The UK rapper has announced his rescheduled UK & Ireland 2021 dates for his 'EDNA' live tour.

Headie One has revealed that he will be going on tour this year for his No.1 charting album 'EDNA'.

On Friday (Feb 26) The UK rapper - born Irving Ampofo Adjei - announced his UK & Ireland tour dates for 2021.

'EDNA' is Headie One's debut studio which was released in October 2020. The Tottenham rapper dropped the deluxe version on Friday 12th February.

The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, selling 15,494 copies in its first week.

Headie's album 'EDNA' has guest features from M Huncho, AJ Tracey, Stormzy, Young T & Bugsey, Young Adz, Future, Drake, Skepta, Ivorian Doll, Kenny Beats, Aitch, Haile, Mahalia, and Kaash Paige.

Gig Review: Headie One UK tour Edna at Manchester Academy

One of the UK’s leading rappers Headie One gave Manchester a night to remember. The atmosphere electric, bursting with compelling drill music and staples of rhythmic grime showcasing Headie’s talents.

Upon the initial release of ‘Edna’ in October, the album debuted at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart making history as the first drill album to achieve such a milestone. Headie is known for signature hits and fan favourites including ‘Know Better’, ‘18Hunna’, ‘Both’, ‘Only You Freestyle’ featuring Drake and ‘Ain’t It Different’ with AJ Tracey and Stormzy.

The album Edna is named after Headie’s late mother, ‘Edna Duah’ who passed away when he was a child. The album is a tribute and dedication to his mother.

Kickstarting the event off with DJ GBE warming the crowd up with much loved contemporary rap music. After that was Moneybagz, Ivorian Doll, OFB Bradz, Dezzie and Bandokay, leaving Headie to close the show.

Headie performed songs from debut album (‘Edna’ – deluxe edition) and new mixtape: ‘Too Loyal For My Own Good’ lyrics depicting headie’s personal experiences in life’s hardship accompanied with a hip hop beat and catchy hooks.

Each supporting act performed with energy and each gave thrilling performances. The staging fixtures of red lighting set the intimate mood of the music and changed throughout varying the tone and vibe of each performer. Allowing the crowd to get more hyped the longer the night went on. Hardcore fans created mosh pits encouraged by artists.

The event was well secured creating a safe feeling and cushion of support if needed with staff present around the venue, the dance floor wasn’t too packed which allowed room to dance and be able to get served at the bar in a fast and efficient manner. COVID passes where checked upon arrival following government guidelines and providing a COVID safe environment.

The event was celebrated mostly by a younger audience, targeting drill and grime lovers. Audience members get to experience a former prison inmate turned artist grinding and making change.

The concept album Edna echoes a similarity of Chicago hip-hop and can be recognised by its violent, dark lyrical content. Headies Drill music focuses on crime and the daily ordeals of life on the streets, outlining his most open and reflective state, rapping about emotions and pivotal life changing topics.

Headie One announces 2021 UK and Ireland tour

Including a massive date at the SSE Arena Wembley in London

Headie One has announced a UK and Ireland tour for May 2021 — check out details of the run below.

The London MC is aiming to tour next year in support of his new album ‘Edna’ , which was released last Friday (October 9).

Set to kick off in Bournemouth at the O2 Academy Bournemouth on May 3, 2021, the tour includes stops in such cities as Bristol, London (where he’ll play at the SSE Arena Wembley), Dublin, Liverpool and Birmingham.

The ‘Edna’ tour will conclude with a date at Nottingham’s Rock City on May 19, 2021.

Headie One is among the artists who will perform at Rolling Loud Portugal 2021 , which is set to take place next year from July 6-10.

Headie One: Rapper's tour bus pulled over in Leeds by armed police

A rapper's tour bus was pulled over by armed police just minutes before he was due on stage in West Yorkshire.

Headie One, whose real name is Irving Ampofo Adjei, was due to perform at Leeds O2 Academy on Monday evening.

The stop was shown live on the drill artist's Instagram account, which has more than 846,000 followers.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed armed officers had stopped a vehicle in Leeds city centre and said no arrests were made.

In the video, a man can be heard shouting "my hands are up" as the bus door is opened.

Armed police can be seen on the street and one officer points to someone on the bus and tells the person recording the incident to "step out".

One of the men leaves the vehicle, repeating "my hands are up" and asking "what's wrong?"

In the footage, the police then appear to try and restrain one of the men who can be heard saying: "You're going to break my wrist, bruv."

At another point, the man states "relax, I'm not fighting you" to an officer who then tells the man to "stop fighting us".

Police can also be heard ordering the man broadcasting via Instagram to put his phone down.

From the video, it appears officers removed and restrained the men who had been seated in the back of the bus.

In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "Armed officers conducted a stop on a vehicle in Leeds city centre yesterday evening. No arrests were made."

The incident meant the performance by the 27-year-old, from Tottenham, was slightly delayed.

Headie One's debut album, Edna, named after his late mother, reached number one in the UK Album charts in 2020.

His publicist and management have been approached for comment.

Headie One links up with Stormzy on new track, "Cry No More"

Headie One has released "Cry No More" as his first single this year, taken from his forthcoming album, The Last One .

Cry No More features Stormzy who previously featured on Headie’s track, "Ain’t It Different". The accompanying film, conceptualised by Headie and directed by RAWTAPE (Keshi, Kasabian, NTS), shows both artists on the streets of their hometown, portraying the good, the bad and the ugly side of London life with Stormzy.

“This is one of my favourites from the album.. I loved the sample and 808s straight away when Tay (Keith) and Pooh (Beatz) played it in the studio. Stormzy went crazy on it too,“ Headie says. "The video concept was to show people that everyone has struggles they have to deal with daily. That’s no different to myself and Stormzy, regardless of what people think we’ve achieved in our careers. We still have things in life we have to deal with like everyone else”.

The Last One is Headie’s second album following his debut, Edna in 2020 which reached number one in the UK album chart, making history as the first drill album to achieve the milestone.

The Last One to be released in June via Columbia Records, and is available to pre-order now .
