About the company.

Introducing Titan Travel

Titan will never compromise on quality. We continue to make every effort to ensure that, when you travel with us, you enjoy the holiday of a lifetime, every time. Every individual aspect of your holiday has been carefully considered to deliver the best ratio of quality and value, provide complete peace of mind and yet still satisfy the most adventurous travel spirit. The expert planning, choice of hotels and transportation methods, included excursions and the services of an expert Titan tour manager can really enhance your appreciation of a destination and transform an ordinary holiday into a truly inspiring one.

Many escorted holidays sold by British tour operators originate in the destination and are aimed at the international market, with multilingual commentaries, sweepingly general itineraries and local contracted hotels and tour managers. Titan holidays are different. They are expertly crafted in-house and are only on sale in the UK; our well-travelled product specialists know their destinations inside out and select the best hotels, airlines, trains and cruise vessels. Properly balanced itineraries, most unique to us, are designed to include excursions and visits of particular interest to British travelers as well as a number of free days when there is always a choice of relaxation or enjoyable things to do. And, in the majority of cases, Titan holidays are escorted by the best tour managers in the business.

Included on every Titan holiday

Door-to-door chauffeured transfers wherever you live in the UK with no mileage restrictions as part of the peerless VIP door-to-door travel service †

Free return regional flights and home transfers for customers in northern England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands

Direct scheduled international flights (wherever possible) with world-renowned airlines

The services of a Titan tour manager throughout † (unless stated otherwise)

Named hotels, selected for their location and quality, or carefully chosen cruise accommodation

Best available coaches with experienced drivers and daily seat rotation

Excursions and visits to those attractions which are obvious highlights of a region, clearly specified in the ‘What is included’ panels of the tour pages

A number of meals, also specified in the ‘What is included’ panels

A comprehensive airport check-in service at Heathrow and Gatwick

SkyCaps porterage at Heathrow and Gatwick

Porterage at hotels (one bag per person)

All applicable airport and port taxes, security charges and UK air Passenger Duty

Not included in our new range of essentials holidays.

Exceptional Value

Quality often comes with a price tag and, indeed, Titan has never striven to be the cheapest tour operator. What you get with us though is unparalleled value for money, with a host of inclusions as standard and a range of exclusive offers and discounts.

Traveling in style With Titan, not only does your holiday begin and end at your front door, it also includes scheduled international flights with world-renowned airlines and the most memorable form of touring transport. Where this is a coach, we look to provide the best available, with air-conditioning, w/c and daily seat rotation in the interests of fairness. But escorted tours are not simply limited to coaches. Titan is one of the UK’s leading rail specialists and a number of our holidays incorporate journeys on iconic trains, that seem to transport you not only through some of the most dramatic and beautiful landscapes in the world, but also back in time to a nostalgic ‘golden age’ of luxurious and stylish travel.

If you are undecided between the elegance and relaxation of a cruise and the enthralling insight of an escorted tour, Titan’s Cruise & Tour® holidays could be a perfect choice. You can cruise with some of the most respected names in the industry, including Fred.Olsen and Holland America, around regions of awe-inspiring beauty and head ashore for an extra land-based touring element. Alternatively, the waterways of Europe, Egypt and China link the most spectacular cultural gems in picturesque fashion and a river cruise is an outstanding way to appreciate wonderful destinations from a different and more relaxed perspective. Our river cruise partners include Uniworld, multi award-winning operator of 5★ boutique river cruises.

Included Excursions We don’t believe that our holidaymakers should pay extra for optional excursions to experience what are obviously the most important attractions of a country or region. You get much better value if they are included from the start. Unless otherwise stated, every visit mentioned in the tour itinerary is included in the cost of your holiday.

Quality named hotels and lodges Hotels on Titan holidays are much more than simply a place to sleep at the end of the day. They may place you at the heart of a thrilling city or in a retreat of sublime tranquillity; reflect the character and heritage of a destination or play an integral part in its social scene; present inspiring views or a range of exhilarating experiences. Location and quality are key considerations. At Titan, we always seek to provide the best of both choosing a lower priced holiday based on lower quality, more remote hotels can often be a false economy in the time and money you end up wasting during your stay.

Low or No Single Supplements

We are always looking at ways of minimizing or eliminating our single supplements. A number of tours featured on this website have low or no single supplements to pay.

The UK's best holiday price promise

It has always been a Titan principle that the earlier you book, the lower the price you pay. Our holiday price promise provides complete peace of mind – if we subsequently reduce the price to below what you have already paid (after any discounts have been applied), we will contact you to refund the difference†!

