Encrypted Email Storage

How secure is this.

Our service ensures your mailboxes are only accessible by you and are not stored in a shared database. We purposely designed our service so that it operates in-memory when you connect and we don't even have access to your mailbox at rest. If you forget your password, then you lose your mailbox and need to either recover with offline backups or start over.

How do I get started?

Simply go to My Account → Domains → Aliases, click Add Alias (or) Edit Alias, and then click the checkbox to enable IMAP Storage. You can even have both IMAP storage and forwarding recipients enabled at the same time.

What email clients can I use?

You can easily send and receive email with these popular email clients using our instructions (click here) .

  • Windows®
  • Android™
  • Chrome®

How does it work?

We use individual mailboxes encrypted with your password. Our service uses encryption-at-rest (AES-256), encryption-in-transit (TLS), and industry standard security procedures. We are also 100% open-source and privacy-focused. At anytime you can download, view, export, backup, and/or delete your mailboxes – and easily migrate to or from another email service provider .

What are your storage limits?

If you exceed the default storage limit of 10 GB, then you can purchase additional storage as needed. Additional storage costs $3 per month per each additional 10 GB. Storage is shared across all of your domains and aliases, but you can impose limits if desired on a per domain and alias basis. Unlike other email providers, you do not need to pay for storage on a per domain or alias basis. You can even bring your own storage provider for backups to use with our service – such as Amazon, Backblaze, Box, Cloudflare, Digital Ocean, Dropbox, SFTP, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, or any S3-compatible storage provider. This means you can own your data and most importantly – you don't have to operate and maintain your own email servers .

Change default Safari email client to Gmail

How do I change the default email client in Safari on the Mac to Gmail? Mailto tags currently open in Eudora, but it's time to move to Gmail.

Update (2016) : find up-to-date advice in this question on Ask Different: How can I use Gmail as the default mail client app in Mac OS X?

The remainder of this answer (written in 2009) is obsolete, as Google Notifier for Mac is no longer supported.

Here's one way:

  • Install Google Notifier for Mac
  • Open Mail.app, go to Preferences -> General, and set "Default email reader" to Google Notifier.app. (Yes, you need to set this in Mail even if you don't want to use Mail...)

alt text

  • This notifier is really annoying. Can I make it alter safari but not constantly throw up overlays about new mail? –  Nick Retallack Sep 12, 2009 at 20:42
  • @Nick, easy; open its Preferences (from the menu bar icon) and uncheck "Display new message pop-up" (or "Enable Gmail notification" altogeter). Mailto links still go to Gmail. –  Jonik Sep 12, 2009 at 21:10
Gmailto No. 2 is a little app that allows you to set Gmail as your default email client in Mail.app, so that any email link you click opens a new email in Gmail’s web-based interface. Download it, put it wherever you like and then open Apple Mail’s General Preferences. Select Gmailto (2) from the list like this and you’re all done: As you can see from the screenshot, two Gmail notification utilities — GmailStatus and GmailNotifier — allow you to do the same thing, but if you don’t want to use either of them, this little app will get the job done.

Edit: Apparently this app was created in 2004. I found a Greasemonkey alternative.

But I also found a mirror!

  • Gmailto seems like the thing, but the link to the download file doesn't work. Do you have a direct link? –  WireGuy Aug 10, 2009 at 18:59
  • You ask, I serve –  Ivo Flipse Aug 10, 2009 at 19:30

There is also a Safari extension (and Chrome extension) called mailto: which also offers the same functionality.

  • Chrome: http://code.google.com/p/mailto-chromeextension/
  • Safari: https://extensions.apple.com under Email (or direct install )

Unlike some of the other solutions posted here this still works as of 2013.

  • For Safari at least, the "mailto" extension stopped working with the release of Safari 12 when Apple blocked legacy extensions. –  fpotter Feb 8, 2019 at 21:12

I used Webmailer years ago, when I was on Tiger. I’m not sure if it works with Leopard, but back then it worked pretty well. You could use it to set pretty much any webmail as the default mailto client, not just Gmail.

