CALENDAR: This is when and where the PDC European Tour events will be played in 2022

The 2022 PDC European Tour circuit consists of thirteen tournaments at the moment. Possibly a fourteenth tournament will be added to the European Tour calendar later.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the European Tour was almost at a standstill in the past two years. In 2020 only four Euro Tour tournaments took place, in 2021 even only two. When the corona situation allows, a full circuit will be played again in 2022.

PDC Calendar for 2022 released: More than 150 days of darts scheduled

European Tour but especially in Germany

Of the thirteen tournaments that have now been announced, seven will be played in Germany. The first three European Tour tournaments of the season in Riesa, Hildesheim and Munich, all take place in German cities. Later in the season events will be hosted in Leverkusen, Sindelfingen, Trier and Jena.

The other six European Tour tournaments will be held in six different countries. The Austrian Darts Open is hosted in Premstätten. The Czech Darts Open will be held in Prague, while the Dutch Darts Masters will be held in Zwolle. After the summer, other tournaments are on the calendar in Budapest (Hungary), Wieze (Belgium) and Gibraltar.

Structure of a European Tour tournament

The field of a European Tour tournament consists of 48 players. The top 16 of the Pro Tour rankings get an invitation and are automatically qualified for the second round. These seeded players have to win their second round to have their prize money count for the various rankings.

Also the two highest ranked players from the host country of a European Tour tournament are automatically qualified. For them the same rule applies as for the seeded players. They have to win their first round to get the prize money added to the ranking.

Furthermore, 24 spots are on offer at a qualifying tournament for all remaining PDC Tour Card holders. There are also a number of more qualifiers. Via a Host Nation Qualifier two players of the host nation can qualify. There is also a qualifier for players without a PDC Tour Card, where two spots can be earned. To participate in this event you must have participated in the Q-School. Finally there are qualifying tournaments for players from the Scandinavian countries and Baltic states (together one starting spot) and players from Eastern Europe (one starting spot).

European Championship in Dortmund

Prize money can be earned at each European Tour tournament. This ranges from £1,000 for a first round defeat to £25,000 for winning a tournament. All results are recorded in the PDC European Tour Order of Merit.

At the end of the season the 32 best players compete in the European Championship in Dortmund. This tournament is scheduled from October 27-30.

13 Euro Tour Events! – 2022 PDC calendar confirmed up to end of October

The 2022 PDC calendar will see over 150 days of darts played from January to October, including a return to a full programme of European Tour events and an expanded Women’s Series.

Following disrupted 2020 and 2021 campaigns, the European Tour will enjoy a return to 13 events across the continent in 2022, including first visits to Wieze, Belgium and Trier, Germany.

Seven events will be staged in Germany, along with visits to Hungary, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Austria, while the 13th event in Gibraltar will see a return to the Victoria Stadium.

Tickets are on sale now at www.pdc-europe.tv/tournaments .

Tickets for the respective events in 2020 will remain valid for 2022 in most cases. Ticket holders will shortly be informed about the validity of their tickets by PDC Europe via e-mail.

An expanded Women’s Series will see 20 events take place at venues in the UK and Germany, with places in TV events, including the 2022/23 World Championship on offer.

The Challenge and Development Tours will each return to unified tours of events featuring players from across the globe having been split into regions in 2021.

Following the conclusion of the 2021/22 World Darts Championship, focus moves to Qualifying Schools, which will be held in the UK and Germany from January 9-15, with two stages of play taking place at each venue.

Full entry details for Qualifying Schools will be published in due course.

The first televised event of the year will see The Masters take place from January 28-30 in Milton Keynes.

The Premier League campaign will begin in Cardiff on February 3 and reach its climax with the Play-Offs in Newcastle on May 26.

The UK Open will return to Butlin’s Minehead Resort, with the popular annual festival of darts set to take place from March 4-6.

The World Cup of Darts will take place in Frankfurt from June 16-19, before the world’s top stars head to Blackpool for the World Matchplay from July 16-24.

Amsterdam will once again play host to the World Series of Darts Finals from September 16-18, before the World Grand Prix returns to the Citywest Convention Centre, Dublin from October 2-8.

The top 32 players on the European Tour Order of Merit will travel to Dortmund for the European Championship from October 27-30.

Details of the final two months of the calendar, along with 2022 World Series of Darts event information, will be published in due course.

“It is with great excitement that we announce such a full 2022 PDC following the difficulties of the last two years,” said PDC Chief Executive Matthew Porter.

“In particular, it will be fantastic to see the popular European Tour return to full strength next year with a full 13 event campaign.

“We are also pleased to expand the Women’s Series, bringing it in line with our Challenge and Development Tours, as we continue to offer more opportunities to female players.”

Après plusieurs entraînements avec le reste de l'équipe, Kingsley Coman est tout proche du retour à la compétition avec le Bayern Munich . L'ailier français fera partie du groupe pour le Klassiker contre Dortmund ce samedi en Bundesliga.

"Kingsley est un facteur important pour nous. Il revient dans le groupe", a confirmé Thomas Tuchel , lors de la traditionnelle conférence de presse de veille de match ce vendredi.

Coman se trouve "en forme" après deux mois d'absence

Le 27 janvier, lors de la 19e journée du championnat d'Allemagne, Kingsley Coman s'était blessé sur l'action amenant l'ouverture du score du Bayern à Augsbourg (victoire 3-2), victime d'une déchirure du ligament latéral du genou gauche.

L'international français de 27 ans avait repris la course fin février et est revenu à l'entraînement collectif lors de la trêve internationale, au sein d'un groupe munichois réduit aux joueurs non retenus avec leurs sélections.

