Sacred Journey Therapy (SJT) is a shamanic approach to CranioSacral Therapy. It is truly a holistic therapy that is very powerful and unique. It includes elements borrowed from Osteopathy, Massage, and traditional CranioSacral Therapy. SJT is widened by aspects of p arapsychology, trans-personal and traditional psychology, studies of consciousness, physics, metaphysics, spirituality, and shamanism.   CranioSacral Therapy has a psychodynamic approach of intertwining perception and intention with meditative use of the inner eye, inner ear, and empathic heart to communicate and heal the physical, emotional, mental, astral, and spiritual bodies. Teach deepening techniques for meditation and mindfulness, that they can use with their clients and themselves. Adding to a humanistic approach, we introduce new possibilities for exploring relationships on physical and energetic levels with an emphasis of working from the heart and intuition.

What is CranioSacral Therapy?

The craniosacral system includes the brain, the cerebrospinal fluid, the system of membranes inside the cranium, all 22 cranial bones, the spine and the sacrum. Craniosacral is based in Cranial Osteopathy, in the 1930s by an American osteopath (Bone Doctor) and visionary called William Garner Sutherland. Sutherland used his training paired with this intuition to heal. By making small subtle shifts in the body (muscles, fluids, bones, cerebral fluid, etc.; the body can heal from the inside out and return to it's natural rhythm. 

Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive, hands-on healing modality that focuses on the wave-like rhythmic pulse that goes through the entire body. This therapy stems from osteopathy, which is an approach that emphasizes the role of the musculoskeletal system in health and disease. CranioSacral Therapy releases restrictions around the brain and spinal cord, thus allowing our body to self-heal and self-correct. There are no side affects from CranioSacral Therapy; the practitioner creates a loving and safe environment for the client to begin their self-healing process. 

The Cranial Sacral wave is an intelligent form of communication, just as informative as the radial pulse is to the acupuncturist. It is one way that the soul has to express its views. A cranial therapist is trained to “palpate”, or feel with his or her hands, the motion of the Cranial Sacral system as a unified, integrated movement. The touch is extremely gentle and sensitive, and one is able to diagnose the movement of the system as a whole by locating critical points of restriction in the cranium.

Restrictions which result from injury, inflexibility of the joints of the spine and cranium, or from dysfunctions in other parts of the body can cause abnormal motion in the Cranial Sacral system. The abnormal motion leads to stresses in the cranial mechanism which can contribute to dysfunction and poor health, especially in the brain and spinal cord. The purpose of Cranial Sacral therapy is to enhance the functioning of this important system.

The Great Journey of Korean Catholicism: Andrea's Letter

Join us for an evening celebrating the unique aspects of Korean Catholicism, Korean choral music, and lyrical songs. The event will feature a special film screening of 'A Birth,' commemorating the 203rd anniversary of the birth of Father Kim Dae-geon, the first priest in Korea. This film, released in 2022, sheds light on the remarkable journey of Father Kim, who played a pivotal role in Koean Catholic history and was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage figure in 2021.

First PaTRAM Institute Moscow Choral Workshop Concludes

On the morning of September 2, 2015, 34 international guests gathered at the Moscow Podvorye of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra for a five day workshop and master class sponsored by the Patriarch Tikhon Russian American Music ( PaTRAM ) Institute. As guests of the Podvorye, they worked with PaTRAM Artistic Director, Vladimir Gorbik, and joined members of his renowned Male Choir. The workshop consisted of four days of rehearsals at the Podvorye, where Maestro Gorbik instructed the participants in the ethos, interpretation, and technical qualities of Russian sacred choral works. The participants enjoyed the unprecedented privilege of joining the Podvorye choir for the singing of the All Night Vigil and the Divine Liturgy held on September 5th and 6th.

The repertoire consisted of hymns by notable Russian composers such as Rachmaninoff, Chesnokov, Kastalsky, and Gretchaninoff. The group sang arrangements for small ensemble, mixed, and male choir. This unique program gave participants a first-hand experience of Russian sacred choral music and the “Lavra Style” from the very heart of this great tradition. It was fascinating to see how Gorbik interpreted the music, sometimes rather freely, to add a layer of profound and unexpected diversity to the fabric of sound. In particular, he wielded the basso profondo like an additional unwritten musical part, instructing them to sing in the low octave at certain special places, adding a whole new character to the musical line. One of these basses could sing so low and so loud that Gorbik told the Americans to listen carefully and remember it, because he was sure we had never heard such sounds before in our lives!

The workshop concluded with our participation in the Saturday and Sunday services, which were immensely beautiful. In addition we were offered VIP tours of Christ the Savior Cathedral, the Kremlin and the Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra, gaining access to areas not normally open to tourists. We very much look forward to seeing more such events in the future!
