I'm a 2001 Alum. The quality of education is good for Literature, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Art History, History, and International Affairs. It's generally a good liberal arts school. Since my time they added several majors as well as Masters' degree programs. Needless to say, you will be in Paris, one of the great capitals of the world and you will meet multilingual, adventurous, international types, especially children of wealthy families. Good for networking. Some departments lack good professors and resources. If you are pursuing studies in medicine, math, and science, or specialization in a field, this is not the place for you. However, being in Paris you can access other institutions who can help your ambitions. Or you can study in AUP for 2 years and then transfer to a bigger-name school. There are logistical problems, such as sourcing the right place for you to live as there is no central campus. The administrative staff can be rude, abrasive, and ignore you. Organizational problems occur frequently. All in all, you make your own destiny and the quality of your education depends on how much you apply yourself.
Not to show my sell by date, but when I attended AUP it was known as the American College in Paris, and occupied the American Church around the corner on Quay d'Orsay. Better times and deeper alumni pockets have enlarged the institution to what it is today, a fully accredited university in the American system that allows easy transfer of credits to any recognized school in the USA. Must be nice to have that all taken care of by the administration. Back in the day, I found my way there through an international exchange program sponsored by the University of Maryland, even though I was enrolled at George Washington University, several miles away. Still, it was a great program that liberated me from the wearies of traditional pedagogies, and introduced me to the greater Universe. Art courses were taught by artists and brilliant teachers, and French language, by Professor Moray, who most of you don't know, but was quite a character, who would snort in both Francais and Anglais to make his point. It was quite an experience to be American, 19 years old, and living in Paris. Revolution was on the ground and in the air. We were all Knights Templar by night, in search of the holy grail to fill with drinking adventures. Sure, we went to school (until we shut it down), but the real classes were on the streets of the Latin Quarter after midnight. Our teachers introduced us to existentialism far beyond what any book could provide. We loved and we lost. We gambled our infinite energies away for a song and a chance to find the secrets of life. Only we know how well we succeeded.
The American University of Paris (AUP), founded in 1962, is a liberal arts university that is recognized in the American system so the credits earned are transferable to universities in the United States. AUP offers a series of Bachelors in Comparative Literature, Art History, Film Studies, Global Communications, Economics, Applied International Finance and a series of Masters in Communication, International affairs and Finance, as well as a series of other classes and minors. The student body has the particularity of being international with a very wide diversity. There is a large number of North American students but also French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Moroccan, Algerian. In total about a hundred different nationalities. The Internet web site is http://www.aup.fr/main/about/default.htm
Where one chooses to go to college speaks a lot about a person. I chose AUP and couldn't have made a better choice. A great education, life long friends, and getting to spend 4+ years in Paris (many more for me).....there really wasn't a downside. The years spent at AUP will stick with me forever and I think that everyone who went to school with me feels the same-- there is no place like AUP.

Beautifully designed property in excellent location! Had a fabulous stay and would stay again!
Wow! This place is perfect! I booked this apartment on a leap of faith. It was new to Booking and had no reviews at the time. I needed a place for my family to stay and this apartment is in a great location and the pictures looked great. I want to assure you that it is everything that it shows in the pictures and more! The host is very responsive to any and all communication. It is accessible to the metro and a few blocks more to the RER. The area has many restaurants, bars, boulangerie/patisseries, grocery and wine store within feet of your door. We were even surprised with a Christmas tree in the living room to make for a festive stay!
The apartment was beautiful, clean, comfortable and walkable to many sites. Host was very accommodating and responsive. The apartment was even decorated for Christmas. my family had a wonderful stay.
Excellent location!
