Famous for its breathtaking vistas, the mighty Dudhsagar falls has managed to grab a position in the ten  highest waterfalls in Asia  cascading from a height of 1017ft. As the name suggests, the “sea of milk” is in reference to the white spray created while water gushes down to the natural pool of tranquil water created at the base of the falls.

Visit to Dudhsagar Falls

According to legendary tale, a bathing princess poured the milk in a cascade to preserve her modesty from a passerby. You will be enthralled to see the lush green forest- known as  Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary  which is also a home to different species of animals and birds. The bumpy  jeep safari  to waterfall and time you would spend at the waterfall is going to leave you rejuvenated. Spice Plantation

You will visit the Spice farm in Keri, Ponda where you will be served the herbal tea as a welcome drink which will be followed by a guided Spice Plantation tour of the farm where you will get to see a number spices which have a fantastic aroma. The spices seen are cloves, pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and many other spices which are processed in their natural environment. In your tour, you will be served a sumptuous Goan lunch.

Elephant Shower and Ride

If you wish, you can take an elephant ride and shower. The cost of this will not be included in the package charges, and you will be required to pay on the spot.

Pick up and Drop Off

Pick you up from your location & drop you at the parking area in Kulem, from where you have to walk towards the Dudhsagar taxi stand.

06:00am to 07:00am - pick up.

Pick Up from North Goa Hotel ( Calangute, Baga, Arpora, Nagoa, Candolim, Sinquerim, Nerul Area.) and journey to Mollem National Park Entrance

10:00am to 11:00am - at Dudhsagar Falls

Walk for 200 meters and relax at the waterfall (Swim with life jackets on & get refreshed at the base of the waterfall. You will get 1 hr to spend here.

11:00am to 12:00pm - Back to the Entrance

Jeep Safari back to Mollem National Park Entrance.

12:00pm to 03:00pm - Spice Plantation Tour

Guided Tour at the spice plantation followed by Goan style buffet lunch (Veg/Non-Veg). Optional Elephant Ride or Shower to be paid on the spot if operating

03:30pm to 04:00pm - Old Goa’s church

Things to know, pickup & drop to the entry gate.

The minibus will drop you at the parking area in Kulem, from where you have to walk towards the Doodhsagar taxi stand. Therefore the  jeep safari for Dudhsagar Waterfalls  starts from Kulem. The Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary and the jeep safaris are maintained by the Forest Department of Goa, and they would take you to the bottom of waterfalls through the famous Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary.

Group Discount

If you are not a group of seven people, then you have to form a group of seven people with other travelers. Please do not go to the jeep safari counter without a pre-formed group.

Closing Time

The Dudhsagar Waterfalls closes at 4:30 pm. Also, to make sure that all vehicles and tourists are not in the way of Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary (Mollem National Park), the sale of the tickets is closed around 2 pm.

45 Minute Jeep Safari

The jeep safari will originate at Mollem, and you will go through the Mollem National Park which is 45 minutes to an hour drive approximately

Precautions

A place known as Devil’s Canyon which is an eerie canyon of water is carved at the downstream of Dudhsagar Waterfalls. Devil’s Canyon is famous for its underwater currents, thereby, making it difficult and unsafe for even the strong swimmers to swim. Sunset point is a must visit which can be reached using the vehicle available for hiring at the sanctuary.

How to Reach Dudhsagar Water Falls

1. The first option is to take a morning train from Madgaon in Goa to Kulem and Then Start trekking 2. Alternatively, take a train to Castle Rock station and get off in the nearest tunnel to the Dudhsagar waterfalls. 3. Take a train to Sonalium Railway Station, which is hardly a few km from Dudhsagar waterfall.

The nearest railway stations to Dudhsagar waterfalls are Castle Rock and Kulem, both of which are around 14-15 km away. Here is the Timetable for trains that stop at these stations.

October to January:  Dudhsagar Falls is at its best during this period For Jeep Safari. Forest is lush green after monsoon season and water gets milkier at this time. 

February to Jun:  The forest starts getting dry but you enjoy a peaceful stay here during this time. It has a different color at this time But You will not get much Water in the Fall during this period. 

July to September:  It is monsoon time. Dudhsagar Falls is at its Best For Photography and Day Trekking.  Photographers and Selfie People roam around at this time.

Dudhsagar waterfall is one among the tallest falls in India. The fall looks more beautiful as it is surrounded by lush green western ghat. Dudhsagar fall is very close to Bhagwan Mahveer Sanctuary and National park in Mollem. Geographically the fall is between Goa and Karanataka border and officially falls in Sanguem Taluka of Goa. Gushing water from the height of nearly 310 m makes you feel as if milk is being poured from the top of the mountain. This spectacular looks makes it literally call a sea of milk “Dudhsagar”. Dudhsagar falls trek from goa are regularly organised by government of Goa. Many trains passes through through the fall but not many train stops at the Dudhsagar station. Though we hear about the fall becoming more beautiful during monsoon season, safest access to the waterfall is only during tourist season. Best time to visit is between months of October to May.

How to reach Dudhsagar Waterfall

There are many ways to reach Dudhsagar waterfall. Dudhsagar waterfall location is about 60km Panjim capital city of Goa..  Government of Goa runs 4X4 Jeep starting from kullem and follow until the bottom of the waterfall. Distance between kullem to Dudhsagar waterfall is approximately 10 km.  Jeep can take 30 min passing through dense jungle and couple of rivulets on the way. The journey becomes more fun as you encounter many different animals like Deer, monkey, beautiful bird and some rare species of animals. The Jeep will drop you close to the fall.  You will have to 2-3 minutes to reach the base of the fall. Department of Forest charge minimum fees to enter the forest area of Waterfall. You will also be charged for carrying professional cameras.