This guarantee applies to tour prices only (excluding all Traveller, by Titan holidays and any selected loyalty rewards we may offer to past travelers from time to time) and does not include airline upgrades, holiday additions, extended stays or regional connecting flights and selected special offer products.

Wild India - a thrilling and rewarding experience

From the moment our driver Guy picked us up, we had a fabulous, thrilling and stress free holiday, Wild India. Hotels and Jungle Camp accommodations were excellent, our guide, Yaju, was brilliant. He was helpful, very knowledgeable, patient, and had a great sense of humour. The safaris were thrilling, we saw tigers on 6 of our 9 drives. Our week in Goa to round off the trip was brilliant, the hotel Radisson Blu at Cavelossim Beach was marvellous, staff and food exceptional. We dropped a star because we found the whole holiday very hard going, most days starting very very early, and lots of long distances to travel. A bit of tweaking and relaxing of the hard schedule, especially at the ‘temples’ end would have been welcome. Maggie Burrows

Excellent tour manager

Excellent tour manager. He went above and beyond in looking after the tour party. The written information provided by Titan failed to explain that there were a lot of early morning starts and did not give sufficient information about the arrangements for onward forwarding of luggage which meant people did not have the right type of luggage.

Vietnamese Discovery

What an amazing holiday! Our taxi driver contacted us 3 days before departure to confirm timings. Vietnamese airlines were excellent. Our tour manager Hoa was the most knowledgeable guide we've ever had. His degree in Vietnamese culture meant he had so much information to pass on to us. He was also kind, caring. compassionate, helpful, funny, nothing was too much trouble for him and he made our group of 25 feel like a real family. The tour was full on but we knew that when we booked! All the hotels/accommodations were amazing, food was excellent, no complaints whatsoever. I would 100% recommend Titan.

Titan Wild Borneo

The itinerary was good and took us to a lot of interesting places. The whole experience was brought alive by the Tour Manager and Guide, whose knowledge and enthusiasm, made the entire tour fantastic. The Tour Manager was very welcoming, friendly and helpful, and worked very hard to make sure we were all safe and having a great time.

Just booked my 3rd Titan tour for 2024.

Titan is my preferred tour company as I feel looked after from booking a tour, travelling to and from the airport and whilst on tour. Tour managers are very experienced and knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Grand Tour of Australia disappointed

We had itinerary changed numerous times with some replacements that were not of equal value. Some hotels were not up to expected standard. No porterage at nearly all hotel. Some of the itineraries were not as advertised. Having spent a lot of money on this trip I have returned to the U.K disappointed and having used Titan in the past I would probably not use them again.

Golden Triangle with Ranthambhore

My first trip to India was a truly memorable experience. Starting with a positive we had an excellent Tour Manager in Alexander Becerra who was very conscientious and cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We also enjoyed the benefit of a very knowledgable local guide, Rahul Tiwari, who also went the extra mile. Obviously disappointing not to see any tigers, leopards or sloth bears, but there were compensating plusses including a glorious visit to the Taj Mahal with clear blue skies. Personally I would have preferred to skip Dehi and its heavy traffic and pollution and included somewhere like Varanasi instead even though it's a bit of a distance! The '5*' Eros Hotel in Delhi was disappointingly chaotic but all our hotel rooms were good. Food was pretty good overall especially breakfasts. I will be looking to travel with Titan again, I just have to decide where to go!

The importance of an excellent guide

The Golden Triangle Train journeys experience was amazing; the colour, vibrance, people, culture, food and the sites, from the Taj Mahal, Golden Temple, Red and Amber Forts and much more. But most of all our guide Rahi Raza, brilliant, knowledge, humourous and friendly. Just loved him, he made the trip very special. Thank you Ravi and Titan.

In the foothills of the Himalayas

First time travelling with Titan. Exceptional service from the outset. Door to door service, varied and interesting itinerary and good value for money were great for starters. Colin, the local guides and the drivers took great care of the party throughout the trip. I would highly recommend this tour for the variety it offers.

Happy First Time Customer

Foothills of the Himalayas. This was my first trip with Titan, and it started very well with the door to door service taking the hassle out of airport parking. From then on in I couldn’t fault the trip, from the hotels, the reps and guides, the drivers and of course the fabulous country. The trips and tours were interesting, exciting and respectful of the locality and people. In addition, having some add ons to the trip being tailor made for me and my companion was very useful, and Colin and Bishan supported us with these. Thank you to all involved - I’ll be back!

