Description
CSI: The Experience is an interactive attraction located at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, offering visitors the chance to step into the shoes of a crime scene investigator and solve a fictional murder mystery. The attraction is based on the popular television series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and was developed in collaboration with the show’s producers and forensic experts.
Upon arrival, visitors are welcomed into a replica of a forensic lab, complete with equipment and tools used in real-life crime investigations. The experience then leads participants through three different crime scenes, each with its unique clues and challenges to solve. Visitors are given a CSI-style kit, including a clipboard, evidence bags, and a flashlight, to help them collect and analyze the evidence.
In the first crime scene, visitors are tasked with investigating the murder of a woman found in her hotel room. The second scene involves a shooting at a convenience store, and the third, a car crash that leads to a surprising discovery.
The interactive nature of the experience is what sets it apart from other museum exhibits or attractions. Participants are fully immersed in the investigation and have the opportunity to use high-tech equipment such as digital microscopes and chromatography machines to analyze evidence. At each scene, visitors must make notes on their findings and work together to solve the crime.
At the end of the experience, visitors submit their findings and conclusions to a virtual “Grissom” – named after the iconic CSI character – and receive a personalized report detailing how close they came to solving the case. With its combination of immersive technology, educational value, and entertainment, CSI: The Experience offers a unique and engaging experience for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re a fan of the television series or simply interested in the science of crime scene investigation, CSI: The Experience is a must-see attraction in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Attraction: CSI: The Experience
Anybody who is going to Las Vegas and loves CSI needs to stop at the MGM Hotel and Casino to check out CSI: The Experience. This experience takes you through different crime scenes where you look at the evidence and at the end of the tour you get to solve the crime using the computers provided. There are three different crime scenes you can choose from and this helps to make the experience go much smoother than if there were only one. Other than the crime scene areas, there are other areas that aid in your investigation and that allow you to use the evidence to make your determination.
The Exhibition Areas
There are seven main areas in the exhibit including the three crime scene areas:
- Briefing Area – This is where you get all the information you need in order to solve the crime and put the perpetrator behind bars. The creator of CSI greets you and then a real forensic scientist helps you learn the basics about crime scene investigation. Finally you are prepped by your supervisor who reminds you to keep an open mind and to work through the case systematically.
- Crime Scene One: The House Collided – Crime scene one shows you a car that has went through a home with the driver slumped over the steering and still in the car. Obviously this is not a real person but a manikin that is used instead. There is a great deal of evidence to sort through and you will use some real crime scene investigative techniques to determine what actually happened.
- Crime Scene Two: Who Got Served? – When you walk up to this crime scene, you see a dead girl behind on of the old hotels in Las Vegas. There is debris scattered around her body and all is considered evidence. It is your job to determine what the evidence is and what trash from the dumpster she is lying beside is not evidence. She is wearing a waitress uniform and has on a name tag labeled Penny. Is this her real name, who is she and who murdered her? These are the questions you will answer as the crime scene investigator.
- Crime Scene Three: No Bones About It – Crime scene three takes place in the Nevada desert and hits really close to home because there are many bodies and bones found in the desert. The set of bones comes with many clues and it is your job to sift through them to determine cause of death. Not all crime scene investigations lead to murder and this victim could simply be a hiker that became lost and died from the elements. You will not know what has happened until you go through all of the evidence and conclude your investigation.
- Lab One – This is probably one of the coolest areas of the exhibit as this is where you perform your tests on the evidence from the crime scenes. You will learn about blood spatter patterns as well as fingerprinting techniques. You will also examine fibers to see if they match other evidence that has been found and search through digital mapping of crime scene locations. One of the best tools is learning about firearm ballistics so you can determine the cause of the death, how the crime was committed and who did the crime. All these tools are actual forensic studies that are completed on actual crimes.
- Lab Two: Autopsy Room – Lab two and the Autopsy room are where you get under the skin of the victim to gather even more evidence and where you analyze it too. You learn about DNA evidence and how it works to determine suspects and how it is used to help identify victims. Then you will see a virtual autopsy of the victims to help further determine their cause of death. All of this evidence helps in your criminal investigation and works hand in hand with the other evidence collected to determine the outcome of the case.
