Billy Idol Announces 2023 North American Tour

Billy Idol will spend the spring of 2023 touring North America. His tour will kick off on March 30 in Scottsdale, Ariz., and conclude with an appearance at Pasadena's Cruel World festival on May 20.

He will be joined on the tour by his longtime collaborator, guitarist Steve Stevens .

You can see the tour dates below.

The singer has released two EPs of new material in the past two years, with last year's The Cage following 2021's The Roadside . Earlier this month, Idol was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"Some way or other, by hook or by crook, I finagled my way into this position where I'm still going strong and enjoying it," he recently told Variety . "We just started playing because we loved it. Maybe it would last six months or a couple, three years. And now it's almost 50 years later. The music we've been putting out lately has been fantastic.”

Born in Middlesex, UK, Billy Idol was a child of punk, first fronting the band Generation X before becoming a worldwide, MTV-generation star in the 80s.

After packing in the English degree he was working towards at Sussex university, in 1976 Billy joined up with The Bromley Contingent, a group of Sex Pistols fans who went on to have an impact of their own after it formed Siouxsie and the Banshees and Generation X.

Billy became the lead singer of Generation X and made no attempt to hide the fact that they were going to do things a bit differently from other punk acts. Whilst peers such The Clash and The Sex Pistols wrote off the 60s pop of acts like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, Generation X embraced it as their primary influence. This pop influence allowed them to become the first punk act to be featured on Top of The Pops and the band released 3 albums before disbanding.

This freed up Billy to pack his bags, head to New York City and pursue a solo career. Fusing his punk image with a hint of glam, Billy soon began to pump out the hits with songs like ‘White Wedding’ becoming an MTV staple. Billy unintentionally found himself becoming a part of the ‘Second British Invasion of the United States’, a period where numerous British acts found great success overseas fueled by the relatively new platform of MTV.

With the release of his next album ‘Rebel Yell’, Billy’s transformation into international super star was complete. Today he still plays sold out arenas globally and is a testament to what a young punk from Middlesex can achieve.

Live reviews

Just from the image of Billy Idol you can expect that you are going to see a highly energetic performance when you attend one of his concerts. Billy Idol is one of a few musicians who can step on stage and immediately captivate the audience by his presence. His signature bleached spiked hair, his black leather jacket, and his macho like attitude are all important in creating the atmosphere for his performance. Although his appearance is highly engrossing, his music is what wins the audience’s hearts. Billy Idol has a highly dynamic style of performance. One moment he will take the role of a crooner, gently singing emotive songs such as “Eyes Without a Face”, and the next moment he will tear off his shirt and run fiercely around stage belting out the lyrics to the rock anthem, “Rebel Yell”. Billy Idol is backed by a very talented band consisting of guitarist Steve Stevens, who has been touring with Billy Idol since 1981. Steve Stevens is a well-versed guitar player having performed with many talented musicians including Michael Jackson, when he provided guitar for his album, Bad. Billy Idol’s music is also very interesting due to his use of synthesizers in his music. The synths provide a unique atmospheric sound that is often uncommon in hard-rock music. The whole band is very energetic when performing, especially Billy Idol who is constantly inciting the crowd to act wild and join in chanting his songs.

His setlist is sure to please the crowd with him performing most of his hits including “White Wedding” and “Love and Glory”. He will please diehard fans as well by playing older songs from his days in the band, Generation X. Billy Idol has proven to be a suitable name for him, as he is surely regarded as an idol of rock and roll performances.