Hi Sheila, Thank you for your amazing feedback. We will look forward to you seeing again, hopefully soon.

First class booking process.

No hold ups getting through to speak to a friendly, helpful advisor. He answered all my queries and gave me all the information I needed. The booking process was very smooth and my online documents were received within minutes.

Titan tours are the best

Titan tours are the best, I like all the included extras, ie, travel to airport, gives us less to worry about. also agents are helpful and take their time with you on the phone. Titan just seem to go that little bit extra

Communiction - non existant

We are booked to go to USA for a trip down the Mississippi on a paddleboat next month. We learned by chance, last week, that the boat company have ceased operating. Titan have yet to contact us to tell us this rather important information. We have phoned them but promised return calls were not made. If this is how they cope in a crisis, it doesn't bode well

Date of experience : 02 March 2024

Hi Paul, We're really sorry to hear about this. We understand that our Products teams are currently working on this issue and will be in contact with all affected customers shortly to discuss the options available. Best Wishes, Nick Titan Travel

Singapore and Malaysia

Just returned from Singapore and Malaysia with Titan. We had a great group which made the holiday. Perhaps a larger group than expected but we made more friends. A special mention to our tour manager, Cynthia. She was brilliant. Our guides Carol and Larry were very knowledgeable and patient with us. We finished at a beautiful hotel in Penang where we stayed an extra 3 days after the tour had ended. We still had a driver to the airport and pickup from Heathrow. Both excellent. Thanks again to Cynthia.

Natural Wonders of Costa Rica with the Panama Canal

This was an amazing itinerary combining the cities of San Jose and Panama with the colourful and varied wildlife of Costa Rica. One of the highlights was the partial cruise along the Panama Canal at the end of our holiday. We were very fortunate to have an outstanding, enthusiastic and professional Tour Manager Daniel and a knowledgeable, caring and excellent Local Guide Noelia who both ensured we had the best holiday ever. This was a small group of twelve like minded, friendly and lovely people who enhanced the holiday. I can highly recommend Titan - from home departure, the pre-holiday hotel in Heathrow, the holiday itself to the return journey home.

Students get a ‘Jumpstart’ on their careers in Dallas

Uc blue ash students experience transformative travel on their path to lindner.

Students from Carl H. Lindner College of Business’ Jumpstart program — a pipeline between UC Blue Ash and the business college that provides students with additional support toward transitioning into a bachelor’s degree program — experienced a whirlwind visit to Dallas during spring break 2024.

The group of 12 students balanced a packed schedule of professional development and networking with cultural and tourist experiences. Sponsored by Deloitte, students connected with Lindner alumni and employer partners throughout the four-day trip.

Arun Murthy, BBA '95, (center) offered students advice on actions they can take now that will create positive impact for their futures.

Day one: Diving right in

Day one brought a visit to the Charles Schwab corporate campus where students met with Lindner alumnus  Arun Murthy , BBA ’95.

After a tour of the campus, students engaged in a Q&A session with Murthy to gain his insights on what they should be doing right now to prepare them for the next phase of their educational and career journeys.

Murthy encouraged the young professionals to “keep your eyes open” and pay attention to what piques their interest. But Murthy’s greatest advice to students was to get involved and be open to meeting and getting to know new people.

After finishing their day with a visit to the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum for reflection and remembrance, and an evening in the Discovery District of Dallas for dinner and exploration, students looked to a second day packed with adventure.

Day two: A non-stop adventure

I think one of the reasons that I probably succeeded in this type of environment was my ability to connect and the relationships that I made with the people I interviewed with. It wasn't just transactional. It's very relational in nature.

Kasey Beiting Campus recruiting specialist, Deloitte

Day two’s itinerary featured visits to the American Airlines corporate campus, Deloitte University and AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, to learn about sales and sports marketing.

First on the list: American Airlines.

Led by Scott Mallory, a campus recruiter for the company, students toured the expansive headquarters asking questions along the way about everything from employee benefits to navigating career changes.

“One of the most significant lessons I learned was the unpredictability of your professional career,” said Manuel Chacon Molina, who is interested in studying international business upon transferring to Lindner. “Observing individuals like Scott Mallory at American Airlines, who began in human resources and progressed across various departments, has reinforced the notion that while academic foundations are crucial, practical experience is fundamental for professional growth.”

Jumpstart students enjoyed their tour of the American Airlines' corporate headquarters.

