THE TOUR REPRESENTS THE CULMINATION OF A 25-YEAR BROTHERHOOD

Summertime 2023 will cross the u.s. hitting outdoor amphitheaters & select festivals along with special guests atmosphere and the movement artist presale on tuesday, march 7 at 10am local time local presale on thursday, march 9 at 10am local time public on-sale friday, march 10 at 10am local time.

San Diego, CA-based  Slightly Stoopid  and Sublime With Rome  announced today the first round of dates for their  Summertime 2023  tour. Produced by Live Nation, the tour will hit outdoor amphitheaters and select festivals across the country.  Joining Slightly Stoopid and Sublime With Rome are special guests Atmosphere and The Movement.   The historical significance of this package is extraordinary as Slightly Stoopid joins forces with Sublime With Rome on tour for the first time ever. It all traces back to legend Bradley Nowell (Sublime’s original frontman)  and Sublime’s early influence on the career of Slightly Stoopid. After initially hearing Miles and Kyle practicing while they were teenagers, Nowell signed them to his indie label imprint Skunk Records while the band members were still in high school.  Nowell later produced and released their debut studio album Slightly $toopid in 1996 on Skunk, and appeared on the hidden track “Prophet,” now a staple in the Slightly Stoopid live repertoire nearly 25 years after its original recording. Together these groups became the forerunners of a genre of music and lifestyle movement that will be reflected through the deep catalogs of songs about to be performed across the country.   “We couldn’t be more excited for the Summertime 2023 tour,” says Miles Doughty. “We haven’t toured with Sublime since the early years of Stoopid and we are really excited to be back with our brothers on what we like to call the ultimate summer band camp. We’re stoked to debut some new songs and play new venues and cities we haven’t hit for a while. And most importantly we can’t wait to be playing music for all of you this summer
between the on-stage collabs and the backstage hangs it’s gonna be insane! The Stoopidheads are what fuels Slightly Stoopid. Should be an epic summer of madness!!!”   Fans gain first access to the artist presale beginning Tuesday, March  7 at 10 AM local time, where a very limited amount of “early bird” tickets will be available in each market for $30. Tickets will be available at SlightlyStoopid.com/tour. Local presales will start on Thursday, March 9 at 10 AM local time, and the general on-sale will then take place on Friday, March 10 at 10 AM local time.   Pioneering hip-hop duo Atmosphere joins the Summertime 2023 tour, marking this the first tour with Slightly Stoopid in 10 years. Slug of Atmosphere adds, “We are absolutely excited to have this opportunity to go on tour with Slightly Stoopid, Sublime with Rome, and The Movement. Do not miss your opportunity to come make party with us.” The news comes on the heels of their new single “Okay,” off their forthcoming album So Many Other Realities Exist Simultaneously (out May 5th via Rhymesayers Entertainment).   The Summertime 2023 tour kicks off in Auburn, WA on July 6. It routes the beloved So-Cal bands throughout North America with stops at legendary venues such as Shoreline Amphitheatre, Walnut Creek, Jones Beach, and PNC Arts Center, ending in West Palm Beach, FL at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre on September 3. All dates can be found below with more to be added.

