Your trip starts with a scenic trip through the Destin Harbor to the Gulf Islands National Seashore, where you will enjoy the tropical scenery and music as you sightsee along the way. The adventure begins when you arrive at the floating Adventure Park, where you will find a plethora of water toys awaiting you.

Explore the natural grass flats on a kayak, glide across the water’s surface on a stand-up paddle board, walk the shoreline looking for seashells, zip across the water on a banana boat ride and enjoy breathtaking views of all of the natural underwater beauty and marine life that the Choctawhatchee Bay has to offer while snorkeling the shoreline.

Adventure Tour Cancellation Policy:

Guests may cancel at least 48 hours prior to their arrival date and time to receive a full refund minus a 3% cancellation fee. Guests who cancel after the 48 hour period will not be eligible for a refund. If management determines that the weather is unsuitable for water activities, the Crab Island Adventure Tour may be rescheduled for a later time/date or a full refund will be issued. Guest may make changes to the reservation without any fees as long as it’s outside the 48 hour cancellation period. No-shows will not be refunded. Please plan to arrive 30-45 minutes early to park and check in, so that you do not miss the boat. The boat will depart on schedule.

Our boats are filling up fast book now, hang out at destin’s famous crab island.

We are thrilled to offer our guests a “family friendly” – Crab Island Adventure, with captain and crew! You’ll go by boat (about a 5 minute ride) to one of our area’s most popular destinations where you can kick back and enjoy our three hour trip without the hassle of renting your own boat! While Crab Island’s name is slightly misleading, it is not an actual island, it’s nothing more than a raised sandbar where hundreds of boats gather during the warmer months to enjoy the shallow emerald green waters and mobile food boats and floating restaurants – providing everything from ice cream, BBQ, to coconuts!

We at Destin Snorkel pride ourselves on our family friendly culture and environment and expect the same from our guests but acknowledge that at times, other Crab Island visitors may not maintain the same behavior.

Activities you can enjoy while at Crab Island:

• Relaxing on our boat while soaking up some sun
• Paddling around the sandbar by kayak or paddleboard**
• Joining in a game of water volleyball
• Sampling local fare from a floating restaurant or mobile food boat
• Watching for dolphins and other marine life
• Tossing a football or frisbee in the water
• Making new friends & people watching!

**Please note – items are available for purchase or rent from the floating General Store. Also, we cannot guarantee what food vendors will be out on any given day. 

What to bring:

Bottled water is provided for our guests and while we do not serve alcohol you are welcome to bring your own, as long as it isn’t in glass containers (there is no alcohol sold at Crab Island so BYOB). Have on your bathing suit, bring sunscreen lotion (spray on sunscreen is not allowed to be used on the boat), beach towel, camera, and you’re more than welcome to bring food and snacks. Ice chests are allowed but please be mindful of space consumption, as it must fit under your seat.

What is Snorkeling?

If you are brand new to this adventure, snorkeling is the act of swimming through water with a breathing tube. You will wear a mask so that you can see underwater, but no other equipment will be needed for you to see all there is to see in the beautiful waters of the Gulf, here in Destin.

What Do I Need to Start Snorkeling?

Equipment : Well, you do not need much to start snorkeling, that is for sure. However, the equipment you do need should be quality, and something you can trust. At Flipper’s Adventures, we show you all you need to take with you when you head out for the waters.

You will want a mask, a breathing tube, and some swim fins. Be sure to find a mask that is comfortable for you and test it to ensure it does not leak. Keep adjusting things until the mask feels just right on your face. The mask and straps should seal around your eyes and nose so no water should come into the mask at all.

Dip into the Water : Once you are all set with equipment, it is time to go into the water. For our Destin snorkel adventures, you will be laying down flat on your stomach in the water. Place your mask and breathing tube area at a 45-degree angle. Bite down gently on the mouthpiece and let your lips seal around it.

