BLEACHERS IN CONCERT: Indie pop outfit Bleachers is the latest project from Jack Antonoff, the talented singer and songwriter best known for his work with the band Fun. With Bleachers, Antonoff builds on the anthemic pop sound that elevated Fun to superstar status by expanding his palette to include more electronic textures and cutting-edge production techniques. Fun is known for performances that live up to their name, and Antonoff's live show with Bleachers is no different. Ticket buyers will see fan favorites like "I Wanna Get Better" and "Like a River Runs" get the full live treatment as Bleachers hits the road in 2014 for a string of highly anticipated festival appearances. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT: New Jersey-born Jack Antonoff began working on his side project Bleachers while on the road with indie superstars Fun in early 2013. For nearly a year he kept the project under wraps until he launched his debut single "I Wanna Get Better" in February 2014. The track peaked at No. 2 on the US Alternative Songs chart, generating significant buzz around the project. Antonoff has stated that he remains fully committed to Fun, and plans to work around that band's schedule as he begins to tour in support of Bleachers. With his debut full-length Strange Desire hitting shelves in 2014, Antonoff has Bleachers fans chomping at the bit to catch him at his upcoming shows.

Incredible Night of True Fans

Wow - what an amazing night. Being such a small venue and tickets being accessible by being on Bleachers mailing list - it was all big time fans who knew the stories and lyrics and the band. Made for a special evening for sure. Jack is a fantastic front man. Watching all the band switch instruments and move around was simply awe-inspiring. So much talent on the stage. Can't wait to see them in June!

No tickets to see them 😭😭

I can’t believe NJ tickets are sold out. I miss the opportunity to see my favorite one

HUGE fan - but normal people. Not stalker weirdos

We’re huge fans will do anything to get tickets (we’re not weirdos). Just love your music ranging from Chinatown to me and Julio ). We’re normal people, verified Taylor fans, and (not stalker). Nice family. We live in Westchester. Would love to attend NJ concert- just want to find decent tickets. If you look me up on Spotify Natalia Castillo Mulé you’ll see were a 0.001 % fan. Hope to hear back from you.

One of the best concerts I attended! Great music, great atmosfere.

unbelievable

the energy is so amazing i love this band so much <33

life changed, mind blown, heart full

I saw them at the Forum in LA in July and it was truly the best experience of my life. They played for two and a half hours (!!!) and I was on my feet and screaming the entire time. If Jack wasn't tired, I couldn't be either. They played a huge variety of songs. The props and showmanship were amazing. They sound exactly like the album, but better.

all things go 2022

one of the best concerts i have ever been to. must see again asap, jack please add some tour dates 🙏🙏🙏

A Blast in Portland

See Bleachers at Thompson Point in Portland ME is a must. What a night!

Bleachers Announce 2024 U.S. Tour Dates

By Matthew Strauss

Bleachers Jack Antonoff

Bleachers have announced a 2024 tour of the United States. Beginning in May, Jack Antonoff and his band will play From the Studio to the Stage shows with support from Samia . See Bleachers’ tour dates below.

A dollar from each ticket sale will go to the Ally Coalition , the nonprofit organization that Antonoff co-founded with his sister, Rachel, in 2013 to support LGBTQ+ youth. On Tuesday, December 19, Bleachers will perform at the Ally Coalition’s ninth annual talent show at New York University’s Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts.

In a statement about ticket sales, Jack Antonoff said:

jack here. we know there’s lots of issues and confusion when buying tickets to shows. want to ensure you we’ve done and will always do everything in our power to make this process as clean and transparent as possible for you all. we’ve had conversations from every single venue and promoter to the heads of the companies to limit fees and advertise only the total price to fans for as many shows as possible. so the ticket price you see is the ticket price you pay. this tour means the world to me and i want to make sure everyone gets in the door feeling right. also keep me posted if you encounter anything weird because i wanna know what you guys deal with and be able to take it right to the top of these companies and do my best to make it easier for bleachers fans and everyone. love you all! see you at FTSTTS ( just wait till you see this shit :) )

Bleachers are playing shows in support of their forthcoming self-titled album . The group’s follow-up to 2021’s Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night is out March 8.