(photo credit: Sanjay Suchak)   Since 1995, Slightly Stoopid continues to be a musical brotherhood. Founded by Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald, two musicians determined to succeed on their own terms, the pair of long-time childhood friends, has created a multi-genre fusion of rock, reggae, and blues with hip-hop, funk, American folk, metal, and punk. They remain unwavering in their principles of independence, honoring their diversity of influences and mentors, and furthering their inherited legacy of the Southern California sound. Slightly Stoopid has built a sweeping legacy for itself, continuously expanding in diversity and repertoire. Warriors of the road, their touring has grown exponentially both domestically and internationally with sold-out headlining dates across the world, and festival appearances at famed events such as Coachella, Lollapalooza, New Orleans Jazz Fest, ACL, Outside Lands, and Cali Vibes amongst countless others.   Twenty-five years into the journey, the prolific collective has much to celebrate; the band founded their own record label, Stoopid Records (over one mil catalog sales and two RIAA-certified Gold singles), created and curate their annual sold-out Closer to the Sun destination music festival in Mexico, launched a line of unique, high-quality cannabis products under the guise of ‘Stoopid Strains’, and recently launched their “Tangie Summer Haze” lager, a new beer collaboration with Buzz Rock Breweries in Southern California, while continuing to explore (and master) the art of musical collaboration with an array of artists including Bob Weir, Cypress Hill, Chali2na, Barrington Levy, Don Carlos, G. Love, Stephen Marley, Snoop Dogg, and more.   Sublime With Rome, the ska alternative rock group from California, was formed in 2010 by Rome Ramirez and Eric Wilson. With fan-favorite hits such as “Wrong Way,” “Santeria,” “Badfish,” “What I Got,” “Caress Me Down,” “40oz to Freedom,” and many more, the band’s concerts are pure sing-along enjoyment from beginning to end. The band released its debut album, Yours Truly, on July 12, 2011, and broke the top ten on the Billboard 200. The band previously toured in support of their hit 2019 album Blessings with singles “Wicked Heart” and “Light On” making a splash at alternative radio. Blessings is the band’s third studio album, and it was helmed by Rob Cavallo, the producer behind Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park, and more. Sublime with Rome’s loyal audience can anticipate a new album coming in 2023 as they will return to Sonic Ranch to record their fourth studio album.   Slightly Stoopid and Sublime With Rome Summer Traditions 2023 Tour Dates: Jul 06 – Auburn, WA – White River Amphitheatre  Jul 07 – Bend, OR – Hayden Homes Amphitheater Jul 08 – Nampa, ID – Ford Idaho Center Jul 09 – West Valley City, UT – USANA Amphitheatre Jul 14 – Mountain View, CA – Shoreline Amphitheatre Jul 15 – Irvine, CA – FivePoint Amphitheatre # Jul 16 – San Diego, CA – Petco Park Jul 21 – The Woodlands, TX – The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion Jul 22 – Austin, TX – Germania Insurance Amphitheater Jul 23 – Irving, TX – The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory Jul 27 – Somerset, WI – Somerset Amphitheater Jul 28 – Chicago, IL – Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island Jul 29 – Sterling Heights, MI – Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill Jul 30 – Indianapolis, IN – TCU Amphitheater at White River State Park Aug 03 – North Charleston, SC – North Charleston Coliseum Aug 04 – Virginia Beach, VA – Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater Aug 05 – Raleigh, NC – Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek Aug 06 – Wilmington, NC – Live Oak Bank Pavilion Aug 17 – Holmdel, NJ – PNC Bank Arts Center Aug 18 – Columbia, MD – Merriweather Post Pavilion Aug 19 – Pittsburgh, PA – Forbes Avenue * Aug 20 – Camden, NJ – Freedom Mortgage Pavilion Aug 24 – Gilford, NH – Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion Aug 25 – Mansfield, MA – Xfinity Center Aug 26 – Wantagh, NY – Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater Sep 01 – Jacksonville, FL – Daily’s Place Sep 03 – West Palm Beach, FL – iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre   All shows with Special Guests Atmosphere and The Movement except where noted.

Slightly Stoopid

San Diego-based Slightly Stoopid have announced the first round of dates for their Summer Traditions 2022 tour — a nod to the summer outdoor amphitheater circuit the band has performed annually since 2007, but hasn’t taken place for the last two years due to the pandemic. The tour includes a hometown performance Sept. 3 inside the San Diego Padres’ Petco Park.