- Report To Grissom The Supervisor – You report you findings to Supervisor Grissom after logging into the secure system with your thumbprint. Once you have given your report and have told him your finding, he will let you know if you are right or if your evidence does not add up. This is where the investigators learn if all their hard work paid off or if they were on the wrong track all together.
Family Guide
You can download some fun filled guides that will help your family hone their observational skills before you take on the task of solving a crime. These guides can be found on the CSI: The Experience website and can be downloaded and printed out for all the family members to try. Teachers can also use these guides in the classroom to teach their students these same tactics. The following is a list of the games and activities that will help your powers of perception and observation:
- The Writing On The Wall – This activity teaches everyone how to match writing samples to see if they fit one person. It is very easy to do and does not take any expensive supplies. Simply get two different colored index cards, pass them out and have either the family members or class write the same word on both cards. As you collect the cards, give one color of cards letters and the other numbers so they can be identified as belonging to the same person. For instance, the first two cards would be A and 1.
- Spot The Difference – This is very easy to set up and many remember this game from the comics section of the newspaper when you were kids. Simply take one photograph and print it out, Photoshop some items in the digital copy and print that out the same size as the original print. Then find the differences between the pictures.
- I-Witness – This game not only works on observational skills but also helps to build writing skills. Show your children or the classroom a photo and let them look at it for about a minute. Once you put the photo away, have them write a description of what they saw in the photograph.
Coupons and Savings
This interactive experience is not cheap but it is worth the thirty dollars that you pay to spend a few hours out of the hot Las Vegas sun. Nearly every Las Vegas magazine that is found on the strip including coupon books has an offer for five to ten dollars off this attraction. Take advantage of these savings before heading over to the MGM Hotel and Casino. You can also get savings by signing up for the players club at the MGM.
Final Thoughts
This is one of the best interactive attractions in Las Vegas at the moment. It is not only fun but it offers a great chance at learning new skills for the entire family. Whether you come to Las Vegas for a business trip, convention or just a family holiday, CSI: The Experience is a must. Even locals who never venture near the Strip have taken the time to check out this awesome exhibit and to become forensic detectives in their own right.

Traveler Reviews
Had a good laugh on this totally loved it got great pictures were big fans so loved the experience and bought stuff from the gift shop that we cherish totally recommend this.
The CSI Experience is a fun interactive activity that I think is best with a group of people. I went with my family for my brother's birthday and everyone had a good time speculating and creating our own deductions from the clues provided us.
This experience was really enjoyable. Next trip to Vegas we are doing the other two challenges!!
The CSI: The Experience was a lot of fun. The amount of work put into the scenes were incredible. I will definitely go back to solve the other two cases the next time I’m in Vegas.
Nice game but we were expecting some more interactive things ok, It has to be simple and fun... to easy for us
Nothing special, didn't really live up to it's description - we worked our way round a lab - looking at very very simple closed - my 10year old did it in 30mins - not what we expected.
It was so much fun! My husband and I enjoyed it!
So much fun. Whether you are by yourself or with a group you can solve a mystery by learning the process of solving a crime. Entertaining as well as a learning experience. Energetic staff.
This experience involved working though several staged crimes. They were quite easy and interesting. If you loved the show as we did you would find it fun.
I am a huge CSI fan so I am probably a bit biased but we really enjoyed the experience. We only did one crime scene but there is generic information relating to the other cases displayed on the walls etc anyway so I do not feel as though we missed out on anything. We paid for the most expensive photograph package I think maybe 50-60 which included two certificates, two printed photographs, a USB of all photos and a souvenir pen. We also bought quite a few other items from the shop. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend CSI: The Experience.

CSI: The Experience in Las Vegas
Test your investigative skills.
CSI: The Experience is an interactive adventure where you can discover the secrets of forensic science and play the part of a professional investigator at staged crime scenes. This multimedia set will take you through the various stages actual crime scene investigators go through, from surveying the crime scene to analyzing evidence in the lab.
This experience is catered toward people who are at least 12 years old, but given the content of the experience, older teenagers and adults tend to enjoy it more. Most guests take about an hour to get through the experience, with the average time at each scene being about 10 minutes.

CSI: The Experience highlights
For fans of the show, the primary highlight of this experience is that the "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" actors recorded special content solely for this attraction. You'll find all-new investigations they take part in, and it's all presented alongside information presented by real-life investigators. Combining the entertainment of the show with the expertise of real-world investigators provides an engaging and educational experience.