Your Sydney show was absolutely breathtaking, you smashed it vocally, you still have incredible sex appeal, Steve was better than ever as was your band, your drummer worked his arms off. It was the best day so far of 2020 for me as I did the trip from the South Coast where I'm a wildlife carer for 18 years, taking a day off from filling up food and water stations at a wildlife sanctuary that was completely destroyed, while still doing search and rescue in the National Park which is still closed it was a nice change. You look incredible for 64 years of age, I wish I could have got a meet and greet package, as I have a beautiful wombat keyring that I wanted to give to you. I am halfway through your book, I don't want to put it down but have to attend rescues and wildlife. I follow your tours on Youtube and I kind of new what to expect, but I was wrong, it was better than Youtube, the connection with your fans was mesmerizing, I first saw you in 1984? at the Sydney Entertainment Centre and you are as good now as you were then, only you have much more new songs. Your tribute to your father was very touching and I'd like to thank you for sharing that with your fans, I love all your albums, Kings and Queens is just my favourite, but then so is Devils Playground, and Whiplash Smile, and Charmed Life.. well all of them really, but your music gets better and better with age, I can't wait till your next album. Keep on Rocking Billy Fucking Idol... Legend.. Kind or Rock and Roll... Your number 1 Fan.. Georgia Gowanloch (Australia)

I've got a ticket the night before the show uncertain if I should go.

Luckily there was tickets left because I didn't want to miss this one, that I know now.

Billy Idol's latest is not my kind of music. Doesn't feel Billy Idol in my mind. It got some good songs but misses the punch.

The show on the other hand. What a punch!

A glorious performance by the whole band.

Good mix of old classics and new ones.

Billy took good care of the audience and showed what an excellent live artist he is.

The songs had a mix of tempo, from quite calm acoustic like too my favourite speed metal tempo. That was a real surprise. Don't think the rest of audience appreciate that thou, but it showed the broad repertoire of Billy Idol songs.

They throw in a long guitar solo, reminded me of mariachi, kind of mexican style guitar play. I loved it. Some may say it was too long but the rest of the band went backstage during that time so I guess they needed the break.

I didn't mind, great work and lovely done.

So even if you are no fan of his latest work. Go see him live. He shines!

Billy Idol live is one of my top three konserts.

So if you get the chance, enlighten your life with the performance of Billy Idol and the band.

I've been in love billy with idol since I first saw the "White Wedding" video back in the day on mtv, and since then I've been hooked! I was blown away by his unique style and in your face personality. He is the epitome of 80's new wave punk rock music with such classics as rebel yell, "white wedding", and "dancing with myself".His bouncy and melodic sounds can't help but make u wanna sing and dance along to them. He continues to produce music and go on tour to this day but he has yet to recapture the notoriety he did in the 80's. But due to the reinfusion of punk rock in the 2000's He has managed to gain some fresh attention and reach a younger audience. In 2005 he released a new album called "Devil's Playground" and it made it to #46 on the billboard 200 chart. He's even made guest appearances in movies such as "the Wedding Singer" and "Highlander: Endgame". To this day his songs continue to get a lot of play appearing in games like Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band. He will for ever be the only Idol I worship ;)

I've seen Billy in concert more times than I can count over the past decades and he is only getting better with age! Billy Idol came onstage full of energy, with his fist pumping, lip snaring and voice bellowing. He engaged the audience from right to left, dancing and changing his shirts numerous times (even tossing one out to the crowd)!

Steve Stevens wowed the crowd with several guitar solos played in between songs. He teased the audience with the opening to Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. Later, He and Billy did a duet at the beginning of "White Wedding" before the rest of the band came on stage and joined in.

The band played all the hits including: Mony, Mony, Rebel Yell, Dancing With Myself, Eyes Without a Face, Cradle of Love, Sweet 16, blue Highway, and Ready, Steady, Go. They also performed songs from the latest album, Kings and Queens of the Underground. It was an exceptional night!

Whatever has taken over Billy Idol is damn good!!

Having seen the band a few years previously I had enjoyed the gig but compared to the gig I saw this evening you would believe it was a totally different band. From the moment Mr Idol hit the stage he had the crowd totally in his hands, whether classic hits or new tracks from his excellent new album the momentum just did not stop.

His sheer enthusiasm spilled off the stage and grabbed you a speeding train and every song was met by deafening applause upon ending. Of course having superb guitarist and showman Steve Stevens at his side along with Billy Morrison on rhythm and vocals and a killer bass and drum section helps massively to drive this locomotive.