Summer Traditions was originally intended as the 2020 tour package, but later canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Slightly Stoopid has committed to deliver the same line-up and same experience at many of the same venues in 2022. In an abbreviated 2021, Slightly Stoopid performed a handful of shows including Petco Park in their hometown San Diego, and a landmark two-night sold-out Red Rocks “Double On The Rocks” weekend, which also streamed worldwide on FANS and Relix’s Twitch channel to over 3 million viewers. Summer Traditions 2022 is aimed to celebrate the band’s annual rite of passage for the group’s diehard fanbase known as “Stoopidheads,” as they travel the states, sharing good times with one another through music and community, as they have done since the band’s inception 25 years ago.

“We’re super pumped to hit the road this summer and finally bring the Summer Traditions Tour around the country!! Always a blessing to share the stage with our good friends Pepper, Common Kings, and Fortunate Youth,” the band’s Miles Doughty says. “We’re looking forward to some epic collaborations on stage and are stoked to keep our summertime tradition going! See you soon Party People!”

Slightly Stoopid is currently riding high on their latest single “Everyday People (Headhunter remix)” featuring hip-hop legend B-Real of Cypress Hill , and long-time collaborator and friend G. Love from G. Love & Special Sauce. The track was produced by Miguel Happoldt and George Spits. The foundation of the remix is built upon a drum sample from Herbie Hancock ’s Headhunters’ 1975 anthem, “God Make Me Funky,” lending a brilliant jazz fusion and funk vibe to the track.

Soooo, I got introduced to Stoopid in Park City....... these guys are legit and so much fun to see. I was blessed to see them at the Canyons Ski Resort after making turns all day, also...... Skull Candy did their Xmas party at Maxwell’s.... of course I was there helping Mr Maxwell launching his new restaurant..... super fun since they played in front of what? 100 people ish? There were some fun VIPS I won’t mention, lol...Stoopid was very personable and killed it. Then I moved to Texas..... Stubbs, Austin, TX,White Oak, Houston..... these guys are great!!!!!! And now they branch out with Berres Hammond...( maybe I butchered that) but they keep giving respect to the old school Reggae. I feel these guys launched the Stick Figure, The Movement, Tribal Seeds, Rebulation, Fortunate Youth, there are so many other greats playing this music now...... I don’t know about everybody else..... but it’s such a feeling of peace and chillness and happy vibe listening to all these bands. Much respect to the Marleys, Burning Spear, Steel Pulse, Israel Vibrations, Black Uhuru...... I think you get my vibe..... if Stoopid reads this..... hit me up at Riondos.com next time your in Houston.

I’d love to pay you back for influencing my life on the positive. Safe travels to you all........

Another awesome reggae show at the Cocoa Amphitheater! Pepper, Stick Figure and Slightly Stoopid was an awesome lineup. All three acts were great. All three bands featured their old hits and new songs. Members of each band made appearances with the other bands throughout the night which made it quite special. The crowd was great, with everyone sharing in the music and vibe. One thing to remember about this venue is that the July/August concerts are quite hot so drink plenty of water!!

Can't wait to see more bands in Cocoa!!

Slightly Stoopid And Dirty Heads Announce ‘Slightly Dirty Summer Tour’

slightly stoopid tour bands

Today, Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads announced their 2024 Slightly Dirty Summer Tour across the U.S. The 23-date run kicks off on Thursday, July 11 in Cleveland, OH at Jacobs Pavilion, with stops in Bridgeport, CT, Virginia Beach, VA, West Palm Beach, FL, San Diego, CA, and more before wrapping up on Saturday, August 25 in Phoenix, AZ at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. Special guests Common Kings will join on select dates and The Elovaters will join across all dates on the tour.

The announcement follows Slightly Stoopid’s successful ‘Summertime 2023’ tour with Sublime with Rome, which saw the two bands hit 25+ amphitheaters across the U.S. last year.

Speaking on the upcoming tour, Slightly Stoopid’s Miles Doughty says “Slightly Dirty Summer 2024 is gonna be nuts! It’s been a minute since we did a full summer tour with our brothers the Dirty Heads and we are excited to get this party started. Joining us in the madness will be our boys Common Kings and The Elovaters taking the vibes to a new level! Looking forward to playing some new songs all summer while hitting new venues and some cities we have never played!”

