"A few days in Buenos Aires"

We participated in a guided tour in the southern part of Buenos Aires. This tour was made by bike which is an exellent way of seeing this amazing city. I can strongly recommend BA bikes. We had very nice guide who told us a lot about the different spots we visited.

By WalterBromma on TripAdvisor London, UK

"My favourite tour in BA"

I found this tour amazing with so much useful information about the south of the city from our tour guide. He knew all the history, was happy to answer questions and had an awesome sense of humour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone as we had such a laugh!

By cookens on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Excellent morning in BA!"

We did the south route, and it was beautiful, so much to see, amazing scenery, and there is a bit of a stop in La Boca for you to walk around. Took us around the city in a way that we would not have otherwise done on our own, and we loved every second of it.

"23 feb 2016 BA Bike tour (South)"

They know everything about the history of the Southern neighboorhoods of BA and can talk about it in a very interesting way! You just keep on listening. They really take care of the small group in the sometimes hectic traffic in BA. Really worth it!!!

By Susanne t on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Excellent Tour and Guides"

BA Bikes was excellent! We did the South circuit. Our guides were great, very knowledgeable and fun, with great, easy to understand English and good humor. They really knew their history, and explained it in a way that was easy to understand. They talked about historical events, but also talked a lot about the current status politically, socially, and economically in Argentina and Buenos Aires, and gave us an idea of daily life here.

By ktaberle on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Unique way to experience the city"

My family and I recently did the North Circuit tour with BA bikes, and we had a great time. We only had a few days to see BA, and the bike tour gave us a great overview of the major sights and their history. Plus, we enjoyed the fresh air and the ability to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Overall, we were really impressed with how professional and personable the staff was, and the price is unbeatable! Highly recommend it!

"Everything you ever needed to know about Buenos Aires, and on a bike!"

I did the Market Tour. It was GREAT! Our guide knew so much about the city - it was like I had my own pocket historian. We cruised around the city, looked for dead people in the cemetery, and I had plenty of time to myself to cruise around the Frances and San Telmo markets. Would definitely recommend this tour. Bike was comfy and felt like it could take me anywhere.

By Pele C on TripAdvisor London, UK

"North & South circuit in one day!"

We did both circuits in one day, it was a great way to take in a lot of the city in a short amount of time. Both routes are good as they show very different parts of the city- Wall of recommendations in the shop were really useful, and we used a couple of them while we were in BA. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting BA. Thanks for the great tours!

"BA Bikes Food Tour"

I took my family on the bike/food tour and it was the highlight of their trip to Buenos Aires. It was entertaining, unique, educational, and the guides were all around great guys! We definitely did not leave hungry.

"Amazing way to see Buenos Aires!"

BA Bikes is a great way to get an overview of the city. I highly recommend going on one of your first days to talk to a local guide and come up with ideas for your trip to Buenos Aires. Come hungry -- you will have lots of yummy food options. Ask for Gaston -- he was a very knowledgeable guide!

By Shannon B on TripAdvisor Australia

Our guides were so insightful and knowledgeable, they also made us feel safe on the bikes which were great quality as well. They went above and beyond for the tour group of 7 people answering any questions we had and introducing us to many Argentinian foods and places and history that we would never have known. If your thinking about doing this then do it!!!!! :) fantastic

"Food bike tour"

Regarding the Food Bike tour I might say that is extremely enjoyable and i would highly recommend it to everyone. We have a little taste of pretty much every traditional meals we enjoy informally with our friends: empanadas in the plaza, bondiola and chori in the costanera, home made ice cream in av. de mayo and great coffee in a confiteria tradicional. Everybody LOVED it, and it was a great ending for our trip.

By Emily Clarke on TripAdvisor Miami, FL

"Great trip highly recommended"

Great relaxed trip around the south of BA, our guides were fantastic and had the group smiling all trip. The trip was also really informative especially the main plaza and both my girlfriend and I loved it. Cheers guys!