Bleachers will have all the "Modern Girl(s)" running to see them live!

On Tuesday,   Jack Antonoff 's alternative band announced their United States From the Studio to the Stage tour, in support of their upcoming album Bleachers .

The tour will kick off on May 18 in Salt Lake City and they'll make stops in major cities before wrapping on June 15 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The shows will feature Samia as an opener.

Fans can sign up for the Seated registration presale beginning on Dec. 5 at 10 a.m. local time at bleachersmusic.com/tour . General sale will begin on Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. local time.

As always, $1 from every ticket sold will go to The Ally Coalition — founded by Jack and Rachel Antonoff in 2013 — and their work supporting LGBTQ+ youth across the country.

“Jack here. We know there’s lots of issues and confusion when buying tickets to shows. Want to ensure you we’ve done and will always do everything in our power to make this process as clean and transparent as possible for you all," Jack, 39, said in a press release.

"We’ve had conversations from every single venue and promoter to the heads of the companies to limit fees and advertise only the total price to fans for as many shows as possible. So the ticket price you see is the ticket price you pay," he continued. "This tour means the world to me and i want to make sure everyone gets in the door feeling right."

He concluded, "Also keep me posted if you encounter anything weird because i wanna know what you guys deal with and be able to take it right to the top of these companies and do my best to make it easier for bleachers fans and everyone. love you all! see you at FTSTTS ( just wait till you see this s—)."

Earlier this month, the "I Wanna Get Better" singers announced the upcoming album and released a nostalgic new single called "Alma Mater," which features guest vocals from the frontman's friend and collaborator  Lana Del Rey .

The self-titled album is set for a March 8 release via the record label Dirty Hit, and Bleachers also announced a five-date U.K. tour in promotion of the record for spring 2024.

"Alma Mater" marks Bleachers' latest release following the upcoming album's lead single "Modern Girl," an infectious pop-rock song reminiscent of  Bruce Springsteen  that features saxophones and a catchy chorus.

Antonoff, known as a go-to producer for artists like Del Rey,  Lorde  and  Taylor Swift , recently received a  2024 Grammy nomination  for producer of the year, non-classical, an award he won in 2022 and 2023 after receiving nominations in the category for two previous consecutive years.

Two weeks ago, Antonoff announced the first dates of “From the Studio to the Stage” would be in the U.K., including stops in London (March 19-20), Manchester (March 22), Birmingham (March 23), and Glasgow (March 25).

Ahead of 2024 U.K. and U.S. tours, the band will also meet fans this December at Audacy Riptide Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale, as well as in Clearwater, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York.

“Alma Mater,” the second single from Bleachers’ upcoming fourth studio album, dropped on November 15. Before the latest track, the band released “Modern Girl” as the first single from their album on September 20. They have delivered three studio albums so far, titled 2014’s Strange Desire , Gone Now in 2017, and  2021’s Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night.

The eight-time Grammy Award-winning musician and producer released a statement regarding the high costs consumers faced due to the added fees to the base price, ensuring, “the ticket price you see is the ticket price you pay.”

“We know there’s lots of issues and confusion when buying tickets to shows,” Antonoff said. “We will always do everything in our power to make this process as clean and transparent as possible for you all. We’ve had conversations from every single venue and promoter to the heads of the companies to limit fees and advertise only the total price to fans for as many shows as possible.”

“This tour means the world to me and I want to make sure everyone gets in the door feeling right,” he added. “Also keep me posted if you encounter anything weird because I wanna know what you guys deal with and be able to take it right to the top of these companies and do my best to make it easier for Bleachers fans and everyone.”

Back in September, Antonoff shared his views about the ongoing inflated ticket prices. He reposted President Biden’s tweet on X, which noted: “Concert tickets are hard enough to get, you shouldn’t have to pay surprise service fees on top of that. My Administration is working to crack down on those junk fees, so you know what you are paying for up front.”

“A show must be a place where an artist can set a price they believe in and can back up and then everyone can meet there at that price and enter that venue as equals,” Antonoff said in a reply to President Biden’s post.