“So happy to be back out on the road with our boys! Every time we get together it’s nothing but good times and I expect nothing less this summer!” says Dirty Heads’ Duddy B.

Slightly Stoopid and Dirty Heads are proud to partner with Maui Food Bank so that $1 from every ticket sold will help support Maui relief.

Since 1994, Slightly Stoopid has continued to be a musical brotherhood.

Thirty years into the journey, the prolific collective has much to celebrate; the band founded their own record label, Stoopid Records, garnering the platinum single “Closer To The Sun,”, and gold singles “2am” and “Collie Man,” and over one million physical catalog sales. They have worked with an array of collaborators and guest artists including Snoop Dogg, Bob Weir, Stephen Marley, Cypress Hill, G-Love, Barrington Levy, Chali2na, Karl Denson (Rolling Stones), Don Carlos (Black Uhuru) & Rashawn Ross (Dave Matthews Band). The entrepreneurial spirited band also created and continue to curate their annual sold-out Closer to the Sun destination music festival in Mexico (2024 will mark its 10th year), and have launched a line of unique, high-quality cannabis products under the guise of ‘Stoopid Strains’, along with their “Tangie Summer Haze” lager, a beer collaboration with Buzz Rock Breweries in Southern California.

Since 2001, Dirty Heads have mixed hip-hop, reggae, and rock to create a unique sound that fully embodies their Southern California roots and resonates with audiences around the globe.

Dirty Heads are currently out-streaming some of the biggest alternative acts in the U.S., with over 1.31 MILLION digital track sales and 2.7 BILLION on-demand streams since 2018. Dirty Heads also have over 2.4 million unique monthly listeners on Spotify.

The band’s global appeal reached new heights in 2021, when their hit “Vacation” (originally released in 2017) garnered over six billion views and streams across social media via the ubiquitous #VacationTransition challenge that originated organically with users on TikTok.

The group formed when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (aka Duddy B) asked his friend, rapper Jared Watson (aka Dirty J), to collaborate on a project that would focus on positive vibes and infectious grooves. Watson added singing to his vocal skills, and later with percussionist Jon Olazabal, drummer Matt Ochoa, and bassist Dave Foral, Dirty Heads began building an immense audience.

In 2008, Dirty Heads released their acclaimed album Any Port in a Storm, with a deluxe edition following in 2010. The deluxe version featured the track “Lay Me Down” with special guest Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome. The song reached number one on Billboard’s Alternative Songs in May 2010, and nine weeks later it established a record as the song with the longest stint atop the chart for an independently released title.

They followed up two years later with Cabin by the Sea and later recorded an acoustic version of the title track. This, in turn, led to an entire acoustic album in 2013 called Home: Phantoms of Summer. Dirty Heads’ next album, Sound of Change, would prove to be a breakthrough for the now-veteran band, debuting at number eight on the Billboard Top 200 while topping the Independent and Alternative Albums charts upon its May 2014 release.

Building on their renewed success, Dirty Heads enlisted a bevy of industry hitmakers to work on their self-titled 2016 follow-up, which — thanks to its mainstream appeal — again charted high on the Billboard Top 200. The following year saw the band drop its sixth studio album, Swim Team, featuring the singles “Vacation,” in its original form, and “Staloney.”

Inspired by current events and the fan interpretations of their music in the #VacationTransition challenge, the band went into the studio to work on new music. In 2021 Dirty Heads released The Best Of Dirty Heads compilation, which included a new collaboration with Travis Barker and Aimee Interrupter of The Interrupters. The band also released their highly anticipated 8th studio album Midnight Control in August 2022 which featured 10 all-new songs including their take on Joe Walsh’s 1978 hit “Life’s Been Good.”

In 2023 Dirty Heads released the digital deluxe version of their album Midnight Control, featuring 23 tracks including acoustic versions of hit songs “Rescue Me,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Island Glow,” Lo-Fi versions of 3 album tracks, 3 unreleased songs and more in addition to all 10 tracks from the original album. Featured artists include Monsieur PerinĂ©, Ivy Miller (Ivuss) and Alex Vince.