The cases themselves can be somewhat challenging. You'll have to use your deductive logic and inductive reasoning to find the solution and crack the case. Rest assured, however, that all the information you need is available.
Good to know when visiting CSI: The Experience
Upon entering this experience, you'll be briefed with a quick video before you get started. Then, you'll be taken to 1 of 3 different crime scenes. This is chosen for you in most cases, but during instances in which the crowd isn't that large, you may be able to request which crime scene you'd like.
Although most visitors only spend about 10 minutes at each scene, there's no time limit to abide by, so you never have to feel rushed. Additionally, you access media at each station rather than having a guided audio commentary for the entire experience.

REVIEW: CSI: Vegas Season 3, Episode 5 Is a Giant Terminator Riff
- Episode proves CSI: Vegas isn't reliant on tech gimmicks.
- Inside jokes add fun, but Penny's subplot feels late.
- Beau and Catherine still struggle to mesh as partners.
The following contains major spoilers from CSI: Vegas Season 3, Episode 5, "It Was Automation," which debuted Sunday, March 24 on CBS.
The CSI franchise hasn't been afraid to try odd things, and CSI: Vegas Season 3 takes a surprising turn with "It Was Automation," which asks viewers whether or not a high-tech robot is a murder weapon or the actual perpetrator. This isn't even the weirdest episode of the show (that's still the clowns from Season 1), nor is it the most original. But it works because writer Dave Metzger is having a ridiculous amount of fun with the most basic of technothriller ideas.
In "It Was Automation," Robert Cuevas is killed during a factory night shift -- despite being the sole human in the building. Meanwhile, one of the CSI team has a severely delayed reaction to events from earlier in the season. The episode is largely straightforward and it has its flaws, but it also feels like a massive nod to the Terminator movie franchise. If Metzger wasn't riffing on Terminator intentionally, then he's done a great job accidentally paying homage to Skynet.
CSI: Vegas Season 3, Episode 5 Is a Fun Terminator Story
The plot features several entertaining references, now is the perfect time for the terminator to come back.
The idea of machine killing man is one of the oldest concepts in the science fiction genre, so anyone tuning into CSI: Vegas pretty much knows how the plot of "It Was Automation" is going to play out from the moment they see the robot. Everyone is going to worry that Ocho (yes, it has a name) will murder more people, until because this is a procedural, the very human perpetrator is ultimately revealed. But, of course, there will be some creepy moments both before and after that announcement. Metzger's script even throws in the near-obligatory cliffhanger at the end, as killer Cliff Roland's (guest star Gabriel Tigerman) car unexpected collides with a tree. It's obvious that the writer wants viewers to wonder if the AI-driven vehicle is responsible.
There's nothing new plot-wise whatsoever. However, that's offset by the fact that CSI: Vegas is aware of that and leans into viewers' expectations -- and then some. All of the guest characters are stereotypical programmers and corporate talking heads who lack any real social skills, with the clear exception of the technology company's suave CEO, Truman Thomas. But the script handles these archetypes with a wink and a smile. Marg Helgenberger's fan-favorite Catherine Willows skewers Thomas' assistant Sabrina's perky yet uncooperative attitude. And Thomas is played by actor Owain Yeoman, who's best known for his work on The Mentalist . However, he also portrayed the evil Cromartie in the pilot of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles . And if Metzger didn't know that, then it's a cheer-worthy coincidence when Yeoman is given the line, "I've been warning us for years about the dangers of sentient AI..."
Skynet gets name-checked, as does the Terminator franchise explicitly, thanks to Maxine Roby. Anyone who loves those movies or sci-fi can't help but watch this episode with a smile. When every other procedural plays with a familiar plot, all they get is tropes. When CSI: Vegas does it, it finds ways to have a great time. And because of the nature of this franchise, it also hits on a big-picture level.
CSI: Vegas' Technology Commentary Works on a Meta Level
The tech-heavy franchise seems to check itself, 10 friendliest tv robots.
CSI: Vegas isn't the first show to play around with technology as a cautionary tale, but there's an extra level to "It Was Automation" because of the franchise's emphasis on technology. There's the part pointed out on-screen, when a power surge disrupts all the machines in the Las Vegas Crime Lab and one employee has no idea what to do. But there's also the off-screen element: TV viewers associate CSI with technology. The franchise's visual language of scientific close-ups is one of its defining characteristics, and the term "the CSI effect" was coined long ago to explain the impact its fictional criminalists have had on real-world cases.