My advice, don't miss them if they hit your town, you will be guaranteed a fantastic treat delivered by a true artist.

truly extraordinary concert with Idol really fit, very warm even with the public that the contrary has proved rather detached. Leaving aside the punk, Idol was completely dedicated to rock and rock'n'roll never go down a level. Steve Stevens single, currently among the 5 best guitarists in the world has been satisfied in some parts of flamenco, his specialty. The whole band is really good and up to the task. Billy seems reborn, physically perfect as always but more charismatic of previous concerts in Italy. Good acoustic of the room, with light effects well studied. Maybe a little small the stage but probably there would be a larger one. To see .......

Everything was amazing! From valet parking, to easy wait to get in, all employees were professional and Billy exceeded expectations! Looks and sounds better in person! My 17 year old son had the best time also, even met some great people who are now friends! Waited less than 5 minutes for our car and on the road back to Columbus with less than 10 mins of traffic as we left. Grateful for all the folks who clean the floors, served us to Billy and his road crew make it all happen on stage! Takes a lot of people and they all did their part! Safe travels and if you can, Billy is a not miss concert! Thanks Billy for doing it like it is the first time!

This is my second time seeing Billy Idol at the same venue. The show was good but much shorter this time around. It lasted just under 90 minutes with no encore

I was only disappointed with the length of time the show went on for, but I guess that's what you get with a casino.

First time I sat up front this time in the upper level.

Steve Stevens was as good as ever and I would say even better this time around.

Over all I would say the show was great but could have added more value to the ticket cost if it had lasted another 30 mibutes.

Catch Billy at a vebue with no time limits on the artist and you will enjoy yourself.

Another fantastic performance from Billy Idol, Steve Stevens and the boys, full of energy, great playing and fab tunes. Unreserved seating upstairs at the O2 Brixton leaves a bit to be desired, even if only 7 or 8 rows back there are lots of restrictive views due to positioning of cameramen, railings and audience who think it’s ok to jump up and down in front of you despite there being no standing allowed. Appreciate everyone wants to jump around and dance to Billy but would have preferred to take my chances on floor standing and jumped around with them but still loved the gig. Preferred seeing him at Hammersmith.

Billy Idol special guest

On select dates, Idol will be joined by Australian singer-songwriter Alex Cameron.

Cameron, 32, plays a bit of a character onstage.

If you want a taste of his sound, you can check out his catalog here .

Billy Idol has announced a new run of 2023 North American tour dates set for the late summer.

The jaunt follows his recent spring outing and kicks off August 27th in Vancouver and runs through September 17th in Washington D.C. — just under a month before Idol’s late October residency at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

A Live Nation pre-sale starts Wednesday (May 24th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster  using the code ICONIC , with general ticket sales set for Thursday (May 25th) at 10 a.m. local time. You can also look for deals or buy tickets to sold-out shows via StubHub , where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.

So far, 2023 has been a banner year for the rock legend. Idol rang in the New Year by getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame , and last month, he played the first-ever concert at the Hoover Dam . The performance was professionally shot for an upcoming concert film that’s scheduled for a theatrical release later this year.

SunFest 2024 reveals lineup: Nelly, Billy Idol, Cole Swindell, Rebelution, Bryce Vine

Billy Idol , Shaggy, Yung Gravy , Dylan Scott and more than two dozen other acts will play at SunFest in May on the downtown West Palm Beach waterfront, festival organizers revealed Tuesday.

It will be a balancing act between attracting new fans and keeping long-timers. Bands and artists meant to attract younger fans will perform on the same day as acts that, SunFest organizers hope, will bring in older attendees. Unlike years past, artists are being grouped by day and stage to attract fans of individual genres. Hip-hop acts will perform opposite country singers on one day. The next day, reggae will groove on one stage as '90s and 2000s rock bands scream from another.

Dashboard Confessional, Matisyahu, Bryce Vine and others playing

Rappers Nelly and Kritikal, a West Palm Beach artist, will play one stage during SunFest’s first night on Friday, May 3, along with reggae rapper-singer Shaggy. Eighties rockers Billy Idol will play another stage that night.

Country singers Dylan Scott will sing Saturday night, May 4, on one stage, followed by Cole Swindell. Hip-hop artists Paul Russell, Bryce Vine and Yung Gravy will play that night on another stage.

