Must-know: All-Inclusive Day Pass for Cruisers

These day-passes are offered in different packages and have, consequentially, different prices. Cruisers can choose between All-Inclusive day-passes with unlimited food and drinks, just an entrance access with open-bar or unlimited buffet, and even VIP services.

There are three main types of places offering a day-pass - Beach Clubs, Water Parks and Resorts (or Hotels). All have different characteristics and ambiances allowing the cruise traveler to choose between fun-party atmosphere, laid-back relaxation or family orientated depending on what you wish to do.

Irrespectively of where cruise ships dock, there is a good number of clubs, hotels, and parks to choose from close to any of the three terminals.

Some of these places are offered onboard your cruise ship including transportation and, usually, in combination with excursions to other attractions. But, if you just want to spend the day on a serviced beach with a good restaurant, bar, different activities and services, there are many online services that offer all sorts of day-passes.

However, you should be aware that transportation is not included in the day-pass. The good news is that there are lots of taxis available as soon as cruisers exit any of the terminals. Taxi fares are listed and reasonably priced in particular if you are in a group of 4 or more.

It is a great resort for adults to relax in a very low-key ambiance. If cruising with kids, it should be noted that Sabor is a family-friendly resort.

Cozumel Cruises

If you’re thinking of cruising, there’s a very good chance you’re considering a Carnival cruise. Growing since its founding in 1972, Carnival Cruise Line — “The World’s Most Popular Cruise Line®” — now carries millions of passengers every year. Carnival's newest additions, Carnival Celebration, Carnival Luminosa, and Carnival Venezia each bring their own twist to cruising.

In a nutshell, Carnival is all about fun vacations at sea and ashore! A Carnival cruise features day and nighttime entertainment like stage shows, musical performances, deck parties, casinos and more. (Like what? Like waterslides!) They invite their guests to come as they are, and make everyone feel right at home with comfy staterooms, attentive service, casual and elegant dining, plus a variety of bars and gathering places indoors and out. Guests enjoy this unique experience against the backdrop of some of the world’s most beautiful seaports.

Carnival's 27 ships operate 2- to 31-day voyages, departing from every coast in the U.S.. While they’re best known for Caribbean cruises, they sail to other exotic and amazing destinations like Mexico, Alaska, The Bahamas, Europe and Hawaii. Choose Fun!

Cozumel & Cancun, Cenotes

YUCATAN DO IT

Cozumel & cancun cruises.

Dive into bright-blue waters, Mayan ruins and spicy specialties in Cozumel and Cancun.

Cruise to Cozumel and Cancun, two of the most-visited destinations on Mexico's Yucatan peninsula, where there's a lot more to them than beautiful beaches and world-class nightlife. Add an ancient component to your Yucatan adventure with excursions to the Mayan sites at Chichen Itza and Tulum. Or work off your margaritas with a spelunking expedition inside a Cenote cave. Experience cuisine, through stateside dishes like chile relleno and ceviche, but you'll also taste more regional-specific ingredients like local sour oranges and achiote paste, a bright-red blend of annato seeds, cumin and other spices. Discover the magic with a Cozumel and Cancun cruise.

Snorkeling & Swimming with Whale Sharks in Cozumel, Mexico

EMBRACE THE BLUES

Your eyes weren't playing tricks as your cruise ship approached the Yucatan: The best Cozumel and Cancun cruises take you to stunning beaches, with perfectly white sand and water so clear and blue you'll think you're on a movie set. While you'll likely stay close to where the masses are in Cancun's Zona Hotelera, Cozumel's beaches are easier to explore, from bustling Dzul Ha to quiet Chen Rio.

Girl Snorkeling in Cozumel, Mexico

DISCOVER THE DEPTHS

One of the best benefits of the clear Caribbean waters off the Yucatan is world-class scuba diving. At Cozumel's Santa Rosa Wall, you can see large schools of grouper fish, while the Cancun Underwater Museum reveals a world of sub-surface art. The water in the Cenote caverns located in the inland part of the peninsula is just as clear— just be prepared for the close quarters of the caves.

ANCIENT ENCOUNTERS

Head south to see the Mayan ruins of Tulum, which sit right on a beach less than a two-hour drive from Cancun. After you finish exploring, sit down for a beachside Corona at one of the bars just outside the historical site. Or drive two hours inland to Chichen Itza: Its step pyramids are one of the greatest architectural achievements of the ancient world. Shop for Mayan-inspired trinkets from one of the friendly local sellers.

Yucatan Peninsula Town Near Cozumel and Cancun

GET YOUR CULTURE FIX

Cancun and Cozumel's town centers remind you that these places aren't just beach hot spots — they're every bit as "real Mexico" as cities in the country's interior. In Cancun, visit food-truck filled Parque Las Palpas, or stop into the shops and cafes of vibrant Avenida Tulum. In Cozumel, check out the understated, elegant San Miguel Cathedral, or learn about the local ecosystem at the Museum of Cozumel Island.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO Cozumel Cancun Cruises Insider

Mexico is ready for you to explore at any time of year. In general, the weather is best between December and April — there's little rain, and the temperatures are very comfortable. The wet season starts in May and ends in October, while hurricane season (affecting mostly the Caribbean side) starts in June and runs until November.

When you travel to Mexico, one of the best ways to enjoy the country is by immersion. Try the local food, shop the local markets, and choose excursions that allow you to spend time getting to know a specific neighborhood, historic site or natural wonder.

Caribbean Wildlife Encounters

Brushing up on your Spanish will make your life in the Yucatan a lot easier, even if this region is the most Anglophone-friendly part of Mexico.

