Getting back to your house post-game.

Posted on 01 January 23 at 18:04 Is the teleporter the only way to get back? I used it to get to the forest area to search for collectibles and now I can't find it. There should be some type of quick travel option

If you're a beginner looking to give High On Life a try, check out these tips and tricks to hit the ground running in this wacky shooter.

High on Life is a game made by the creators of Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites. It is about a boy and his sister who get teleported into space by a talking gun called Kenny. The game's main point is to become a bounty hunter and kill all the G3 head honchos, who have invaded Earth in order to harvest humans for their potential as drugs.

Along the way, you will pick up different weapons to use, and of course, they all talk to you too. If you want to jump into this game and give it a try, and you want some tips for getting started, then read on!

10 Utilize Your Different Weapon Abilities

Each gun you get in the game not only talks but has its own ability you can use . For Kenny, the first gun you get, he has Glob Shot, which fires a slimy projectile that knocks enemies into the air. This is great when faced with multiple enemies clustered together or if you have one big enemy you want to interrupt.

When enemies are launched, they can not shoot back or attack you giving you time to get shots off or kill them without them getting close. Each weapon offers powerful and unique abilities, and as the game goes on, you can acquire mods to enhance them. For example, with Kenny, you can acquire a mod enhancing your Glob Shot to bounce to other enemies after hitting and launching a target.

9 Use the Visor To Track Destinations

In High On Life, there is very little information on the HUD, so you can sometimes forget where you are going. That is why they added the destination function. When you get the Bounty Hunter suit, this pops up as waypoint marker for you to follow and find your way .

The game allows you to explore all the different parts of each planet and map you are on. However, it can be easy to stray from the mission objective, so this feature will make sure you always know which direction to head back in.

8 Use The Radar To Find Collectibles

In the bottom left of the screen, you will find a radar this will show enemies as red dots — so you know where they are and where they are coming from. This radar will also show you where collectibles are, so if you see white come up on it, then it is likely a chest will be nearby.

It is worth trying to find these chests when you can as you can get pesos or trading card collectibles. It is worth it for the pesos alone so you can upgrade your guns. Some chests you won't be able to access just yet, as they'll require a specific gun ability to help you reach them; don't worry about these until you return to the area later.

7 Remember To Collect Warp Crystals

Throughout each planet you go to for bounties, there will be enemy bases for you to clear out. By clearing out all the enemies, you will unlock and collect a warp crystal somewhere in the base.

Once you have collected enough warp crystals, you can go visit the chef on Blim at Blorto's Shop and purchase Warp Discs to use as you play the game. These Warp discs can be used to visit several unique locations, including a full movie theater where you can watch several very cheesy movies .

6 Try To Take Off The Enemy's Armor

When you are shooting at enemies, you will be able to take off their armor. You will see while shooting the G3 goons that the yellow armor will start coming off as you are shooting them. This will then allow you to use Knifey and execute them, which is quicker than shooting them sometimes.

As you progress through the game, you will also unlock a gun that will suck the armor off of enemies , making them more vulnerable and easier to kill or execute.

5 Collect The Yellow Canisters

When you kill enemies, they can drop yellow canisters. T hese canisters are used to overshield you , so on top of your normal health bar, you can gain an overshield too. These will heal you on pickup, so if you have low health, these will heal. If you have full health, then they goes to the overhealth bar.

When you come to a boss fight, you will find these canisters dotted around the area you are fighting in, so make sure to keep an eye out for them when battling; they might mean the difference between victory and defeat.

4 Use The Environment To Defeat Enemies

When faced with a room full of enemies or a whole hoard of them, you can thin out the pack with the use of the environment. A lot of the time there will be barrels and canisters that explode if you shoot them.

By using these barrels, you can take out multiple enemies and help take the pressure off yourself. You can also utilize the Glob Shot to kill enemies by knocking them up into the air by cliff edges. That way they will either fall off — or a well-placed shot will push them over the edge.