Reggae artists Rebelution, Matisyahu and The Elovators play Sunday night, May 5, on one stage, with rock bands Third Eye Blind, Dashboard Confessional and Boys Like Girls rounding out the final acts on the other stage.

Smaller acts during daylight hours those three days include Fox Maple Band, The Aces, The Revivalists and more.

Photos: Best images of Sunfest Palm Beach County's biggest musical event of 2023.

How did SunFest 2024 choose these acts?

SunFest chose this year’s acts based on fan surveys, organizers say, and to spend less than what it did last year. SunFest 2023 “went all in on music and tried to focus on our signature headliners,” Executive Director Dianna Craven said. “This year we tried to go deeper.”

Acts such as Yung Gravy, Craven said, is “for our younger demographic,” while country artists playing Saturday afternoon, and '80s rockers, are “to appease older audiences.” Sunday’s reggae-heavy lineup is for SunFest’s most loyal fans, who love that music, Craven said.

SunFest attendance fell in 2023 to less than half of what it was in 2017. Craven, who has led the festival since fall, hopes to turn things around for the nonprofit, which has lost more than $6 million over the past seven years. While the festival won’t return to four or five days this year, its organizers have been boosting it earlier than ever, with hopeful results, Craven says.

SunFest started selling advance tickets Nov. 24, the day after Thanksgiving, and had three times as many sales compared with the previous year’s Black Friday promotion, Craven said. The festival also released its headliners Jan. 13 — Nelly, Cole Swindell and Third Eye Blind — earlier than it has in years past.

SunFest 2024's advance ticket prices - cost will go up Feb. 15

Advance ticket prices are lower this year, too. Adult three-day early bird tickets are $120, while a one-day pass is $60. Each is $10 cheaper than 2023 advance prices. The cost will rise on Feb. 15, Craven said. Tickets can be bought online at sunfest.com/tickets .

SunFest cut $1 million from its entertainment budget this year to book less expensive acts and help keep ticket prices down. In the past, they’ve had expensive bands such as The Killers (2023) and Boyz II Men (2022).

The festival’s art village, which is making a comeback this year after being cut in 2023, will have “interactive” art, Craven said. Details have not yet been released.

The festival is also seeking acts from Palm Beach County and across Florida to perform on one of its three stages. Applications close Feb. 9 and can be filled out online at sunfest.com/how-to-perform .

This year will be SunFest’s 40 th festival. It started in 1982. Organizers canceled it in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19.

Billy Idol Once Shot With Tranquilizer Dart by Thai Police After 3-Week Bangkok Bender?

In a 2016 interview, the "white wedding" singer admitted he was forcibly escorted from bangkok following a drug-fueled "sex holiday" with a friend., nikki dobrin, published april 22, 2024.

Mixture

About this rating

Billy Idol did go to Thailand in 1989 on a self-described, three-week bender, where he had to be subdued with some kind of sedative before local authorities forcibly placed him on a flight back to the U.S.

Members of the Thai Army, not Thai police, removed Idol from the country.

It's unknown/unclear exactly how he was sedated — by tranquilizer dart or some other method — and by whom.

Over the years, multiple reports and online posts have made the claim that in 1989, while on a three-week bender in Thailand, rocker Billy Idol was allegedly shot with a tranquilizer by Thai police before being removed from the country on a stretcher after causing significant damage to a hotel suite.

will billy idol tour in 2023

These reports suggested that Idol, whose real name is William Broad, engaged in significant drug use during his stay in Bangkok, leading to disruptive behavior that ultimately led to the "Eyes Without a Face" singer having to be sedated and forcibly escorted out of the Southeast Asian country.

While there are elements of truth to the story, the claim has been embellished and misrepresented over time. Let's examine the facts.

In a 2016 interview with Louder Sound , Idol admitted to visiting Thailand around 1989 for what he described as a three-week "sex holiday" with a friend, following the breakdown of his long-term relationship with dancer Perri Lister , the mother of his son Willem Wolfe Broad. In that interview, Idol acknowledged he engaged in excessive drinking and drug use during the trip, which quickly spiraled out of control.

