We are different. We book the best hotels at the heart of each city and we arrange logistics of your trip so you travel on the most comfortable mode of transport between cities - in Europe this is usually trains or private drivers. With us, you have a choice to travel private or with a small group. Our small group tour is not a bus tour. It is like a private tour where few couples share a guide during the day program. And our private tours are just as good as the most expensive luxury tours, but better - they cost 2 times less.

How we compare : Luxury tours are very expensive because luxury travel companies buy tours from actual operators. In essence, you overpay for the brand names. Unlike them, we organize our tours ourselves. We with actual local suppliers, guides, drivers, rail companies, hotels. This is how we are able to bring you great rates and this is how we are able to control quality without asking you to pay for more it. Our typical tour costs $200 per day for small group and $300 per day for private.

Our entire Australia trip was planned by Firebird and all activities were organized exactly to how I wanted it. Customer service was always available via phone for urgent questions or emergencies. I plan to choose Firebird for a future overseas trip.

First trip to Italy

This was my first trip to Italy and using Firebird. They did a great job and were very attentive. They followed our flight from Dublin to Venice and recognized we had two delays. Our driver in Venice was right there when we finally arrived and took us to the water taxi which took us very close to our hotel. My only concern was the length of the various tours. Seven out of the 8 people in our group were senior citizens and all 8 agreed the 4 hours of touring and walking was tiring, and after a while people started tuning out the guide. It would be most welcomed if there was a break in the middle. All our guides were very knowledgeable and considerate. Transportation was handled very well. I would use Firebird again and recommend them to others planning a trip. At Firebird I corresponded with Greta and she always got back to me promptly and answered all my questions.

Fantastic Firebird arranged Scandinavian trip

Firebird arranged a fantastic trip of the Nordics for the five of us. Across Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark the accommodation, transport, activities and transits were first class and seamless. I highly recommend.

This travel agency is the best

This travel agency is the best! They planned everything meticulously, from the taxi transfers to the airplane tickets and the tours. They made my experience an unforgettable adventure to Finland. They answered my emails almost immediately taking into consideration that they are stationed in Europe. I will be back for my next adventure!

Amazing Scandinavian Adventure

Our trip was such a wonderful experience. The team created the perfect Scandinavian experience for us. Each stop was different from the one before, and we were always in awe of all the things we were able to see and do despite the limited time. The Firebird team hit all of our bucket list items, from visiting the Vasa Museum; staying at the original Ice Hotel; dog sledding; and we were lucky enough to enjoy the Northern Lights at two of our stops. All of our hotels were perfect with the friendliest staff, great food and perfect rooms. The transfers made traveling from Denmark to Sweden to Finland as stress free as possible. This trip is one that we will always remember.

My son and I attended a Jungfraujoch…

My son and I attended a Jungfraujoch Tour with "Best of Switzerland Tours" and our tour guides were Peter and Xiaolu. I would have to say, that these two were excellent tour guides. They were both very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend these two as tour guides. Thank you both for your patience as well.

Overall great trip

Overall our trip was great. Italy march 2024,, Belle Italia with Amalfi. We were met at the airport, transfers were done efficiently and most of the guides were excellent. Our guides in Venice and Florence were excellent..Josephina in Venice and Lori in Florence, They were very knowledgeable and funny! Most of the hotels were great. Cons:1) we were in Walking thru Rome tour the same day that we reached Rome. This tour was a bit much, walking for over 3 hours thru all the crowded and busy lanes with the guide Natalya talking non stop. She was good but her command of English was bit poor and so she kept repeating facts over and over. She went to the extent of naming all the streets( who would even remember!), she also explained facts about the colosseum and wasted time , probably not knowing we were visiting it the next day. This tour covered too much and the facts were going over our heads. She also missed the Spanish steps which was to be in the tour, Also the tour ended by the Trevino fountain and we were left to walk back to our hotel which was quite far. 2) Brings me to the issue of our hotel in Rome had been changed, and it was not at all in a central spot. It was quite far away from the attractions. Our hotels in Florence and Rome were changed just before the trip..Why I do not know. 3) we were told our train tickets would be in the Firebird app but they were not.in fact I called Firebird and they sent me a link, thru which I downloaded the tickets. The tickets also had the names of the other people in our group. This was not right as everyone should have been able to access their tickets thru the app, as we were told! 4) our trip to the Vatican began late and so the guide Luigi simply skipped the Basilica as it closed at 6, again this was not right, we should have gone first to the Basilica and then the Vatican. But we were simply told that we can’t do it as it closes at 6! The rest of the trip was great, Pompeii was good with a great guide Claudia although wish we could have stayed longer. The pizza provided was also delicious. Do wish Firebird would provide some dinners as well, as this is a pretty pricey tour! Sorrento/ Amalfi were gorgeous as well and we did have a great driver Antonio and guide. Overall it was a very good trip even though Rome was somewhat of a let down. Firebird needs to fix these issues with changing hotels and keeping the tickets on the app. One good point was that although we were told initially we would have to pay a citytax on the hotels, none of them actually charged us for it.