Guillermo Esteves's user avatar

If you simply want to use GMail within your default browser in the regular fashion, the other answers you've already gotten are the way to go. If you'd like to run GMail in its own application wrapper (with some nice extra OS integration features), though, I'm glad to suggest Mailplane . It's awesome. You can then set it as the default mail client like any other email app.

hasseg's user avatar

In 2019, you can use Open In Webmail to make Gmail open whenever you click a mailto: link in Safari.

In years past, Google Notifier did this (now cancelled), the mailto extension worked (stopped working with Safari 12), there was GmailTo (site and mirror are dead), and Webmailer (no release since 2012).

To use Open In Webmail —

Install from the App Store .

Set Open In Webmail as your default mail app in Apple Mail's Preferences.

Open Mail . From the Mail menu, select Preferences . Choose Open In Webmail as the default email reader.

If Mail asks you to sign-in to an account and won't let you get to Preferences, follow this guide to get past it.

mail.app preferences

Launch Open In Webmail and select your webmail service.

screenshot

Test using sample mailto links from here .

The above works for Yahoo, Outlook, Fastmail, and other services, too.

For Chrome or Firefox, see this answer for a way to do this without installing any extra apps (though the above works for those browsers, too).

Disclosure: Open In Webmail is my app. I wrote it when the mailto extension stopped working.

Email a Web Page in Safari Instead of Sending a Link

Save the recipient a step

Tom Nelson is an engineer, programmer, network manager, and computer network and systems designer who has written for Other World Computing, and others. Tom is also president of Coyote Moon, Inc., a Macintosh and Windows consulting firm.

How do I send a web page by email? The usual way to share a website with someone else is to send them the URL, but Safari has a better way: emailing the whole page .

The screenshots here were taken in Safari 13.

Send a Whole Web Page in an Email

You can send a page along with a note to any recipient.

Select File > Share > Email This Page , or press Command + I .

Alternatively, select Share in the Safari toolbar. It looks like a page with an arrow pointing up.

Select Email This Page from the popup menu.

Safari will send the page to Mail, which will open a new message that contains the web page. Add a note if you like by clicking inside the top of the message.

Enter the email address of the recipient and select Send .

Send a Reader, Web Page, PDF, or Link Instead

Sometimes, sending a web page in Mail with all of the associated HTML code can be problematic for the receiver. They might have their email client set not to show HTML messages because these are common indicators of spam or phishing, or a method of distributing malware. Or they simply just don't want HTML messages.

If your recipients fall into the above category, send a link instead of the whole web page. When the Mail app opens a new message, look for the popup menu on the right-hand side of the message header with Send Web Content As. You can select from:

  • Reader - this will send the web page while stripping out most ad content. The email message will also have the web page URL included.
  • Web Page - This is the default setting; it will send the web page as \presented in the Safari web browser . You may notice it is not an exact match. While Safari and Mail use the same rendering engine, the mail app may not display the same because the Mail window is a different size. Itwillalsoincludethe web page URL within the message.
  • PDF - Mail will save the web page as a PDF that is attached to the email message. It will also include a link to the web page.
  • Link Only - The message body will only include a link to the web page.

Not every version of the Mail app will have the above options available. If the version of Mail you are using lacks the Send Web Content As menu, you can use the following options to send only a link:

Send Just a Link Instead

Depending on your version of Safari, select File > Mail Link to This Page , or press Command + Shift + i . Add a note to your message, enter the email address of the recipient, and select Send .

If you're using OS X Lion or later, the File menu might lack the Mail Link to This Page item. Although Safari still has this capability, it's just not on the list anymore. So, no matter which version of Safari you're using, you can send a link to the Mail application by using the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + I .

Mail Message Subject

When Mail opens a new message using Safari's Email a Web Page option, it prefills the subject line with the web page's title. You can edit the subject line to create something a bit more meaningful. In many cases, just going with the original web page title may look a bit spammy and cause the recipient's mail system to flag the message.

