Watch: Lioness Jumps Into A Safari Vehicle, Here's What Happens Next

A video showing a lioness jumping inside a safari vehicle has amassed 5.6 million views.

A lot of videos of the 'King of the Jungle' are shared on social media. Many of them show risk-takers cuddling the animal and garner a lot of attention. However, the act doesn't always go well for them. But in a recent viral video, a lioness is seen jumping into a tourist vehicle and showing love to the visitors at a safari.

Rather than getting scared, tourists are seen petting the wild cat. The animal tries to reach all the tourists present in the vehicle and is caressed by most. Although lionesses are the primary hunters in a lion pack, the animal did not cause harm to anyone in the vehicle.

It seems that the video was shot by one of the tourists.

Watch: 'massive' lion forces standoff with safari vehicle, share this article.

When you’re on a photo safari in South Africa’s Kruger National Park, you pass the king of beasts on his terms.

The accompanying footage, featured Friday by Wildest Kruger Sightings , shows a ‘massive’ male lion in a dramatic standoff with a safari vehicle.

The driver attempts to pass as the lion has his back to the vehicle, facing a lioness napping on the road’s edge.

But in a swift about-face, issuing a roar of disapproval, the lion forces a standoff that lasts several seconds before the lion determines the threat has passed.

The passengers, only feet away, undoubtedly captured incredible images before the lion turned away.

In another dramatic display this past week in Kruger, a smaller male lion found itself facing down several angry hippos after becoming stranded on a rock in a river.

The lion leaped and began to swim when the closest hippo lunged with its enormous mouth agape. Another hippo went after the lion, but the lion was too quick.

Lion climbs into tourist safari vehicle in Crimea

Lions in Crimea get very friendly on safari

Updated Sept. 6, 2018, 1:09 p.m. | By The Workzone with Barney Simon

A small group on a drive through Taigan Safari Park in Crimea ended up with some friendly lions right in their laps.

lions in crimea

Everyone who goes on a game drive or visits a sanctuary hopes to get close enough to wild animals to at least take a picture. After guides give instructions and warnings about getting too close to or attempting to touch animals such as elephants, leopards or lions, no one would expect to get so much as a handshake from the animals.  ALSO READ:  Angry buffalo rams into safari vehicle A group of animal lovers on a visit to the Taigan Safari Park in Crimea got this and much more when a lion jumped into their vehicle and looked as if it wanted to sit on the people's laps.

The lion jumps up into the seats and,  instead of lashing out at the passengers , was "playful", appearing only to "want some attention from the adoring tourists".

The lion cuddles with one of the passengers and licks the face of another.

The owner of Taigan Safari Park, Oleg Zubkov, often lets visitors to the park get very close to the lions. Oleg "has a remarkable record and insists that tourists are safe if they follow his advice".

He stays close by to make sure that no one is hurt, though f course he can't guarantee that all lions will be as friendly as this one was.

Lion attack on safari truck inspires warning: ‘Respect the locals’

A South Africa-based tour company has shared footage showing a lion biting a safari vehicle and growling as an emphatic warning for the intruders to back off.

Lucien Beaumont of Beaumont Adventures used the footage to remind anyone planning a safari to respect wild critters at all times.

“ALWAYS RESPECT THE LOCALS,” Beaumont exclaimed on Instagram . “Whilst on safari, always remember that the animals are not there for our viewing pleasure
we are merely visitors in their home environment!”

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lucien Beaumont (@lucienbeaumont)

In the footage the backs slowly away while the lion, still agitated, turns its back and glances over its shoulder as if to see if its warning was heeded.

Reads a top comment: “Well said. This lion’s reaction needs to be shared. He is the boss and needs full respect. Too often one sees humans take advantage of their safety within their vehicle.”

The footage was shared via X by Lion Lovers, a page dedicated to lions in Africa, which stated: “Totally agree! Their home, their space, respect it!”

Terrifying moment elephant charges at tourists as safari truck driver suddenly stops

The elephant attacked a safari truck at Kafue National Park in Zambia on Saturday

An elephant charged at an African safari truck with tourists in Zambia and flipped the vehicle, killing an elderly American woman.

The harrowing moment was captured on 45-second video by an individual on the truck at Kafue National Park. A lone five-ton bull elephant can be seen in the distance running towards the vehicle.

‘Oh my goodness,’ a woman is heard saying.

‘Uh oh, coming fast,’ a man remarks.

Sorry, this video isn't available any more.

As the elephant continues to rush through the trees and bush, the driver abruptly stops the vehicle.

‘Hey! Hey! Hey!’ someone can be heard yelling.

The elephant uses its trunk and in one swing flips the vehicle. The recording shows a chaotic scene in the tumble.

An 80-year-old woman on the Wilderness Zambia tour died from the attack, Keith Vincent, CEO of the organizing group, told the Daily Mail . She was not immediately identified.

The video showed the bull elephant pursuing the safari vehicle

Five other guests were on the tour, and one was seriously injured and four sustained minor injuries. The seriously injured victim was airlifted to a private medical facility in South Africa . All the guests were reportedly staying at the Lufupa River Camp.

The game drive was ‘unexpectedly chaired by the bull elephant’ around 9.30am on Saturday, stated Vincent.

‘Our guides are all extremely well-trained and experienced, but sadly in this instance the terrain and vegetation was such that the guide’s route became blocked and he could not move the vehicle out of harm’s way quickly enough.’

Vincent added that management at the national park, which is the second largest safari location in the world, offered immediate assistance.

An American tourist died as the safari vehicle was flipped

’This is an extremely tragic event and we extend our deepest condolences to the family of the guest who died,’ Vincent stated.

‘We are also, naturally supporting those guests and the guide involved in this distressing incident. The deceased will be repatriated to the USA.’

The elderly woman died more than eight years after an American woman in her 30s was mauled to death while recording a lion at the Gauteng safari park in South Africa.