For Abybatou Diop, a first-year  Jumpstart  student interested in supply chains and international business, the experience was transformative.

“The American Airlines company tour profoundly changed my perspective on the business world, igniting a passion within me," Diop said. "This experience was life-altering, pushing me to think beyond my previous limits. I am forever grateful for the inspiration it has given.”

Still in awe from their first tour of the day, students had even more in store as they headed to Deloitte University, the training grounds for all Deloitte employees.

Students were welcomed by a committee of Deloitte representatives, including several from Cincinnati who made the trip to Dallas to connect with the Jumpstart students.

Jeff Suttle, director, client relations, led students on a facility tour and provided an overview of the purpose of Deloitte University and how it helps the organization to continuously grow and invest in its employees.

Students enjoyed lunch alongside company representatives Jim Sower, managing partner, Kasey Beiting, campus recruiting specialist, and Zach Wall, audit senior manager. Afterward, Sowar, Beiting and Wall engaged with students in a more formalized Q&A session, providing advice for how to prepare for their future careers, identifying their ideal career path and challenges they may face along their journey.

“In the first couple of years, I wasn't sure what my path to take, but it was really diving in and owning the fact that, if I'm going to be successful, I'm going to have to work hard, I'm going have to put my head down at times that I might not want to,” Wall told students. “But ultimately, that's the way to meeting that goal on that path.”

Deloitte representatives Kasey Beiting (left), campus recruiting specialist, Zach Wall (center), audit senior manager, and Jim Sower (right), managing partner, engaged in a Q&A session with students at Deloitte University.

As an active leader in the campus recruitment process for Deloitte, Beiting was able to offer the students an insider’s point of view on how to approach the interview process.

“I think one of the reasons that I probably succeeded in this type of environment was my ability to connect and the relationships that I made with the people I interviewed with,” said Beiting. “It wasn't just transactional. It's very relational in nature.”

With nearly 40 years of experience in the tax industry, and more than 20 years with Deloitte, Sowar hammered home this point for students.

“Is this candidate going to be able to not only maintain relationships but grow relationships and create new relationships that will lead to new business?” Sowar said of what Deloitte is looking for in its employees. “And that gets into what kind of personal skills do you have? Can you carry out a conversation? Are you asking interesting questions? How do you interact with people in a group setting and so forth? We do notice those things, and I think they really stand up.”

The themes of leadership and relationships expressed by Wall, Beiting and Sowar resonated heavily with students as they thought about their own career trajectories.

“Deloitte's emphasis on nurturing leadership qualities and continuous improvement resonated deeply with me,” said Chacon Molina. “The immersive experience at Deloitte University, allied to a rigorous training program, helps individuals not just with job-specific skills but also with the mindset and capabilities to lead effectively.”

Students took in city views at the Reunion Tower Observation Deck.

Students’ attention then turned to a more light-hearted adventure: a tour of AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. But, before the fun began, the group stopped to connect with Bohn Crain, account executive with the AT&T Stadium sales team.

Crain’s energy and passion for his career path radiated over the students as they took in his message and holy grail advice: network, network, network.

Crain discussed his mission to meet one new person per day and encouraged students to take on the same challenge, as you never know where that connection may lead. Students were able to put this advice into immediate use as they connected with members of the Lindner Career Services team over dinner at Kitchen & Kocktails, a Black-owned business in the heart of Dallas.

Day three: Making connections

The final day of the trip allowed students to continue bonding with one another as they explored all Dallas has to offer, including the Perot Museum of Nature and Science and the Reunion Tower Observation Deck. Through these experiences, students were able to form new bonds and identify new ways that they may support each other into the future, both personally and professionally.

“I thought Dallas was a great experience for the students. They were able to see what their futures could look like, the places that their degree could take them,” said Abbey Wulf, academic adviser to the Jumpstart program. “It was rewarding to see them engaging with different companies and asking them questions. I think they also bonded with one another over this experience and their time together. I personally hope that the bonds created during this trip remain. That they now have people they can lean on at UC Blue Ash and in Lindner once they transition and after graduation.”

Lasting impact and looking forward

The idea behind the Jumpstart program is to plant seeds and watch them grow. By encouraging our students to constantly show up and just do it, no matter how hard it is — a course, a test, a project — we help to push them further so they can thrive.

Arielle Betts Program coordinator, Office of Inclusive Excellence

Top of mind for both students and employers throughout the company visits: diversity, a topic near and dear to many Jumpstart participants’ experiences.