Antonoff is the latest artist to speak-out regarding all-in ticketing. Last month, Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) called-out Live Nation to make its all-in pricing view a default setting across Live Nation and Ticketmaster platforms. Live Nation responded that they had done this for the venues it owns and operates but does not have the ability to do so elsewhere.  Klobuchar, however, isn’t buying it. She told  NBC News  that the company could still be more transparent, noting, “They can show how much the ticket costs, and that’s what they need to do.”

A Live Nation pre-sale will begin on Wednesday, December 6 ahead of the general on-sale slated for Friday, December 8 via Ticketmaster. Fans can also obtain Bleachers tickets via MegaSeats (use code “TICKETNEWS” for 10% off), StubHub , or Ticket Club where members can receive a free membership with the code “TICKETNEWS.”

Amazing . . . but bring good ear plugs!

Truly an incredible evening! Honestly, it had me in tears a time or two, much like some of the songs do when I'm listening on my earbuds. Just so much heart and soul, enthusiasm . . . and real Joy. Just amazing- getting goosebumps as I remember it now! I did have to go to the lobby to get earplugs after a song or two though- not sure if it's my ears getting older (I'm 45) or something about the room or if it was just plain loud, but it was pretty hard to handle without some hearing protection. My phone said it didn't get above 83 or so db, but I swear it was off . . . so definitely invest in some high quality ear protection but please do go see Bleachers!! It's now on our "for sure every time they are here we will go see them" list!! Truly a memory for a lifetime!

Out of this world

Bleachers was incredible. I expected them to be good, but the show was beyond my expectations. They put their souls and hearts into their performance. The staging, the lighting, it was all so surreal. Great connection with the crowd too. Would do it all again in a heartbeat.

Incredible show

From start to finish Bleachers really knows how to put on a show! Such great energy, and Jack is a really funny guy! Great crowd interaction, just an overall amazing performer! 100/10 would recommend!

I loved the show!! I LOVE JACK!! I think it started a bit late, but apart from that everything was great. Sound, light, everything! Bleachers is so underrated! But selfishly I love that not many people know them :))

Absolutely Incredible

It was an amazing concert and performance. The band performed more songs than they said they would which was such a treat and it was overall a very intimate concert. It felt very personal and I loved the saxophone touch. Jack Antonoff was also able to perform a song with no microphone due to it being in an orpheum and that felt like such a dream. I will come to see Bleachers for as long as they decide to come to Vancouver.

Phenomenal, energetic and overall best concert ever!!

Although the opener was underwhelming and, quite frankly, incredibly annoying, from the moment Bleachers took the stage to their very last note, the band gave everything they had and didn’t let their energy falter for a moment. Jack Antanoff made the experience so unbelievably personal and left an everlasting impression of good vibes, community, and passion. Bleachers should be a bucket list show for anyone who considers themselves a fan of live music.

Left Me Wanting More...

Great stage set up, awesome energy from the band & the show was electric!

Check them out!

Bleachers are absolutely amazing live. Even if you’re not familiar with their music, it’s a guaranteed good time. Strongly recommend!

Great, energetic show

Friendly, energetic, inclusive show. Well thought out show with non stop entertainment. And no encore? -Chef’s kiss!

Amazing show

Having loved the Bleachers for over 8 years now, I was incredibly excited to see them perform. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more!

Bleachers return to the road will come on the heels of the release of their fourth studio album Bleachers , which arrives March 8th via RCA Records. So far they’ve shared two singles from the forthcoming record: the Americana saxophone-led wailer “Modern Girl” and the broodingly lovelorn “Alma Mater.” Joining them on the tour will be indie-pop singer/songwriter SAMIA — who just released her sophomore album Honey back in January.

Before they head out they will make an appearance at KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas at The Kia Forum in Los Angeles.

When Do Bleachers Tickets Go On Sale?

Tickets for Bleachers  go on sale to the general public on Friday, December 8th at 10am local time.

The Bleachers artist presale starts Tuesday, December 5th at 10am local time.

A promoter presale also begins on Wednesday, December 6th at 10am local time.

What Is The  Bleachers  Presale Code?

Fans who want to purchase tickets for Bleachers through the available presales have a number of options.

