We're moving to the Pen Centre!

Pencentreblog

Boosting our presence in the city of St. Catharines, we are moving into the Pen Centre beside the passport office. Our current St. Catharines Branch, which has been located at Lake Street and Welland Avenue since the 1960s, is set to close this March and reopen inside the mall.

The new location will be in proximity to a growing number of CAA Rewards® partners, too, including The Source, RW&Co., Boston Pizza, Kelseys, Marble Slab Creamery and New York Fries. As part of the relocation plan, Member-facing services at our Thorold location will now be available at the Pen Centre, with Thorold transitioning into an office environment for administrative staff only.

Bidding Farewell to Lake Street

CAA Niagara traces its roots back to 1911, when 16 car enthusiasts held the first meeting of the St. Catharines Automobile Association. In the 1960s, the club opened its new headquarters on Lake Street in St. Catharines . As demand for travel services grew in the 1980s, the club opened additional Branches in Niagara Falls, Welland and Grimsby. The Lake Street location acted as CAA Niagara’s headquarters for nearly three decades prior to the Thorold Branch debut  in 1990 on Schmon Parkway. After 60 years, we say goodbye to our Lake Street location.

“We’re so thrilled to be able to expand CAA Niagara’s community efforts,” said Michael Goodale, Board Chair, CAA Niagara. “The club launched Community Boost in 2019 as a way to make a bigger impact on charities in Niagara, and now, we’re able to take those efforts even further. By supporting local businesses and taking action on the hunger crisis, we hope to strengthen the fabric of our community and make Niagara a better place for all.”