"We went there to have a whale of a time – a sex holiday, really. But it got out of hand. Bad things started to happen," Idol told the outlet.

The 68-year-old recounted one incident in Thailand where he and his friend consumed heroin instead of cocaine, which they procured from a cab driver.

"We were just going to drink and not take any drugs," he recalled of his Thai getaway. "After about a week, drinking all the time was getting really heavy so we asked this cab driver if he could get us some blow. He went off and came back with this thin vial. It was six or seven inches long. We looked at each other, like, 'What do you think this is?' Because cocaine doesn't usually come in a long thing like that. My friend put his finger in it and had a taste [mimes gingerly dabbing a sample on to his tongue]. It wasn't blow."

This eventually led to Idol trashing his hotel suite while high, with several reports suggesting the damage ran between $140,000 and $250,000, and attempts to manage withdrawal symptoms with over-the-counter pharmaceuticals prior to their return flight to the U.S.

"This stuff was so strong and severely addictive that we then had to get off it before we could fly back home. It's a fourteen-hour flight, and there's no way you could do that while coming off heroin [laughs]. You had to get semi-well so you weren't s****ing yourself. We went to a pharmacy and got all these downers to knock ourselves out until we were kind of normal again."

Idol's disruptive behavior in the Thai capital is said to have attracted the attention of local authorities, leading to his removal from the country. However, there is discrepancy regarding the manner in which Idol was subdued. While some versions claim Thai police shot him with a tranquilizer, others suggest a local nurse or medical professional likely sedated him.

"The only trouble was that we'd got a lot of Valiums and heavy tranquillisers. I don't do well on tranquillisers at all," Idol told Louder Sound . "It just made me change personalities completely. I would become violent and start smashing things; I'd been lifting weights so I was massively powerful. I think we went through a few hotels like that before the Thai army escorted me out of the country on a gurney [laughs]."

In his 2014 autobiography " Dancing With Myself ," recalling the details of his 1990 motorcycle accident in Los Angeles while under the influence, Idol touched on his memory of his encounter with the Royal Thai Army after he was "tranquilized and lashed to a military stretcher." However, he does not provide specific details about the method of sedation:

The speed with which they transfer me to the hospital gurney and take me to the emergency operating room reminds me of an experience I had in Thai land the year before, where I was escorted speedily out of the country by a platoon of the Thai Army, tranquilized and lashed to a military stretcher. By the time I reach the emergency room, the pain is so intense my thoughts are stopped cold as my injuries wreak havoc on my nervous system. I am probably screaming, but I am deaf to any sound.

While there is evidence to suggest that Idol engaged in excessive partying and disruptive behavior during his visit to Thailand, the specific claim that Thai police shot him with tranquilizer remains unverified. The discrepancy between reports and Idol's own account, coupled with the lack of corroborating evidence, leads us to a rating of "Mixture." It is likely authorities sedated or subdued him, but the exact method remains uncertain.

Idol's struggles with substance abuse are well-documented, including instances of overdose and accidents related to drug use. However, he has since publicly acknowledged his past struggles and stated that he has not taken hard drugs since 2003. He maintains that he is not entirely sober, admitting to occasional alcohol consumption and cannabis use.

Snopes has previously reported on other rock stars and their experiences with illicit substances, including Keith Richards and his supposed blood transfusion , and an Axl Rose death hoax .

SunFest 2024 cuts spending on big music acts by $1M, brings in local bands, high schools

To stop the financial bleeding of Palm Beach County’s biggest annual music event, SunFest organizers have cut its music budget for big acts by more than $1 million in 2024. It also will bring in local bands and even try to book high-schoolers.

Organizers hope their lower-cost emphasis on local talent will reverse declining attendance. They will also cut ticket prices and bring back its third stage as well as the Art Village, a cluster of booths where artists sell their wares.

It's all part of an effort to turn things around for the downtown West Palm Beach waterfront multiday festival , which has lost more than $6 million over the past seven years while hiking prices, cutting days, booking fewer musical acts and removing longtime attractions.