3 Upgrade Your Weapons

In order for you to keep up with enemies growing in strength, you need to make sure you are keeping your guns up to date. There are different upgrades you can get for each gun to make it stronger and better to use . You can increase ammo, decrease reload time, and also upgrade the power shots that each gun possesses.

For example, you can upgrade Kenny so that his Glob Shot recharges quicker, which can really help in tense battles.

2 Look Out For Vendors

On some maps, you will come across Vendors who are selling different upgrades . These are great to keep an eye out for as you can get a quick health increase and purchase upgrades for your guns before you get to your boss fight.

These are great to find when you are struggling on a level but don't want to go all the way back to Blim to use the pawn shop.

1 Certain Paths Require Upgrades

In High On Life, after you have visited an area, you are able to return there later on. Because of this, there will be paths that you cannot take until you have unlocked a certain weapon or skill . So, when you are trying to travel a path and cannot get through, make sure to return later on as there will be collectibles and chests for you to find there.

For example, when you unlock Gun, a gatlian that shoots saw blades, you can use those to climb certain types of walls. This allows you to reach high points you were not able to before, and you can use Knifey to grapple to ledges or use the Wasps to swing from.

High on Life is absolutely brimming with personality, and its large and loud world is begging you to explore every nook and cranny. With thousands of lines of dialogue, a metroidvania type world to explore, and constant unlockable upgrades, it’s pretty easy to miss something the game has to offer.

Fortunately, the internet is a thing, and with it, you don’t have to miss anything ever again! One of the most hidden things in High on Life is the secret ending, which could potentially tease plans for a sequel. If you want to know how to unlock the secret ending in High on Life , here’s everything you need to do.

How To Unlock The Secret Ending In High On Life

Firstly, as this is a secret ending, after all, make sure you progress far enough into the game. We found we were able to trigger it after beating the Nipulon bounty. Once this has been done, your next port of call should be to go back to Clugg’s Office - the mayor you meet earlier in the game.

You can visit this by using the teleporter in your house. Go to Nova Sanctus and then Clugg’s Office. Once you arrive here, you’ll notice that the room is empty with Clugg nowhere to be seen. However, if you examine the table you will notice something you can pick up, which is the Human Haven Keycard.

With this, return back to your home and use the teleporter again. This time, you want to go to the Unknown Sector and choose the Human Haven location. Travel through, and you will come to a location where all the humans you’ve saved in the game will be hanging out. For this next part, you will need to do some platforming, which is made easier if you’ve obtained a few jetpack upgrades. If you’re struggling, visit Mr. Keep’s Pawn Shop in Blim City and use your coins to grab some.

With your jetpack in hand, use the platforms above you to begin reaching the top. Keep going until you get past the platform with the red light and you reach the final platform above. You’ll see a keycard reader, which you can use the Human Haven Keycard to enter. Use it and continue forward.

You will now be in the area that triggers the secret ending and reveals why Clegg has disappeared. It’s fairly linear, so follow the corridors forward until you reach a cutscene at the end. Once the cutscene ends, you will have witnessed the secret ending and a portal will open behind you, allowing you to enjoy the rest of High on Life .

Bounty Missions are Not Replayable

Unfortunately, bounty missions cannot be replayed after you finish them. In order to go toe-to-toe against the many bosses in the game again, you will need to start a New Game from the main menu.

No New Game Plus Available

Unfortunately, there is no option to start a New Game Plus (NG+) run with your current save. Players who want to replay the bounties to get missed achievements will have to start the game from scratch.

Can Continue Exploring After Killing Garmantuous

On the bright side, players can still explore the different planets after they defeat Garmantuous. Once the credits stop rolling, simply select Continue from the Main Menu screen and it should spawn you back at the house where Gene congratulates you for killing the G3 leader.

How to Get to Zephyr in High on Life

High on Life features several impressive -looking worlds and environments that you’ll visit as you bring down the G3 cartel. Among them is Zephyr Paradise, which is the second world you’ll unlock, and where you’ll take down a number of G3 operatives. But, how can you get to Zephyr Paradise? Read on to find out more about interstellar travel in High on Life.