“The most important thing that I learned from our experience in Dallas was how much businesses are in search of diversity and how important it is for them to have as much diversity as possible. Diversity can help them reach their highest peak of success,” said marketing major Cris Mejia-Sanchez.

According to Arielle Betts , the program coordinator behind Jumpstart from Lindner’s Office of Inclusive Excellence , this experience represents another cornerstone of the foundation of the program and what she hopes to achieve with it.

“The idea behind the Jumpstart program is to plant seeds and watch them grow," Betts said. "By encouraging our students to constantly show up and just do it, no matter how hard it is — a course, a test, a project — we help to push them further so they can thrive.”

'Like a large drone': NASA to launch Dragonfly rotorcraft lander on Saturn's moon Titan

titan travel website down

NASA will explore Saturn's "organic-rich moon" Titan using a rotorcraft lander called " Dragonfly ," according to the government agency.

Dragonfly will launch July 2028 to explore "diverse locations to characterize the habitability of Titan's environment," NASA said on its website. Before launch, Dragonfly's design will need to be finalized, and the lander will have to be built and undergo testing, the agency said Tuesday in a news release .

“Dragonfly is a spectacular science mission with broad community interest, and we are excited to take the next steps on this mission," Nicky Fox, associate administrator for the science mission directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington, said in the release. "Exploring Titan will push the boundaries of what we can do with rotorcraft outside of Earth.”

How much will Dragonfly cost?

Dragonfly has a total lifecycle cost of $3.35 billion, NASA said. The rotorcraft is anticipated to arrive at Titan in 2034 and "fly to dozens of promising locations on the moon, looking for prebiotic chemical processes common on both Titan and the early Earth before life developed," according to the agency's release.

"Dragonfly marks the first time NASA will fly a vehicle for science on another planetary body," the government agency said. "The rotorcraft has eight rotors and flies like a large drone."

Dragonfly experienced delays before becoming approved for launch

NASA's mission to Titan passed all the success criteria of its preliminary design review in early 2023, which provides "increased assurance" that the operation will have "minimal project risk," the government agency said. After passing, NASA had to develop an updated budget and schedule that "fit into the current funding environment," according to the release.

NASA's updated plan was conditionally approved in November 2023 pending the outcome of the 2025 fiscal year's budget process, the government agency said. Until then, NASA continued to work on the final mission design to ensure the mission to Titan stayed on schedule, according to the agency.

Dragonfly was confirmed after the release of the president’s fiscal year 2025 budget, NASA said. The mission cost about two times more than the proposed cost and was delayed more than two years from when it was initially selected in 2019, according to the release.

Wonderful holiday - The Footsteps of The Incas

Our holiday started with the transfer from home to Heathrow on Friday 6 October, this took all the stress out of getting to the airport. On arrival in Lima, we were met by our wonderful tour manager Augusto Salazar (Gus). Both Gus and all the tour guides were excellent and knowledgeable about all the places we visited. Gus is an excellent tour manager, he is cheerful and nothing is too much trouble, he even went to the chemist with me to get medication when my husband developed a stomach upset and explained to the pharmacist what the problem was. The days were well planned and Gus gave us a paper entitled ‘On The Move’ each night so we knew what the plans were for the following day and what time we needed to be ready for. Gus gave us the option of going to local restaurants with him for dinner on the days when an evening meal wasn’t included in the package. The restaurants were all very good. Gus was also very good about informing restaurants about my allergy to seafood and crustaceans which ensured I didn’t eat anything that would make me ill. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and although the days were long the tours were absolutely brilliant and we experienced sights we wouldn’t have if we hadn’t booked on this tour. The transfer home from Heathrow on 20 October was excellent and our driver was great.

Peru (Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, and Machu Pichu).

This was our first organised trip and was really pleased with the whole experience. The emphasis on organised. Every aspect ran as smooth as silk, from being driven to the airport, to coaches, planes, and trains for every tour we did. And we did something every day. There was also knowledgeable guides giving you any information you wanted. What made us feel most secure was our main guide, who was with us all the time, making sure we were informed about schedules every night ready for the next day. (Gus 🙂). Speaking with other people in our group who have done several organised tours before, they said this was one of the best trips they had done. So generally, I'm privileged to have had this experience.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to provide such a great review of your experiences. We're delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful adventure with Gus and the team. We look forward to you joining us again soon, Best Wishes, Nick Titan Travel

Great holiday; Saga need to work on their customer service

Just back from a combined Titan / Saga trip to the Golden Triangle in India. Pre-travel interaction with Saga was about the worst customer service experience I have had with a travel company, and will definitely think twice before booking with them again. India is full of contrast, awe inspiring and profoundly complex. We were grateful that we received a sanitised version from the comfort of an air conditioned coach and european quality hotels - and we still, on occasions, felt completely overwhelmed. Our tour guide, Steve Pritchard, was excellent, and went out of his way to ensure that all 32 of us got the most out of our holiday. I can't rate him highly enough.