More: SunFest has been in the red $1M per festival for years. Ticket prices have doubled. Why?

What local talent, bands can we expect at SunFest 2024?

"Talent will be straight from the community, engaging groups such as Dreyfoos School of the Arts and School of Rock, along with hyperlocal bands to highlight approximately 20 acts," SunFest Executive Director Dianna Craven said.

School of Rock is a music education franchise with locations in Palm Beach County. Organizers are discussing other ideas for local acts such as drum lines, dance groups and vocal ensembles, she said.

While SunFest 2023 cut the number of stages to two, SunFest 2024 will restore the third stage and reserve it for local acts. The other two stages will feature better-known bands and artists, but not the expensive ones Craven says drive up ticket prices.

"While The Killers put on an incredible performance for us this past year, SunFest is a community festival and we simply can’t afford to pay for bands at that price point," Craven said. Fans can instead expect 32 less costly acts like past performers Boyz II Men, Lil Wayne, AJR, Slightly Stoopid or Counting Crows, she said.

Tickets for SunFest 2024 in West Palm Beach

Festival organizers started selling adult three-day advance tickets at $100 from Nov. 23-28 at SunFest.com , cheaper than the 2023 early bird pricing of $130.

“Our surveys tell us that we got a little too high on our price point,” Craven said. “We’re working hard to bring that down this year.” It's the earliest SunFest has ever started selling advance tickets.

Single-day advance adult tickets are $60, and other tickets will be cheaper than 2023 prices, including gate prices, Craven said.

Advance all-days ticket prices have doubled since 2015. The nonprofit festival has had to raise rates to pay the ever-rising prices musical acts charge, former Director Paul Jamieson has said.

Why did SunFest 2023 cut Art Village, other attractions?

The plan for SunFest 2023 was to bring in big crowds by delivering the big artists attendees said they wanted, Jamieson said in April, while cutting attractions such as the Sunday night fireworks show and the Art Village, a cluster of tented booths in which local artists sold paintings, ornaments, clothes, jewelry and other colorful work.

Attendance fell to 75,000 this year — less than SunFest 2022 and less than half of each festival from 2013 to 2017. This year's festival lost $1.6 million, Craven said. She blamed the drop in attendance on SunFest shrinking to three days from four in 2022. Before 2018, it ran for five days.

SunFest 2023 made just under $5.9 million, Craven said, about $160,000 more than 2022. But it cost more than $7.5 million, which was about $100,000 more expensive than last year.

The festival spent $3.3 million on musical acts, more than half a million dollars less than 2022. It will cut that spending to $2 million in 2024, Craven said. “If we spend too much on talent, it unfortunately drives the cost of ticket prices up,” said Craven, who succeeded Jamieson in July.

The festival will still be three days.

Bands and artists in Palm Beach County and across Florida who want to perform at SunFest 2024 can find more information at https://www.sunfest.com/how-to-perform .

SunFest 2024 will also bring back its Art Village this year. “That’s something we heard loud and clear from those that attended last year that they missed,” Craven said. The fireworks show, however, is not budgeted.

SunFest 2024 will run May 3-5. It will be the 40th SunFest. The festival started in 1982 but was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here’s Where to Watch Billy Joel’s Madison Square Garden Concert Special Online

  • By John Lonsdale

John Lonsdale

Quick Answer: Fans can watch the Billy Joel 100th – Live at Madison Square Garden concert special online for free with trials to DirecTV Stream , fuboTV , and Paramount+ with Showtime .

Billy J o el kicked off his legendary Madison Square Garden residency back in 2014. Years later, the music legend celebrated his 100th MSG show at the end of March, with special guests, including Jerry Seinfeld. Now fans who didn’t get to see the Piano Man’s show in person will get another shot at seeing it all online, thanks to an encore of The 100th – Live at Madison Square Garden concert special.

“There’s three things that make Billy a genius of music: The voice, the music, the writing of the most beautiful songs,” Jerry Seinfeld told Madison Square Garden’s audience at the show in March. “But there’s another thing about Billy that makes him so unique and so special. It’s that we captured how we all feel living in this particular part of the world, Long Island [and] New York.”