For the same reason, try not to use a subject such as "Look what I found" or "Came across this." Those are likely to be red flags to spam-detection systems.

Printing a Web Page

Another option for sharing a web page is to print the page and share it the old-fashioned way: by handing the page out. This might be a better choice for sharing in a business meeting.

How to customize your email settings in the Mail app on Mac

e mail for safari

The official Mail app is perhaps the most used software title on macOS. To maximize your Mail experience, you should consider customizing your email settings. Here are the ways you can customize the email app on Mac.

Check for new messages frequency

You can adjust the Mail app to check for new emails automatically, according to a schedule, or manually. With a schedule, you can decide how much time should pass before the system looks for new mail again.

  • In the app, click on Mail in the macOS menu bar.
  • From the Mail pulldown menu, select Preferences .
  • Click on the pulldown to the right of Check for new messages .

check for new messages time

Your choices are: Automatic, Every minute, every 5 minutes, every 10 minutes, every 30 minutes, every hour, or Manual.

By default, the system checks for new mail automatically. You may want to change this setting if you don't want to be disturbed by receiving further emails, have a slow connection or some other issue.

Change new message sound

When you receive a new message in Mail, you can get a sound alert on your Mac. To adjust this setting:

  • Select Mail from the Mail menu bar.
  • Click on Preferences .
  • Go to the General tab.
  • Click on the pulldown to the right of New messages sound .

Mail alert sounds

You can select from a list of over 10 built-in sounds. You can hear a sample by clicking on them.

Change new message notifications

Perhaps you don't want to be alerted when every new email arrives. Instead, you only want to know when new emails arrive from specific individuals or groups.

  • Click on the pulldown to the right of New message notifications .

mail vip only

Your choices are Inbox Only (the default), VIPs, Contacts, or All Mailboxes.

With VIPs selected, you'll only get alerted when your most important contacts send emails. By contrast, when Contacts is selected, you'll receive a notification every time any of your contacts sends a message. With All Mailboxes, you'll receive notifications whenever a new (but unopened) message is dropped into any folder in Mail.

Change dock unread count

By default, the unread email count on the macOS dock is based on the number of unread messages in the Inbox. However, you can change this -- at least slightly.

  • Click on the pulldown to the right of Dock unread count .

mail dock unread

Your choices are Inbox or All Mailboxes. Selecting the latter means you'll see a count of all unread emails across all the folders in Mail -- including your junk folders.

You can turn the unread count off completely by doing the following:

  • Click on System Preferences in the macOS dock.
  • Select Notifications
  • Click on Mail on the left side of the screen.
  • Uncheck Badge app icon .

turn off mail uncut

Strong security protections in Safari help keep you safe. Passkeys introduce a safer way to sign in. iCloud Keychain securely stores and autofills passkeys and passwords across all your devices. Safari also notifies you when it encounters suspicious websites and prevents them from loading. Because it loads each web page in a separate process, any harmful code is always confined to a single browser tab so it won’t crash the entire application or access your data. And Safari automatically upgrades sites from HTTP to the more secure HTTPS when available.

Passkeys introduce a more secure and easier way to sign in. No passwords required.

Step 1: Open Safari Preferences

To begin the process of changing the default email address in Safari, the first step is to access the browser's preferences. This can be easily accomplished by following a few simple clicks within the Safari application.

Access Preferences: Once Safari is open, navigate to the top-left corner of the screen and click on "Safari" in the menu bar. A drop-down menu will appear, and within this menu, select "Preferences." Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut "Command + ," to directly access the Preferences window.

Preferences Window: Upon selecting "Preferences," a new window will appear, displaying various settings and customization options for Safari. This is where you can modify a wide range of browser settings, including the default email address.

This tab serves as a central hub for various fundamental settings that impact the overall browsing experience within Safari. By selecting the General tab, users gain access to essential customization options, including the ability to modify the default email address associated with the browser.