Artist Presale

The Bleachers artist presale starts Tuesday, December 5th at 10am local time . Once you’ve selected your preferred Bleachers tour date , you’ll need to head over to their official website to register for access to your chosen date via Seated.

Live Nation Presale

A Live Nation presale will begin on  Wednesday, December 6th at 10am local time . To access the promoter presale,  choose a Bleachers tour date  and then use the following presale code to access the presale tickets:  CREW .

Pro Tips When Buying Your Tickets

First, on the day of the presale or general onsale (whichever you prefer), login to your Ticketmaster account ( go to my account or sign in located on the upper right corner of the page ) at least 15 minutes ahead of the sale time. If you don’t have one,  create one now .

Be sure to add your billing info (aka credit card info) before jumping into the digital queue for a quick check-out. Once the presale starts, remain in the digital queue. Only use one browser window because using multiple browsers or devices and multiple accounts with the same phone number can result in errors. Trust, it’s happened to us before! Don’t refresh your page, do be patient, don’t leave your page, do get those tickets!

What To Do If Tickets Are Sold Out?

If tickets sell out, your other option is to buy them via online resellers like VividSeats or StubHub. When all else fails, we prefer these resell options because both offer a 100% Guarantee. You can also purchase resell tickets through Ticketmaster’s resell program. Just search for the concert or event you want to attend , and see if they have any resell tickets available. We recommend you compare the three options and find out which works best for you.

Alternatively, you can hit it old school style and show up at the concert when the box office opens and wish upon a star that they release more tickets, or hopefully, another concert-goer has an extra ticket to sell at face-value or even giveaway for free. Trust, this happens more often than not! We’ve given away many tickets to sold-out shows simply because our +1 couldn’t make it.

Also, more standard tickets are often released via Ticketmaster 1-3 days leading up to the show date. We’ve seen it with Beyonce , Taylor Swift , Arctic Monkeys and many more! It’s a secret gatekeeped by many, but if you’re reading this, now you know! So be sure to set your calendar notifications!

Bleachers is an American indie pop act based in New York City formed in 2014 by Fun guitarist Jack Antonoff.

Jack Antonoff, the talented singer/songwriter and guitarist found fame with pop group Fun and is credited as a co-writer of one of the band's most successful singles 'We Are Young'. He has also written music for pop heavyweights including Taylor Swift and Christina Perri. Whilst on the road with Fun, Antonoff found an outlet for his creative urges whilst travelling from city to city in Bleachers. His side project remained unknown until February 2014 when he released the single 'I Wanna Get Better'.

It received moderate chart success due to the singer's credibilities and notoriety as an artist formerly associated with Fun. Critics enjoyed the shimmering layer of pop gloss that had been applied to this release and the album 'Strange Desire' which came in the summer continued to accumulate accolades. It was released through RCA records and was met with chart success, debuting at #11 on the US Billboard Charts and #19 on the Canadian album charts.

The guitarist has been touring the US tirelessly throughout 2014 to promote the album's release, including at stop off at Austin City Limits. Despite the success and time that Antonoff has invested into this project, he has made it clear this is not a departure from Fun and he still remains committed to the band.

Live reviews

Although Bleachers only recently found their way into the public eye, their infectious melodies and truly impressive live show are tempting music fans of all generations to don the sweatbands and leg warmers characteristic of the iconic time the band represents: a near revival of sorts. At the helm is fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff: deer-in-the-headlights turned rockstar, whose 80s hipster persona and unusual presence lend themselves to the palpable happiness felt by everyone in attendance. The real highlights of any Bleachers show, however, are the live renditions of “I Wanna Get Better,” “Rollercoaster,” “Shadow,” and other crowd favorites, which feature melodies that are simply begging to be shouted without any regard for auditory well-being.

Bleachers is unique among its counterparts in that it boasts two drummers that, when paired with the band’s signature synthesized pop rhythms, create a fuller sound and more intense live experience. Each blistering guitar solo leaves Antonoff in some transient state of bliss achievable only through true musicianship, and the performance is truly captivating. Within minutes, Jack’s taken off his first layer of clothing, sweat is flying, and he’s replaced his initial reserved demeanor with one of confidence and passion.

