Enjoy delicious Devonshire Tea & Bbq lunch whilst cruising the majestic Maroochy River. You will find entertaining and informative commentary focusing on local, cultural, historical and current affairs. Spend an hour at the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary showcasing awe inspiring displays of healthy extensive mangrove forests, leading into Maleluca, Casurina and Rainforest. All of these are accessible by a wide sturdy boardwalk. See multiple species of fauna abound including the fiddler crab as well as prolific birdlife during the Eco Cruise. Join the adventure which is available on the last Friday of every month except during December.

Devonshire Tea to Cotton Tree - 2 Hours

Set sail with fresh baked scone, jam and cream in one hand and a cuppa tea in the other. You’ll have the opportunity to cruise past Chambers, Goat & Channel Islands, then disembark on the north shore to stroll (or gallivant) to the pinnacle of the Cotton Tree Estuary, Pincushion. We encourage our participants to explore to their hearts content in an adventure of a lifetime. Also take this opportunity to appreciate Maroochydore from the river side.

*Morning Tea to Cotton Tree will start on the first Thursday of September (September 1, 2020). Please check our website regularly to get updates.

Nature Cruises will be available every 1st Wednesday of the month.

What’s a better way to celebrate momentous events in your life than with a nature escapade with people you hold dear? Whether it’s a birthday, corporate gathering, anniversary, or any other type of party, we’ll make sure you’ll have a blast on the MV Rainbow (MVR) and the MV Maroochy (MVM). At Cruise Maroochy, we have the benefit of two very different boats, with different liquor licences, for your private charter. This gives you options and diverse experiences. Both vessels look amazing when decorated in theme as well. Please note there is NO MIX & MATCH between the two options, this is due to Liquor Licensing (OLGR) and their governing laws as well as the vessels physical parameters. Call now to discuss your special event! Don't delay, the important part of the plan is to save the date, then work on the details.

The MV Maroochy, (MVM) Is the Classic Cruiser

MVM is a 16-metre, double deck catamaran. The lower level deck is fully enclosed with wonderful river views while the upper deck is open air with a third of its large deck under shade. It is suitable for special occasions such as weddings, engagements and large gatherings. You can also celebrate those special birthdays and anniversaries, as well as corporate events or a lovely way to celebrate a memorial in this boat. If wedding bells are imminent, ask for our Wedding Package. Consider a different angle on tying the knot with emphasis on a unique experience for a refreshingly low budget. The boat’s capacity is a minimum of 20 adults and maximum of 50 pax for seated meals & 70 pax for casual mingling event. Just like a floating hotel, the Maroochy is a licensed venue that offers a range of beer, cider, wine, spirits and cocktails available (cocktails upon request). Drinks are either purchased by guests or a bar tab may be organised by the event organiser that is strictly settled at the end of the cruise. Also like a hotel, food, utensils and beverages on this vessel are supplied by Cruise Maroochy. We have a variety of dining styles available to suit all kinds of cruising parties and events. The MV Maroochy choice is uninterrupted cruising on the Maroochy River as far as possible in the north and south. The Skipper will plot the best course for the day, taking everything including tides & hire time. Please remember that all information should be given at least two weeks in full prior to your event.

Catering Options:

It is Cruise Maroochy Policy to provide the best quality of products and produce available. We work hard to preserve our reputation for providing delicious and fresh, real food.

1. Supreme BBQ: Quality grass fed steaks, marinated chicken tenderloins and gourmet sausages, laden with your choice of mushroom or pepper sauce. Fresh gourmet salads will include garden salads, potato salad & tropical pineapple salad. Dinner rolls & butter.

2. Spit Roast: Succulent beef and pork carved fresh from the spit, served with Idaho potatoes and sour cream, homemade gravy, apple sauce, mustard and horseradish. Fresh gourmet salads will include garden salads, potato salad & tropical pineapple salad. Dinner rolls & butter.

3. Seafood & Charcuterie Plate - 3 oysters, 4 prawns, 1/2 Moreton bay bug; Fresh gourmet salads will include garden salads, potato salad & tropical pineapple salad. Dinner rolls & butter.

4. Mooloolaba Prawns & Salad - Imagine half a kg of prawns with a delicious cocktail sauce, surrounded by a sea of sumptuous salad & baker’s fresh bread.

There are 4 components to hiring the MV Maroochy.

1. The MV Maroochy HIRE is available for a minimum of 2 hours and a maximum of 5 hours

2. Please choose 1 meal option for your event:

• Supreme BBQ
• Mooloolaba Prawns & Salad
• Seafood & Charcuterie Plate
• PRAWN & OYSTER Cocktail
• DESSERT: 1 choice per 20 pax
• Cheese Cake, Fresh Fruit Salad or Pavlova & Berries. All served with fresh cream

3. Do you need:

• Table linen?
• Are you bringing a cake? Cake serving & clean-up cost applies
• Do any guests have dietary requirements? Gluten free, vegan or vegetarian available
• Please advise of firm numbers, special dietary requirements a minimum of two weeks prior to cruise.                                                                 
• The bar is either pay as you go or a bar tab can be organised prior to the event.
• Please advise of special requests at least two weeks prior and we shall endeavour to stock your preferences. (eg. my family and friends like XYZ beer)

4. Music Options on the MVM

• You may hire your own musician - Musician(s) or their sound tech MUST make an appointment to view the boat, power outlets etc, at least two weeks prior to your event.
• Bring your own iPod with playlist to plug in to the vessels sound system.

MV Rainbow (MVR) Is Our Casual Cruiser – BYO Option

The vessel is a 12M single deck cat. Think floating picnic. This watercraft can accommodate a maximum of 35 passengers  Bring your own food, drinks, utensil, plates, ice, eskies—everything  you need. You also have the freedom to bring your own music to connect to our speakers. You may utilise the 200lt esky that is secured to the centre of the MVR. Remember to bring up the ice. We can organise ice at your prior request. The MVR has NO POWER available. Our previous customers have had successful cruising on the Rainbow with these catering ideas: Anti Pasto Platters, Cold Meat & Salads, Chicken & Champagne/beer/bevs. The Rainbow Private Charter can be hired per hour (minimum of 2 hours – maximum of 5 hours).

Important Steps to Take

Choose the style of cruise you are after, the casual Rainbow or the classic Maroochy.

Advise of your ideal date & time to cruise at your earliest convenience by phone or email.This will tentatively hold your date subject to availability. I will be in contact as soon as possible to discuss other date options if your first choice is not available, so please let me know your mobile phone number.

50% deposit of private charter & catering costs will confirm booking.

The secrets of the majestic Maroochy are revealed in sharing the beauty and serenity in Mother Nature as well as the ancient and recent local history of this mesmerising waterway in an entertaining commentary and visual magnificence of the surrounds. You can relax in glorious surrounds of the unadulterated Maroochy River Ecosystem, taking in the cathartic serenity of the beautiful environment.