Upon entering the Preferences window, you will notice a series of tabs at the top of the window, each representing different categories of settings. The General tab serves as a pivotal point for users to manage foundational settings that shape their interaction with Safari. It consolidates essential options in a user-friendly interface, empowering individuals to effortlessly tailor the browser to their specific needs. This intuitive design ensures that users can easily locate and modify the default email address, streamlining the process of sharing content and communicating via email while browsing the web.

By selecting the General tab within the Safari Preferences window, you are poised to proceed to the next step of updating your default email address. This deliberate and straightforward navigation within the Preferences window sets the stage for the seamless customization of your browsing experience, reflecting your current email communication requirements and preferences.

Step 3: Change Default Email Address

With the General tab selected within the Safari Preferences window, you are now positioned to modify the default email address associated with the browser. This pivotal step empowers you to align Safari with your current email communication preferences, ensuring a seamless and efficient sharing and communication experience while browsing the web.

To change the default email address, focus your attention on the "Email Address" field, prominently displayed within the General tab of the Preferences window. This field contains the current default email address used by Safari for various web-based activities, such as sharing web pages and sending emails. By updating this field with your desired email address, you effectively customize Safari to reflect your current email communication requirements.

To initiate the modification, click within the "Email Address" field to activate the text input. Once the field is active, proceed to enter your preferred email address. Whether you've recently created a new email account, transitioned to a different email provider, or simply wish to update the default email address for personal or professional reasons, this straightforward input process accommodates your specific needs.

As you input the new email address, ensure accuracy and double-check for any typographical errors to guarantee that the updated default email address is entered correctly. Attention to detail during this step is crucial, as it directly influences the email address used by Safari for sharing and communication purposes.

Upon successfully entering the new default email address, take a moment to review and confirm the accuracy of the input. This verification step mitigates the risk of potential errors and ensures that the updated email address aligns with your intended customization.

Once you have confirmed the accuracy of the newly entered email address, proceed to the next step, which involves saving the changes to solidify the updated default email address within Safari. This seamless process ensures that your browsing experience remains tailored to your current preferences and needs, reflecting your chosen email address for sharing and communication activities within the browser.

By following these straightforward steps, you effectively change the default email address in Safari, empowering you to personalize the browser to align with your current email communication preferences. This essential customization ensures that Safari seamlessly integrates with your chosen email address, enhancing your browsing experience and streamlining the process of sharing content and communicating via email while navigating the web.

Step 4: Save Changes

After successfully updating the default email address within the General tab of Safari Preferences, the final step involves saving the changes to solidify the newly customized setting. This pivotal action ensures that the updated default email address is seamlessly integrated into Safari's functionality, reflecting your chosen email address for sharing and communication activities within the browser.

To save the changes, direct your attention to the bottom-right corner of the Preferences window, where you will find the "Save" or "OK" button, depending on the version of Safari you are using. Clicking this button serves as the definitive action to confirm and apply the modifications made to the default email address.

Upon clicking "Save" or "OK," Safari will promptly update its settings, incorporating the newly entered default email address into its operational framework. This ensures that the browser recognizes and utilizes the updated email address for various web-based activities, such as sharing web pages and sending emails.

It is important to note that the act of saving the changes is a crucial final step in the process of updating the default email address. By confirming the modifications, you effectively ensure that Safari aligns with your current email communication preferences, enhancing your browsing experience and streamlining the process of sharing content and communicating via email while navigating the web.

Once the changes have been saved, you can confidently exit the Preferences window, knowing that Safari now reflects your chosen default email address. This seamless customization empowers you to make the most of Safari's features, leveraging the updated default email address to facilitate efficient sharing and communication activities during your web browsing sessions.

By following these straightforward steps and concluding with the essential action of saving the changes, you have successfully updated the default email address in Safari. This seamless process reflects your current email communication requirements, ensuring that Safari aligns with your chosen email address for sharing and communication activities, thereby enhancing your overall browsing experience.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

Please confirm if Outlook won't open only when using safari and works well with other browsers i.e Chrome, Edge?

May you please confirm that it was working before and if so did you make any recent change in your mac settings?