In High on Life, in addition to teleporting to relevant worlds in pursuit of main quest objectives, you can visit said worlds while you’re ‘off the clock,’ so to speak . It’s easy ! Just interact with the bounty machine in your living room, and, instead of the bounty window, click the second tab. Here, you’ll be able to select from Nova Sanctus (where Blim City is), Zephyr Paradise, Port Terrene, and Unknown Sector (where the so-called Human Haven is located).

In the context of Zephyr Paradise, you can choose to teleport to three different locations on the planet: Deep Jungle, Upper Valley, and Jungle Clearing. If you’re in the High on Life post-game, it makes heading back in pursuit of loot even easier than it would be otherwise.

What Does the Third Bounty Machine Tab Do?

Speaking of the bounty machine, in addition to the bounty tab and portals tab, there’s a third . But, it’s out of order, and doesn’t ever get activated in the main game. It could exist primarily as set-dressing, to make the bounty machine feel like it’s been used extensively in the past. But, it could also be a hint at things to come, as Squanch Games has confirmed they’ll be releasing DLC. It’s unclear what this DLC could manifest as, at publication time. It could involve a third functionality for the bounty machine, though.

High on Life is a first-person shooter action and adventure game with several Metroidvania elements. Coming from the Co-creator of Rick and Morty, this game features a plethora of immersive and beautiful worlds. As you progress, you will come across a bounty to find Dr. Giblets on Zephyr. But as confusing as this game is, several players are confused about reaching Zephyr. Not to worry, check out our location guide on how to get to Zephyr in High on Life to find out.

How to Get to Zephyr in High on Life

You can reach Zephyr Paradise by using the bounty machine in your living room. Follow the below steps to get to Zephyr:

• Firstly, get back to your house in the living room as soon as you receive the bounty.
• You will see the Bounties section as you interact with the machine. You will see details on Dr. Giblets and the reward for completing the bounty.
• You have to hit the second option on the Bounty machine which will open the Portals section.
• Then, select the Zephyr Paradise under different unlocked Worlds in High on Life.

• Deep Jungle
• Upper Valley
• Jungle Clearing
• You can select any of the above options to reach Zephyr world. But if you are looking to find Dr. Giblets, Deep Jungle would be the right choice.
• As you hit the Deep Jungle option, hit the Activate Portal option.

• Now, pass through the Portal beside the machine to get to Zephyr.

Furthermore to Zephyr, there are also several other worlds you can explore. These include Nova Sanctus , Port Terrene , and the Unknown Sector . You can travel to all these worlds by using the Bounty machine in your living room. You can travel or teleport to these worlds without progressing through a quest or bounty in High on Life.

High On Life: How To Use Warp Discs

These little trinkets offer access to some of High on Life's best side content. Here's how to find them, use them, and unlock an achievement.

High on Life uses a unique system of teleportation to unlock secret areas. These areas include puzzles, zany dialogue, and a lot of the game’s signature style of humor. But figuring out exactly how the system works isn’t always explicit in the gameplay.

Through one of the early story missions, the player will need to collect a warp disc that can essentially teleport–or warp–Krubis to Zephyr Paradise. The player will be directed to access the warp disc menu that then selects the available disc and swaps the mansion for Krubis’s base. The mission feels like an offshoot use of this mechanic, but several warp discs can be found elsewhere in game , and using them allows access to some of High on Life ’s best moments.

Where To Find Warp Discs

Warp discs can be found once the player has made some gaming progress. After completing 3 bounties and meeting Mayor Clugg, Gene will suggest that the player head to Blorto’s food vending station. At Blorto’s kiosk in the center of Blim City, Blorto will offer a secret menu that allows for the purchase of warp discs.

Unfortunately, it’s not quite as simple as just buying with pesos. These discs cost warp crystals which are purple, jagged rocks that power warp drives. These warp crystals can be found in some ludloxes, but primarily they’re found by enemy encounters . When members of the G3 warp in to attack the bounty hunter, their warp crystals can generally be found in a console-like contraption at the top of their base ports.