Our trip to Italy was a dream trip that we never expected to happen. We had heard excellent recommendations about Firebird so we gave them a try. Best decision for us. Every thing was perfectly planned and executed. We went (for us) first class. Train transfers, drives, hotels, separate tours…everything went like clockwork.

They suggested tours and we could pick which ones we wanted. Tour guides covered all of our transfers arriving exactly on time at airports and hotels. Exceeds Expectations

We booked a holiday to Finland and cannot fault Firebird Tours. From the initial enquiry and booking through to last minute changes while we were in Finland, Firebird were always courteous, efficient and prompt. When there was an unexpected problem, it was always solved promptly. On one occasion a private transfer was caught in the snow so we paid for our own taxi. Within 24 hours Firebird refunded the taxi fare and provided free tickets to a local attraction. On another occasion, we were meant to have a Northen Lights experience but the weather was unfavourable. Firebird contacted us and offered alternative experiences at the same time and cost. I highly recommend using Firebird for a stress free holiday.

Firebird Tours, Trip to Switzerland, France, Spain

Firebird was professional and responsive from our first contact. They helped us prepare a great itinerary that hit all the high points we targeted. They were timely and helpful when we reached out during our trip. Hotels were all very nice and a couple exceptional, only one was disappointing. Guides were 5 out of 5 stars. Our Bella Italia Tour was everything we hoped it would be

Firebird Tours was fabulous to work with from booking and pre-visit questions to all the details of our trip being perfectly orchestrated. We were taken care of every step of the way with first class guides, hotels, and transportation. UK & Italy September 2023

We truly enjoyed our experience with Firebird Tours/Triptile to customize our trip to London, Naples & Rome! Everything from the initial planning to the actual trip went well. It was nice to not have to worry about transportation between airports and train stations as well as for the tours. There was a hiccup or two but those were solved right away by the support team. We would definitely book through Firebird again for future trips!

This was our first vacation with Firebird Tours

This was our first vacation with Firebird Tours; however, it will not be our last. Thomas B. Was very helpful setting up our trip (providing support until our departure and responding quickly to us during our trip). The hotels were excellent, as were the highly curated experiences. We absolutely loved our tour experience in Venice, Italy Elisabetta Amadi was our tour guide during our time spent walking the beautiful bridges and going back in time with all of the history there. She did such an amazing job with us in August 2023 visit that we came back again Sept 2023.

Terrific trip to Japan

Thank you to the entire Firebird team for an awesome trip to Japan. My wife and I spent 11 days seeing Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima and Miyajima. Everything ran exactly like scheduled. The hotels, drivers, guides, trains, activities, tours, etc were all great! The overall service during the trip and in helping us plan the trip was also fantastic. Thanks again, Firebird, for a very memorable experience.

Excellent Experience

From start to finish, our small-group tour to Italy with Firebird Tours was top-notch. The booking process was clear and easy. The Firebird staff responded very quickly to any questions and requests. The hotels were so beautiful and hotel staff all were extremely friendly and accommodating. All of the tour guides were so personable and clearly were expert in their field, so professional. Drivers were great, helped with our luggage when needed. While on tour, if we had any questions or concerns, Firebird responded immediately. We are now completely hooked on Firebird Tours and will travel with them again very soon!