Continued Seinfeld: “He is like the companion that we have gone through our whole lives with. His music is our best friend for our whole life. I don’t even think he can understand how much his music means to us being from where we are.”

After getting cut short by two minutes when it initially aired on April 14 due to what CBS called a “network programming timing error,” the Piano Man’s concert special will air once again — disruption-free — today on the network starting at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. But for Joel’s fans who don’t have access to a tradition cable package, they can still stream the 100th special online. Read on for our streaming guide.

How to Watch Billy Joel’s 100th Madison Square Garden Concert Special Online

If you want to watch the encore of Joel’s 100th – Live at Madison Square Garden concert special, you have a few ways you can tune in online.

Stream Billy Joel Concert Special on DirecTV Stream and fuboTV

DirecTV Stream and fuboTV each carry CBS in their channel lineups, so you can watch the broadcast once again even if you’ve already cut the cord. DirecTV Stream and fuboTV both offer free trials before you have to pay a monthly subscription fee. Fans can score a five-day free trial at DirecTV Stream , and a seven-day free trial at fuboTV .

Stream Billy Joel 100th Concert Special on Paramount+ with Showtime

Another way that fans can livestream the Billy Joel concert special online is with Paramount+ with Showtime . The package lets you watch local channels in real-time, including today’s CBS encore broadcast, starting at $11.99 a month. But best of all, you can score a one-week free trial to stream the Live at Madison Square Garden special before you have to pay a dime.

Following the premiere of the concert special, Joel’s Madison Square Garden run will wrap in July 2024, where he’ll play his 150th show, with tickets still available to purchase online.

Billy Joel's 3 Daughters: All About Alexa, Della and Remy

Billy Joel shares adult daughter Alexa Ray with ex-wife Christie Brinkley and young daughters Della Rose and Remy Anne with his current wife, Alexis Roderick

Billy Joel is a girl dad.

The singer welcomed his first child, daughter Alexa Ray Joel , 38, in 1985 with his then-wife, model Christie Brinkley . In 2015, he became a father again with the birth of daughter Della Rose Joel , 8, whom he shares with his fourth wife, Alexis Roderick. The couple's second daughter, Remy Anne Joel , 6, was born two years later.

After meeting at a Long Island restaurant in 2009, Joel wed Roderick in July 2015 during their annual Fourth of July party at Joel's Long Island estate. Roderick, an accomplished equestrian and a former executive at Morgan Stanley, gave birth to Della one month later. "Billy is thrilled to become a dad again," a source told PEOPLE at the time.

Joel's daughters often support him when he's on stage, and this year, the musician celebrated a big milestone in his career: The 100th show of his residency at Madison Square Garden. The concert was filmed for a special that aired on CBS on April 14, but after it was cut short when Masters Tournament coverage ran longer than the network expected, CBS announced plans to re-air Billy Joel: The 100 — Live at Madison Square Garden on April 19 at 9 p.m. ET.

In 2019, the music icon told Rolling Stone that he often gets mistaken for his youngest kids' grandfather.

"I take (them) to school and one of the other parents will go, 'Oh, your granddaughter's so cute,' " he shared. "I still love being a dad. I didn't know that I would be a father again at this age, but I'm glad I am," he added. "They keep you young."

Over the years, Joel's music fame has afforded Della and Remy several special experiences, including meeting Taylor Swift , performing "Jingle Bells" at Madison Square Garden and attending the 2024 Grammys .

Here's everything to know about Billy Joel's kids: Alexa Ray, Della and Remy.

Alexa Ray Joel, 38

Joel married supermodel Christie Brinkley in 1985, and the former couple welcomed their first and only daughter that same year. Alexa Ray was born on Dec. 29, 1985, in a Manhattan hospital.

Named after the great Ray Charles, whom her father duetted with on "Baby Grand," Alexa Ray is now an accomplished singer-songwriter herself.

Alexa had a fairly normal upbringing and had "no idea" her parents were famous while growing up on Long Island. "My parents tried to shield me from how famous they were when I was growing up," she told New York Magazine in 2010. "When everybody said 'Hello, Billy! Hello, Christie!' — I just thought they were popular."