Where To Farm Crystals

There are a few areas where warp crystals can be found and farmed. The easiest is traveling to Zephyr Paradise Upper Valley. Just behind the portal, there is a base with a warp crystal sitting firmly in its socket. For some reason, the crystal is unable to be obtained though. Instead, head right from the portal exit to the warped-in highway. From the center of the highway, turn right to see a cave lit by some red lights.

Head through there, platform when necessary and kill the creepy critters inside. Exit the other side of the cave to see a large beam of blue light. This is a warp disc portal, and it is important to remember for later. For now, head back down to the base next to the portal. The warp crystal can now be obtained and added to inventory. To farm this glitch, simply return home through the portal and then right back to Upper Valley and repeat the method.

Blorto’s Warp Discs

Blorto is selling several warp discs. The player will need to obtain and use all of them to get the achievement for ‘Seeing All The Sights’.

How To Use A Warp Disc

Remember the blue beam of light found in the Upper Valley? The warp disc portal will allow access to the warp discs. Head to a warp disc portal. Once standing inside, interact to bring up the player’s disc menu. Activate the selected disc and the location will be warped to that point. This is the best way to experience some of the best content High on Life has to offer.

High on Life — Quick tips for new bounty hunters

If you’re playing  High on Life , then you may be wondering if any tips would be helpful. This isn’t a particularly complex game, but I think a few things might be worth keeping in mind when it comes to getting the most out of it.

Here are our High on Life quick tips and tricks

Get scanning.

Any chests will show up on your radar, so make sure and ping often with the ‘T key’ (or up on the D-pad). These can be pretty hard to get to on occasion, so seeing them show up like this could lead you to something you may not have found otherwise. There are over 220 chests, so they’ll pop up pretty much everywhere. You can see how many you’ve found by looking at locations on the Bounty5000, too.

Kenny’s always good

I know pistols usually stop being useful early on in most first-person shooters, but  High on Life  is different. Kenny is pretty much the best gun you have. He’s the only one you can count on at range, and he does enough damage that you can take out most enemies with headshots without too much trouble –even snipers. I’d prioritize spending money on his upgrades over the others.

Don’t run from conversations

There are a  ton  of conversations in  High on Life  that you won’t be able to hear the end of if you walk away while people are talking. While this might not matter in other FPS games, this is a comedy, so you’ll probably want to hear as many of the jokes as you can. Some of these gags are part of elaborate interactive scenarios and terminating them early can result in missing out on some truly funny stuff.

Grab those crystals

Warp crystals may not seem important. This is because they aren’t. But they  are  good for some great additional jokes. Whenever a large warp base shows up, there will be a warp crystal somewhere in it. Make sure and take these whenever you can, as there aren’t an absolute ton of them. You’ll be able to spend them at Bolto’s food stall, which is near your house in Blim, so go and trade them in every now and again. I especially recommend the movie theater and trolley warp discs, as the former has an entire movie in addition to audience members riffing on it the whole time.

You probably won’t be back

You can absolutely go out and explore in  High on Life , but getting back to your house from obscure locations without a waypoint is kind of daunting. Therefore, it’s better to try and take care of as much as possible while you’re in each area. This is especially important in regard to smaller shops with just a few items, as you may not ever find them again if you leave without purchasing their wares.

That’s all for our  High on Life  tips. You can play the game however you want, but some ways are undoubtedly funnier than others. And isn’t that what it’s all about? Unless you’re just here to shoot things, at which point I can’t really help you.

Three Members of High On Life Dead: A Tragedy For Millions

High On Life is one of the leading travel vlogs out there, but this week a tragic accident involving three members of the group has left millions shocked, stunned and devastated.

High On Life, or SundayzFundayz, were followed by millions and since their first viral video in 2011, How To Dance When You’re High On Life, they’ve dedicated their lives to inspiring people to embrace all of life’s opportunities with open arms, see everything the world has to offer, and to never stop smiling.

Though most of us have never had the pleasure of meeting them, I think it’s safe to say that anyone who’s watched their channel feels as though they’ve laughed with them, explored with them and without a doubt, been inspired by them.