Would not use Firebird again

Firebird is incredibily difficult to deal with. With every difficulty a different person would answer. It was hard to make them understand exactly what we wanted regarding hotel rooms, and when it came to paying we were given three different bank account numbers. I was beginning to think we had been scammed. The trip itself was great. We visited wonderful places and mostly the guides and drivers worked out well, Although the Oslo driver didn’t turn up, and the one meeting us at the airport came with no sign so we didn't know who he was. Overall we loved the places we went to but wouldn't use Firebird again because they were too frustrating to deal with.

We are very sorry that the driver didn't hold a sign, we addressed it right away when we learned about the issue, and a refund was provided swiftly from our side for the service that was not delivered as planned. Indeed, we do have multiple people who can reply to you to provide a faster reply to your question. We do that on purpose to make reply times as short as possible. And if you prefer to have only 1 person communication for your trips that is not a problem as well, just it might take longer time to provide you with required answers and details. We work around the clock as a team, and only period of time as individuals. And yes, we do offer multiple payment methods as well, sorry if it might come across as confusing, but we simply give various options for our customers to choose from. We learn your preferences with every trip that we are planning for you and will be sure to note your specific preferences for your future trip with us. Once again thank you for allowing us to plan your wonderful journey to Scandinavia!

Firebird a disappointment

Fragmented service. Poor English skills. Misrepresentation of services. Example: we paid premium price for driver and car, private, but received only a taxi cab, which I could’ve taken care of myself. Had to get another driver for one leg of our trip, because the one assigned to us gave us the impression he was falling asleep at the wheel, and had no meaningful English skills. Difficult to get responses on emails. Poor telephone service and callbacks. Very unlikely to use this company again.

We enjoyed the whole trip a lot

Overall we enjoyed the whole trip a lot. Moscow is beautiful and clean. Thank you very much for your patience and excellent organization of this tour. Everything ran very smoothly and according to schedule. The guides met us on time at hotels or at our train carriage on arrival. They all spoke good English, had a good local knowledge and were very kind and helpful.

The tour lived up to all expectations

I’m most pleased with Travel All Russia in arranging our ‘Volga Dream’ Russia tour, I would recommend using your services again as every aspect of our tour went off without a hitch. In Autumn 2020 they were joined by Director Chris Thompson, followed by fellow Directors Mark Bush, Safia Bhutta and Matt Purser in 2022, and Lucy Haines and Gordon Mathie in 2023. All are passionate about the sector and, between them, have over 190 years of experience growing, developing and exiting successful travel and leisure businesses. They have worked with companies of every size , from start-ups to PLCs.

Ian has spent over 30 years in the travel and leisure space: a career encompassing inbound operations, language schools, activity centres, hotels, bars and restaurants, and outbound tour operating.

He has raised investment on several occasions and has sold businesses that he has owned to both the trade and to private equity. Ian has been a Director of more than 50 businesses during this time, and has run businesses in 11 countries around the world. Businesses he has run have ranged in size from £3m - £250m turnover, and have always been characterised by fast, sustainable and profitable growth.

Since 2018, Ian has taken on a plural career and enjoys working with a diverse group of exciting businesses. He is very happily married with four children and a dog, and lives in the New Forest.

S TEWART L AMBERT

Stewart is a Chartered Accountant with more than 25 years' experience working in corporate finance, advising owner managers on selling their businesses, raising finance and making acquisitions.  Unusually, Stewart has also worked as a venture capitalist and acquired businesses, enabling him to be part of transactions from all perspectives.

Stewart has always specialised in advising travel businesses (both leisure and corporate travel) and has had involvement with businesses including Travelbag and Journey Latin America, as well as advising Ian on his two Management Buy-Outs and disposals.

Stewart lives in Winchester with his wife and two teenage children, and spends his time persuading his family to let him go on adventures to far-flung parts of the world!