For a more local adventure during your stay, have any local hotel (you don't need to be a guest in most cases) order you a taxi to Cancun city.

Enjoy Cozumel's famed scuba diving, even if you're not licensed, thanks to the "SNUBA" experience offered at Chankanaab Park.

CUISINE CHILE OUT

Many of the most popular local Yucatan dishes will be familiar to American palates, particularly if you reside in the southern part of the country. Still, even if you recognize the names of these dishes, you've never tasted versions as delicious as you find in Cancun and Cozumel, where the cuisine is defined by habanero chiles, citrus, smoke and the ever-present achiote paste.

Authentic Cozumel Shrimp Tacos

There are many kinds of ceviche — sushi-grade raw fish marinated in citrus juice — but you can always go the classic route and choose ceviche simple, which pairs simple white fish (usually tilapia) with lime juice, tomatoes, onion and cilantro. Or order one with a more exotic choice of protein — ceviche de pulpo features tender octopus.

Mexican Chile Relleno

CHILE RELLENO

Mexican chefs are experts at taking food to the next level, which is exactly the point of the chile relleno. There are many variants of the dish, though all involve filling a poblano pepper with spiced meat and cheese. One popular variant includes ground pork, raisins and nuts.

Chilaquiles, Traditional Mexican Breakfast

CHILAQUILES

Chilaquiles, which you can essentially think of as a Mexican stir-fry, spotlights red and green Mexican chiles, though they're only one component of this culinary mashup. Many variations ofchilaquiles exist, but you can count on having eggs, tortilla strips, onions, cilantro and cheese in every bite.

RELATED PORTS

Continue to experience the charm of Mexico by cruising to Progreso, which is also located on the Yucatan peninsula, or Veracruz, which is further up the coast. Many cruises to Cancun and Cozumel cruise ports continue on to other in the Western Caribbean like Belize City, Grand Cayman and Montego Bay.

TOKYO (AP) — Asian shares mostly declined Thursday as investors awaited a flood of global earnings reports, including updates from U.S. tech companies known as the “Magnificent Seven.”

Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 slid 1.4% in morning trading to 37,931.81. South Korea’s Kospi dropped nearly 1.0% to 2,649.96. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 0.5% to 17,282.67, while the Shanghai Composite edged 0.2% higher, to 3,049.90.

Trading was closed in Australia for a national holiday, Anzac Day.

Attention is also turning to the Bank of Japan, whose two-day monetary policy meeting started Thursday.

“For the record, heading into tomorrow’s policy decision, exceptional Japanese yen weakness is the agitated elephant in the room for the BoJ,” Tan Jing Yi of Mizuho Bank said in a commentary.

In currency trading, the U.S. dollar rose to 155.46 Japanese yen from 155.31 yen. The euro cost $1.0707, up from $1.0697.

The yen has been trading at 155 yen-levels lately, its lowest level in 34 years. That helps Japanese exporters by raising the value of their overseas earnings, but it also raises the price of imports. Speculation has been growing Japan may intervene to prop up the yen.

On Wall Street, the S&P 500 was virtually flat and edged up by 1.08, or less than 0.1%, to 5,071.63. It had jumped sharply in the first two days of the week to claw back nearly two-thirds of last week’s steep loss .

The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 42.77, or 0.1%, to 38,460.92, and the Nasdaq composite added 16.11, or 0.1%, to 15,712.75.

Tesla jumped 12.1% after saying the night before that it would accelerate production of new, more affordable vehicles , which investors have been hoping will kickstart growth. The announcement helped investors look past the 55% drop in profit that Tesla reported.

Tesla is the first of the group of stocks among the Magnificent Seven to report its results for the start of 2024. The focus is on the small group of stocks because they drove most of the U.S. stock market’s gain last year, and they’ll need to perform to justify their high prices.

Meta Platforms also reported its latest results after trading ended Wednesday. Alphabet and Microsoft will follow it a day later.

The hope is that profit growth will broaden beyond the Magnificent Seven to other types of companies, in large part because a remarkably solid U.S. economy. They’ll likely need to deliver fatter profits if they want their stock prices to rise. That’s because they’re unlikely to get much help from the other lever that can lift stock prices: interest rates.

“A strong earnings season looks likely to help restore market confidence,” according to Solita Marcelli, chief investment officer Americas at UBS Global Wealth Management.

A report Wednesday said orders for machinery, airplanes and other long-lasting manufactured goods were stronger last month than expected. A recent string of such reports has quashed hopes that the Federal Reserve may deliver the three cuts to interest rates this year that it had earlier signaled.

Boeing lost 2.9% despite reporting results that weren’t as bad as analysts feared . The company, which is battling criticism about the safety of its airplanes, said it’s taking steps to improve its manufacturing quality, which has slowed down production.

Teledyne Technologies tumbled 10.9% for one of the market’s largest losses after the seller of digital imaging sensors, cameras and other equipment reported weaker profit and revenue than forecast. It said demand from the industrial automation and test and measurement markets was weaker than it expected.

On the winning side of the market, Hasbro jumped 11.9% after the toy and game company reported better profit and revenue for the latest quarter than analysts expected. It benefited from growth delivered by its Baldur Gate 3 and Magic: The Gathering games, as well as by its Peppa Pig content.

Texas Instruments climbed 5.6% after reporting stronger profit and revenue for the latest quarter than forecast. Boston Scientific was another one of the stronger forces pushing upward on the S&P 500. It rose 5.7% after topping forecasts for profit and revenue.

In energy trading, benchmark U.S. crude declined 15 cents to $82.66 a barrel. Brent crude, the international standard, fell 14 cents to $87.88 a barrel.