Eyypt October 2023We have just returned from a trip to…

We have just returned from a trip to the antiquities of Egypt. While the content was busy, and the group quite large, we had a good time. Our tour guide was excellent as was the Egyptologist. I would say, however, that the day in Alexandria was a waste of time. Also the last minute way we were given our itinerary lead to a vast increase in overall price, both with the optional extra visits, and there was a great deal of confusion and contention over the means of tipping. Nearly everyone would have preferred this to be a self guided price, rather than a prescriptive one.

THREE OF THE BEST – WASHINGTON DC, NIAGARA FALLS AND NEW YORK

Booked this three centre holiday with Titan mainly because we could not do a similar itinerary for anywhere near the price. Door to door pick up was bang on time and you can factor this service in as a saving on train fares/parking, etc. Also, of course, it is extremely convenient. The holiday was based in Washington DC (2 nights), Niagara Falls (2 nights) and New York (2 nights), with 2 single night stops on route between these 3 centres. After being advised by both of our daughters, who have been to New York themselves, we decided to extend our New York stay to 4 days in total which Titan facilitated at the same hotel, the New Yorker. Itinerary The itinerary does cover three iconic USA and Canadian settings. There are included ½ day sightseeing trips in Washington and New York which take you to the White House, Capitol building, Lincoln memorial, several of the war memorials in Washington; Central Park, the 9/11 memorial and the sights of New York. We also bought additional tours around Georgetown, the "Maid of the Mist" boat trip in Niagara and a visit to a winery for wine tasting, also in Niagara. The itinerary is pretty fast paced and the excursions are well put together and delivered (some by local guides). The additional excursions are good value for money, in particular the, "Maid of the Mist" boat trip (which is a must in Niagara). Food The only food included on the tour are two breakfasts, one each in the two transit hotels in Williamsport and Corning. Titan will ensure that you have both a venue and enough time for lunch whilst on route between centres and the tour manager will book places for lunch. We found food to be generally more expensive than we expected, particularly in New York. The other thing is that, in general, it's all fast food. The street food in New York has some fantastic options but none of it will help the cholesterol. One good option are the supermarkets and deli's. The deli's in particular had a good selection of breads and fillings that you can use for a quick meal without having to source a restaurant, saving both time and money. Just one more food point. The hotels in the transit stops, Williamsport and Corning, have microwaves, the other hotels don’t. New York New York is amazing. You get about 1½ days with the Titan tour which gives you a taste but you really do need more time. We booked two extra days at the same hotel, the centrally located New Yorker on 8th Avenue. If you do book extra days then make sure you have a plan of what you want to do with the time. Get a map and work out a route around the attractions, day by day. Also, keep an eye on the weather forecast and have a plan for a rainy day. Tour manager and driver The tour manager, John Allen, was excellent, planning each day well to maximize our time at each place, organising comfort stops and meal stops, particularly when we were transiting between centres and having to negotiate the variable times needed at USA/Canada border controls. He also worked hard to save us time by pre check-in at hotels, having our luggage delivered early so it was in our rooms when we arrived and, in general, he was always looking to get "ahead of the game" so as to minimize any potential delays. He was also very informative as we travelled, with historical facts and figures, information regarding places we were visiting and giving us these details just in the right amount at just the right time. Our driver, Roman, was with us for all but the last day of the holiday. How he managed to negotiate a 50 seater coach through the New York traffic I'll never know. Tipping and taxes Tipping is expected in the USA. Also, the prices on the sales tickets/restaurant menus do not include local taxes. As a rule of thumb, add 30% to any ticket/menu price to include taxes and tips. We tried to tip at 20% which seems the normal rate for good service. We did note that, occasionally, the ticket price was the price we ended up paying (in one liquor store for example) so working out final prices for anything can become a nightmare!! Titan give you a guide to tipping the tour manager ($6 per person per day) and the driver ($5 per person per day) which, once you see how hard they work, is fully justified. We did give a bit more in the end but I was somewhat surprised at some of our travelling companions who baulked at the amounts advised. What they ended up giving I don't know. Finally, I would fully recommend this tour and equally, recommend doing it with Titan. The entire experience was first class. Thank you John, Roman and Titan for a great holiday.

