Wanderlands Bali & Lombok - 13 Days

Ich mochte underen Teamleader (Zio) sehr. Er konnte gut unterscheiden, wann er einen Spass machen konnte und wann es ernst war. Er war immer da, wenn man in gebraucht hatte. Die Hotel und Hostels waren alles wirklich top mit einer guten Lage. Die Ausflüge war gut durchdacht und haben alles Spass gemacht. Das einzige was ich mir noch etwas mehr gewünscht hätte, wäre etwas mehr von der Kultur mitzubekommen. Wir haben einiges gesehen und gehört aber ich hätte gerne noch mehr gehört/gesehen. Ich würde die Tour und Zio auf jedefall weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank.

Bangkok to Singapore

Had a lovely time with Ae our tour leader. The activities were amazing and the sites were very beautiful. We were busy all day everyday with things to see and do! Never a dull moment. Ae was an amazing tour leader! Very calm, patient and helpful. She’s quite funny and kept the group laughing. Loved her positive upbeat energy and just had an amazing time! The optional Phi Phi Island tour is not to be missed, inner tubing down the lake at the rainforest hotel and the eco bike ride in Malaysia

Japan One Life Adventures - 10 Days

Overall a wonderful jam-packed ten days full of little tastes of Japan. It's an absolute massive amount of things to do for ten days, expect to be waking up early and coming to the hostel late with the amount of things this tour provides. One moment you're exploring the streets of Shibuya to shuffling your way through food stall to food stall. If you only have a short period of time to explore Japan and you're not sure what to try out then this tour is definitely a good start, My tour guide Haley have lots of recommendations to things to do, good things to eat depending on your requirements. If however you prefer taking your time to digest the scenery of Japan and be able to explore more than what th tour provides, it's definitely worth looking at other options. This Tour definitely provides a wide range of things to do to immerse yourself into the culture and history of Japan. I definitely recommend at least a few days in Japan outside of the tour to give yourself a break from activity to activity, and be able to fully take a breath at the life that you're surrounded in, outside of that I definitely 100% recommend going on this tour.

Becca was my tour leader for cambodia, it was such an amazing trip! You could tell Becca really knew her stuff about Cambodia, it's people and culture, she even taught us a few words along the way! daily activities and accommodation was excellent, clean, cultural and fun! all questions and queries were promptly answered along the way, 100% recommended. my only improvement would be is that a lot of the food on the tour was western and I would prefer more local delicacy!

Bali One Life Adventures - 12 Days

Overall very good well put together tour, amazing tour and so much to see whilst travelling around Bali and Gili T. The hotels have been of a good standard and breakfast every day was lovely, some activities may have been good in the afternoon to give the option for a slower start in the morning and the hike was more moderate to hard in difficulty, there are however options for a motorbike at an additional cost. Josh was absolutely fantastic from start to finish, attentive, friendly and patient. Helped form the group and looked after us all. We visited so many locations it’s a shame we couldn’t have stayed in some longer. I will definitely be visiting Bali again in the future

Thai Intro 18 Day

I have just done the 18 day Thailand trip and it was honestly the trip of a lifetime. It was so well organised, incredible value for money and the trips/ activities included were amazing. It was made even more special by our group leader Dan Woodward who’s knowledge of Thailand was extensive, he was such good fun, and the most kind person. Couldn’t have asked for more from a group leader, thank you Dan!!

Glimpse Of Indochina In 16 Days (Vietnam,Cambodia,Thailand,Laos)

Our days in Vietnam and Cambodia were amazing! All the tours within these 2 countries were incredible and very enjoyable, Our tour guides in Vietnam, Larry, Felix and Anthony spoke English very well and were very helpful in solving any issues we had. Halong Bay and Lan Ha bay was a site to behold. Kayaking, swimming, fishing , and kareoke were very enjoyable while on the La Pandora cruise. The cooking lesson needs to be improved and not be given by the tour guide. Very disappointing that Taichi was cancelled. The Bavi Eco tour was excellent and cooking lesson with Mrs Chin was fun and well worth it. The cycling component in of the tours were very enjoyable. Cambodia was another unforgettable experience. We were on a private tour with just my friend and I and we couldn't ask for a better guide in Mr, Sok Vanna (we called him Vanna as he explained this to us). He was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and he was willing to make changes to our schedule as we requested. He is a very humble guy and decent. I was not impressed with Thailand as we only had half a day to tour a temple and we were left on our own device the next day to entertain ourselves. I didn't enjoy being in Bangkok as it was full of high rises. Being out of the city would have been a better option. Regarding our guide, he is a very intelligent man but he was not a good fit for us. His mastery of the English language could have been better. We found that we had to ask questions instead

Cambodia Adventure

The tour was somewhat different more than expected in many respects. On the good side Angkor Wat was spectacular and the down side too much overland travel in such a short time. Most hotels where a little iffy leaving much to be desired. The guide was excellent and facilitated easy border crossing access. Although I have slept in many uncomfortable places, other than experiencing Cambodia village life the homestay was not memorable. Rod Asher January 2019

What people love about Asia Tours

This tour gives and opportunity to travel by many types of vehicles for sight seeing. Accommodations are varied from hotels to resorts including spending night on raft-house or houseboat on river. The tour is well planned and conducted by efficient tour Chief Experience Officers (CEOs). Wish that the information on Optional Tours were more detailed in the brochures of descriptions of the tour.