An accomplished and classically-trained pianist, Alexa Ray started composing music and writing poetry at a young age, and she already had a repertoire of finished songs complete with lyrics and a piano arrangement at 15.

"I grew up listening to my dad write songs at the piano for hours," she told Chorus and Verse in 2006. "I definitely believe that music is something that is in my blood, something that I was born to do."

Her first EP, "Sketches," was released independently the same year, and her latest single, pop ballad "Seven Years," debuted in 2021, inspired by her fiancé Ryan Gleason . Her father had the sweetest reaction to hearing the track for the first time, and called her right away. "He's pretty low-key, but he was like, 'Honey, this is great!' So enthusiastic!"

"I write music in the same way [Joel] does: melody first, and lyrics second," she once said of her songwriting process, and added that both her parents "couldn't be more supportive." Over the years, Alexa Ray has appeared in several of her dad's music videos, including "The River of Dreams" and "A Matter of Trust."

The singer-songwriter got engaged to her longtime partner Gleason at the start of 2018. "FOR ONCE in my life, I had absolutely no words, and I couldn't speak," she said on Instagram of the surprise proposal .

While the couple's wedding plans had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the bride-to-be told PEOPLE she has a clear vision for the nuptials : "We want that Cipriani-vibe, very New York, old-school Italian," she explained. And of course, there will be a father-daughter duet! "We're going to sing. We're going to duet. It's going to be like a musical."

Alexa Ray is close to her younger siblings, too. In December 2020, the "Uptown Girl" singer shared an adorable video of Della singing happy birthday to her big sister. "Happy Birthday to our big sister @alexarayjoel," the post read. "You have been singing us lullabies since we were born. We are so excited to finally get to sing to you on your birthday. We love you more than words can say!"

Alexa Ray often performs with her dad, and even when she's not on stage with him, she shows her support in other ways. Ahead of the re-aring of the Billy Joel: The 100 special on CBS, she posted a clip on Instagram to remind her followers to tune in.

"Just a reminder to catch the Full Re-Airing of Pop’s 100th Show at ‘Madison Square Garden’ on CBS TV TOMORROW NIGHT! ON: FRIDAY, APRIL 19TH 💫 AT: 9 PM EASTERN✨You know I’ll be watching n’ singing along… P.S. I’ll be seeing you back at The Garden soon," she wrote in her caption.

Della Rose Joel, 8

Joel's second child — and first with wife Alexis Roderick — Della Rose was born on Aug. 12, 2015, in New York.

Two days after her birth, Alexa Ray celebrated her new little sister on Instagram , writing, "Celebrating the arrival of my precious little sister this week 🙌✨With Pop and his Darling's happiness at their peak. As long as you are growing in love and loyalty you're cultivating a life worth more than royalty, 👑💎."

While playing Madison Square Garden in July 2018, Joel dedicated "Don't Ask Me Why" to then-3-year-old Della. "It's her favorite!" he said.

Later that year, little Della joined her dad on the same MSG stage to sing "Don't Ask Me Why " — clad in pink Christmas-themed pajamas.

On Della's birthday in 2021, Joel shared a heartfelt Instagram post in her honor. "Happy 6th Birthday Della Rose! On your birthday it reminds us of how grateful we are to have you in our lives," his post reads. "You and your sister have been our quarantine entertainment. There are no other people we would want to be stuck with at home!!! We love you more every day and year."

Remy Anne Joel, 6

Joel and Roderick welcomed their second child, Remy Anne, on Oct. 22, 2017. Following her birth, a rep for Joel told PEOPLE exclusively, "Everyone is thrilled." Both Joel and his eldest daughter Alexa Ray were present in the delivery room.

In October 2023, Joel celebrated Remy's 6th birthday with an Instagram carousel of the little girl. "Happy Birthday to our Remy Roo. We love the person you have become," he wrote in the caption. "You definitely broke the mold💕💕 Happy 6th Birthday, sweet girl!"

The birthday tribute also included a photo of Remy posing next to a horse.