For those on the fence about attending a Bleachers show, it is important to note that all aspects of it — the lights, the energy, the nostalgia-inducing sing-a-longs — are contagious and will undoubtedly leave you in that lovely state of post-concert haziness for weeks to come.

Seeing Bleachers in concert was a down-right euphoric experience. I stumbled upon their music in the fall of 2017, and I really liked their sound -- energetic, upbeat, tinged with melancholy, but ultimately optimistic -- it suited me. I generally connect more with indie folk, so I didn't put Bleachers in my listening rotation. Still, I was excited when I saw they were coming to my hometown, because had a feeling that their music would lend itself well to live performance.

Holy crap, was I ever right! The band had a ton of energy and seemed like they were having a hell of a good time. And so was the crowd -- everyone around me was singing and shouting the lyrics and dancing and jumping around -- it was impossible not to get swept up. Lead-singer Jack Antonoff was very personable with the audience, and I was especially touched when he talked about his relationship with music, how it connects people. It may not have been the most original speech, but he seemed genuine, and, yeah, I could relate (looks like I have a new fan-crush!). I definitely feel more of a personal connection to Bleachers' music now!

I've been going through some stuff recently, but this concert filled me with joy. It was, without a doubt, the best concert I've ever been to.

ellen-wynne’s profile image

I've been to a number of concerts before, but that was honestly one of the best I've ever been to. With such a small venue, we were three people from the front and the up close experience was amazing. Royal Tongues was fantastic(!), the first time I've ever truly loved an opening act. The looong wait between the two bands was a bit rough, but it paid off with the show that Bleachers put on. For only 99 cents a ticket, this must have been one of the greatest concert values in history for what we got. With such an electric environment,I am so pumped to get back to Higher Ground for the Odesza concert in March!

regalite’s profile image

The opening act was awesome and got the crowd involved and pumped for the Bleachers. As soon as the lights went out, the crowd went nuts. They knew what was about to happen. They were about to experience one of the best bands around. From the moment they stepped on stage to the second they stepped off, the Bleachers were nothing but perfection. They interacted with the crowd so much and played the perfect set list. They even came back on stage for two more songs! They were absolutely phenomenal and I hope to see them again and meet them the next time they come back here. Hawaii loves you Bleachers!

haley-lambert’s profile image

I saw the Bleachers @ the Crystal Ballroom which was amazing because we were able to get super close to the stage (one or two people away). I loved their energy & you could really see their passion in their performance. The crowd loved them and almost pulled Jack Antonoff into a crowd surf. However the openers, Miss and Bob Moses didn't really pump up the crowd and there were awkward transitions between acts.

ectobey3’s profile image

Absolutely the best concert I’ve ever been to. They were amazing live and performed a new song as well as all my favorites, even some off of old albums. The freestyle they did was also incredible. I for sure will be seeing them again as soon as they come anywhere near me. The only issue I had was how short it was (which isn’t their fault because it could never be long enough).

sierrawise97’s profile image

As always Jack and his supporting cast put on a great show. They bring great energy and good vibes. Jack makes the crowd feel accepted and his effort to make the people who come to his shows feel appreciated. I love how the band will have a mini jam sesh where Jack and Evan go back and forth trying to one up each other. Overall great experience and an awesome show!

jarom-nelson’s profile image

Unbelievable! They had insane amounts of energy, and the venue was surprisingly good! The crowd got so into the music, in big part due to their humor, their attempts to engage the crowd, and the amount of fun they looked like they were having up there. Easy to say I have to see them every time they come to town now!

ryan-balcerzak’s profile image

I saw Bleachers I think 2 years ago in Boston and they impressed me. They put on a very fun, interactive show. They played all of their songs and their cover selection was spot on. This show was no different, amazing from beginning to end. My wife loved them so much, we hope to see them up in Portland again!

Hear Bleachers Put a Ghostly Spin on Classic Show Tune ‘Almost Like Being in Love’

By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

Bleachers take on the classic show tune “Almost Like Being in Love” for the final track in the Jack Antonoff -curated The New Look soundtrack .