But this week, on Tuesday 3rd July, three members of High On Life tragically died in a waterfall accident at Shannon Falls, British Columbia, Canada. Two core members of the group, Ryker Gamble and Alexey Lyakh, are reported to have died trying to save Lyakh’s girlfriend, Megan Scraper, after she fell into one of the pools. The three friends fell 30 meters and after a two day search and rescue mission, their bodies were found on Wednesday evening.

The nature of their death and the overwhelming response from their followers shows just the kind of people they were: adventurous, fearless and most importantly, selfless and kind hearted. The group were more than just friends, they were family; and they would all have done anything for each other.

The death of these three adventurers is an absolute tragedy that has millions in mourning, but as Ryker’s cousin posted ‘you are gone but not forgotten.’ Their messages of friendship and positivity have already brightened so many people’s lives and the vloggers will live on through their videos and continue to inspire the travel community.

Yesterday the other members of High On Life published a video about the incident, asking followers to respect families’ privacy. They also read out a heartfelt message, one of Ryker’s poems:

All you need to get travel-ready is your smartphone.

Take pictures and screenshots of the important items and documents before you leave for your trip.

• The photo page of your passport
• Your ID cards
• Any travel-related confirmations
• Location and contact details for the places you’re staying

Creating an album on your phone or marking the images as favorites will make it easier to find them should you need them. 

It couldn’t hurt to also share these pictures with a trusted loved one, like a significant other or close friend.

• Turn on Notify When Left Behind

Turn on Notify When Left Behind if you use Apple products.  

The feature, available on some iPhones, iPads, Macs, and AirPods, will notify you if you are separated from your items, like if you forget your AirPods in your hotel room. 

To turn Notify When Left Behind on or off, open the “Find My” app, select the device and then toggle the setting on or off.

Without a plan, those functions will only be available when the device is connected to Wi-Fi.

US defense secretary speaks with Israeli defense minister to discuss "urgent regional threats"

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant Saturday “to discuss urgent regional threats and reiterated unwavering U.S. support for Israel's defense,” according to a readout from Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder.

Austin reiterated “that Israel could count on full U.S. support to defend Israel against any attacks by Iran and its regional proxies,” Ryder said in the brief readout.

Both Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have spoken with Gallant in recent days as the US and Israel are on high alert for a potential retaliatory attack by Iran.

Biden will return to the White House Saturday to discuss situation in the Middle East

US President Joe Biden is returning to the White House Saturday from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, to “consult with his national security team about events in the Middle East,” according to the White House.

Countries advise against travel to Iran, Lebanon, Israel and Palestinian territories as flights suspended

Countries are warning citizens to avoid traveling to to Iran, Lebanon, Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories amid potential threats of ramped-up regional tensions stoked by Israel's war in Gaza.

France urged its citizens Friday to “absolutely refrain” from parts of the region. India, Germany, Canada and the United States issued or re-emphasized similar travel advisories to citizens.

Airlines suspend flights: Dutch carrier KLM announced Saturday that it would stop flying over Iran and Israel "as a precaution."

The carrier will continue to fly to and from Tel Aviv.

"KLM uses a safety management system to determine whether a flight to a specific destination can be operated safely. We are also in direct contact with the Dutch government and other governments. This analysis shows that we can still fly safely to and from Tel Aviv," KLM said in a statement.

Both Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa announced a suspension of flights to and from the Iranian capital of Tehran through April 18.

Israeli defense minister calls on public not to take law into own hands after Israeli teen's death

Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Saturday urged the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands after the body of a 14-year-old Israeli boy, Binyamin Achimair — who went missing Friday morning in the occupied West Bank — was found by Israeli security forces and police.

"I appeal to the public, let the security forces act quickly in the hunt for the terrorists - revenge actions will make it difficult for our fighters in their mission - the law must not be taken into one's hands," Gallant said in a post on X.

Earlier on Saturday, eyewitnesses told CNN that hundreds of Israeli settlers are surrounding Palestinian towns and attacking residents across the occupied West Bank.

European foreign ministers warn against escalation between Iran and Israel

European officials warned against further escalation between Israel and Iran on Saturday amid increasing tensions in the region.

David Cameron, the United Kingdom’s foreign secretary, wrote on X that he had spoken with Israeli war cabinet minister Benny Gantz. The two discussed their “shared concerns about Iranian threats to attack Israel,” Cameron wrote, adding that “further escalation in the region is in no-one's interest and risks further loss of civilian life.”

“The UK will continue to work with our partners in support of regional security,” Cameron said.

Norway’s Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide also posted to X , writing that he is “deeply troubled by reports on possible (attacks) against Israel” and that Norway calls “upon all parties to exercise restraint and avoid escalation.”

“Norway has condemned the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. It is imperative that (international) law is respected and all civilians protected,” Eide added.

Israeli prime minister calls death of 14-year-old Israeli boy an "abominable murder"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the death of a 14-year-old Israeli boy who went missing on Friday an “abominable murder.”

“The abominable murder of the boy Binyamin Achimair, may God avenge his blood, is a serious crime. I send my heartfelt condolences to his family,” the prime minister’s office said in a statement.

“(Israel Defense Forces) and Shin Bet forces are in an extensive pursuit of the despicable murderers and all those who cooperated with them,” it continued.

It is unclear what was the cause of death. The IDF said he was killed in a "terrorist attack" but has yet to provide evidence of that. CNN has reached out to the military. 

The prime minister said Israeli security forces are carrying out “intense operational and intelligence activity” in the area and in Palestinian villages, urging citizens of Israel to allow them to “do their work unhindered.”

Achimair's disappearance sparked a major manhunt and triggered Israeli settler attacks on a Palestinian village. Hundreds of armed Israeli settlers stormed the village of Al-Mughayyir in the occupied West Bank on Friday, setting fire to several homes and cars and killing at least one Palestinian man, according to Palestinian officials. 

Hundreds of Israeli settlers mobilize across Palestinian villages in the West Bank, eyewitnesses say

Hundreds of Israeli settlers are surrounding Palestinian towns and attacking residents across the occupied West Bank as of Saturday afternoon, eyewitnesses told CNN.

Videos obtained by CNN show settlers setting houses and cars ablaze in the village of Duma, southeast of Nablus. Footage shows heavy smoke engulfing the air as settlers fire gunshots in the area.

Eyewitnesses said settlers stormed people’s houses, resulting in clashes with Palestinians. In one video obtained by CNN from Duma, one man described the situation as a “street war.”

Videos on social media show clashes between Palestinians and settlers in the villages of Deir Dibwan and Beitin, east of Ramallah. Palestinians are seen lobbing rocks at the settlers, and Israeli military vehicles firing tear gas to disperse the crowds.

Videos obtained by CNN show increased Israeli military presence at a checkpoint near the town of Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said in a statement Saturday that over a dozen Palestinians arrived at hospitals across the West Bank, most wounded by gunfire.

The latest attacks by settlers come a day after a large-scale attack in the village of Al-Mughayyir east of Ramallah, leaving one Palestinian man dead, following the search for a 14-year-old Israeli boy who went missing in a settlement nearby. The Israel Defense Forces announced Saturday that the boy, Binyamin Achimair, is dead.

It is unclear yet what was the cause of death, and the IDF is yet to provide evidence that this was a “terrorist attack.” CNN has reached out for clarity.

Israel on "high alert" for Iranian aggression, military says

Israel is on “high alert” for “Iranian aggression,” Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Daniel Hagari said in a video statement released on Saturday. 

"Iran funds, trains and arms terror proxies across the Middle East and beyond,” Hagari said, claiming that the country is “world’s biggest state sponsor of terror.”

Hagari said that Iran will “bear the consequences for choosing to escalate the situation any further,” adding that Israel has increased its readiness against "further Iranian aggression; we are also prepared to respond."

In the early hours of Saturday morning, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy seized a cargo ship in a "helicopter operation near the Strait of Hormuz," according to Iranian state news agency IRNA.

Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Israel Katz said in a post on X that the cargo ship seized by Iran belongs “to an EU member,” calling on “the European Union and the free world to immediately declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guards corps as a terrorist organization and to sanction Iran now.”

Iran has vowed to retaliate against Israel for a deadly strike on its consulate in Syria. The United States currently expects Iran will carry out strikes against multiple targets inside Israel and that Iranian proxies could also be involved in carrying out the attacks, sources say, in what would mark a major escalation.

Portuguese government in contact with Iranian authorities over MSC Aries

Portugal is in contact with Iranian authorities after a Portuguese-flagged cargo ship was seized by Iran on Saturday morning, Portugal’s government told CNN.

According to the Portuguese government, the MSC Aries is "owned by the Zodiac Maritime Limited company," which it said is based in London.

"There is no record of Portuguese citizens on board, whether crew or command,” the statement said. The number of those on board has not been released.

Mediterranean Shipping Company confirmed the seizure, telling CNN there are 25 crew on board.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy seized the container ship in a "helicopter operation near the Strait of Hormuz," state news agency IRNA reported on Saturday, which added the vessel was being taken to Iranian waters.

Parents of Michigan School Shooter Sentenced to 10 to 15 Years in Prison

Jennifer and James Crumbley, whose son killed four people, each faced up to 15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter convictions.

Jennifer and James Crumbley, who were convicted of involuntary manslaughter for failing to prevent their teenage son from killing four fellow students in the deadliest school shooting in Michigan’s history, were each sentenced on Tuesday to 10 to 15 years in prison.

Their separate jury trials ended in guilty verdicts in February and March , making them the first parents in the country to be convicted over the deaths caused by their child in a mass shooting.

Involuntary manslaughter charges carry a penalty in Michigan of up to 15 years in prison, and prosecutors asked in sentencing memos filed to the court last week that the Crumbleys each serve at least 10 years. Both have been in jail for more than two years while awaiting trial and will receive credit for time served.

“Parents are not expected to be psychic,” Judge Cheryl Matthews of the Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac, Mich., said before issuing the sentence. “But these convictions are not about poor parenting. These convictions confirm repeated acts or lack of acts that could have halted an oncoming runaway train — repeatedly ignoring things that would make a reasonable person feel the hair on the back of her neck stand up.”

Before the hearing, prosecutors said that Ms. Crumbley, 46, was asking to be sentenced to house arrest on her defense lawyer’s property, rather than serving prison time. And Mr. Crumbley, 47, said that he had been wrongly convicted and his sentence should amount to the time he had already served in prison, adding that he felt “absolutely horrible” about what had happened.

On Tuesday, each of them spoke in the hearing before the judge pronounced sentence.

“I stand today not to ask for your forgiveness, as I know it may be beyond reach, but to express my sincerest apologies for the pain that has been caused,” Ms. Crumbley said in court, addressing the relatives of students who were killed.

Mr. Crumbley also apologized. “I cannot express how much I wish that I had known what was going on with him or what was going to happen, because I absolutely would have done a lot of things differently,” he said.

Relatives of some of the victims also spoke during the hearing, describing the overwhelming effects the shooting had on their lives.

“The ripple effects of both James’s and Jennifer’s failures to act have devastated us all,” said Jill Soave, the mother of Justin Shilling, 17, who was killed in the shooting at Oxford High School on Nov. 30, 2021. “This tragedy was completely preventable. If only they had done something, your honor, anything, to shift the course events on Nov. 30, then our four angels would be here today.”

Steve St. Juliana, whose daughter, Hana, 14, was killed, said that the Crumbleys continued to fail to take responsibility for what had happened.

“They chose to stay quiet,” he said. “They chose to ignore the warning signs. And now, as we’ve heard through all of the objections, they continue to choose to blame everyone but themselves.”

The Crumbleys’ son, Ethan, was 15 when he carried out the shooting that killed Justin and Hana, as well as Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and Tate Myre, 16. Seven others were injured. Ethan Crumbley pleaded guilty to 24 charges, including first-degree murder, and was sentenced last year to life in prison without parole . He is still eligible to appeal that decision. His parents may appeal, too.

