I got married on September 23, 2023. Following the wedding , we reserved a river cruise with My Paris River down the Seine. Patrick was amazing . He was such a great, funny, and knowledgeable person with a great personality . Even though he stated his English wasn’t that great, it was perfect! He did a fantastic job of bringing us along to visit all the important locations, explaining every minor detail, and making the trip as a whole an excellent experience . The boat is very comfortable, with a wonderful scenic ride on the water, and Patrick basically said whatever we wanted to do was ok; we even got to drive the boat! I can’t recommend this tour enough; I would do it again in a heartbeat. I would suggest this boat excursion over the crowded barges with hundreds of people, so once again, thank you, Patrick and MyParisRiver .

I'd say it's a mistranslation - or more accurately false friends.

The french word for safety is sécurité. There are flood warnings for the Seine.

The river is fairly high so maybe no boats under the bridge. I will look today.

Their email read “…par des imperatifs de securite “, also below that was a paragraph they had written in March regarding the March cancellations due to the floods.

So to me, this implied security not the waters.

The Seine is still rising and will reach over 4 mètres (13 feet) above normal this weekend. Nothing unusual for springtime but could be enough to prevent larger vessels getting under the bridges, or the increased flow making it difficult dock safely. I'm not saying that's definitely the reason, but I haven't heard about anything else that would be a safety concern.

Also, as already said, it's a safety issue, not a security issue.

It is stated on their website 'due to significant flooding'

If the announcement at the metro was,” for your security, please stand behind the yellow line as the train approaches,” would you think that there was an imminent terrorist attack for those who crossed that line?
