All travelers allowed to travel to the EU and associated states visa-free will require an ETIAS authorization. This also includes US citizens.

If your country has a visa-free agreement with the EU, you are allowed to spend up to 90 days within a period of 180 days. Keep in mind that the countdown starts on the date of your entry and ends on the date of your exit. So, for example, if you fly into an EU country on the first of the month and exit on the 15th, it will count as a 15-day stay.

There are 63 countries in the world that have a visa-waiver agreement with the EU . If your country is part of this agreement, you can travel to Europe visa-free. You do, however, need to show the following to be allowed into the Schengen Zone and associated states.

• A valid passport: Your passport should have a validity of at least 3 months at the time of your entry into Schengen and be less than ten years old.
• Purpose of entry: In addition to your passport, you also require documents that prove that you are there for tourism purposes. These documents can include invoices for hotel reservations and booked tours. 
• Proof of financial means: You also need to carry documents proving that you can support yourself during your stay in the region.

European Delight

Excellent tour that covered pretty much all the hotspots along the way. Nice and clean hotels with the exception of one. Coaches were clean and the drivers carried water bottles in the fridge... you can get one for a Euro if needed. Europamundo's own coaches have vending machines in the bus and you can fetch water, coke, and other drinks. Most of the coaches did not have usb charging points which is a big negative as we spent lot of time on the road and phone needed charging. Tour guides were awesome, knowledgeable, and accommodative. Having exclusive local guides at some places was great as we got direct knowledge and in-depth history of the place during the visits. Overall it was a great experience on a 17 days tour from Rome to Paris.

Great diversity of countries and cities but WAY too fast paced. One night in Slovenia and Poland was ridiculous and with travel time some days we spent less than 15 hours in the city. The guide was a but inexperienced so we didn't have a good description of some of the cities. Great way to make friends and see cities! Would recommend going end of August or later as it was still very hot going through the cities!!

Great experience. The tour guide was very friendly and the driver was excellent.

Zagreb to Athens: Adriatic & Ancient Capitals

This trip was overall in one word... amazing. The destinations covered were amazing & beautiful. It was handy to have everything sorted out : the accommodation (mix of hostels & hotels), the transportation and many of the activities. Most of the places stayed did not have breakfast, but it was stated clearly that they wouldn't. Some of the places that had breakfast included a selection of breads, cereals and coffee - everything that you need. Croatia blew my mind.. The Croatia part of the tour was very in depth and I have a great idea of what the country is all about now & I also want to go back to see more in the future - The tour goes to cities, lakes, medieval villages, islands, beaches and has stops along the way to each usually. Note that on occasion there are stops along the way & the activity isn't always included in the tour.. I found that out the hard way in Albania. The transportation was a mix of using local transportation, personal buses and ferries. Note that in Albania MOST places do not accept credit card & we had troubles using the bank machines to take out cash.. Albania accepts the Euro as currency so make sure you have lots before you go (I also found out the hard way and didn't have any Euros as i Spent them in Montenegro) The groups for the tour are really what made the trip amazing.. Both groups were super friendly & alot of fun.. being a smaller tour and with the age restrictions it did make for a better trip because we were all around the same age, so had more in common! It was great having a smaller group too because we all became closer & spent even the "free time/Free days" together doing the activities. Our guide Marco was with us for both parts of the tour and overall he did a great job covering the information needed and I felt like we could always go to him if we had questions about anything. That was a part of the tour that I liked: knowing that I had someone to ask questions to who knows the area..Overall, HIGHLY recommend doing BOTH parts of this tour, as Many who didn't do the 2nd leg of the trip were super jealous and wishing they did! You won't regret doing this tour!!

Explore the Balkans

I have lived in Europe and this area of the continent is just completely different than the west. There is so much recent history in this area. The great thing about touring this area is that travel days are very short. Our guide was amazing and it was only her first year! For a basix level trip the hotels were definitely above the standard I expected. I would absolutely go back to this area again.

Highlights of Ireland & Scotland

This was a fantastic tour. It was fast paced, and I was able to see a lot of Ireland and Scotland's highlights from the countryside's to the cities and villages. Our tour guide and bus driver were fabulous and quite entertaining.

What people love about Budget Tours in Europe

Overall the guides and drivers were excellent - in their knowledge, driving safety, preparing the group for activities that were next on the list. The only down time during the day was some of the distances between stops. But not an issue as we were well aware of that before hand. A good value for the cost!!

So honestly when we were assigned to this company through Tour Radar and looked at the reviews we were a little worried. I tried to hope for the best and assume that people who DO NOT have great experiences write more reviews. I was absolutely correct. We had AMAZING tour guides. Knowledgeable, kind, helpful. I think this company does an amazing job of moving people from one destination to another especially when it seems that itineraries overlap offering everyone the trip they desire. The hotels far outweighed our expectations. Of course there were small hiccups with time losses and changes in plans for the day but for the price and to get a brief view of Europe I would call it an outstanding tour.

The tour is generally good. I wish though that more time are given to explore major places. Some places can be skipped already since there was nothing much to see.

I am planning to take a Eurpoe Tour Package from MakeMyTrip for 2014. Can anyone share their experince on the europe they did with MMT.

Overwhelmingly, the participants on this forum are independent travelers who do their homework and make their own travel arrangements which, in the overall, are far more economical than any package.

That does, however, come with much experience,so, sometimes, a package is preferable for those without experience in research and planning.

Much depends on your priorities.

Do you wish to see as much as possible in as little time as possible?

Are you willing to pay a premium for an escorted tour versus planning on your own?

Have you added up the costs of the components of the tour independently and compared those to the cost of the tour. Is the extra worth the "extras"?

Regardless, you should post a link to the specific tour you are considering if you wish others to assist you in evaluating it.

I've noticed that a lot of these tours choose hotels far away from the city center. I think it's hard to get a feeling for a city when you're staying in a suburb or near the airport and have to commute to the destination every day.

Can you give us an idea of the length of this tour and what cities it covers?,

Get yourself a single ticket for a high-speed train as it works out cheaper than buying rail tickets about a couple of months ahead. A rail pass is always the more economical option in case you are buying your ticket a couple of days in advance or even on the day of the journey. Q. Is train or flight a better and cheaper way to travel around in Europe? A. The railway connectivity across destinations in Europe is stellar and is most definitely the better way of travelling across the continent. Also, railway stations are always in the city centre and from one city centre to the other in under five hours is not a bad way of getting around. Add to it the stunning scenery along the way. But for very long journeys, opt for a flight as it is would be more economical, and any day faster. There are several budget airlines operating flights within Europe and you can conveniently fly one of them. Q. How about driving around in Europe? A. Roads across Europe are in great condition and offer an unparalleled scenery. It is in fact the best way to get to smaller towns, hill stations and the countryside. However, you must avoid driving in main, big cities because of the chaotic traffic, when a train or a bus is a better way of getting around. You will need an international drivers licence to be able to drive around in Europe. Also you need to study the driving rules of different European cities thoroughly before getting behind the wheel and zipping through. Q. Is it safe to leave my backpack or luggage behind during the day on a hostel stay? A. Yes, most hostels provide lockers for you to stash your belongings because only you would have the key to that lock. There are several hostels that have luggage rooms allowing you to keep your belongings in case you arrive ahead of your check-in time. Even hotels have this facility including letting you keep your bags for a while after you have checked out. Q. How much should I be packing for my Europe trip? A.