This was my first time ever travelling without family and it was amazing! One of the best months of my life. Our CEO Tong was brilliant and full of knowledge about where we were going and what we would be doing. He made sure to have enough time for anyone and helped in anyway he could to make things run smoothly for everyone on tour including myself. If you go on this tour, make sure you ask for Tong or (Phanet Tep) as your CEO!

A group of MBA students from Salt Lake City visited Vietnam to explore its culture and business practices. They participated in various activities, such as visiting local businesses and startups, and historical landmarks.

Florida high school students traveled to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. They immersed themselves in the culture and history of these destinations while utilizing their language skills through Real Asia's language and culture activities, which were designed by Real Asia.

Another group of high school students from New York went to Southeast Asia. Throughout the trip, they gained a deeper understanding of the rich cultural diversity and broadened their cultural perspectives.

High school students flew to Vancouver, BC to learn about the Chinese community and gain cultural and language perspectives. During their trip, they visited the Chinatowns and the Sun Yat-Sen Garden, attended workshops, and practiced their language with locals.

Klook Plans Partnership with Thailand as the Country Skyrockets in Popularity

Thailand remains a strong destination post Covid. Tour operators are flocking to the country and playing a significant role in how travel evolves.

Klook, a leading platform for travel experiences in Asia, signed a letter of intent with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to boost experiences in the country. The company is hoping to double the number of bookings it has for tourism packages to Thailand this year.

Klook says it is focusing on events, from Muay Thai matches to music festivals to Michelin visits and river cruises. The collaboration should have a particular impact on ticketing, as it allows the company to offer an integrated booking experience to major festivals and top attractions. 

Klook is also planning to promote the less obvious attractions and support small to medium operators by providing digitalization tools that can bring offerings online and showcase them to a global audience. 

Thailand Gaining in Popularity

Thailand is a long-time travel favorite and it bounced back strong after COVID. Klook says the country has had a 44% growth in foreign tourist arrivals over the past year and a Travel Pulse survey shows that travelers are looking to increase their target budgets for Thailand in 2024 by up to 50%. 

The Tourism Authority of Thailand conducted its own survey echoing these results . They found that tourists are spending more on luxury accommodations despite higher airfares and that the use of online platforms for travel arrangements is rising, with tour operators “still playing a significant role.”

Other tour operators, such as EF World Journeys, which offers educational tours, say Thailand is a growing favorite for North American travelers and that it remains one of the top three most popular destinations in Asia. 

“Year-to-date, EF Go Ahead Tours has realized nearly 60% year-over-year growth in bookings to Thailand, adding several new tour offerings in the country to meet the demand in the region,” says Heidi Durflinger, President of EF World Journeys which operates two of their offerings.

“Based on our trending destinations data, which is based on thousands of demand indicators amongst younger adult travelers (18-35), tours in Thailand have been a consistent top 5 destination for bookings during Spring Break, but we are also seeing strong demand for Thailand from travelers seeking international beach vacations all year round,” said Heather Leisman, President, EF Ultimate Break.

We sent Ilya a  DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Moscow  to get his perspective on what it means to use a travel guide in his hometown.

Can you sum up Moscow?  Moscow is the capital of Russia. It is the largest and most populous city and the center of economy, politics, science, business and sport. Here historical traditions blend well with contemporary culture.

Can you sum up the people of Moscow?  Russia – a generous soul! Russians do everything with maximum commitment. We are friendly and welcoming, although at first glance we may seem gloomy and discontented.

What was the experience like looking through the DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Moscow ?  In fact, I was pleasantly surprised! I looked at and read it several times. The guidebook is complete with beautiful photographs and illustrations, lists all the main attractions and even places that are rarely mentioned in other guides. It highlights very large events, as well as the local holidays. Maximum comprehensive information on all aspects of life in the Russian capital!

Did you find anything new or inspiring about your area in the book?  Yes, of course! For myself, it emphasized a few new places that I have never been to and I’m going to go to those spots and make some great photos!

How did the guidebook influence the photos you went out to take of your area?  My house is far from the Kolomenskoye Park . I rarely go out to this wonderful place and do not know much about it. The guidebook allowed me to explore this park and I spent all weekend there.

Tell us about the photos you shot for this project:  I tried to choose different pictures. There are summer and winter pictures, there are historical buildings and modern architecture, there is a crowded place and there are quiet parks, there are daytime and sunset photos. I wanted to show the diversity of Moscow from all sides.

What is a perfect day in Moscow?  I certainly would suggest starting the day with a jog in a park, breakfast in one of the great cafes in the city center and then going to the Tretyakov Gallery or any other museum. Then I would suggest going sailing on the Moscow River!

What do you love about Moscow?  Moscow never sleeps. In contrast to many European cities and capitals, in Moscow everything is always open and working virtually around the clock. You will always find a place where you can drink, eat, take a walk or go to the gym, even late at night. Moscow has one of the most beautiful and cheapest metros in the world, which is now actively built and continues to grow.

What do you dislike? The typical problems of a megacity. Crazy rhythms of the city, social inequality, long-distances and over-population. Most of all I want to note the crazy car traffic as the number of cars continues to grow, which results in endless traffic jams at any time of the day, especially in winter.

What would be surprising about Moscow to an outsider?  Lack of bears in the streets, the blood of the residents is vodka and Red Square is not red. There are a large number of parks in Moscow, all very different and there are always events. I recommend visiting the most popular places for leisure – Gorky Park , Sokolniki , Izmailovo Park and Vorobiovi Gory .

Be sure to taste the Russian vodka with red or black caviar, bring home a souvenir doll or a cap with earflaps and always ride on the subway.
