I used to live in Jakarta and so am quite familiar with most of the "international" (meaning Hyatt, Sheraton, Mandarin, Shangrila, etc.; mostly five star) as well as "near international" (meaning Aryaduta, Borobudur, Century Park, etc.) hotels. This hotel is located in Senayan right next to the Jakarta stadium (Gelora Bung Karno), and is well located on the South side of Jakarta. The guests are upscale, mostly Indonesian, although it is a funny mix of sports teams staying there during competitions (hence its full Indonesian name Atlet Century Park Senayan) and people visiting nearby ministries (particularly the ministry of education), plus business people. The rack rates seem high, but they have lower corporate rates and they also discount regularly via services like Agoda, at which point the prices are reasonable. If you are a business person looking for an acceptable but relatively inexpensive hotel, the Century Park is fine, and if you are the kind of business traveller who wants to exercise/run it is probably a good place to go because of the sports complex literally across the street. It has acceptable food in terms of a café, but if you want expensive hotel restaurants and the like you might do better at someplace like the Mandarin or Hyatt. But the most important aspect of any hotel in Jakarta is location because of the traffic, so this hotel is good for meetings from the Central Business District around the Stock Exchange down to South Jakarta. It is also cheap enough for families, if you look for the online discounted room, etc. I will stay there again.

This is my 4th time stay at the same hotel and I know there will be many more times here. Still my fav choice hotel in Jakarta. Location is super. No traffic jam to and fro airport to hotel. Its linked to a huge mall with tonnes of places to eat and shop. The mall has everything. I dont need to go anywhere else. Rooms are so clean and well maintained. Loved the range of toiletries too. Love the decor in the rooms and everywhere in the hotel. Wonderful scent in the hotel lobby as you enter making you want to know what is that scent! Staff are very friendly from airport pick up deiver front desk Housekeeping room service and even the chef at buffet breakfast. Everyone are simply nice. Food - we ordered room service, though pricey but taste good. Buffet breakfast was good too but if you have to pay per head can be pricey. Anyway we will be back for sure since they are still the best among the many hotels in Jakarta that I have tried. Thanks Pullman!

I have stayed in all 5-star hotels in Jakarta. I have to say that Fairmont Jakarta turned out to be the best among other 5-star hotels in town! Really love the spacious room, friendly and helpful staffs, nice food, best location and the tunnel connecting the hotel to Plaza Senayan is very convenient and superb! Will definitely become a repeater guest!

Rooms are a bit small, and bathroom even smaller, but this has to be the greatest boutique hotel in Jakarta - you get 5-star service and comfort in a small package. Popular among locals for weddings, and really interesting to see guests in their traditional Javanese attire. Lots of dining choices, and it's the type of location where a foreigner can enjoy walking around and being in a relatively quiet and cosy part of Jakarta.

With the notable exception of the Grand Hyatt, I have never stayed in a better hotel in Jakarta. My room well was appointed, the bathroom was immense -- I could have comfortably lived in it -- and staff at the hotel were absolutely impeccable; always polite, exceptionally friendly and consistently a pleasure to deal with. The breakfast buffet was also superb -- a huge selection of both Western and Indonesian dishes. I ate waffles, pancakes, fruit and yoghurt every morning and was pretty much full for most of the day. The location isn't really ideal unless you're on business -- it's in the Kuningan area with some of the other larger hotels. I needed to be over on Jalan Thamrin and though this is close in terms of kilometres, it takes an hour or more to get there in the traffic. That said, most business travellers would probably prefer to be in Kuningan anyway, and I can't imagine why anyone else would visit Jakarta unless they had to for work! Internet was paid for, but reasonably priced at hours. That's less than half of most other Jakarta hotels. The business centre can help arrange domestic flights and there's a Bank Mandiri next door with international ATMs. My only gripe is that there wasn't a hairdryer in the bathroom. Other than that, I really can't fault this hotel and I said as much in the comment card that was left in the room. Two days later, the manager e-mailed me personally to thank me for my comments. I really enjoyed staying here and truly think it's the best hotel in Jakarta at a reasonable price -- I look forward to going back and would recommend the Park Lane to anyone.

I've stayed twice at Atotel. When I was looking for hotels I came across this hotel, hmm.. Interesting concept. I booked & I have not regretted choosing Artotel. When I entered Artotel I was like WOW! The smell was so fresh & nice. I luv the deco. I myself luv arts. I think it's really great they came up with this getting few artist to paint in the rooms..thruout the hotel. I was telling myself I wished Malaysia had something like this. The food.. I had breakfast & it wasn't that great. I think they need to improve. I ordered the room service chicken wings...that was nice. There are times I'm sure some guest who are so tired would like to stay in their room, order room service, relax... Laundry..I snd my white blouse & few others for a wash.. My white blouse came back in light baby blue color & it wasn't iron properly & same as the rest too... I told d staff about it & they apologise.. Most hotels I've stayed when I ask for iron they give me the usual normal iron but at Artotel it's steam iron. I prefer steam iron as it's easier for me. At Artotel they think of everything they could to make it easier for their guest. In Indonesia their plug is different than Malaysia or in England so they made sure they had that install so the guest don't really need to buy an adapter. You can't expect everything to be perfect at all the hotels, even at a 5 or 6 star hotels you get some faulty too. Sometime things do happen. Besides that I really do like Artotel. It's one of my favourite hotel in Jakarta. I would definitely stay at Artotel again & I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Harris Vertu hotel is something that outshines all the other hotels in the area. Located in Central Jakarta this hotel makes it easy to get to national landmarks like the Monas, Nayional Musuem and gallery and the Central Park area. Me and my partner arrived late to check out after so km e difficulties at the airport and Harris Hotel booked out the last standard room already and gave us a free upgrade without any issues at all. We collapsed as soon as we got to the room and the bed is incredibly comfortable and inviting. The room although small in size felt really big in actually because our room was situated in the corner of the hotel where we had two big windows to look out too thr city every morning and evening. We Not make much of the pool and other facilities such as pool and the spa was booked the last day we tried to use it. We went out during our 4 night stay so it was Not a big deal. I do have some smalls cons to point out. Bathroom: Sliding doorway and mirror is one and is behind the sink which Made it difficult to See full body in mirror. Dine in room service: of the few times we Did order room serverice they only got it half right. I think this is a miscommunication issue because we had to repeat our order several time. I think some of the staff have limited English capabilities. Also there are no vegetarian options on their menu you have to call to order/amend the menu which was frustrating at times because of miscommunication. Location: although it is close to many national landmarks it is not that close to many restaurants. Pros: Dine in Service: they were still open to accommodate to my vegetarian needs. Location: Close to grand indonesia mall and landmarks. I would glady stay at Harris Vertu again if I am in Jakarta and recommend others to do so.