The tenth and season finale episode of the Apple TV+ series — about the career of fashion designer Christian Dior and his clashes with Coco Chanel amid the backdrop of Nazi-occupied Paris — hit the streaming service Wednesday, and with it Antonoff and Bleachers’ ghostly rendition of the show tune that, after featuring in the  1947 musical Brigadoon , was popularized by artists like Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Shirley Bassey and Seventies soft rocker Michael Johnson.

Over the past 10 weeks, Antonoff and Apple TV+ have shared a selection from The New Look soundtrack, with contemporary singers providing their spin on mid-20th century songs from the Great American Songbook.

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce May Go to This Major Event Together, Despite Their Jam-Packed Schedules

Taylor Swift's international Eras tour starts again on May 9, when she appears at the Paris la Defense Arena with Paramore. Until then, she's living it up on break with her boyfriend Travis Kelce , and it seems that despite everything on their plates still, they're potentially making a big appearance at this star-studded event.

In case you need a reminder, Coachella season is nearly upon us, and while Swift isn't a part of the two-weekend festivities, she and Kelce are allegedly planning to go. Sources told UsWeekly that Swift and Kelce may be going to Indio, California to support her BFF Lana Del Rey and Jack Antonoff of The Bleachers. So for the weekends of April 12-14 and April 19-21, it seems we may get some Kelce and Swift Coachella pics!

Close sources claim that "they both want to see Lana Del Rey and Bleachers," and to go all out, they may be "renting a house in the area" for one of the two festival weekends.

Now, the last time Swift went to Coachella, at least publicly, was in 2016, which was one and only time she attended Coachella, per USAToday .

While Swift is on break from her tour, she's continually promoting her new album, The Tortured Poets Department , which is set to be released on April 19, and knowing her, she's probably working on a few more secret projects. As for Kelce, he may be in the off-season from the NFL; he's working on a potential hosting gig and is even working on a commercial this month.

So, while their schedules aren't as packed as they usually are, they're still quite busy; but we can't wait for a potential Coachella date for the two.

For those who don't know, Kelce and Swift made their relationship public in Sept 2023, but she told fans during her Person of the Year interview that they actually got together soon after his podcast episode in July 2023.

Jazz Mock Draft Roundup: Diamond in the Rough at No. 27?

Is it plausible for the Utah Jazz to hit a home run at No. 27?

  • Author: Patrick Byrnes

In this story:

The NBA mock season is hot and heavy for the 2024 draft. The Utah Jazz currently possess two first-round picks and an early second-round selection. Last week, we looked at some mock drafts in Utah’s pick, which is trending to come in at eight. This week, let’s take a peek at the selection, which is trending to come in at No. 27.

CBS Sports - Tyler Kolek PG

“Coming back from an oblique injury, Kolek returned to his regular self in a big NCAA tournament run for Marquette that ended in the Sweet 16. He averaged 18.7 Points and 18.3 assists per game In the Big Dance and showed off the passing instincts and scoring that made him The most exciting point guard In the sport this season.” — Kyle Booth

The Ringer - Kyle Filipowski C

‘Filipowski needs to land somewhere, right? I can’t help but wonder whether another year of school would be best for him so that he could be paired with Cooper Flagg, Duke’s incoming top-ranked high school prospect. But if Filipowski stays in the draft, then the Jazz would be a good landing spot because of Will Hardy’s ability to get the most out of his frontcourt pieces.” — Kevin O’Connor

The Bleacher Report - Kyshawn George SF/SG

“Kyshawn George finished the year at 40.8 percent on 4.2 three-point attempts, highlighting impressive shot-making for a 6'8" wing who can handle and pass. Scouts believe he can generate first-round interest from teams drawn to his archetype and upside, though his floor does feel low thanks to zero explosion and a 46.7 two-point percentage.” — Jonathan Wasserman