In the trials of both parents, prosecutors focused in part on their failure to remove their son from school after he made a violent drawing on the morning of the shooting. It included a written plea for help.

They also emphasized Ethan’s access to a handgun that Mr. Crumbley had purchased. And they said that Ms. Crumbley had missed signs that her son was struggling with his mental health, adding that she took him to a gun range just days before the shooting.

Defense lawyers for both parents said they could not have foreseen the unspeakable violence their son would commit.

Ms. Crumbley grew up in Clarkston, a Detroit suburb about 20 minutes from Oxford, her lawyer said during a hearing after the couple’s arrest in 2021 . Before her arrest, she had worked as a marketing director, her lawyer said.

Mr. Crumbley’s job history included work at a handful of small software and technology companies.

The couple once lived in Florida but returned to Michigan several years ago, their lawyers said. They bought their home near downtown Oxford in 2015.

The trials of Jennifer and James Crumbley became a lightning rod for issues of parental responsibility at a time of high-profile gun violence by minors. In recent months, parents in other states have pleaded guilty to charges of reckless conduct or neglect after their children injured or killed others with guns.

But the manslaughter charges against the Crumbleys were unique, and legal experts said their trials could serve as a playbook for other prosecutors who seek to hold parents accountable in the future.

Ekow Yankah, a professor at the University of Michigan Law School, said the effect of the ruling on Tuesday might be felt beyond the state.

“This is going to be precedent, most obviously in Michigan and its home jurisdiction, but prosecutors all over the country will see this as a new and viable form of liability,” Mr. Yankah said. “I think we should not underestimate the precedential power of this case, even as we recognize that the facts were quite extraordinary.”

For Matthew Schneider, a former United States attorney in Michigan, what makes this case so different from many others is that most criminal sentences are related to the actions of a defendant, rather than being “about inactions, and how the inactions of a person result in a criminal sentence.”

The sentencing is “very much about making an example of the defendants,” Mr. Schneider said. “This is a shot across the bow to all parents, to all people who have firearms in their house, to keep them locked up, if they could be in the hands of the wrong people.”

Here’s a rundown of four facts we discovered about the Autograph Journey that you should know when deciding whether to apply.

1. You can transfer points with Wells Fargo point-based cards

The launch of the Autograph Journey also marks the first transferable points program from Wells Fargo, which joins other card issuers like Chase and Capital One, which have their own pooling programs .

Autograph Journey will be able to do a points transfer with the no-annual-fee Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card . This is especially notable since the Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card offers bonus rewards in different categories than the Autograph Journey. 

For example, the Autograph card earns unlimited 3x points on restaurants, travel, gas stations, transit, popular streaming services and phone plans, plus 1x points on other purchases. So you can maximize your point earning across different categories, then transfer your points to your Autograph Journey account to access premium travel redemptions.

2. It offers more options for earning bonus miles on travel than some competitors

The Autograph Journey will offer more flexibility than many travel rewards cards when it comes to earning more points on travel purchases. For example, cardholders earn unlimited 5x points on hotels booked directly with hotel brands and 4x points on airfare booked with airlines. 

This helps the card stand out from other popular travel credit cards that offer the most bonus points only if you book travel through their portals. For example, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card * and the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card * only offer the highest bonus rewards on travel booked through Capital One Travel. The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card also offers its highest rate of 5x points on travel booked through Chase Travel℠, whereas other travel purchases earn 2x points.

Autograph Journey cardholders also earn a minimum of 3x points on other travel purchases, which could include rental cars, cruises and travel booked through online travel agencies like Expedia and Priceline.

3. The card may grow in value as more transfer partners join

The Autograph Journey Card will earn flexible travel rewards points that transfer to a selection of airline and hotel partners, similar to Amex Membership Rewards points or Chase Ultimate Rewards . While the list of transfer partners is limited, Wells Fargo stated in its initial press release that “more partners will continue to be added throughout the year.”

Points transfers could dramatically change the value proposition of the Autograph Journey, especially if new partners include domestic airlines and popular hotel loyalty programs.