6.30 am – 9.00 am: transportation.

• Pickup from Panjim Bus station, Calangute, Baga, Arpora, Candolim, Senquerim, Saligao, Nagoa hotels only.
• For any other pickup location, please call us before booking online.
• Timings are strict, no refund in case you fail to turn up at the pickup point at the said time.

9.30 AM – 10.30 AM: Jeep Safari

10.30 am – 12.00 pm: enjoy the beauty of fall, 12.00 pm – 1.00 pm: dudhsagar to kullem, 1.15 pm – 2.00 pm: spice farm, 2.00 pm – 3.00 pm: spices & lunch, 3.30 pm – 6.30 pm: return.

• Seats are subjected to availability and will be confirmed only on 100% payments
• We are only service provider and book sightseeing tour for you. we don’t operate service of our own
• No Seat number are allocated, seats allocated as per availability at the respective boarding point
• Child above 5 years will be charged full
• No last moment changes in pickup point will be entertained.

Cancellation & Refund Cancellations

• Cancellation or rescheduling is not allowed within 12 hours of journey time.
• 50% of payments will be deducted if the confirmed ticket is cancelled.
• In-case of Bus AC failure, Rs.50 will be returned back through bank transfer only.
• Full refund in-case of Bus breakdown or cancellation of bus due to unavoidable circumstances
• Refund if any will be processed in your account in 7 working days.

I took this trip during my last visit to Goa. After seeing in Chennai Express i was very excited to see it my sef and i wasnt disappointed. The dudhsagar waterfall tour in Goa is must go place. It awesome trip today ?, first day of Dudsagar waterfall. Super feeling. The fall looks huge and fun going through rivulets by Jeep. Jeep safari from Collem to reach fall is a different experience. Food at spice plantation was also good. Spices tour wasnt so good but overall had pleasant trip. One must try Dudhsagar waterfall trip in Goa during your meet.

I took this trip of Dudhsagar waterfall in Goa. Bus was delayed by 30min but everything else was up to the mark. My first experience with Goa Tours company was good. I will recommend them to my friends surely.

Such a big que for any day trips is crazy and people waiting to get jeep to reach fall is something I have never seen before . Long ques for jeep ride at Colleem a small village near Goa Karnataka border. We were woken up by tour operator at4.30am and had to report the place befor 7 am. Totally crazy as ticket counter started late at 8.30am. Little delay and we would have missed the booking as there were already enough people to Book limited jeeps run by forest department -govt of Goa. Bumpy ride to fall by jeep is one rare experience . Spice plantation with buffet lunch in Sahyadri spice was mouth watering. Loved it recommended

Lovely trip, excellent use of the day. The waterfall is gorgeous, plenty of Monkeys around and the trip there with the jeep is interesting. Then the lunch in the spice plantation, where you get to shop and see the spices grown locally. The staff was amazing, pick up from various spots in Goa and everything is well planned to work smoothly. Highly recommend.

Dudhsagar Falls

Nestled high in the Western Ghats, Dudhsagar is one of India’s tallest waterfalls. One can reach the southern village of Kolem early by 9 am and start the 4-hour trek to Dudhsagar Falls. How to Reach Dudhsagar Falls ?

People go crazy to treat their eyes by watching this cascading effect of falls in all seasons. This waterfall is a part of the Bhagwan wildlife sanctuary as the background of this waterfall is covered with complete greenery of the forest.

Situated in the Sanguem Taluka along the Mandovi River , reaching here is not a challenging task. Due to massive tourist attractions , the commute here is comfortable and frequent. No matter where you stay, you can always find a way to reach here.

• From Panaji – Dudhsagar is only 71 km from Capital Panjim . Hence, you can either book a cab or self-drive . Or if your pocket is a bit low, you can board a bus to Tambdi Surla . From here, book a taxi and roll over to the falls.
• From Mumbai – by road , the distance between the two is 596 Km, whereas the train route is 439 km. You can either reserve a train seat, book a cab, or bus, or self-drive by car . Best advised is the train route, which takes 13 hours approx. and costs around 2200-2700 rupees.
• From Chennai – Mao Vasco Exp is the easiest route to Dudhsagar falls. The train runs only on Friday and passes through this falls. Though it has no official stop at falls, it sometimes makes a stop for tourists. But if you don’t get this opportunity, you can stop at Kulem Railways Station. It is the nearest railway station to the waterfall and is only 15 km away. Book a cab and reach back here.
• From Bangalore – you can either go by the train route to Castle Rock and further to Kulem. Otherwise, you can enjoy the distance in your own car and with your own people. It takes 12 hours by car to reach Calangute . From here, the Dudhsagar falls is 85 km, which means another 2.5 hours.
• From Pune – If planning a trip from Pune, board a train and reach Kulem. From here, you can book a cab or bus and reach the destination.

For first-timers, the waterfall is a great place to visit through an organised trip. The rail bridge that runs across the top of dudhsagar waterfall is a great vantage point to view the gushing water spiraling down the mountainside. Waterfall Timings

Due to safety purposes and other reasons, the falls, as well as the Bhagwan Wildlife sanctuary (Mollem National Park), do not remain open throughout the day. The gate to the wildlife sanctuary opens at 7 in the morning. At 5’o clock in the evening, the gate closes (Last updated on April 2024).
