening on the canvas. Within the past thirty years, He has exhibited widely in the United States, Europe and Asia and has created several major murals.  Rassouli's art has been featured in numerous books and periodicals, including several books that he has written on creativity and mysticism. He has guided many artists in retreats, and has shares his approach to creativity through public talks, in radio and television interviews and in videos and films.

The Soul’s Journey Lesson Cards by James van Praagh contain 44 glossy cards. The cards are a lovely thick quality, and the color scheme quite delightful to work with. The deck includes a comprehensive guide book, which offers in-depth guidance. This deck is useful if you wish to receive a message from a loved one in the spirit world, perhaps they can shed some light on your soul journey.

It is also a way of discovering what life lessons you are experiencing at this time. While you might not use the deck everyday like Tarot Cards, the cards are a lovely addition to any oracle deck collection. I highly recommend this set in particular, if you are a life coach or offer spiritual guidance to clients.

What’s the difference between the Sea Soul Journeys Oracle Cards and the original Sea Soul Blessings?

Both card sets offer some beautiful ways to connect to the sea’s wisdom. So trust the sea to guide you towards whichever will offer you the ocean flow you need right now. If you’d like more specific information on the differences between the two decks, you can find out more over here .

Are the Sea Soul Journeys Oracle Cards environmentally friendly?

The Sea Soul Journeys Oracle Cards are produced by Welbeck Balance, rather than Sea Soul Blessings, so we don’t have control over all aspects of production. Unlike the Sea Soul Blessings book and cards, it isn’t possible for the Sea Soul Journeys Oracle Cards to be produced in small batches. They are produced internationally and shipped to the UK. They are printed on sustainable FSC stock, and packaged without plastic shrink-wrap. There are two small plastic stickers connecting the box to ensure its undamaged.

Can you still donate 10% of every sale to environmental causes?

If you buy your oracle deck directly from me here, we can still donate 10% of the purchase price to environmental causes.

However, the Sea Soul Journeys Oracle Cards are available to buy from bookshops (how exciting is that?!) and various outlets online.

It isn’t possible for me to donate directly from sales that don’t happen directly here on my website.

I will however donate 10% of my royalties to environmental causes. That’s much less of course, but every little bit makes a difference!

Can I help spread the word?