Hi Nigel, Thank you so much for providing such a detailed review of your experiences. We're delighted to read that you had such a wonderful adventure in America with John, Roman and the team. The Grand Tour of New England and…

The Grand Tour of New England and Canada proved to be a fabulous, well thought out and enjoyable holiday! Titan’s door to door services is invaluable. Both drivers were very courteous and professional. The tour included a great variety of places - big cities such as Toronto, intriguing small towns like Bethel, plus beautiful geological and geographical features - Niagara Falls, Perkins Bay. Many places included enthusiastic and knowledgeable local tour guides who did a fantastic job of helping us get to know the city or area we were visiting. This tour provided much historical context throughout. Travel by coach was convenient and comfortable and journeys have been carefully planned by Titan so longer travel days were not bunched together. There were plenty of comfort breaks plus a toilet on the coach if required. The driver was brilliant and had the tedious job of heaving our cases in and out of the coach every couple of days! The hotels were of a good standard. If there isn’t a kettle in the room just ask for one hotel staff are helpful. Take your own teabags and a spoon! The USA and Canada are only geared up for coffee machines! The New Yorker hotel and The Clarendon in Quebec had smaller rooms- this is to be expected as these hotels are 100 years old! They are still comfy and appropriate if somewhat quirky. The tour does not provide meals. However there were always plenty of places to eat and recommendations provided by the tour guide. The tour was transposed from great to fantastic by the tour guide Alan D. He was pleasant, entertaining, very well organised, knowledgeable with an excellent presentation style. He organised several extra things such as booking a meal at a restaurant for those who wanted to go and taking those who were keen to The Festival of Light at the Botanical Garden in Montreal. He stood in line at the New York theatre ticket booth to buy tickets for Broadway shows the same evening so those who wanted to go didn’t have to hang around. He checked that everyone was happy on a daily basis, listened carefully to feedback and suggestions , and acknowledged things outside his control such as a service station being shut or traffic jams! Overall this is a holiday which is very enjoyable and good value for money.

Channel Islands Joie de Vivre 2-9…

Channel Islands Joie de Vivre 2-9 September 2023 Amalgamated Titan and Saga groups meant too many people for scheduled excursions. Hotels on hilltops, no sea views. Jersey coach had cobwebs, seat belts frayed, no air con (in a heat wave), luggage piled in cab as boot too small, door opened while driving to get air. A horrible experience. Tour manager inebriated, replacement in Guernsey. No reply to two letters and an email to contacts on Titan website. Flights and home transport worked well.

Fabulous holiday as always with Titan. Informative guides, friendly group. A special mention must go to our tour manager Anil who absolutely made the trip for us. The only downside was the coach which was not very comfortable, but our driver and his helper were superb

India’s Golden Triangle

We have just got back from the India’s Golden Triangle tour and can only recommend this as an introduction to the sights and sounds of this vibrant country. Our tour manager Anne was amazing with her attention to detail for all aspects of the trip making sure that everything ran smoothly and we all knew where we had to be and when. Davesh, our local guide was one of the best that I have come across passing on his knowledge with a sense of humour. The hotels in Agra and Jaipur were like palaces and the food throughout was amazing especially if you like the local specialties. The only Delhi Belly was the expanding waistline that I brought home.

Fabulous holiday to India

What a fantastic holiday to India. Our tour manager Anne was absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed all the trips and Davish our tour guide was very informative. We enjoyed the trip from the start of the holiday being collected from our house to when the driver dropped us off. Would definitely use Titan again.

Golden triangle, India.

This was our third time with Titan travel and we can honestly say they certainly make every effort to make your tour the best it could possibly be. We had an amazing time in India. We never had to queue for anything, they collect tickets and hand them out to everyone. The knowledge of our tour guide was incredible and extremely interesting. All hotels we stayed at were to a very high standard. Food was excellent and always plenty of choice. Our tour manager Steven Pritchard was fantastic. He always made sure we knew the following day's itinerary and informed us of all timings for the structure of the day. He made our tour totally stress free. He's so friendly and always answered any questions we had. We will certainly be booking with Titan again.