Start Breathing Easy : Breathe slowly and deeply. Be careful of what you are doing. There is no need to panic, you can always lift your head out of the water if necessary. You are right there on the surface of the water. You will inevitably have water go in the snorkel over time, just be sure not to inhale the water. Clear the tube by exhaling forcefully.

Directions: We are located on the South side of US Hwy 98 on  Destin Harbor across from Taco Bell at 500 Harbor Blvd.

From EAST of Destin (Sandestin, Panama City) From Destin Commons (Bass Pro Shops), drive 4 miles on Hwy 98 West. We have onsite parking at our location. Upon arriving head to the ticket booth.

From WEST of Destin (Ft Walton Beach, Pensacola) Take Hwy 98 East to Destin over the Destin Bridge. 1/2 mile after the bridge, turn right into our parking lot.

CANCELLATION POLICY:   You must CALL at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled trip time to change, reschedule, or cancel your reservation . If you don’t call or don’t make your reservation time,  tickets will not be rescheduled or refunded. There will be a $10 cancellation fee.

Are the captains Certified?

Yes! Our captains are US Coast Guard licensed  Masters, and  both Captain and Crew are specifically trained in all aspects of swimming, snorkel, boat handling with First Aid & CPR!

Are there any age restrictions?

We ask that kids be 4 years old or older for Fireworks Tour.

What should I wear?

Swimming suits and have plenty of sunscreen!

Do you have wet suits for cold water?

No we do not but they rent them across the street.

How long are your trips?

After we leave our location we go through the Destin Harbor. The trip takes a total of 2 1/2 Hours.

Do we need a reservation?

Yes reservations are required. You will need a major credit card to make a reservation. We recommend 1 to 2 days in advance.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes. Food and drinks are absolutely allowed on the boats, and we actually provide coolers for you! Just keep in mind that Florida’s law requires boat operators to remain under .08 blood alcohol level. If you need a designated driver we also have Captains for hire. There are also vendors near Crab island that provide food and beverages.

No. Even as a master captain of ten years I would feel unsafe attempting an ocean voyage on a small craft. The waters in the Gulf near Destin and the East Pass can get very rough and high seas make ocean attempts extremely dangerous.

Crab Island is a a sand bar that was actually once an island. It is a destination for many boaters where they have access to floating bars, restaurants, inflatable water parks, and other attractions.

Yes. We have all necessary Coast Guard approved life jackets and floatation devices that come includes with your boat rental. We have life jackets for both children and adults available for you.

No, tubing is not allowed with a standard boat rental. However, if you’d like to go tubing, you can ask about a licensed Captain taking you. We do allow that.

No. We have free parking right near your boat pick-up location. No traffic. No lines.

Boat renters must be 18 years old with valid I.D. and major credit card. This is required, and there are no exceptions to this rule.

Drivers born after Jan 1st, 1988 must obtain a boaters safety card. You may obtain one here , or you can obtain a license at our location. The test is relatively easy and you can take it until you pass! In order to operate a motorboat of ten (10) horsepower or greater, Florida law requires anyone who was born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 to successfully complete an approved boating safety course and obtain a Boating Safety Education Identification Card issued by the FWC.

Weather: Destiny Water Adventures does not operate in unsafe weather conditions, but a light rain shower is not a deterrent. The Captain will assess the weather and should it be determined the conditions are unsafe to run the tour, the tour may be postponed or it will be canceled. If a trip is canceled by Destiny Water Adventures for any reason, every effort will be made to reschedule the trip during your stay. If you are unable to reschedule, you will have the option of receiving a voucher for a future trip or receiving a full refund. Every effort will be made to run tours as advertised. Should Destiny have to amend or alter your tour due to extraneous circumstances, tickets remain non-refundable on tours taken. Cancellation: We understand that life happens so we have a no hassle 48 hour cancellation policy. However, cancellations made within 48 hours of your reservation, and no shows, are charged in full. We make every effort to stay in front of the weather. If we cancel your reservation due to weather, every effort will be made to get you rescheduled. If rescheduling is not an option then a full refund will be made.