Kingsley Coman sera sur le banc pour la rencontre face au Borussia Dortmund. Son retour dans le groupe munichois est une bonne nouvelle pour le sélectionneur de l'équipe de France Didier Deschamps , alors que Coman avait raté la dernière fenêtre internationale avec les Bleus, avant l'annonce de la liste des 23 pour l'Euro (14 juin-14 juillet).

"C'est toujours difficile quand on est blessé, parce que l'on ne peut pas aider l'équipe. J'ai beaucoup travaillé pour revenir. Je me sens maintenant en forme. Je me réjouis de pouvoir me trouver à nouveau sur le terrain", a ainsi expliqué l'ailier tricolore formé au PSG sur le site du Bayern.

Kane apte, Neuer absent

Pour ce Klassiker, Thomas Tuchel devra se passer de son capitaine et gardien de but, Manuel Neuer (38 ans), victime d'une déchirure musculaire aux adducteurs au début du rassemblement de la sélection allemande et insuffisamment remis. En revanche, Harry Kane (30 ans) a pu augmenter sa charge de travail à l'entraînement au cours de la semaine et est disponible pour défier Dortmund. "Harry s'est entraîné complètement avec l'équipe hier. Et chaque jour il s'est toujours plus entraîné depuis lundi. Tout va bien, il va jouer", a expliqué Tuchel. Le capitaine de la sélection anglaise, auteur de 31 buts avec le Bayern lors des 26 premières journées de Bundesliga, s'était blessé le 16 mars à Darmstadt et n'avait pas pu jouer avec les Three Lions contre le Brésil et la Belgique. Pour la première fois depuis le printemps 2010, le Bayern et le Borussia Dortmund s'affrontent dans ce Klassiker sans que l'un des deux mastodontes du football allemand n'occupe la première place du championnat.

Deuxième, le Bayern est distancé de 10 points par le Bayer Leverkusen (60 contre 70), alors que le Borussia Dortmund n'est que quatrième avec 50 points, à la lutte avec Leipzig (49) et Stuttgart (56) pour les troisième et quatrième places, qualificatives pour la prochaine Ligue des champions.

2024 NEO.bet German Darts Grand Prix draw & schedule

Michael Smith will begin his defence of the NEO.bet German Darts Grand Prix against Cameron Menzies or Mike De Decker, with the draw and schedule for the Easter event confirmed.

Munich will play host to the second PDC European Tour event of 2024 over the Easter weekend, as 48 players battle it out for the £30,000 top prize from March 30-April 1.

This weekend’s action will see reigning champion Smith bidding to retain the title, with world number one Luke Humphries and Dutch superstar Michael van Gerwen among the other high-profile names in action.

Saturday’s first round - which will be broadcast through PDCTV , Viaplay and DAZN - will feature 16 matches across two sessions, as Germany's number one Gabriel Clemens takes on newly crowned UK Open champion Dimitri Van den Bergh in a headline tie.

Clemens' World Cup partner Martin Schindler will face Czech qualifier Vitezslav Sedlak, while Lukas Wenig will star on home soil against Ireland's former World Cup finalist Steve Lennon.

European Champion Peter Wright plays former Grand Slam winner Jose de Sousa, as five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld goes head-to-head with World Youth Championship runner-up Gian van Veen in an all-Dutch affair.

Former Masters champions Joe Cullen and Chris Dobey will also feature in Saturday's first round, with Cullen up against 2023 UK Open champion Andrew Gilding, while Dobey faces Sweden's Viktor Tingstrom.

Host Nation Qualifiers Michael Unterbuchner, Franz Roetzsch, Oliver Mueller and Matthias Ehlers will also be in first round action, with Unterbuchner pitted against World Matchplay champion Nathan Aspinall - a runner-up at this event in 2023.

The 16 seeded players will then enter the fray in Sunday’s second round, as Smith begins his title defence against Scottish star Menzies or in-form De Decker.

Top seed Dave Chisnall - a winner of three European Tour titles in 2023 - will face either Van den Bergh or Clemens, before Niels Zonneveld or Luke Woodhouse await Humphries, who lifted the title in 2022.

Third seed Gerwyn Price will play his Premier League rival Wright or De Sousa for a place in the last 16, while Australia's premier player Damon Heta has been handed a potential showdown against home hero Schindler.

Van Gerwen will also headline Sunday's action in Munich, and the world number two will open his bid for a fourth German Darts Grand Prix crown against his countryman Jeffrey de Zwaan or German hopeful Ehlers.

Van Gerwen's compatriot Dirk van Duijvenbode will kick off his campaign against Aspinall or Unterbuchner, with tenth seed Danny Noppert guaranteed a Dutch opponent in the shape of Van Barneveld or Van Veen.

James Wade and Daryl Gurney will battle it out for the right to play two-time European Champion Rob Cross, as Germany’s Ricardo Pietreczko prepares to take on either Ryan Joyce or Kevin Doets for a spot in Easter Monday's Finals Day.

Two-time World Champion Gary Anderson has withdrawn from the event due to an ongoing shoulder injury, and has been replaced by Luke Woodhouse from the Reserve List.

As a result, reigning Masters champion Stephen Bunting becomes the 16th seed, and his reward is a second round assignment against Roetzsch or Jermaine Wattimena.

Following Sunday’s second round, the last 16 will take place on Monday afternoon, before the tournament concludes with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in a bumper evening session.

Live coverage of all 2024 European Tour events will be streamed through Viaplay, and through DAZN for viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
