Let me just tell you.... For all of you who are on the fence of whether or not to use a travel agent.... Do It!! Jill@lake Zurich travel planned the absolute perfect family vacation for us. She effortlessly planned the vacation to a T! She set up a nonstop transfer to the resort, great recommendations for the resort, set us up in preferred status and was there to answer any question. With the constant changes of COVID restrictions she was able to answer and ensure me of the process to get into Mexico and back home. I'm so thankful and will be using her again for our next family vacation.

LZ Travel helped us with our honeymoon to Hawaii. Flying direct to certain islands, then island jumping, and flying back home with minimal layovers (+ all other accommodations) makes it difficult to find an economical option, but Dana met with me and made it very simple. Everything went smoothly while we were in HI and we were very happy with all the recommendations she provided. I even checked our prices after the fact with a generic online travel service and she ended up saving us a couple hundred dollars. We will definitely be contacting them again for our next complex/in-depth travel plans.

Best experience ever with a travel agent. Dana Innocenti really cares about you and wants you to have the trip of a lifetime. She was great helping us figure out where we should go and advised us where we should stay. Dana went the extra mile when it came to getting us incredible upgrades and helping us celebrate a birthday. I really can't say enough about Dana and how she cares from the beginning until the end. I can't imagine ever using anyone else and will recommend her to everyone I know.

Since I wrote this review, we have booked 4 cruises. These cruises were booked after completing the Mediterranean cruise, the one booked with LZ travel. HAL msVeendam Mar 2014 - Panama Canal revisited - Booking Total: $16,030.48 NCL Breakaway July 2014 - NYC to Bermuda - Family Cruise - Booking Total: $14,634.55 RCCL Radiance of the Seas Jun 2013 - Alaska - Family Cruise - Booking Total: $12,104.25 HAL msNoordam Feb 2013 - Southern Caribbean - Booking Total: $8,614.00 That totals to $51,383.26 in lost revenue for this travel agent. All because of one individual who provided less than adequate service. After a phone call to the owner, Sue, she assigned us to a new agent, but never came through with any ship credits that the first individual suggested was possible or an apology. Again, if you are a novice, and need hand holding to accomplish your travel plans, this agency may be of value. For most experienced cruisers, they would not put up with the way I was treated and would move on.

We are sorry this traveler did not feel he received enough from us. We take pride in the value and advice we offer, not necessarily the gifts that may be added to a trip. It is with great regret that this is the only comment showing. I hope the readers will look at the filtered yelp comments for more opinions on our business.

Lake Zurich travel has friendly employees, but the follow through with their commitments is less than adequate and there is at least one employee who does not return phone calls or answer emails except on her own schedule. So for us the experience was not good. We solicited Lake Zurich Travel because we wanted to deal with someone local. In the past all of our cruises have been booked through a large travel agent in Seattle that has Virtuoso and Conde Nast Traveler affiliations. We always book the best suite accommodation or close to it depending on what is available. We sought a change because dealing with a firm in Seattle while we are in Chicago makes for timing issues on occasions. We have somewhat extensive cruise experience with 17 cruises since 2002 and some 191 days at sea. When we contacted Lake Zurich travel, we asked about their policy regarding shipboard credits before we booked our recent cruise on the NCL Epic - a cruise for 5 in one of the Haven family suites. I was led to believe that they provided a ship credit to their customers as a gift of appreciation, the same as our Seattle based TA provided us consistently for all of our past cruises. We just completed our Western Mediterranean cruise and nothing was provided by Lake Zurich travel. The credit we did receive was the one provided by NCL at the time of booking which everyone receives if they booked at that time. That was a disappointment. Don't be fooled. There are no real discounts in the cruise industry if you are buying the best accommodations on the ship. For me, I feel that I gave them a "shot" at capturing our business for the future. No ship credit, phone calls as well as email not returned in a reasonable time has caused us to return to our former TA. The services for LZ travel may be fine for people who do not have the resources or experience at doing their own travel planning. All LZ travel did for us was to contact NCL and book the cruise in the suite number that I told them to book and collect the NCL commission. Yes, we feel there were misrepresentations made, thus our disappointment. Do not use LZ travel unless you are a "rookie" at cruising and even with that - deal with the cruise line direct rather than a no-value added company like Lake Zurich Travel.

I love to travel but planning it is super overwhelming to me. Jill and the team at Lake Zurich Travel completely eliminate that stress for me. Jill helped me so much with our ten year anniversary trip. She really cared and listened to what we were looking for and helped us plan the most perfect getaway. Thank you so much. You guys are the best!!!!

I'd had a distressing experience with Lake Zurich Travel and Cruise, all the more so because everything prior to that had been first class. When the owner, Sue, learned what happened, she called me and offered a heartfelt apology. Nothing is perfect in business as in life, but it's reassuring to hear from someone who cares enough to make it right. Thank you, Sue

I'd spent the morning following up with local businesses who support our charitable causes. When I arrived at Lake Zurich Travel I was summoned to the back office, where the owner castigated me for not awarding her business a trip that we were considering as a raffle prize. She told me that I had not "followed up with her" (neither she nor her staff had followed up with me either). I told her the award was still pending because of budgetary concerns, but the scolding continued. Had I been there as a personal customer - and I have spent thousands of dollars of my own money there - I would have shared a piece of my mind. Suffice it to say there are many, many great Lake Zurich businesses who support local volunteers and local causes for the good it does the community. There is a tiny minority who do it for the good it does their business. I'd like to be wrong about Lake Zurich Travel, but the travel business is all about taking care of people. You don't berate customers because you feel the customer is the one who owes you.

Lake Zurich Travel & Cruise helped my family and I plan our trip to Australia to visit my daughter studying abroad last spring 2015. Despite us waiting only two months before our trip to actually plan it, Petra pulled the trip together with ease and incredible efficiency! Petra put together informative literature and online resources. Although I read all the parent-study abroad notes, it failed in comparison with the wealth of knowledge and guidance that Petra assisted us with. Our flight, our transportation made easy by Lake Zurich Tavel and Cruise. The hotels and adventures planned to perfection and made our experience the trip of a lifetime! Although I'm capable and have often made my own travel arrangements online, I appreciate working with a local travel agent that can answer any questions, offer tips of the trade I am sometimes unaware of, and who can be a contact to resolve issues that may arise whilst traveling. Our family has booked cruises and other vacations and never had any issues.

My friend and I booked a trip to Germany and Austria. Dana helped us pick a tour, and off we went. She also asked the airline to bump us to business class if they had the chance and they did! She also arranged for a private transfer to and from the airports. We thought that the tour people would be taking us back to the hotel, good thing we had the private transfer because we would have waited for another 3 hours before our whole group got in! And Dana did all of this on her own! Totally unexpected and above and beyond the call of duty! Hopefully will be able to do another trip in the future and will book with Dana and Lake Zurich Travel!