By johntripadv on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Wonderful way to see Buenos Aires"

The tour lasted approximately 4 hours and I definitely felt like I got a great overview of the South side of the city. The guides and their peers at the bike shop were also very helpful in recommending restaurants and other things to see in the city. Everyone seems to love their job and is genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy BA as much as they do.

By Erika J on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Best tour ever!"

It was my first bike tour ever and I wish all the ones I will take in the future will be of the same level as this one. I took the South tour through La Boca, Puerto Madero, Plaza de Mayo and other place with. I had the luck to meet the group working at BA Bikes and I must say they one more friendly than the other. Could not recommend this more!

Felt we got to really see and taste the local vibe (literally as he taught us how to make our own fernet and el mate).

@wendiandadam

There were so many little extra things we loved about this tour like the Fernet and coke we had out of a cut in half coke bottle.

@chriswZ8840YO

Special thanks for making sure our group was always well hydrated (I did prefer the mate to the Fernet!)

@451louisej

What a spot to have my first "glass"!

I was exposed to a wonderful introduction to the culture, sipping mate on the grass and enjoying fernet cola in a home-made cup outside the cabj stadium..

@ Sunshine47494246285

I have to admit I am not a Fernet fan, but loved the mate ritual.

We also learned how the locals drink their fernet cola., we had a few fun breaks along the trip to taste fernet & coke and yerba mate made the traditional way., we learned about everything from history to politics, football and drinking fernet branca, street art to eva peron., we tried fernet with coke. i enjoyed it but most others didn't like it., what other travelers loved about us.

“These cats know their stuff... Socially conscious, hip as hell and smarter about the city than most anyone, they really are a first-class operation.”

@Mario on AirBnB, 26/02

Aleah was a fantastic guide. Her passion for Buenos Aires was contagious and by the end of the ride, I was wishing I could live here and drink mate with friends every day.

@Erika Vaquerano on AirBnB, 15/04

We got inside the Porteño lifestyle. Gaby was a special hostess, the drinks and food experiences, together with her knowledge, friendliness and kindness made it a great experience.

  • littlestcabbage 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Good route, great stories In ~8 hours, 20 miles, and 3 food stops, we covered Buenos Aires neighborhoods in the north and south in a long, slender loop. I had spent most of my trip in the south, so I was exited to see the differences in architecture (and dog-walking styles!) in other barios. My group was only 3 people + guide Julián and we moved at a gentle pace, stopping frequently to hear stories about the history of the city and country. (I saw one review criticizing the guide for injecting their “politics” into their talks. That’s actually what convinced me to book with this company: I’d like to hear real perspectives from real locals! I was particularly interested in what Julián had to say about the Malvinas and Los Desaparecidos.) Julián was attentive to the group, informative, and friendly. The bikes were in good repair. I would happily book with Biker Street again! If you’re from a cooler climate like I am, you may wish to bring additional water and ask for an extra bathroom stop if you need it. And don’t forget sunglasses! It felt like we were biking into the sun the whole day. 😎 Read more Written April 19, 2024

We had the pleasure of doing the full day tour with Gilda. What a fascinating, educational, and very fun way to experience the city. Gilda was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She provided interesting facts and perspectives on Argentine history, art, culture, and architecture, as well as personal insight and commentary on both the past and present. The bikes were easy to ride and comfortable. The route was well thought out and we felt safe at all times. We rode mostly on bike paths, but there were a few times we were in traffic. It was interesting to ride through such a wide variety of neighborhoods, some of which otherwise might be inaccessible to tourists. We made arrangements for the tour before we arrived in BA, and communication with BA Bike Tours was easy and clear. They also provided helpful information for getting to and from their location. The price of the tour included all of the extras -- mate, empanadas, lunch, cemetery ticket, and bottled water – so we didn’t have to worry about not having enough local currency. Paris of Latin America

Buenos aires bike tours.

Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital city, sits on the funnel-shaped estuary of the Río de la Plata. Known as ‘The Paris of Latin America’, the city bristles with rich history, European architecture, and resplendent public parks.

Buenos Aires’s other nicknames include ‘La Reina de La Plata’ (Queen of the River Plate) and ‘La Ciudad de la Furia’ (The City of Fury). The first nickname is for its enviable and supreme position on the Río de la Plata, the long estuary that pours into the Atlantic Ocean, and along which many of the city’s early European settlers made their wealth. The second refers to the high intensity you immediately experience in this metropolis: the passionate disposition of its inhabitants, the drama of its tangoes, and the intense flavors of the wines and stakes so beloved by Porteños.

Pedro de Mendoza founded the first settlement on the site of the city in 1536, before Juan de Garay established a permanent settlement in 1580. The city flourished and attracted immigrants from throughout Europe, before playing a crucial role in Argentina’s fight for independence in the 19th century.

More modern history saw the military dictatorship known as the ‘Dirty War’ that shook Argentina. But the resilience of Buenos Aires’s inhabitants meant that political activism, cultural development, and artistic expression bounced back and continues to thrive. Take the Best of Buenos Aires Bike Tour to get a holistic sense of the city’s rich history and culture, and acquaint yourself with Argentine icons like Eva Perón.

Home to over 15 million people, each neighborhood in Buenos Aires has its own unique character and charm. From the colorful streets of La Boca to the trendy Palermo and historic San Telmo, there is a neighborhood to suit every taste.

If you want to explore the lesser-known southern neighborhoods of the city, the Graffiti & Street Art of Buenos Aires Bike Tour offers an innovative perspective on the intersection of art, architecture, and social history in the city. Alternatively, pedal peacefully through the Northern barrios on the Parks & Plaza Bike Tour to encounter the city’s more tranquil side.

Where to go?

There are tons of options but here are some of the best places to explore by bike:

In the neighbourhood of Puerto Madero, the 350-hectare Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve is one of the biggest urban nature reserves in the world. We recommend exploring its trails and connecting to nature to appreciate the native flora and fauna and to rest a while with a view of the Río de la Plata.

Over in Palermo is another one of the city’s largest green spaces: Parque Tres de Febrero , with its rose garden, lakes, planetarium and racecourse.

Eco-bici - Transporte Público Gratuito - Ciudad de Buenos Aires

Another park to visit is Parque Centenario on the border of Caballito, Almagro and Villa Crespo. Here you can drop by the Bernardino Rivadavia Museum of Natural Sciences, and nearby you can discover a quiet neighbourhood with quaint European-style houses.

Five Boro Bike Tour is pedaling back to NYC this weekend. Here’s what to know.

The TD Five Boro Bike Tour, the nation’s biggest communal bike ride, is returning to the Big Apple this weekend for its 46th iteration through the streets of all five New York City boroughs.

Forecasters are predicting a wet and rainy day on Sunday, May 5, but that won’t stop about 30,000 cyclists from getting on two wheels and pedaling along the 40-mile course, which begins in Manhattan, grazes the Bronx, returns to Manhattan, then travels through Queens and Brooklyn before ending on Staten Island.

The tour, which is organized by Bike New York and supports bicycle education programming, has run every year since 1977 except for 1991, when it lost its original sponsor, and 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first wave of cyclists will begin the tour at 7:30 a.m. in Lower Manhattan, while the sixth and final wave will depart at 10:25 a.m.

Numerous streets will be closed to auto traffic for the tour. Those include Sixth Avenue in Manhattan between Franklin and West 59th streets, the FDR Drive between the Third Avenue Bridge and 63rd Street, the Queensboro Bridge upper level, the Brooklyn-bound span of the Pulaski Bridge, the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway from Downtown Brooklyn to Bay Ridge, and the lower level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.

A full list of street closures can be found at https://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/html/motorist/wkndtraf.shtml