So for CSI : Vegas to tell a story in which technology is perceived as bad, and which then goes on to emphasize the importance of the human element, reinforces how this series is first and foremost character-driven. The cool lab stuff is still here, but it's not as much of a driving force as it was in every other CSI series . In fact, the best scenes in "It Was Automation" have nothing to do with Ocho the robot or the tech company. The moments that have actual impact are one-on-one conversations between the main characters, such as Max and Josh Folsom having their first real chat since he nearly got himself fired, or Serena Chavez talking to a few different people.
Max instructing her wayward employee on how to do work without machines is a pleasant reminder that these are characters who are smart, capable and believe in old-school legwork just as much as cutting-edge gadgets. (It does end up being slightly undercut when the woman comes back to profusely thank Max near episode's end.) There's also another joke that pops up, as Beau Finado mentions that in his previous career he was asked to appear on Undercover Boss , which is one of CBS' longest-running reality TV shows.
Can CSI: Vegas Clean up Some of Its Loose Character Threads?
Penny gill's subplots in episode 5 fall very flat, 10 best episodes of csi: vegas, ranked.
For all the fun to be had, there are two significant knocks against "It Was Automation" that bring it down to just a solid CSI episode , and both involve the character of Penny Gill. Season 3 revealed that Penny is engaged to coroner Jack Nikolayevich, and this episode has quite a few Jack and Penny scenes. But despite the best efforts of actors Sarah Gilman and Joel Johnstone, Penny and Jack's relationship doesn't add anything to the show. Perhaps because viewers were as surprised by the pairing as the team was, there's no connection to them on a purely fan level, and they don't contribute anything to the plot, either. The episode does provide a well-overdue reference to Jack's sister Sonya, who's still recovering from being poisoned in CSI: Vegas Season 2 , so hopefully Sara Amini will return to the show soon.
Past that, the major subplot here is Penny's harsh reaction to learning that Serena was working for Internal Affairs. This idea falls short in more than one way. Firstly, Penny is a charming supporting character, but she's likewise not impactful enough for the audience to become invested in her anger. Her friendship with Serena isn't as prominent as Serena's other relationships, so if CSI: Vegas wanted to explore someone turning on Serena, it should have been someone the detective is closer to. But the larger issue is one acknowledged in the episode: Penny's indignance comes way too late. Serena was revealed as a mole in Season 3, Episode 2, "Rat Packed." Three episodes later, the Crime Lab has moved on... and more importantly, so have viewers. The only person who got truly upset at Serena was Josh, and he was dating her, and even he's over it. Having Penny rebuke Serena now doesn't move the proverbial needle.
Much like how Catherine and Beau Finado haven't clicked as partners, Penny and Jack are so far in the same boat. And while "It Was Automation" takes a step toward fixing the former, Penny's problem with Serena feels literally out of time. This is an almost entirely self-contained episode that will make viewers grin and laugh and be reminded that the word "procedural" doesn't have to be synonymous with "formula." But there are still a few spots where CSI: Vegas can improve. The CBS drama is now officially halfway through Season 3, and after coming back with a bang due to Folsom's fate, it feels like there's something else still on the horizon. The show is at its best when it balances one-off cases with serialized character arcs and other than Folsom climbing his way back up the ladder, there hasn't been anything major changing the face of the Crime Lab just yet. That's the one thing keeping Season 3 from truly hitting its stride -- so if future scripts steer clear of these less relevant subplots, there's still time to catch viewers by surprise.
CSI: Vegas airs Sundays at 10:00 p.m. on CBS, returning in April 2024.

Vegas, US tour and more signings: Wrexham has plenty of fun and work ahead after latest promotion
Steve Douglas
Associated Press
Wrexham players on the pitch celebrate promotion to League One after the final whistle of the Sky Bet League Two match at the SToK Cae Ras, Wrexham, Saturday April 13, 2024. (Jacob King/PA via AP)
Wrexham and its Hollywood owners are halfway to the promised land.