The Ciputra Hotel in Jakarta remains one of my favorites. It offers everything in high quality that the business traveller requires. It is one of the closet "in-town" hotels to the airport. The food and accommodations are all superior. The TV selection is outstanding. Being connected to the Mall, the Ciputra offers excellent shopping without having to battle traffic. The staff is courteous and efficient. The hotel is also easy to find for business clients. I would recommend the Ciputra over most others.

My wife and I enjoyed the stay in this hotel since the newly renovated room is very nice. We thought the room's price is really worth it once we got into the room. The location of the hotel in downtown of Jakarta is also contributed to the satisfaction we got from the hotel. We would recommend people to stay at Nikko Jakarta Hotel even just for fun since you can just go across the street to find one of the largest mall in Jakarta which is Plaza Indonesia. Breakfast was one of the strong points of the hotel, varieties of food were served.

before we booked this place, we checked ourself in to a different hotel in the centre of jakarta - the amaris - and had a universally awful experience. it was so bad, we checked in and out on the same day. so, when we booked here for just under a week at the last minute, we weren't expecting a lot - we just wanted somewhere better to stay. and as it happens - we could not have enjoyed this stay more - it was pretty much perfect for us. everything from the large safe for laptops, ensuite bathroom and ample kitchen to the individual outside washing machine and drying area, suited us down to the ground. staff were friendly, the apartment itself was amazing, at it gave us some pretty incredible views while we were there. we will definitely be coming back here when we visit jakarta in the future.

They have fun and friendly staffs that never stop smiling and the speed of checking in and out is extremely fast. The hotel offers clean, bright, large bedroom and of course fast-internet speed, both lan and wifi. The hotel is located next to a shopping mall, therefore looking for food and shopping is not an issue. After a long day out eating, and you are looking for a place to shred away those calories and sweat it off, do drop by the hotel gym. The hotel has a well-equip gym, sauna and swimming pool that opens until 2200hrs. During my stay with HARRIS Hotel, I was given a birthday gift, a birthday card and a birthday cake. I am impress with the CRM program of HARRIS Hotel and I would strongly recommend my friends to stay in HARRIS Hotel when they visit Jakarta.

Before I booked the room, there's a lil confusion about the pricing. at night I checked and when i want to book at the following morning, the price sudden rise for twice from original. But I email the hotel an later the price changed back. I stayed in 2 bedroom Premiere and like it! The room is spacious, they hv 2 bathroom and well-equipped kitchen. We had a comfortable sitting area and dining area. And the room also has a beautiful Jakarta's skyscraper view. The location also good, in the main road of the center of Jakarta. by walking distance, you can find yourself a McD, nice coffee shop, more food options and the 24-hours DimSum.Inc and LuckyCat Cafe. Transportation option also very nice, there's a TransJakarta bus station within 5 min-walk. Easily located for conventional and online taxi. And even there's a direct airport bus from Epicentrum mall, within 15 min-walk from the hotel. For me, this is one of the best option if you want to have an apartment-facility-hotel in Jakarta.

The pool is the largest I have been to in any hotel in Jakarta and the gym facilities are fantastic too. Location is a bit off the main road but still around central Jakarta. It was the first time that The Husband and I travelled to Jakarta free and easy, without the help of guides. We were pleasantly surprised to discover the close proximity this hotel is to major shopping belts. To the left would be Thamrin City and to the right would be Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. Upon arrival at the airport, their airport transfer staff was there to bring us to the hotel. Upon registration, we were allowed to check-in immediately, even though it was only 11am and official check-in time wasn't until 2pm. Needless to say, we kept ourselves fully occupied with lots of shopping at the malls within that area. Dining choices were plenty. From Restoran Sederhana across from Thamrin City that sold delicious padang food, to foodcourts in Thamrin City for refresher meals in between shopping. Dinner would be a more relaxed affair over at Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. Again, spoilt for choice because they had more than 4 floors of food outlets accumulatively. From high end restaurants to foodcourts to suit your budget. Each time we returned to the hotel, we were greeted by warm smiles. On our last day, our scheduled pickup to the airport was at 230pm. We check with this staff if this meant we had to check-out at 12pm like with most hotels and leave our bags at the lobby while we spend the time away until 230pm, but they were nice enough to say that the room would be ours until the scheduled pick-up time. So Ascott Jakarta, we will be back. With friends and family in tow :)

This grand old lady is an old favourite- having gone through some difficult and neglected times in the period 1999 to 2012. We spent a very pleasant week in this "home away from home" last month. The staff were fabulous - warm and friendly and at the same time totally professional. Breakfast was outstanding. If you are up on a Sunday morning, make sure you join the vehicle free walk on Sudirman - a fantastic community event. The MRT stop couldn't be closer making the Sahid one of the most accessible hotels in Jakarta! (Hasn't Jakarta changed for the better in the last 5 years - cleaner and less traffic problems!)

This is one of the three hotels that I prefer for my stays in Jakarta. It has a lot of Indonesian charm and great outdoor facilities (running track and 50 yrd pool). The staff is super friendly -- even though the queuing systems for check-in could be improved. :-) On weekends, I also recommend asking for a quiet floor because this hotel can attract a lot of families and wedding parties -- which at times I prefer to avoid. Also the breakfast area on weekends can become very crowded -- which at times leads me to book a room without breakfast. Again, I consider this of my favorite hotels in Jakarta. Andreas S.

I have been very surprised to see how this hotel can compete with all the other 5-stars hotels in Jakarta. The price is very good for an incredible quality/price ratio. The security is very efficient. the rooms are spacious and be bed very comfortable. The design in the room has been carefully selected and one of the major good points is the availability of the 24/7 restaurant. The hotel is well located in Casablanca near the Ambassador's mall. The breakfast is excellent and give a large choice of different kind of food. I highly recommend this hotel for any travelers who would like to stay 1 or more nights in Jakarta.

The hotel is a good location, in the heart of Jakarta. Great facilities with Pool, sauna, spa, and fitness center which can make you relax and fresh. When afternoon time comes, I really enjoy afternoon cocktail at Rimba Ayana Jakarta. The room is clean and spacious space, but my room has an old tv. The hotel should change it with flat tv the new one. My bad experience coming from staff. From the first time, I arrive at the front door, no greeting, no smile, until i must wait 15-20 mins for check in, even when i have a breakfast, why there is no smile on your face and greetings? Please smile and your manner also need to improve. Greeting, smile , what ever the person is coming from. Over all, i'm realy enjoyed my staycation at Ayana Mid Plaza Jakarta. Really surprised to read a few reviews about the place - I wasn't expecting much. Breakfast was a good buffet with an in-house mini bakery providing fresh pasteries! Gym was well equipped for a hotel gym, pool was excellent with a jacuuzi and childs pool with a slide aswell!! Room was ever-so-slightly dated but a good standard and fully equipped for us to cook our own meals. Asked for a high floor and got it with a great view of adjacent towers. Taxi's here are so cheap and trustworthy you can use these to get anywhere in city as the streets immeditely outside aren't pedestrian friendly but I believe this is throughout Jakarta.

finally i place in jakarta where i feel like home! the urban style gives me a feeling of belonging and the casual atmosphere allows me to feel like im on holiday. very friendly staff and they all speak english. here, they dont find problems, they find solutions to your requests. this is probably the best value ive had for my my money on my travels, both on business and leisure. the hotel offers all facilities you need, and the best and most unique touch that i have seen, is the shiny new laundry machines (washer/dryer) that are offered free of charge. they even supply detergent! the two draw backs at morrissey is that it gets quite noisy in the mornings due to the many mosques in jakarta and also there is no room service. the restaurant next to the lobby is not owned by the hotel. this restauratn however, offers amazing italian style food and is highly recommended. this is definitely the place to stay! it advertises with only three stars, but this is the first indonesian hotel that i feel deserve one more star than advertised. this should be a four-star hotel. already at my first stay, i knew that this would be my preferred hotel for all stays in jakarta. unfortunately, they have been fully booked on a few occasions. just another sign of the great value and great experience.

Overall, we love the spot since it just a miles away from my jakarta best spot, like senayan city, plaza senayan or just a minutes away from istora senayan. But the stuffs in our room is old enough in 2011, they have make some new renovation

Mall wise, Lotte shopping avenue is next door, with lollipop available for my kids to play ... So yeahh it's a good stay again in Ascott Kuningan

Thank you very much for the Sales Executive who responded swiftly to my complain regarding my room. She moved me to a better room and even gave me desserts and hot lemon-infused water. I really appreciated the gesture :) The hotel internet was fast so I could work comfortably in my room. The in-room dining service is a bit pricy but the food was tasty. The hotel provides a lot of variety of food during breakfast so I did not need to have lunch ;) I'll come back to this hotel again if I need to stay in the East Jakarta area.

I have stayed at the Gunawarman 3 separate times during trips to Jakarta. It’s in a great location near the CBD, shopping and outstanding restaurants. What sets this hotel apart from many is its value for such a highly rated hotel. It’s is very inexpensive versus other 5 star hotels. The Gunawarman is clean and the rooms are outstanding. The beds are some of the most comfortable I’ve stayed in. The service is also very very good. I have only one issue and that is on the weekends, the bar allows smoking and louder music until early in the morning. Depending on your room location you can sometimes here the music. Otherwise I believe it’s one of the best options for hotels in Jakarta

Got the best deal in my 3 night stay. Staff were attentive and accommodating. The room is neat and well designed. I will definitely keep using this hotel whenever km in Jakarta for business. Dear Sir/Mdm, good day, Every thing was good except for the towels and pillow cases/bedsheets/comforter which smell a little something like they did not bother to use enough detergent to wash it. I asked them to change the sheets/pillow case on the third day of my 4-night stay there but the faint smell of not-properly cleaned bed linen was still there. The towels smell worse despite daily change and one even had obvious rust stains on it. We are talking about hygiene here and things which come into contact with our skin/senses. The room manager should be fired for such tardiness. Other than that, the hotel should also make an effort to clean the windows which are a little stained and prevent us, at times, from enjoying a clear all round view of the quiet and green neighbourhood. By the way, the small un-inviting pool located right next to the open air area of the Cafe is an eyesore. It makes me feel the open air area of the cafe is located in a wet-floored toilet. Get ride of the pool. Use some thinking here, do something else with the swimming pool space. Last but not least, they should attempt to drop the word 'Darmawangsa' as I feel it does not reflect well on the hotel's part by intentionally or unintentionally associating itself with the high end Dharmawangsa Hotel which is located less than 10 minutes' walk away. Also, it can confuse first time guests and taxi drivers who often mistake it for Dharmawangsa Hotel. To the management of The 101 Hotel located at Darmawangsa Square, Jakarta, please give some thoughts to the above points if you are keen to make it a top 4-star hotel in Jakarta. You are just that close to make the hotel stay at the 101 a great experience, don't throw that chance away. NKH 04 Jan 2016

One of the best stay I have had in a long long time. Could very well be the best stay I have had these 2 years. Quite perfect. Great genuinely friendly staff especially Thom and Rina, great rooms with awesome beds, beautifully strong shower pressure, luxurious amenities, well equipped kitchen, huge room size and practically everything else is perfect here (have never said this in a review before). Very very highly recommended service apartment/hotel. Restaurants, Bars, cozy Market Place all just downstairs with 7-11 next door. A definitely value for money and must stay place when in Jakarta. Rate this place a 10!

Fantastic price for such a central location. We arrived and were told all the no smoking rooms were taken so we were being put in a smoking room. When we rejected this, they solved the problem calmly, asked us to wait in the restaurant with a welcome drink for an hour and prepared us a suitable room. We were escorted to the restaurant, where the staff greeted us by name and brought us a drink. The suite was great - fully equipped kitchen, loungs, dining table and chairs, cable TV, large bedroom, en suite, extensive room service menu. Breakfast was buffet style served in the restaurant. A reasonable choice, continuously refilled. The chefs on the egg station (both days - so 4 different men) couldn't cope with the volume of guests and the quality was haphazard (one day poached eggs were over cooked, the next almost raw!). Otherwise decent breakfast with attentive service. All the staff (front desk, door, restaurant, various security members) greeted us with smiles and often by name throughout our visit. We have often stayed in much 'glitzier' hotels in Jakarta, and the service here was just as good. All in all, a good find. We will return next time we have to be in Jakarta.

Memorable stay with somerset, everything you need is just a stone's throw away. It was perfect for me as I'm a frequent visitor to loewy and a big fan of the kuningan area because its so convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful, my apartment was how it was from the first day to the last even though I was a very messy person. They did a perfect job on house keeping and were very honest people because I left money lying around everywhere in the apartment and not a single cent was missing. (Plus point) The staff would greet me with genuine smiles and that's what makes my day since I'm also working in the service industry. (Plus plus point) Will choose to stay at somerset whenever I need to travel to jakarta because the apartment felt like home which is most important for me. I highly recommend somerset grand citra to my friends whenever they travel to jakarta because it's awesome.

I have traveled Asia for close to two years now, and I have yet to find a place that meets all of my expectations--this one nailed them, all of them. The common area(s)--which are a big deal for me--were so cozy and filled with energy. The first common area is downstairs and is where everybody hangs out. It is where you can make dozens of friends and learn all about Indonesia very quickly--it is also where the pool table and big screen TV is (which is loaded with new movies!) The other sits upstairs, unbothered by noise and traffic. The choice is yours at any given moment. I occupied both in equal respects of time. The showers were hot, and although the water is not treated, I did not really care--you may though. The wifi was the best I have ever used. It was so fast that I could stream videos uninterrupted from anywhere in the building. The dorm was comfortable, but keep in mind that it is a dorm and not a private room: the noise will always be there. If you are going to pass through Jakarta, stay here. The staff can answer any question you have and help you make it through Java, Bali, and Lombok!

I spent my 4 days and 3 night in Jakarta for friend's wedding and I have no plan what to do at all in Jakarta. Staffs are really helpful and thoughtful to suggest places to visit and food to try on. The location also very convenient and near to visit the museum around (I love museum!). God! There are more than 4 museums to visit and it was walking distance. And if you are a museum lover, you definitely love this place. Also, there was enormous street food to try on along the museum and I really enjoyed the "Telur Gulung", "Mie Ayam", "Bagador Ikan" and "Satay Padang". Please give a try on Grab Bike and Gojet. It's like Uber but you ride a motorcycle. I enjoyed the moment I got stuck in traffic jammed (Jakarta famous with) and the rider was trying his best to escape. I totally going to miss that. It was fun and thrill memories and I'm glad I made the unplanned vacation to Jakarta. Oh! I am a girl from Malaysia and I feel safe in Jakarta city. No worries ladies!

I find myself reiterating what everyone else has mentioned: The staff were incredibly friendly (especially Freddie and Ersa!) and helpful; definitely some of the best counter staff I've encountered! Everyone you could want as a backpacker is available: towel, bedside plug in a small cupboard, huge locker with its own electronic lock, clean sheets & duvet, thick pillows, large and clean toilets. Capsules were high enough that I could sit upright comfortably, and while a curtain for extra privacy would be nice, I didn't find myself particularly needing one. Location-wise, Capsule Hotel is on a nice street filled with art galleries and good food. It's probably as safe a street as you're going to find in Jakarta, I reckon. Taxis from CGK Airport cost around 180,000 IDR, excluding the tolls - which SHOULD be 15,000 IDR. I strongly recommend Blue Bird Taxis; even my Express Taxi driver (the Wikitravel-recommended alternative) charged me 50,000 IDR for the tolls. All in all, definitely a place I would strongly recommend and return to, if I'm ever in Jakarta again!

My first time of hostel experience in Indonesia. This is a brand new hostel, location is quite good in the very central, close to all big shopping malls and restaurants. Staff can speak good English and are also friendly, overall worth of the money I spent! Pros: cheap, location, thoughtful touches( you can buy toothpaste, rent tower all at cheap price), choice of ensuit bathroom room which is super for girls! Strong enough AC, ok standard mattress, friendly staff, next door is a restaurant. Cons: not as clean as I expected. This part I think the management need to improve the maintenance. They didn’t do cleaning per day, once I found lipstick stain on the duvet cover as well as unknown stain on the bed sheet. Hair in the bathroom since day I checked in till 3 nites after. Room is not spacious enough (however the bathroom is quite big), perhaps a 26inch suitcase will not fit in the room. There’s no 3 beds of room type here which still listed on agoda. However it’s still a nice place for solo travelers who would like to try hostel in jkt or with budget. I would stay again which I’ve extended 2 more nights right after!

Rated high as it is you get what you pay for. Very cheap hotel and very basic and a little run down. We only stayed one night as getting the train. Good location as very close to station and lots of great food places around. Hotel staff friendly and offer basic breakfast with the room. Was fried rice or noodle or toast. Good for the price you pay. If you are walking to the hotel and get a little off track like we did just ask the locals they are very helpful and will show you the way.

TV was provided at the sitting space, no remote unfortunately. I found few long hair on the sleeping area andone of the pillow seemed just been used. The bed is large though. If you don't expect hotel-type of facilities and room, then you won't be disappointed when you stay here. The price was affordable, so that's great. Location wise, it is very strategically located, with many restaurants/cafes nearby. The staff were also nice and friendly though I have no idea why they didn't clean the hotel room daily unless requested. In terms of facilities, they've got water gallon, kitchen (albeit not having complete cutlery), microwave, fridge, TV cable and a set of amenities. So yea, those are pretty good. The only downside was probably its cleanliness. I spotted some ants around the room and there were two or three of them in my bedsheets. Also, when I first came, there was a cigarette bud in the toilet and I had to ask the staff to clean it up. Oh and the air from the AC was kinda smelly whenever I first turned it on. Overall, it's an affordable and decent place to stay, so long as you don't expect it to be like a 4- or 5-star hotel.

This is a small facility located within a neighborhood. The hotel is really clean; you are provided with all amenities you need for a simple day to day living. However, there is a mosque across the hotel and 4:30 in the morning the loudspeakers announce prayer. It was really terrible for me to fall asleep after 4:30 in the morning. The other issue i have with this place is every time i took shower, I end up living the bathroom with burning eyes. I didn't know what the problem until the next day of my stay. I found out the water is salty. I tried to ask the staff. Needless to say, they like most of hotel staff in Jakarta don't speak English. I had to leave the place eventually. If you can put of with the couple of negative things I mentioned, the place is for most part nice.

I have read some reviews prior to my stay on the hotel, mostly are right. But again, since the world is changing so as the Hotel. I stayed for 3 days at the hotel although far from Central Jakarta, I can say that this hotel is a class of its own. Having friendly staff and well maintained room, it make my stay at Jakarta worthwhile. I love the ambience and its cleanliness. The room are not that big compared to other hotels but still, the arrangement of the bed and drawers and tables make it bigger to look at. Its clutter free and not hard to move around. In all, I love this hotel and looking forward to stay over and over again at Aerofans Inn.

it's so hard at first to find it. you must go to kebagusan city apartment and head to chrysant tower. there are 5 rooms at 23rd floor dedicated to london living apartment. each room had a name with england's region. the room is small because the size is studio. but inside they have little kitchen, refrigerator, an lcd tv with cable channel (although it's limited) and dvd player. perfect for someone wants to get some private time during hectic days. just bring your own ingredients to cook and enjoy the meal while watching tv. totally cool for solo traveler. there's only one staff but he's very helpful. after you make reservation, before check-in contact the owner first (phone available) to confirm your arrival. if you want to found secluded place in jakarta, you can consider this place and enjoy your time alone, since there are no room service. bring books, laptop and your own dvd to accompany you.

The Morrissey has become my default hotel in Jakarta and I keep coming back whenever I am in the city. Although called a serviced apartment it is a hotel, with good food, facilities and service. Rooms have a nice loft style, comfortable and spacious, with high ceilings and tall windows. The buffet breakfast is very good and varies daily; the Ocha & Bella restaurant attached to the hotel offers very good Italian food and often has live music; it seems to be popular with locals as well as hotel guests. The rooftop deck is fabulous and offers great views of the skyline. The hotel is within walking distance of major shopping malls (Plaza and Grand Indonesia). Service is attentive and friendly. Wireless internet is available throughout the hotel. I've stayed here both on my own and with family (including a 4 year old child) and would recommend the hotel equally for solo travelers, couples, or those with one young child. I've only stayed in the studio room; larger 1- and 2-bedroom suites are available as well. Highly recommended.

JS Luwansa Hotel & Convention Center is a new and outstanding hotel in Jakarta. I stayed 2 nights there for business trip in middle of September in Jakarta. JS Luwansa's staff were very helpful and full of smiles as when I checked in at midnight but they have already prepared for my room so not taking time so much in reception area. Rooms are very clean,comfy,complete, and big. There are some facilities like free internet,hot shower,TV,telephone,as well as a sofa that is located near the window.The view of room is very nice because you can see highest office building and streets in Jakarta. Swimming pool is placed in 5th floor and you can swim and see the view directly. The buffet breakfast is assorted and mixed Asian and Western Food and you can request your fresh juices what you want and also the food is not the same as the day before. Overall, JS Luwansa can guarantee you to stay with a comfortable, pleasurable, and reliable. I would like to comeback to this hotel next time.

With no outside view and only a brick wall in front of the window it makes for a quiet location to sleep but not very suitable for sitting and working. The lack of street noise is a big plus for me when in Jakarta for work. The rest is a standard hotel, good service, fair price, clean, full range for breakfast, less than an hour from the airport and surrounded by cafes, small bars, restaurants and services. Can't really go to wrong if you accept Mall of Indonesia can be, like much of Jakarta, a magnet for traffic.

GMJH is in North Jakarta, some call it a red-light area which is a bit of an over-exaggeration. This hotel is full of many many regular guests. Easy to get to and from the airport, traffic around this area is not as severe as Central Jakarta/SCBD. Staff are happy and welcoming - some of the comprehensively best I have come across in many hotels in Asia. The breakfast is large - even the fake bacon was quite reasonably edible. Rooms are spacious and gorgeously new with large rain-head showers. Service is prompt.... This is hotels as they should be, Gold Standard - but at a very reasonable price...!! Will be my Jakarta Hotel from now on.

This 4 star hotel is still new. Well maintained, elegant interrior and clean but a deluxe room is slightly small. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, except the receptionist who checked us in, displayed cold first impression. It is located at a most convenient spot, within reach to all the famous shopping blocks, Pasar Raya, Blok M Plaza, Blok M Mall, in just between 10 to15 mins walk. This hotel provided a very fast free wifi compared to most of others 4 star hotels in Indonesia. Breakfast are moderate, with few local selections. Different menus on day today should be introduced, to start our day more exciting.

Staying here felt like being in a luxury 5 star hotel without the 5 star prices. The room facilities are excellent. The morning breakfast choice is outstanding. The swimming pool and spa facilities are first class. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and constantly helpful. The only issue is the traffic, but if you accept that Jakarta traffic is bad everywhere, then this hotel is a gem within the south of the city.

It's located in a strategic location according to our opinion as a family. Jayakarta Hotel Jakarta offers a superb hospitalit, the staff even took us for a short tour checking the room availability before the check-in time occurs, friendly pricing. Our kids enjoyed their moment staying here. However, we must recognized the condition that it's an old hotel. So, there are several things to upgrade i.e. renewing the AC system, refurnishing the old furniture, providing the hot bath 24 hours, rearranging the swimming pool. Anyway, overall we'd love to go back to Jayakarta Hotel Jakarta sometimes in the future.

If you go outside of Ancol in a Taxi then don't forget to take your re entry vouchers from the hotel with you as the boom gate security will make you pay 15000 rp per person to get back in, not expensive just annoying. I refused to pay as I had my hotel door key card and Ancol entry - exit card ,but they still wanted me to pay again which I refused , then the female security boom gate guard tried to get the Taxi to back up , which we ignored and drove on through. Apart from that I will definatly stay there again on my next trip to Indo.

It’s at Jalan Thamrin, a well known road in Jakarta and very close to Sarinah mall where you have several restaurants, bars and shops. Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia are situated at walking distance. 2 - Breakfast - Best in town! They serve the best Rendang we ever had, a must try! And there’s enough choice when you prefer something lighter. But above all: 3 - The people - The staff at Four Points were the most friendly, social, helpful and creative (thanks for the towel elefant and swans!) we ever met. The door man, desk staff, cook (thanks for making the Rendang again at our request!), house keeping and also management made our stay unforgettable. It was my second time staying at Novotel Mangga Dua. I like it very much there because of its perfect location. The Hotel keeps the same level of service and the people (personnel) remain the same - helpful, smiling and attending to my needs and queries promptly. They are very professional in handling things. However, during my second visit, I found that tiny ants got into the room. The tap water as well as the water for the toilet bowl is a little bit too yellowish. Anyway, this hotel still be my number-one choice hotel in Jakarta and, improvements on the shortcomings will be a good way to go!

The swimming pool is large, the room (even for standard) is comfortable with complete facility eg. hair dryer, electric iron and ironing desk, and also variety of meals for breakfast. There are also 2 unique old big trees in front of the hotel appropriate with its name, even though it is said that only this hotel in Jakarta which have trees like this. The strange thing when booking this hotel with Agoda is there are too many room-choices which could makes you confused basically just to differentiate room with or no breakfast, or granted breakfast for one person only, or with discount to purchase additional breakfast.

This hotel, located in Kunningan Area, a busy place for business and shopping is close to most of amenities like shopping malls, and business district by taxi. Also the hotel provides free shuttle to city centre on weekends. The services of staffs are great, especially the relation officer named 'Indah' was very kind and helpful toward visitors. Hotel facilities including fitness clubs, breakfast buffets and bars were great and the lobby was comfortable for small biz meetings. The room was big and the bathroom was well equipped and easy to use. My favorite hotel in Jakarta. Wanna come again.

The Aryaduta used to be a Hyatt, then I think they cancelled the management contract. However, it remains a very good, centrally located business hotel and a great deal at the price since they still try to maintain the same standards. More convenient for those visiting government offices than businesses, because it is rather located on the edge of the central government quarter rather than in the downtown commercial district (SCBD)a couple of kilometres away. I have lived a couple of years in Jakarta, still visit reasonably often, and typically stay at the Aryaduta if I need a hotel in Jakarta.

A luxury hotel was waiting for our arrival to release tiredness, spoiled us with cheerfulness through the facilities in the hotel. Yes, we have all what we imagined. Convenience of parking, hotel staff friendliness, enjoyment of May Star restaurant quality food, nice view of the old town that we got from the hotel's 14th floor, cleanliness is very detail in every corner of the room number 1419. No doubt, this is one of the best hotels in Jakarta. Until finally we thought, why just one night?

I went on a business trip last week and was looking for a nice hotel around the Thamrin area. Mandarin came up first on TripAdvisor ranking for hotels in Jakarta, so I trust right away it could not be so bad. I was worried that it would be an old, boring hotel but I ended up being blown away by the classy design and comfort that the room offers. For superior type, the room is very (I mean "very") spacey. It felt like a deluxe type or even more. The room is very much designed for business travellers, with work area and couches. The bathroom is nothing to be complained about either -and oh, there is a jacuzzi-like bath tub separated from the room with a glass window which makes the room feels even more spacious (you can close iy of course). My room was on a high floor and oversaw the HI roundabout, such a nice way to watch the city traffic in the comfort of luxury-class hotel.

The good thing about taking 5-star hotels in Jakarta is that 1/ all taxi drivers know them (even if they don't speak English) and 2/ they are cheap (at least on weekends they are). This is the 2nd 5-star hotel I take for a weekend in Jakarta and I really liked this one. The all-u-can-eat Dim Sum buffet downstairs isn't great (although not bad) and the breakfast buffet has more than one could eat. BlueBird taxis always at the doorstep, overall I really would recommend this hotel! I had the Tiffany suite on 23rd floor and it was really worth the money, super spacious and comfortable. Great hotel with nice staff!

I and my friends were staying at The Westin Jakarta for the past 2 nights and it was very great. We did enjoy the most of our time with the high-quality facilities and services offered by the hotel. One of pur favorite things was spending our time at the Westin Club, spending our leisure time enjoying the beautiful scenery of Jakarta from the 65th floor. The same also goes to our Henshin experience. We were so amazed with the place and the breath-taking view of the night Jakarta. Definitely the best option for those who want to experience such a luxurious getaway or staycation in Jakarta after a very rough week.

This was my second stay at Le Meridien and both were equally good. The hotel is clean and well-designed, and staff are always friendly and helpful. Unlike some of the other major 5 star hotels in Jakarta Le Meridien is not directly connected to any of the major shopping malls, but located centrally between the main retail and central business districts it is very easy to get around, within the limits of Jakarta traffic. Luxury and customer service are easy to find in Jakarta, and priced somewhat lower than other 5 star hotels, Le Meridien offers reasonable value for money with great comfort.

There are lots of hidden gems in the city, e.g. old chinese temple in the middle of Chinatown (Glodok), small cafes and coffee places scattered all over the city that offer more than just starbucks or big label coffeeshops.

Jakarta also have a sightseeing bus tour, it's a free one and they have a guide also.

Absolutely everything. The staff were amazingly helpful, facilities spotless. Rooms were massive and they accommodated special requests without hesitation. Pool was lovely and clean. Can't beat the location of this place. Across the street from Grand Indonesia and 5mins from Plaza Indonesia. Was easy to get a grab to get around the city. The staff were all friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We got upgraded from a studio to a one bedroom which was more than enough space for 2 of us. Was nice to have the living room where we got our night massage organised by the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and with good supply of hot water throughout. The wifi had excellent speed and connectivity. We didn't avail of the breakfast because we had a kitchen in our room which we wanted. We prepared our own breakfasts with ingredients from the supermarket in Grand Indonesia (Food Hall). The pool was closed due to the rainy weather which was understandable. Would definitely recommend this place!

In today’s article, I will help you to find the best places to stay in Jakarta. I will share with you what I believe are the best and safest areas to stay in Jakarta for first-timers and tourists, along with a helpful map and areas to avoid. 

I’ll also recommend some of the best hotels in Jakarta for visitors with various budgets and then share where I stayed in Jakarta. Before getting into the details, let’s look at some facts about Jakarta.

Jakarta is the largest city  and capital of Indonesia situated on the northwest coast of Java. It has a rich history that dates back to the 4th century when it was a part of the Tarumanagara Kingdom. 

Over the centuries, it has been influenced by various cultures, including Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic civilizations. The Dutch East India Company colonized Jakarta in the 17th century, and it became an important center of trade during the colonial period.

Jakarta is known for its vibrant street life, shopping malls, cultural attractions, and a mix of modern and traditional architecture. The Old Town (Kota Tua), National Monument (Monas), Istiqlal Mosque, and the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah are among the notable landmarks in the city.

Kota Tua is Jakarta’s historic old town, featuring Dutch colonial architecture and museums. It’s a great choice if you’re interested in history and culture. There are also cafes and art galleries in the area.

Kemang is known for its vibrant nightlife, trendy restaurants, and cafes. It’s a popular area among expatriates and locals for socializing. While it’s generally safe, like any nightlife district, it’s essential to be aware of your surroundings, especially at night.

As a tourist in Jakarta, it’s advisable to exercise caution in certain parts of West Jakarta, such as Tambora, known for higher crime rates. The infamous nightlife district of Blok M in South Jakarta may pose risks, especially late at night.

During my trip to Jakarta, I stayed at the Stanley Wahid Hasyim Jakarta . It was a great value for money hotel located in a central location in the Menteng district. It is close to Jalan Jaksa, Jalan Sabang and Sarinah Mal. The room was clean with basic amenities.

1. menteng .

Menteng is a great area to stay in Jakarta, especially for first-timers who prefer a quieter and more residential atmosphere with a touch of historical charm. 

This area is home to numerous cultural and historical attractions such as Taman Suropati (Suropati Park), Presidential Palace (Istana Merdeka), Museum Nasional (National Museum of Indonesia), and the Proclamation Monument.

There are various dining options, including both local and international restaurants, providing a diverse culinary experience. Cikini Raya street has a vibrant culinary scene, with numerous cafes and restaurants.

You can go shopping at the Jalan Surabaya Antique Market, where you can find a variety of vintage items, including art, furniture, and traditional Indonesian crafts.

Best places to stay in Jakarta in Menteng for first-time travelers:

• Luxury ($$$): Mandarin Oriental Jakarta , great 5-star good value for money hotel in a prime location, close to shopping malls. The rooms are spacious with first class amenities. It has an Outdoor swimming pool, 6 restaurants, free parking, and Excellent Breakfast.
• Mid-range ($$): Ashley Wahid Hasyim Jakarta , popular 4-star  good value for money accommodation located in a central area, short distance from Sarinah shopping center, Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. Close to Gambir Train Station and a reasonable taxi price to get to other places. It has Free airport shuttle, Free parking, and a good breakfast.
• Budget ($): Konko Hostel Jakarta , great value for money backpacker hostel, located within 10-15 mins walk from Gambir Station. It has a tour desk, luggage storage space, and a 24-hour front desk. Close to the National Monument, Istiqlal Grand Mosque, and Sarinah. 

2. Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD)

SCBD is an excellent choice for those who want a modern, cosmopolitan experience with easy access to business facilities, shopping, dining, and entertainment.

SCBD is Jakarta’s central business and financial district, making it an ideal choice for business travelers. Many corporate offices, banks, and business centers are located in this area.

SCBD is home to upscale shopping malls, such as Pacific Place and Senayan City, offering a wide range of international and local brands, dining options, and entertainment facilities.

The district boasts a diverse array of restaurants, cafes, and bars, catering to different tastes. It’s a great place for those who enjoy a mix of culinary experiences and nightlife.

• Luxury ($$$): Four Seasons Hotel Jakarta , 5-star accommodation, good value for money according to guests staying in booking.com. It is a short taxi ride from SCBD, Grand Indonesia, and Kuningan Business District. It has excellent breakfast,  24-hour security, and laundry services.
• Mid-range ($$): Citadines Sudirman Jakarta , great accommodation in a good location in the middle of everything. It has an Outdoor swimming pool, paid airport shuttle services, and comfortable family rooms.
• Budget ($): Ayaka Suites , 3-star hotel in a nice location close to malls and restaurants. They have a Good gym and swimming pool. 

3. Old Town/ Kota Tua 

Old Town is a popular destination for both locals and tourists interested in history and architecture. It provides a glimpse into Jakarta’s colonial past.

In Kota Tua, you’ll find well-preserved colonial-era buildings from the Dutch East Indies period. The area has been a center of commerce dating back to the 17th century when the Dutch established Batavia (now Jakarta) as the capital of the Dutch East Indies.

History buffs can explore many museums, including the Jakarta History Museum (Museum Fatahillah), Fine Art and Ceramics Museum, Wayang Museum, and Museum Bank Indonesia. 

While not exactly in Kota Tua but nearby, Sunda Kelapa is a historic harbor that dates back to the 5th century. It features traditional Indonesian sailing ships known as pinisi.

Kota Tua has a growing number of cafes, art galleries, and creative spaces, making it an interesting place for those interested in art and creativity.

The compact nature of Kota Tua makes it conducive to walking tours, allowing you to explore the area on foot and discover its unique charm.

Its location offers easy access to public transportation, making it a great base to explore the city. Also easy to reach the Mangga Dua Shopping Area, the airport, and the Glodok Electronic Center.
• Mid-range ($$): Holiday Inn & Suites Jakarta Gajah Mada , 4-star good value for money hotel,  located close to Museum Bank Indonesia, offering free private parking, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage for guests. Walking distance to Chinatown.
• Budget ($): Wonderloft Hostel , great backpacker accommodation located close to the toll road, where you can catch the free tour bus to the city center. Also near Kota Train Station and Kota Busway Station.

4. Kemang 

Kemang is an excellent option for those who enjoy a lively atmosphere, trendy cafes, and a vibrant nightlife scene. 

Kemang is renowned for its lively nightlife scene, featuring bars, clubs, and entertainment venues. It’s a great choice for those who enjoy going out in the evenings.

Jakarta is sometimes overlooked by visitors bound for Java's ancient ruins or the beaches of Bali . But skipping this vast, teeming city in the far west of Java means missing out on world-class food and coffee, a historic old quarter, thriving art galleries, some of the best shopping in Southeast Asia and a surprisingly exciting nightlife scene.

First-time visitors to Jakarta can be overwhelmed; roads are heavily congested and the many skyscrapers are often screened by a thick layer of smog. However, there's plenty to see and just offshore are pollution-free beaches and islands. Here’s everything you need to know when visiting Jakarta for the first time.

When should I go to Jakarta?

Jakarta is hot and humid all year round, but there are two distinct seasons: a dry season that runs from May to September and a wet season running from October to April. The best time to visit is from June to August, when it’s dry and the humidity drops to manageable levels.

It’s also perfectly possible to visit in the rainy season, as the daily downpours tend only to last for a couple of hours, although flooding can affect parts of the city. Avoid traveling to Jakarta close to or during Ramadan, when many businesses close and hotels are booked out.

How long should I spend in Jakarta?

Most people visit Jakarta as part of a longer trip to Indonesia , spending just a few days exploring the capital’s historic center and checking out the excellent restaurant and cafe scene. But don't overlook the splendid shopping in street markets and the many malls, as well as the many worthy museums and lively art galleries.

Spend four days here and you'll have time for an overnight visit to the beaches of the Thousand Islands , where locals head for weekend breaks. The closest strands are just a 30-minute boat ride from Jakarta's Ancol Marina .

Is it easy to get to and around Jakarta?

About 35km (22 miles) west of the city, busy Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) is Jakarta’s principal airport, and all international and most domestic flights operate from here. Trains and buses link the airport to Jakarta or you can take a taxi.

Centrally located Stasiun Gambir is the main train station, with express services across Java operated by Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) . Trains are faster and more comfortable than buses, and sometimes cheaper. Passenger ships run by Pelni connect Jakarta with destinations across Indonesia.

With its expansive sprawl, Jakarta is not a walkable city and traffic jams are a way of life. The first line of Jakarta's evolving citywide MRT system runs south from Menteng in the center of the city. For destinations off the MRT line, visitors must depend on slow buses or taxis.

The most reliable taxi company is Bluebird – or use Grab , the Southeast Asian version of Uber. Go-Jek is a motorcycle ride service that’s useful for navigating central Jakarta’s jammed streets.

Top things to do in Jakarta

Old jakarta.

Start your tour in Kota in north Jakarta, where the vestiges of old Batavia – the colonial city built by the Dutch in the 18 th century – cluster around Taman Fatahillah , a charming cobblestone square surrounded by handsome European-style buildings. Bicycles can be hired around the square, making it easy to scoot around the surrounding lanes, where you’ll find cafes, restaurants and hotels.

Be sure to check out the old town hall, which dates back to 1627 and now houses the Jakarta History Museum . Also worth a trip is the nearby Museum Wayang , which has a superb collection of Javanese puppets (and sometimes puts on free puppet shows).

Merdeka Square

In central Jakarta, Merdeka Square is the political and spiritual heart of Indonesia. Looming over this vast expanse of grassy parkland is the 132m-high (433ft-high)  Monumen Nasional , also known as Monas or, more irreverently, ‘Sukarno’s final erection’, a reference to the former president of Indonesia who ordered its construction in 1961.

Merdeka Square makes a great retreat from Jakarta’s hectic streets and is always busy with locals kicking back. There are tremendous views across Jakarta from the top of the monument; get here early and avoid weekends if you don’t want to queue for hours.

Nearby are the Museum Nasional , which is packed with cultural treasures, and Galeri Nasional , with a big collection of work by Indonesian and foreign artists. Also here is Masjid Istiqial , Southeast Asia’s largest mosque (non-Muslims are welcome to visit if appropriately dressed).

From Taman Fatahillah, it's a short walk south to Glodok, which has been Jakarta’s Chinatown for centuries. Wandering the lanes and alleys here is an essential part of the Jakarta experience and there's great shopping here, including in the atmospheric and highly photogenic Petak Sembilan Market , where you'll find a sensory assault of fresh produce.

When you’re done sightseeing, pop into Kopi Es Tak Kie or Pantjoran Tea House , two of Glodok’s oldest cafes, for authentic Sino-Indonesian dishes and revitalizing coffee or tea.

Shopping in Jakarta's malls

Retail addicts have over 150 shopping malls to choose from in the Indonesian capital. The Grand Indonesia Mall and Plaza Senayan in Menteng are two of the most upmarket and popular malls, while the old-school Blok M mall is much more about local brands. For a more organic shopping experience, make tracks for the nearby Jalan Surabaya Flea Market, where antiques, textiles and all manner of collectible items await.

Jakarta's art and nightlife scenes

Head to Museum MACAN and the RUCI Art Space (in west and south Jakarta respectively) for insights into Indonesia’s burgeoning contemporary art scene. South Jakarta, and the area of Kebayoran Baru in particular, is where you'll find some of Jakarta’s finest bars and restaurants, such as the rooftop Skye , which offers stunning views and cocktails, or Plataran Dharmawangsa for traditional Javanese cuisine in a tranquil and refined setting.

The Thousand Islands

Finally, if you have the time, hop on a speedboat at Ancol Marina , a few kilometers north of Jakarta’s historic quarter, for a day tour or overnight visit to the Thousand Islands, where white-sand beaches and resorts create a striking contrast to Jakarta’s urban sprawl. You can also pop into the Ancol Luar Biasa fairground near the marina.

My favorite thing to do in Jakarta

I first discovered Glodok, Jakarta’s Chinatown, by accident, while idly strolling south from Taman Fatahillah on my first visit to Jakarta. These days, I return whenever I’m in town to explore Glodok’s narrow, winding alleys and streets lined with shophouses, hole-in-the-wall cafes and restaurants and Chinese Buddhist temples. It's the perfect antidote to the skyscrapers and shopping malls that dominate much of Jakarta.

There’s a timelessness to Glodok that’s unique in Jakarta, with the latest generation of Chinese-Indonesians carrying on businesses established by their ancestors generations earlier. I love the tang of spices floating in the air, the traditional pharmacies with their dark interiors and mysterious remedies and, above all, the delicious fusion dishes that can only be found in Glodok. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

How much money do I need for Jakarta?

Jakarta is the most expensive destination in Indonesia, up there with Bali, but it’s still cheap by Western standards, so long as you don’t need a four-star hotel and are happy to eat at neighborhood restaurants rather than upscale places.

Museum entrance fees and taxis are a bargain, but alcohol is more pricey than elsewhere in Southeast Asia, especially wine and spirits, as Muslim Indonesia slaps hefty taxes on it. Here's a guide to local costs.

How do I avoid traffic jams in Jakarta?

Avoid traveling in peak hours, from 7am to 9am and from 4pm to 6pm on weekdays. Roads are less congested on weekends, especially on Sundays. To avoid the traffic, choose a hotel near an MRT station so you can make as much use of public transport as possible.

What type of food will I find in Jakarta?

Jakarta is a great place to not only try Indonesia-wide staples such as nasi goreng (fried rice) but also to sample many different regional cuisines, whether that means Balinese classics such as babi guling (spiced spit-roast pig) or Sulawesi -style seafood, as well as Chinese-Indonesian fusion dishes. International food is also widely available for less adventurous palates. Don't drink tap water; purified water is available everywhere.

Do I need to bargain and tip in Jakarta?

Bargaining is the norm at Jakarta’s many markets, and it's also possible at some shopping malls. This is not what I wrote. I said that white guys have an advantage in Jakarta. It's hard to deny that, unless you are blind. It doesn't mean non-white can't be successful. A lot of them are. And I said Tinder is enough for handsome guys, but the rest might want to consider more traditional websites. Again, I just recommend a strategy and I'm not saying you can't get a girl if you are ugly. Just don't use an app where you are judged based on your look. That's just logic.

Great Guide. One other good piece of advice I would add is for withdrawing cash from ATM machines in Indonesia. As your bank may charge you high fees for using an overseas card to withdraw money it is best to try and withdraw the maximum amount each time you use an ATM. You generally have two dominations that are issued from ATM machines - IDR50,000 and IDR100,000 notes. There were normally be a sign on the machine showing which domination is issued. Generally the 50,000 ATM's well only issue a maximum of IDR1.5 Million (30 notes) while the 100,000 ATM's vary from between IDR 2 million to IDR 3 million. For best value you should try and find a 100,000 machine that issues the maximum amount of IDR 3 Million (30 notes). Some bank 100,000 ATM's I know that allow the maximum are the following: 1. CIMB 2. Permata 3. HSBC 4. Citibank 5. Commonwealth Bank The advice is especially important If you make it to the underground clubs of North Jakarta to party hard as there are somethings you may require that can only be purchased using cash and even if cards are accepted it may be best to use cash because of a risk of card skimming in the more seedy establishments.

Single guys /I am white, if that important/ are very welcome and a subject of special treatment. Would recommend Jakarta for maybe 7 days partying, to complete the week cycle. I managed to visit some, but unfortunately not all the landmarks. So, went to - Dragonfly, CJ, BATS, Colloseum, Golden crown, Illigals, Immigrant, Cloud, and hotel-club Classic. CJ and BATS totally correspond to the reputation, even the atmosphere is good, relaxed and working girls not aggressive, but very present and attentive. CJ has a better design and more space. Illigals and Colloseum are way to dark, noisy and withe extreme majority of guys or girls withing groups. Maybe depends on the day of the week. Dragonfly was really great and expensive. Taxi drivers did not know Empirica, so I went to Immigrant which was disappointing. And finally Classic hotel is really extraordinary. The choice of girls on all 3 levels is exceptional, and anybody can find at least 15-20 very good looking girls of choice. On the minus side are mamasans, totally unbearable, aggressive, annoying, evil looking, frowning. Maybe only on the ground floor you can partially avoid this by sitting at the bar and ignoring.

Hotel Accor Tawarkan Paket Menginap dan Tiket Java Jazz Festival 2024

KOMPAS.com - Sejumlah hotel di bawah naungan grup perhotelan Accor menawarkan paket menginap dan tiket festival untuk Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2024 mendatang, tepatnya dari Jumat (24/5/2024) sampai Minggu (26/5/2024).

Adapun penawaran ini berlaku untuk member ALL ( Accor Live Limitless ), program loyalitas dari Accor.

"Kami sangat bersemangat untuk menyambut para member setia ALL dan mengundang semua pengunjung festival untuk menikmati penawaran khusus dari program loyalitas gaya hidup kami," ucap Chief Operating Officer for Accor’s Premium, Midscale, and Economy Division in Asia, Garth Simmons lewat keterangan resmi, Selasa (30/4/2024).

Simmons melanjutkan, Jakarta International BNI Java Jazz Festival 2024 bukan hanya acara, tapi juga platform untuk membangun hubungan dalam komunitas jaz dan musik.

Cara dapat paket menginap dan tiket Java Jazz Festival 2024

Masyarakat tidak dipungut biaya untuk mendaftar jadi member ALL. 

Kunjungilah laman resmi  ALL.com  sampai Rabu (15/5/2024) untuk mendaftar dan memesan paket khusus berupa tiket festival dengan menginap di sejumlah hotel Accor di Jakarta.

Hotel-hotel tersebut yaitu Grand Mercure Jakarta Kemayoran, Mercure Jakarta Batavia, Novotel Jakarta Mangga Dua Square, dan ibis Styles Jakarta Mangga Dua Square.

Mulai Minggu (28/4/2024), anggota ALL dapat menggunakan poin reward mereka untuk membeli tiket harian atau tiga hari festival, juga tiket special show atau paket menginap beserta tiket harian di hotel-hotel Accor tersebut.