If it used to work, please try to reset your browser settings:

#Clear history ( open safari > clear history)

#Clear the cache ( safari > preferences > advanced > show develop menu > empty cache )

#Delete cookies( safari > privacy > Manage cookies > remove )

# If not enough, you can delete extension and auto fill data.

May you please make sure your apple software is up to date, it includes updates for safari too.

Please try to see if Outlook will load when using a private window, in Safari please do the following:

# Choose File > New Private Window

#Choose Safari > Preferences, then click Privacy.

#Click Manage Website Data.

#Select the affected website from the list shown.

#Click Remove.

#Click Done.

#Open Outlook again in a non-private browser window.

Please feel free to let me know how it goes.

Kind Regards,

Wildlife Safari welcomes new Wallaroo joey

Wildlife Safari welcomes new Wallaroo joey

WINSTON Ore. (KPTV) - Wildlife Safari announced a new addition to the Australia walkabout. The new Joey was born in July, 2023, to mother Kari.

When born, Wallaroo joeys are less than one inch long and spend up to 270 days in their mother’s pouch.

“An interesting fact is that the joey crawls from the birth canal into the pouch on its own,” Dan Brands, Curator at Wildlife Safari said. “At just the size of a jelly bean, it follows a trail of the mother’s saliva, using scent to navigate to the pouch since its eyes are not fully developed.”

Around six months of age joeys begin taking trips out of the pouch and by nine months, they are out and exploring the world.

“We are overjoyed to welcome this new joey to our Wildlife Safari family,” Rachael Mohlman, Village Supervisor at Wildlife Safari said. “Now that the joey is out of the pouch, we are excited to see how its personality grows.”

In a statement, Wildlife Safari said, “This birth is not only a cause for celebration but also a testament to our ongoing efforts in wildlife conservation and education. It provides visitors with a unique opportunity to witness the beauty of nature up close and learn about the importance of protecting these incredible animals and their habitats. Wildlife Safari remains committed to providing a safe and enriching environment for all its inhabitants while offering visitors unforgettable experiences that foster a deeper connection with wildlife.”

College of Nursing

Memorial health donates two anatomage tables to springfield campus, text of pull quote heading link copy link.

Memorial is excited to work with UIC and UIS to ensure the long-term success of the UIC Nursing-Springfield program. This dynamic nursing education program is making it possible to educate more young people interested in practicing nursing in central Illinois. Text of the story Heading link Copy link

A woman interacts with high-tech digital screen

The UIC College of Nursing’s Springfield campus and the University of Illinois Springfield unveiled two Anatomage Tables on April 15.

The high-tech tables, donated by Memorial Health, will allow students to use the interactive and immersive tool to visualize human anatomy as they would on a cadaver.

In addition to UIC Nursing students, the new technology will be used by UIS students who are studying athletic training, biology and exercise science, as well as by pre-nursing students (freshmen and sophomores at UIS who are preparing to enter the nursing program as juniors).

“The Anatomage Tables give students hands-on experience doing virtual dissections and help them develop skills that are important in the workforce,” says UIS Chancellor Janet L. Gooch. “We greatly appreciate Memorial Health for its strong community support and commitment to educating the next generation of health practitioners.”

The donation of the tables builds on a 10-year partnership formed between UIS, UIC Nursing and Memorial Health for the purpose of launching a nursing program in Springfield, with the first cohort of nursing students enrolling in 2016. Over that time, Memorial Health has donated nearly $8.5 million to secure faculty, enhance clinical learning spaces, and has provided scholarship support of approximately $4.5 million to students aspiring to a nursing career.

“Partnerships like this one benefit not only Memorial Health, UIS and UIC Nursing, but the entire central Illinois region,” says Ed Curtis, president and CEO of Memorial Health. “The steps we are taking now will ensure Memorial and other health care organizations can continue caring for local residents in the decades to come. We’re pleased to have both UIS and UIC Nursing as partners in this important work to improve the health of the communities we serve.”

Diving deeper Heading link Copy link

Sara McPherson , PhD, RN, CNE, director of UIC Nursing -Springfield, says the tables will be useful in anatomy and physiology I and II, both pre-nursing courses, as well as the nursing courses pathophysiology and pharmacology.