NBADraft.net - Bobby Klintman - F

“Klintman is a long, lean 6’10 225 PF prospect with the frame to put on muscle with ease and a physical profile that stood out at the college level … Reportedly grew 2 inches taller during his lone season at Wake Forest … Moves well and has very good body control and fluidity for a player his size; more smooth than explosive athletically … Budding perimeter skills makes him intriguing; was a promising floor spacer in Wake’s up tempo offense (around 37 3FG%) and has the ability to make shots with his feet set spotting up as a dribble drive valve or in the pick and pop game … Consistent shot mechanics and has enough size, touch and release quickness to stick jumpers against good contests … Has good hands, with the ability to grab passes that are either low or high and rebounds out of his catch radius (4.5 rpg in 20 mpg, 7 rpg in his last 11 ACC games) … Has enough length to alter shots effectively and had a few games with multiple blocked shots as a Freshman.” — Jorrye Nixon

WWE's Cody Rhodes 'Safe and Okay' After Tour Bus Caught Fire Ahead of WrestleMania 40

HOUSTON, TEXAS - MARCH 11: Cody Rhodes points to the Wrestlemania banner during WWE Monday Night RAW at Toyota Center on March 11, 2024 in Houston, Texas. (Photo by Alex Bierens de Haan/Getty Images)

Cody Rhodes' Road to WrestleMania hit one final roadblock Thursday night.

The American Nightmare released a statement Friday on X saying there were no injuries after his tour bus caught fire the previous night:

Cody Rhodes @ CodyRhodes Before you hear it elsewhere - my tour bus caught fire last night 🔥 <br><br>Everybody is safe and okay <br><br>The 2 items I grabbed before I got off will probably pop wrestling fans <br><br>Again, thank you <a href="https://twitter.com/PhillyFireDept?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@PhillyFireDept</a>

"I think the universe was saying, 'Hey, we're going to set your bus on fire and you're still going to go in and wipe the floor with The Bloodline on Saturday. You're still going to do it,'" Rhodes said on the Pat McAfee Show .

Pat McAfee @ PatMcAfeeShow "I'm coming in a little bit hot and here's why..<br><br>Last night at 1AM my bus driver yelled we gotta get off this bus it's on fire..<br><br>There ain't NOBODY here who is more ready for WrestleMania than me" ~ <a href="https://twitter.com/CodyRhodes?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@CodyRhodes</a><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/PMSLive?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PMSLive</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/WrestleMania?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#WrestleMania</a> <a href="https://t.co/yO7EWO7OGJ">pic.twitter.com/yO7EWO7OGJ</a>

Rhodes said he grabbed a picture of his daughter, a picture of his wife and his WrestleMania boots as he was exiting his bus in the middle of the night.

Cody is set for the main event on both nights of WrestleMania 40 this weekend. He'll team with Seth Rollins on Saturday to take on Roman Reigns and The Rock before going one-on-one against Reigns for the undisputed Universal championship on Sunday night.

The weekend is expected to result in the culmination of Rhodes story to become WWE champion, achieving a dream his father, the late Dusty Rhodes, never pulled off.

If Rhodes winds up victorious Sunday night, we'll look back at this as one final obstacle along the way. If he loses, however, it could wind up as an omen.

Women's college basketball all-time di scoring leaders.

the bleachers on tour

Iowa's Caitlin Clark became Division I women's basketball's all-time leading scorer on Feb. 15, breaking a seven-year-old record held by Washington's Kelsey Plum. Clark would also go on to break Pete Maravich's record for the most career points in men's and women's basketball on March 3.

In Iowa's highly anticipated matchup against Michigan, Clark broke the all-time DI women's scoring record with a long-range bomb from the center-court logo. The nation's leading scorer erupted for a career-high 49 points, shooting 16-for-31 from the field in addition to 8 free throws.

She snapped Pete Maravich's mark with a pair of free-throws against the second-ranked Buckeyes and would go on to finish with 35 points and nine assists.

Fourteen players have passed the 3,000-point mark in Division I women's basketball. Caitlin Clark and Syracuse's Dyaisha Fair are the only players in the last six years to have passed this milestone.

A year after Plum set the scoring record (2018), Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell made a run at the top spot, finishing her career second all-time with 3,402 points — Fair, the Buffalo and  Syracuse star, recently passed Mitchell with an impressive 2024 NCAA tournament run.

If you look at the top 25 scorers overall, you'll notice the trend of when each player competed. Seven of the top 10 and 14 players overall played at least one season during or after 2010.

Here are the top 25 scorers in DI women's college basketball as of April 7, 2024:
