The Eagles Announce “The Long Goodbye” The Band’s Final Tour
Tickets On Sale Friday, July 14 at 10:00 Local Time
High-res photos HERE
LOS ANGELES , July 6, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — After more than 50 years of touring, and consistently selling out arenas and stadiums worldwide, the Eagles announced today that their upcoming “The Long Goodbye” will be the band’s final tour.
Thirteen shows will be initially announced. The first set of dates will begin September 7, 2023 , in New York .
The Eagles’ long-time contemporaries and fellow Hall of Famers, Steely Dan, will be joining these historic shows and commemorating their own 50+ year career.
Presale tickets and VIP packages will be available starting Wednesday, July 12 for all announced shows. The general on-sale will start Friday, July 14 at 10:00 AM local time.
During “The Long Goodbye,” the Eagles – Don Henley , Joe Walsh , Timothy B. Schmit , with Vince Gill and Deacon Frey – will perform as many shows in each market as their audience demands. The tour is expected to continue into 2025.
Over the band’s more than 50 years of touring, the Eagles have performed more than 1,000 concerts around the world, accounting for more than 15 million tickets. Eagles’ tours have consistently ranked in the Top 10 of both concert industry publications, Billboard and Pollstar .
In the Fall of 1971, the Eagles formed, pioneered, and personified a uniquely American musical style blending country, folk, R&B, rock, and pop sensibilities, and would go onto become one of the most creatively and commercially successful bands of all time. In today’s faddish, fractured, rock landscape, the Eagles retain an appeal that transcends both generation and genre, cementing the band’s role as enduring musical icons.
The Eagles have sold more than 150 million albums worldwide, scored six #1 albums, and topped the singles charts five times. They earned six GRAMMY Awards, were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, in their very first year of eligibility, and received the Kennedy Center Honors in 2016.
The band’s Greatest Hits 1971-1977 is the best-selling album in history, with the RIAA certifying the collection at 38-times Platinum. Hotel California is the third best-selling U.S. album in history, certified 26-times Platinum. After its release in 1976, it topped the charts and earned two GRAMMY Awards for “New Kid In Town” and “Hotel California.”

Who Is Opening The Eagles ‘The Long Goodbye Final Tour?’
The Eagles have long since been cemented in rock music. With a career dating back to the early 1970s, the group has rightfully earned a blissful retirement . However, their disbanding following the tragic death of Glenn Frey was the true end of the music innovators. To give themselves a proper send-off, The Eagles have embarked on their The Long Goodbye Final Tour . So, who is the opening act for the tour?
Well, it’s none other than Steely Dan . The pairing is a subtle nod to the groups’ rumored rivalry dating back to 1976 when Donald Fagen name-dropped the band on their song “Everything You Did.”
“I never knew you / You were a roller skater / You gonna show me later / Turn up the Eagles, the neighbors are listening,” sang Fagen.
The Eagles’ Glenn Frey later explained his theory on the line in the compilation The Very Best of the Eagles ‘ liner notes. “Apparently, [Steely Dan member] Walter Becker’s girlfriend loved the Eagles, and she played them all the time. I think it drove him nuts. So, the story goes that they were having a fight one day, and that was the genesis of the line,” jokingly wrote Frey.

DeVonta Smith receives 3-year extension from Eagles, reportedly worth $75 million
The Philadelphia Eagles are making sure that Jalen Hurts has one of his top receivers by his side for the foreseeable future.
DeVonta Smith has agreed to a three-year extension with the Eagles, the team announced Monday. While they didn't disclose how much Smith will earn, the receiver is set to make $75 million over the deal with $51 million guaranteed, NFL Media reported .
While Smith became extension-eligible this offseason, the Eagles still had a couple of years to make a long-term commitment with the receiver. The Eagles picked up the fifth-year option of his rookie contract, keeping him under team control through the end of the 2025 season.
However, Smith is one of a handful of wide receivers who are expected to earn big-money deals either this offseason or next. Justin Jefferson , CeeDee Lamb , Ja'Marr Chase , Brandon Aiyuk , Tee Higgins and Amon-Ra St. Brown are among the receivers who are extension-eligible this offseason. So, the Eagles might have saved money by making Smith the first receiver from that group to receive a deal.
Smith has consistently produced since the Eagles drafted him with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He's recorded at least 900 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons in the league, including 1,000-yard seasons in the last two years. Smith had 81 receptions for 1,066 yards and seven touchdowns last season, continuing to form one of the league's best receiver duos alongside A.J. Brown .
With Smith's extension keeping him under lock until the end of the 2028 season, the Eagles have their key offensive players all under contract through the 2026 season. Hurts signed a five-year, $255 million extension last offseason, keeping him with the team through 2028. Left tackle Jordan Mailata and guard Landon Dickerson are also under contract through the end of the 2028 season while right tackle Lane Johnson is under contract with the team until the end of the 2027 season. Brown is under contract through the 2026 season.
In addition to extending some of their top offensive players this offseason, the Eagles made a splashy addition to the unit. They signed former New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley to a three-year, $37.7 million deal.
The Eagles look to rebound in 2024 after a rough end to the 2023 season. After looking poised to repeat as NFC East champions and make another run to the Super Bowl, Philadelphia lost five of its final six regular season games following a 10-1 start. The Eagles ultimately lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the opening round of the playoffs.

Philadelphia Eagles Named Best Fit For Mid-Major WR on Day 2 of NFL Draft
The Philadelphia Eagles could look to add to their receiving core in the upcoming NFL Draft. Western Kentucky's Malachi Corley has been named a potential 'fit' for the Eagles if they do end up addressing that position.
- Author: Harrison Reno
In this story:
Based on recent mock drafts, the Philadelphia Eagles ' first-round pick at No. 22 overall in the NFL Draft suggests they will target either an offensive tackle or cornerback. But what about Day 2 of the draft, where the Eagles will have two picks in the second round at No. 50 and 53?
According to Pro Football Focus, Western Kentucky receiver Malachi Corley could be an Eagles' potential Day 2 target.
Dec 18, 2023; Charlotte, NC, USA; Western Kentucky Hilltoppers wide receiver Malachi Corley (11)
Jim Dedmon-USA TODAY Sports
“The Eagles’ production after the catch substantially dropped in 2023. Western Kentucky’s Malachi Corley is dynamic with the ball in his hands and proved it by forcing 73 missed tackles over the past three seasons,” PFF writes . “Corley would provide a spark to Philadelphia’s RPO and screen games while he further develops his route running.”
With A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith already on the roster, you may wonder why the Eagles would draft a receiver with one of their second-round picks instead of filling other positions that may be considered more of a “need.”
Putting aside the type of playmaker that the Eagles could get in Corley, as our own Ed Kracz recently detailed, the Eagles could be heading for salary cap problems in the coming seasons with the contracts of key players like Brown, Smith, Jalen Hurts, and Lane Johnson all set to have increased cap hits.
Specifically, Brown’s cap hit is set to increase dramatically over the next two seasons from $12 million. However, that manageable cap number will rise to $26 million in 2025 and $41 million the year after. Combine that with the contracts given to Hurts and Johnson already, along with Smith’s imminent extension, it is easy to see why Brown’s future could be elsewhere.
With that in mind, it makes sense for the Eagles to, at the very least, take a swing at a receiver sooner rather than later in the draft, especially considering that the receiver class this season is elite at the top.
As for Corley, the former Orange City, Florida, native enjoyed a very productive career at Western Kentucky. Across four years, Corley totaled 3,035 yards and 29 touchdowns on 259 receptions.
After a true freshman season in 2020, during which he had just 65 yards on six receptions, he totaled 2,970 yards across the three following seasons. One of those, 2022, saw Corley record a career-high 1,295 yards and 11 touchdowns on 101 receptions while playing in 14 games. While he didn’t manage to match that yardage, he did record 11 touchdowns again in 2023, this time on 79 receptions for 984 yards.
At 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds, Corley is a different type of receiver than the 6-foot-1 Brown and even the 6-foot Smith. As his NFL.com player profile scouting report describes, Corley’s playstyle is more similar to San Francisco 49ers’ star Deebo Samuel.
“Corley is a big, physical wideout who has been asked to carry a heavy workload for Western Kentucky, using his talent after the catch. Corley’s highlight reel will be full of broken tackles and general carnage left in his wake, …” Lance Zierlein writes . “Like Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel when they were prospects, Corley has had a heavy percentage of his targets schemed around him, and he will need to prove he can become more than just a quick-game bully or gadget guy.”
If Corley can develop into the type of player that Samuel or Aiyuk did, he’d undoubtedly make a strong Day 2 pick.

Watch Paul McCartney, the Eagles Perform ‘Let It Be' at Jimmy Buffett Tribute Concert
Paul McCartney celebrated Jimmy Buffett during a tribute concert at the Hollywood Bowl last night, sharing memories of the musician and performing the Beatles' "Let It Be" with the Eagles.
"I had the great pleasure of knowing Jimmy," McCartney told the audience. "And like everyone else on the bill tonight has said, this is one great man. He was generous, he was funny, he'd done just about everything in his life."
He added, "I was on holiday with him and I forgot to bring my guitar, so he had his own guitar strung left-handed for me. And then the next time I saw him he'd had one custom made left-handed for me."
He explained that he sang several songs for Buffett during the last week of his life and wanted to perform one of them for the concert. McCartney, who was introduced by Dave Grohl, showcased the 1970 song at a grand piano while backed by the Eagles.
The concert, "Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett," also featured Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Jon Bon Jovi, and Zac Brown. The musicians, including McCartney, came together at the end of the show to perform "Margaritaville" with Buffett's own Coral Reefer Band.
Elsewhere during the tribute concert, Coral Reefer Band, Brown, and Grohl teamed up for a cover of Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl," while Sheryl Crow showcased "Fins."
Brown took the opportunity to debut a new song, "Pirates and Parrots," which will officially be released on April 19.
Snoop Dogg also appeared onstage, performing his song "Gin and Juice" for the audience.
Buffett died on Sept. 1, 2023, at the age of 76. At the time, McCartney wrote , "He had a most amazing lust for life and a beautiful sense of humour. When we swapped tales about the past his were so exotic and lush and involved sailing trips and surfing and so many exciting stories that it was hard for me to keep up with him. Right up to the last minute his eyes still twinkled with a humour that said, ‘I love this world and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it'. So many of us will miss Jimmy and his tremendous personality. His love for us all, and for mankind as a whole."