This summer, Dirty Heads performed their Top 5 hits “Life’s Been Good” and “Rescue Me” on the Today Show. Before the performance, Hosts Hoda & Jenna presented the band with a RIAA platinum plaque for their hit “Vacation,” acknowledging sales of more than 1 million digital downloads since its release BY BETTER NOISE MUSIC. The Meaning Behind The Song: Officer by Slightly Stoopid

As a fan of reggae and punk rock, Slightly Stoopid has always been one of my favorite bands. Their unique blend of genres creates a sound that is both upbeat and laid-back, and their lyrics always resonate with me. One song in particular, “Officer,” holds a special place in my heart. Let’s dive deeper into the meaning behind this catchy tune.

Table of Contents

Personal Connection

In conclusion.

The song starts with lyrics that paint a vivid picture of a Saturday night gathering. Miles and Kyle, the lead singers of Slightly Stoopid, describe a party that is abruptly interrupted by the arrival of a police officer. The officer confronts them about their illegal activities and demands to see their stash. The chorus goes on to express their frustration with the officer’s authority and how it always seems to come back to them. They decide to keep the party going despite the interference, urging everyone to sing along and have a good time.

Now, let’s break down the verses. In the first verse, Miles and Kyle cleverly address the issue of police harassment. They highlight the hypocrisy of being charged for possessing something that is not even theirs. This highlights the unfair targeting and discrimination faced by many individuals in communities that are heavily policed. The chorus then expresses their defiance and determination to keep the party alive, no matter the circumstances.

In the second verse, Miles and Kyle continue to challenge the officer’s actions. They use the term “roadblock” to refer to being stopped by the police, emphasizing their frustration with being targeted. They assert their innocence and question the officer’s motives, trying to reason with him in a sarcastic but slightly humorous manner. The verse ends with the acknowledgement that they come from a different background, implying that their experiences may differ from that of the officer.

Whenever I listen to “Officer,” I am transported back to my teenage years. The rebellious spirit and defiant lyrics resonated with my own feelings of frustration towards authority. This song became an anthem for me and my friends, representing our desire to have fun and push back against societal rules and expectations.

I remember the first time I heard “Officer” at a backyard party. The atmosphere was electric, and everyone began singing along to the catchy chorus. It was a moment of unity and rebellion, a testament to the power of music in bringing people together. To this day, whenever I hear this song, I can’t help but smile and be transported back to that unforgettable night.

Despite the lightheartedness of the song, it also serves as a reminder of the systemic issues that many communities face. It sheds light on the realities of police harassment and discrimination. Slightly Stoopid’s lyrics urge listeners to question authority, challenge unfair treatment, and find their own means of resistance, even if it’s as simple as throwing a party.

“Officer” by Slightly Stoopid is more than just a catchy tune. It serves as a call to action, urging listeners to question authority and stand up against unfair treatment. The song speaks to the issues of police harassment and discrimination faced by many individuals and communities. It holds a special place in my heart as a reminder of the power of music to unite people and challenge the status quo.

Whether you relate to the lyrics on a personal level or simply enjoy the infectious rhythm, “Officer” is a song that is sure to get you moving and thinking at the same time. So crank up the volume, let loose, and join Slightly Stoopid in their mission to keep the party going.

Sublime With Rome and Slightly Stoopid Announce Summertime 2023 Tour

The tour will hit outdoor amphitheaters and select festivals across the country along with special guests Atmosphere and The Movement

slightly stoopid tour bands

Should be an epic summer of madness!!!”

Fans gain first access to the artist presale beginning Tuesday, March 7 at 10 AM local time, where a very limited amount of “early bird” tickets will be available in each market for $30. Tickets will be available at SlightlyStoopid.com/tour .

Since 1995, Slightly Stoopid continues to be a musical brotherhood.