We recently visited Egypt

We recently visited Egypt, staying for 4 nights in Cairo then a 7 night cruise on the River Nile. The holiday was truly memorable. Our trips highlights were naturally the Pyramids, the Valley of the Kings and the stunning temples along the Nile. The optional excursions offered were excellent however you could choose simply to stay on board and soak up the atmosphere of the River Nile. The service on board and at the hotel was first class as were all the facilities. Our guide Ayman was funny, friendly and very well organised and what our Egyptian expert Ahmed did not know about Egypt wasn't worth knowing. All together a fantastic experience. Egypt is in there 7th Millenium and I would definitely recommend a visit. Philip & Marcus.

Hi Philip and Marcus, Thanks so much for providing such a wonderful review of your holiday and for your great feedback for Ayman and Ahmed. It sounds like you had a memorable experience exploring Egypt. We do hope that you will join us on another adventure very soon, Best Wishes, Titan Travel

Golden Triangle Tour - India

We are currently on our last day of our tour of India’s golden triangle. I never normally bother with reviews, however, our tour guide Anne Hirst was too good to not bother this time. We could not of wished for a better tour guide. The only way I can describe Anne is an absolute delight, with a wealth of knowledge and experience- and never without a smile or giggle on her face. She truly made our holiday along with Davish, the tour guide from India. The whole tour was executed without a single fault - we were so impressed. Keeping a large group of all ages and abilities together, safely through the hectic streets of Delhi, all the way to getting on and off the trains in Ranthambore takes some skill but everything was in place down to a T. We had a brilliant experience. I hope this finds its way back to Anne :-)

Hi Lindsey, Thanks so much for taking the time to provide your feedback. It sounds like you have had a wonderful experience with Anne in beautiful India. We will be sure to pass your feedback back to the team. We look forward to you joining us on another adventure very soon, Best Wishes, Nick Titan Travel

Excellent trip on the Nile

Excellent service throughout our Nile cruise. Everything ran seamlessly and our tour manager Ayman was a total star, nothing was too much trouble and he always had a friendly smile no matter what. Our resident Egyptologist Mr Ahmed was a font of knowledge and made the excursions most interesting. The crew on the boat were also friendly and again nothing was too much trouble. We were met at the airports and shown what to do and it all went off without any stress at all. Very happy.

Cairo & Nile cruise

Tour Manager Ayman fantastic - always helpful, kind and patient and could not do enough for us. Egyptologist Mr Ahmed v knowledgeable and didnt feel overwhelmed by info. Personally think a short general talk from him to link all we would see together and a hand out of timeline/ pharoahs and also hieroglyphics would have enhanced my visits. Hotel in Cairo & boat both really lovely and service great. BUT I am Gluten Intolerant which I said when booking. And I was disappointed no prior arrangements had been made. So despite a choice of 48 breakfast breads etc at the 4* hotel I could have none ! Desserts were a desert - only fresh fruit. Ayman & the boat went into action and did their best making special things for me but most of the substantial lovely buffet foods were off limit. Seems there is no understanding of Gluten in Egypt but expected you to have educated places you use ! Eg using corn or rice flour in some dishes. And warning signs / labels would have been good so I could do as others and help myself, rather than being fed. Lot of very early starts to avoid hot weather so think dinner should be at 7pm to allow digestion and early nights. And need drawers / shelves in cabin. Had a great time though and itinerary seems to cover important places & a good mix. Didnt think long day trip to Alexandria really worth it due to earthquake devastation of important sites.

Hi Chrissy Thanks so much for providing your review. We're really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tour and we thank you for your feedback for your Tour Manager Ayman. We were however, very sorry to read about your disappointment with the food provisions. We absolutely recognise the importance of providing appropriate food for those with dietary requirements and we are sorry that you were not adequately catered for. We have passed your comments to our Products team for their information and internal review to prevent similar issues happening in the future. We do hope that you will consider us for your future travel plans, Best Wishes, Nick Titan Travel

FAA lifts temporary ground stop of Alaska Airlines flights after technical issue is resolved

Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 airliners sit on the tarmac

The Federal Aviation Administration lifted a ground stop for all Alaska Airlines flights Wednesday after grounding the planes earlier as a result of a computer problem at the carrier.

The Seattle-based airline said in a statement that an issue arose “while performing an upgrade to the system that calculates our weight and balance.”

The FAA initially approved a ground stop for all Alaska and Horizon flights starting at approximately 10:50 a.m. ET.

It was lifted just before 11:45 a.m. ET.

It wasn't immediately clear how many flights were affected. An Alaska spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