“As we study disease processes, the Anatomage Tables will allow us to dive deeper and show students where problems occur in the body or what organ damage occurs from them,” she says.

Dissecting human cadavers is not typically a part of the nursing curriculum, so the life-size virtual dissection tables will allow instructors and students to interact with 3D images of anatomy with touch-screen technology.

“This table will help us bridge the gap between clinical and didactic coursework, just being able to visualize and break down the levels of anatomy while looking at the physiology of a virtual patient,” says Christian Geronimo, a UIC Nursing – Springfield BSN student.

Marsha Prater, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, CNO Emeritus, Memorial Health, says the healthcare organizations are one of the biggest employers in Springfield and the surrounding region. While there are shortages in many healthcare disciplines, the registered nurse workforce is deeply affected, she says. Educational resources like the Anatomage Tables are an important tool to recruit and engage students to join the health sciences.

“Technology is so engaging for a learner,” Prater says. “To be able to see 3D images of the body, to see the connections, it’s really quite eye-opening and enables learners to get excited about the complexity of the human body.”

McPherson says instructors will be able to change the gender, age and condition of the “patient,” allowing students to see a multitude of case studies. The tables will supplement learning taking place in the simulation lab with simulated patients, she adds.

“Depending on what condition or disease process our simulated patient has, we can look at it with the Anatomage Table,” McPherson says. “We’ll be able to see both angles: what the patient presents like on the outside, and what’s actually happening inside the patient.”

Golra-attock khurd safari tourist train relaunched.

e mail for safari

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Railways on Sunday revived its Safari tourist train from Golra to Attock Khurd to attract tourists and promote the culture and scenic beauty of Potohar region.

Secretary Railways Abdul Malik inaugurated the tourist train at Golra Railway Station. Railways’ Divisional Superintendent Nooruddin was also present.

The tourist train completed its journey from Golra to Hassanabdal, Attock Khurd and Attock city and surrounding areas.

The basic aim to run the train service, which was initially launched in 2021 and suspended the same year, is to help tourists from the country and abroad experience travelling through the scenic landscape of Potohar consisting of Margallah Hills, Sangjani tunnel and minor and major bridges of Chablal, Haro, Ghazi Barotha and Attock Khurd.

The train passes through the old iron girder bridge which is the most important strategic and commercial crossing on the Indus between Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The inaugural function was held at the Golra railway junction, which was constructed in 1882. Pakistan Railways has also constructed a museum at the station to present the vintage of past years, especially the British rule.

The total capacity of the Safari train is 356 seats and on the first day more than 400 people arrived to ride it. The tourists visited the Golra museum and appreciated the conservation work there.

The train departed from Rawalpindi railway station at 8:15am and started its venture from Golra at 9am and after a break at Hassanabdal reached Attock in the afternoon and came back to Rawalpindi at 5pm.

The visitors were provided a variety of local delicacies, sweet lassi and popular fast-food items. The railways divisional superintendent told Dawn that the tourist train will go to Attock Khurd every Sunday through Golra and Taxila.

He said it was a joint venture of Pakistan Railways and a private company, PK-Unicorn.

He said upon arrival at Attock, a plethora of activities from river visits to camel riding and a lunch featuring local delicacies were arranged. There is at present the capacity of 356 passengers on the train but more bogies would be added to it in case of an increase the number of tourists.

Speaking at the inaugural function, the secretary railways said the Safari train was an important initiative to promote culture and beauty of the country.

He said it would be a source of recreational activities and help promote tourism in the area. Such a train service also should be launched in other areas of the country, he added.

AI Stocks: 9 Biggest Companies in 2024

e mail for safari

April 22, 2024 — 04:30 pm EDT

Written by Melissa Pistilli for Investing News Network  ->

Artificial intelligence (AI) may be an emerging technology, but there are plenty of billion-dollar companies in this space.

As the market has grown over the past few years, AI technology has made strong inroads into several key industries, including logistics, manufacturing, finance, healthcare, customer service and cybersecurity.