CHRIS THOMPSON

Chris has spent almost 20 years leading and growing businesses in the travel and technology sectors. Prior to that he was a department head at TUI travel.  Chris’s career has centred on creating strategy, building teams and devising processes that are both efficient and build value. In 2004 Chris bought into niche ski operator, Ski Famille, which he grew into a well-recognised winter sports specialist; he led the successful sale of the business to a leading industry figure in 2013. In 2019 Chris left tour operating to support the founders of an innovative technology and design business, before launching his own travel and leisure focus ed consultancy early in 2020. Chris lives in Hampshire with his wife and children, and gets out on a bike or a boat whenever possible.

M ark has spent over 20 years in travel and leisure. First working in IT internationally for TUI, he became MD within the Specialist and Activity Sector. Achieving annual turnovers of up to £50m, he was later MD and co-owner of Ski Armadillo, the luxury ski chalet company, then CEO of a privately-owned education group.

In 2022, Mark deepened his knowledge of data science with an MSc in Business Analytics from NYU Stern. He supports sector leaders to implement powerful Business Analytics and martech solutions in B2B, B2C and eCommerce, and is an expert in innovations employing MS Power BI, Tableau, GA4, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, as well as programming in R and Python.

Mark lives in Brighton with his wife and two children, where they enjoy dreaming about – and planning – their next holidays.

SAFIA BHUTTA

Sales and Marketing, Commercial Strategy, M&A, MBOs

Safia is a highly commercial Marketing and Sales Director with over 10 years‘ experience in the travel industry.

In that time she has helped numerous businesses to grow  –  holding both executive and non-executive board-level director roles  – and completed two MBOs.

In addition to marketing and sales, Safia specialises in commercial strategy –  from pricing to product planning, margin analysis and yield management.

Since joining Firebird, Safia has also become involved in M&A: working with companies to formulate and present their story, and preparing them to pitch to potential buyers and/or investors.

Safia has four children and occasionally manages to find the time to play the cello and dabble in creative writing.

MATT PURSER

Management Information 

After joining the travel industry in 1989, Matt worked for ATOL at the Civil Aviation Authority. There, he was heavily involved in scoping out changes to the regulations, to ensure consumers continued to be financially protected.

In 2005, he set up the Travel Trade Consultancy (TTC) and helped grow it from a start-up to a million-pound-turnover business, with 16 members of staff.

During his 17+ years at TTC, Matt helped a diverse range of tour operators comply with ATOL regulations. He also focused on supported businesses in their strategies to be more efficient, while growing the bottom line. 

Matt is married with two young sons and loves to travel the world – as well as watch, play and coach football.

LUCY HAINES

Management Information, Finance, Leadership, Strategy, Investment

Lucy started as an Investment Analyst of travel and leisure companies for Schroders before transitioning to work in the travel and hospitality industry exclusively. There she held both Finance Director and Managing Director roles in a number of companies with turnovers of up to £50m, including Compass Group, Vinopolis, and portfolio businesses within TUI Travel.

In all of her positions – both within FTSE 100 listed companies and in smaller, privately-owned businesses – Lucy has been responsible for driving financial performance and turnaround. As a consultant, she specialises in helping businesses establish financial reporting and obtain financial insight as they grow, attracting investment. 

Lucy holds a Master’s in Engineering with Management and is CIMA/CGMA and IIMR qualified. She lives in London with her husband and three children and when she gets the chance enjoys spending time in the mountains or on a boat.

GORDON MATHIE

Gordon's 30+ year career has encompassed both the travel and education sectors, involving oversight of hundreds of thousands of specialist online transactions, millions of unique users, and successful launches in the US, Australian and South African markets.

Starting out as a Senior Manager for Accenture, Gordon  cut his teeth in the fast-paced eCommerce SME environment .  After leading the sale of i-to-i to First Choice plc, he founded  LoveTEFL. There he successfully secured  private equity investment, embarking on a growth strategy that encompassed international expansion and an acquisition of a competitor.

In 2020, Gordon acquired The Teach & Travel Group alongside its management which, with Firebird’s help, he then sold in 2021 for a 16x return on his investment.

Gordon is married with children. A born adventurer, he is reasonable at table tennis and pool, but hopeless at darts and karaoke…
