(All activities listed below will happen, but maybe not necessarily in the order stated! Be prepared – spontaneous changes are part of the fun and surprise activities are guaranteed! There may be some optional excursions like camel riding in the desert or perhaps watching traditional Sufi Dancing that will be offered to guests when they are in Egypt that are not listed in the itinerary.)

Day 1: Arrive Cairo/Welcome Dinner

Day 2: giza plateau/sphinx / great pyramid.

We study them and pay particular attention to the Sphinx. There is nothing more awe inspiring than to stand between the mighty paws of the Sphinx and gaze up at its wondrous face as the first rays of sunshine break over the horizon. We will greet the Sun with an ancient ritual just before dawn. Our guide, who is an encyclopaedia of Egyptology, will give us detailed examinations of various controversial theories surrounding these amazing structures. After an invigorating Sunrise, we are back to our hotel for breakfast at the Mena House.

This afternoon, we have a special private visit in the Great Pyramid where we will explore the chambers before a guided meditation in the Kings Chamber. We will be tapping into the energy and harmonic resonances of this mighty structure. Here, we unite our life story with the story of those who have come before us and those who will come after as we begin our journey to becoming more aware of our powerful inner selves. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 3: Cairo Museum and Walking Tour of Old Cairo

One of the many highlights of this museum is the visit to the treasures of Tut-Ankh-Amun. Stand before the breathtakingly beautiful gold death mask and marvel at the treasures that travelled with this boy king to the afterlife. There will be time to explore the museum on your own and to feel the sometimes eerie presence of energies from the past that still linger within the statues.

After our visit to the Museum, we will take some time out to visit the local shopping area for some retail therapy Egyptian style and we will also visit the famous Khan el Khalili Bazaar in Downtown Cairo After lunch in a beautiful restaurant downtown we will take a walking tour of old Cairo visiting the Alley of the Tent Makers as well as many other iconic Coptic and Islamic sites. (Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 4: Luxor/ Karnak Temple / Luxor Temple

Tonight we visit the Luxor Temple. This temple really comes to life under lights at night. Feel the powerful energy within you as you wander through the ancient hallways touching the stones as you go. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 5: Abydos and Dendera Join Nile Cruise

Check into your Nile River Cruise Boat. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

Day 6: Hatshepsut Temple / Valley of the Kings /West Bank

Day 7: edfu temple of horus / kom ombo / aswan.

Relax on deck as we sail to Kom Ombo. There, we visit the only dual temple in Egypt. This dramatic temple poised between the edge of the river and the encroaching desert sand was dedicated to two gods – Sobek the crocodile god of strength, fortitude, fertility and rebirth, and Horus the hawk-headed son of Isis and Osiris. Sail to Aswan City which is considered to be everyone’s favourite Egyptian city. Beautiful and peaceful, it is called the “Pearl of Egypt”. We will visit the Nubian markets. (Breakfast, Lunch Dinner)

Day 8: Aswan / Philae Temple / Isis / Abu Simbel

Day 9: abu simbel/aswan.

After breakfast we return to Aswan. Aswan city is considered to be everyone’s favourite Egyptian city because it is beautiful and peaceful. It is called the “Pearl of Egypt”. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 10: Aswan to Cairo

Day 11: sakkara.

On the way back to Cairo we visit one of the carpet schools where Egyptian children make handmade carpets out of their own imagination. Tonight we will meet for our farewell dinner to share our experiences in Egypt. (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)

Day 12: Cairo / Departure Home

Day 2: Sphinx, Giza & Saqqara Pyramids

After breakfast, join your private tour guide to start your visit to The pyramids of Giza (the pyramids of kings Cheops , Chephren , Mekarynos, see the remains of the funeral temple of the same king, get inside one of the small pyramids of the Queens, and see the Sphinx). Egyptian Lunch in a countryside restaurant. Visit The pyramids of Saqqara ( The visual presentation of Sakkara, the step pyramid of king Djoser-the very first pyramid, the museum of Imhotep , the tomb of the high official Kagemni, the pyramid of king Titi, the pyramid of king Unas, and see the pyramids of Dahshur from a distance. Attend the sound and light show at the Giza area (optional). Transfer to the train station for your sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner onboard your sleeper train.

Day 3: Aswan Sightseeing

Breakfast on board your sleeper train. Arrive in Aswan to start your visit with your private tour guide to the High dam (which was built in 1960 to control the annual flood of the Nile, and arrange the agriculture process). Visit the Unfinished obelisk (a huge obelisk dating back to the 18th dynasty that was left unfinished). Check in our Nile cruise for Lunch. Afternoon, take a felucca ride around Elephantine Island and sail past the Agha Khan mausoleum. Dinner on board.

Day 4: Aswan / Sailing to Kom Ombo & Edfu:

Breakfast onboard your cruise. Relax while sailing along the fertile river Nile from Aswan to Luxor with two stops to visit the unusual double temple of Kom Ombo (dedicated to two gods, the falcon god Horus, and the crocodile god Sobek). Visit by a horse carriage to the temple of Edfu (dedicated to the falcon god Hours, and the second-largest temple in Egypt. Lunch and Dinner onboard your cruise.

Day 5: Luxor sightseeing

After Breakfast on board your cruise, start our tour to the west bank of Luxor to visit: The Valley of the Kings (home of 65 tombs of the kings of the 18th to 22nd dynasties), The Valley of the queens (accommodates the tombs of queens from the new kingdom ), The modern-looking temple of queen Hatshepsut (she ruled over Egypt for 19 years as a king). The colossi of Memnon (originally belong to king Amenhotep the 3rd). Back to your cruise for Lunch. Afternoon, we start our tour to visit the Karnak temples (the largest complex of temples in Egypt originally attached to Luxor temple by an avenue of sphinxes). Visit Luxor temple (which was built by the kings of the middle and the new kingdom). Dinner would be onboard your cruise ship.

Day 6: Cairo Sightseeing Tours

After breakfast on board your cruise ship. Transfer to Luxor airport for your flight to Cairo. Arrive in Cairo, welcome, meet, and assist. Start your tour to the Egyptian museum (more than 120,000 pieces from ancient Egypt, plus the amazing collection of king Tut Ankh Amen from the 18th dynasty, and the ancient mummies). Lunch would be in a tourist restaurant by the river Nile. Hamada was incredible! So knowledgeable and kind. He had information about every item, street corner, and relic we looked at. Any questions we had, he had answers! Our tour included a Nile cruise, day trip to Alexandria, several days in Cairo and the best time in Sharm El Sheik. It all went off without a hitch! Our main guide, Ramy, greeted us right away with a welcoming smile and he took care of our visa and our luggage and without us lifting a finger, we were off to our hotel. Our time in Cairo and Alexandria was guided by the beautiful Mervat, a former teacher who loved Cairo and it showed!