While AI-driven advancements in robotics have received the most press in recent years, the latest buzz has centered around OpenAI’s ChatGPT . This intelligent chatbot shows how quickly generative AI is advancing, and has attracted the attention of heavyweight technology companies such as Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT ), which has reportedly invested billions of dollars in the privately held OpenAI. Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOGL ) has also released its own AI chat tool, Google Gemini.

On a global scale, Fortune Business Insights predicts that the AI industry will experience a compound annual growth rate of 20.2 percent between 2024 and 2032 to reach a market value of more than US$2.74 trillion.

Here the Investing News Network profiles some of the biggest AI stocks by market cap on US, Canadian and Australian stock exchanges. Data was gathered on April 12, 2024, using TradingView’s stock screener .

American AI stocks

According to Tracxn Technologies, the number of US AI companies has more than doubled since 2017 with over 70,700 companies working in the sector today.

One of the major factors fueling growth in the American AI market, states Statista , is “the growing investments and partnerships among technology companies, research institutions, and governments".

Below are three of the top US AI stocks.

1. Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT)

Market cap: US$3.134 trillion; share price: US$421.74

In addition to the reported billions Microsoft is committed to investing in OpenAI, the technology behemoth has built its own AI solutions based on the chatbot creator’s technology: Bing AI and Copilot . OpenAI officially licensed its technologies to Microsoft in 2020.

An update to Windows 11 in 2023 integrated Bing into the operating system's search bar, allowing users to interact with the chatbot directly with Microsoft's Edge browser, Chrome and Safari.

Microsoft’s moves into generative AI have translated into higher revenues for its Azure cloud computing business, and a higher market capitalization as the tech giant pushed past the US$3 trillion mark in January 2024. The company is also expected to unveil its first AI PC this year.

2. NVIDIA (NASDAQ:NVDA)

Market cap: US$2.215 trillion; share price: US$866.11

The global leader in graphics processing unit (GPU) technology, NVIDIA is designing specialized chips used to train AI and machine learning models for laptops, workstations, mobile devices, notebooks, and PCs. The company is partnering with a number of big name tech firms to bring a number of key AI products to market.

Through its partnership with Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL ), NVIDIA is developing AI applications for enterprises, such as language-based services, speech recognition and cybersecurity. The chip maker has been instrumental in the build out of Meta Platforms’ (NASDAQ: META ) AI supercomputer called the Research SuperCluster, which reportedly uses a total of 16,000 of NVIDIA's GPUs.

Most recently, NVIDIA and the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (NYSE: TSM ) have developed the world's first multi-die chip specifically designed for AI applications: the Blackwell GPU . Blackwell’s architecture allows for the increased processing power needed to train larger and more complex AI models.

NVIDIA’s AI ambitions were on full display at its GPU Technology Conference in March where CEO Jensen Huang presented his company’s plans to build humanoid robots , known as Project GR00T. “Building foundation models for general humanoid robots is one of the most exciting problems to solve in AI today,” stated Huang in his keynote presentation.

3. Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL)

Market cap: US$1.967 trillion; share price: US$158.92

Alphabet holds court with both Microsoft and NVIDIA as part of the tech sector’s Magnificent 7 , and its foray into AI has also brought the tech giant much success. As of April 12, Alphabet’s market cap looks set to surpass the US$2 trillion mark .

It would seem investors still remain confident in the potential for growth in Alphabet’s AI ventures despite its hiccups in the rollout of its subsidiary Google’s AI chatbot Gemini, formerly called Bard. “While the headlines haven’t been favorable, Google’s role in generative AI products will present massive growth opportunities for the stock,” said Sylvia Jablonski , chief executive officer at Defiance ETFs.

In early April, Google introduced a custom AI chip designed for its cloud services customers. Set to be delivered later this year, the technology uses British semiconductor company Arm Holding's (NASDAQ: ARM ) AI architecture. In the same week, Google revealed its new A3 Mega AI processor based on NVIDIA’s H100 Technology.