Playing in the Premier League — the world’s richest and most popular soccer league — might not be such a fanciful notion, after all, for a club that not so long ago was success-starved, financially stricken and languishing in the fifth tier of the English game.
Recommended Videos
Under the ownership of celebrities Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney since 2021, Wrexham has achieved two successive promotions — the latest being clinched on Saturday when the team was assured of going up to third-tier League One.
Two more promotions and Wrexham will be mixing it with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United in the Premier League.
That, though, may take some time.
Before that, Wrexham's players have a league title to go for, some post-season celebrations to enjoy — Las Vegas, anyone? — and another U.S. preseason tour to make before starting their bid for a third straight promotion.
Here's what lies ahead for the Welsh team whose extraordinary journey is being chronicled in the popular show “Welcome to Wrexham”:
TITLE CHANCE?
Claiming one of the three automatic promotion spots in League Two was the first aim and that has been achieved with two games to spare. Now, Wrexham has a chance to win some hardware by finishing in first place and capturing the title. It won't be easy. Wrexham is in second place, four points behind Stockport, which has three games left. If Stockport isn't able to clinch first place by winning either of its next two matches, the title could be up for grabs when Wrexham hosts Stockport at the Racecourse Ground on the final day of the season. It's expected that Reynolds and McElhenney will be there for an occasion which will be a day of celebrations whatever happens.
POST-SEASON PARTY
The season hasn't finished yet but the promotion party has already begun . Wrexham's players were pictured — and filmed — enjoying themselves in a town-center pub on Sunday, a day after beating Forest Green 6-0 to spark a pitch invasion at the Racecourse Ground. Paul Mullin , the star striker and top scorer, was seen in the pub standing on a chair with his arms out and his eyes closed in front of his smiling teammates, who mixed with members of the public. After winning the fifth-tier National League last year, the squad was treated to a trip to Las Vegas by the owners — and the players might be headed to Sin City again. Asked what message was sent to Reynolds and McElhenney after sealing promotion, midfielder Elliot Lee said: “We’ve just told them to fire up the jet for Vegas!”
Wrexham has already booked in another preseason tour of the United States, just like last year. Only one match has been confirmed so far, and that's against Chelsea in Santa Clara, California, on July 24. Wrexham played Chelsea and Manchester United as part of a four-match preseason trip to the U.S. in July 2023 that contained fixtures in North Carolina, Los Angeles, San Diego and Philadelphia in a 10-day span. It might have helped Wrexham grow its fanbase but might not been ideal in terms of travel and season preparation. Wrexham may choose to stay in and around the west coast this time and ensure the squad is back home in plenty of time to prepare for the start of the League One season on Aug. 10.
LIFE IN LEAGUE ONE
So what awaits Wrexham's players in League One? For starters, they're likely to have home and away matches against Shrewsbury, one of their big local rivals. They haven't been in the same league since 2008, though Wrexham did beat Shrewsbury in the FA Cup this season. Wigan, a Premier League team and FA Cup winner barely a decade ago, is in the third tier, as might be Bolton and Blackpool — other teams who have been in the top flight this century. Wrexham is set to receive a cash boost of around $2 million from being in League One — more than half of which comes in the form of a “solidarity payment” handed down by Premier League clubs — that will help pay for some new signings. Deloitte has reported that the average League One team generates around $11 million in revenue but Wrexham is on course to top that, helped by its wider appeal likely making the team a popular watch on iFollow — the streaming service used by the English Football League. Indeed, Wrexham's latest accounts showed that its turnover in the financial year of 2022-23 was $13.3 million, even if its losses increased to $6.4 million. Meanwhile, Wrexham will look to push on with the renovation of its Kop stand at one end of the Racecourse to boost its capacity, and therefore its gate receipts. There is a temporary stand in place at the moment, helping to lift attendances for home matches to more than 15,000. If Wrexham wanted any inspiration on its journey through the leagues, it just needs to look at Luton, which went from the fifth tier to the Premier League in nine years (2014-2023).

Diaz, 38, is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Jake Paul in their boxing match last August. It was Diaz’s first competition since he left the UFC after his final promotion appearance, a win over Tony Ferguson, in September 2022 at UFC 279.
Masvidal, 39, hasn’t competed since losing to Gilbert Burns last April at UFC 287 , which capped off a four-fight losing streak. Masvidal announced afterward that he was retired from MMA.
