Join us in celebrating James Harvey.
James is a respected leader in the tourism and hospitality industry. In his current role, he oversees the financial activity of Ottawa’s official destination organization, which spearheads sales and marketing initiatives for attracting visitors to Canada’s capital, while also making investments in the long-term development of the destination.
James is a seasoned hotelier with over 30 years of hospitality accounting experience in some of the most challenging and exciting markets in North America. During his tenure with Fairmont Hotels, he has held Director of Finance positions at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the Canadian Rockies, and the Fairmont Hamilton Princess in Bermuda.
James studied at the University of Guelph as part of the Hospitality, Food & Tourism Management program and has held membership with the Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals.
“I am truly blessed to have such a successful career in the hospitality industry. I met my wife in Lake Louise, my son is a New Yorker, and I have made many lifelong friends that are part of this industry. I hold my current team at Ottawa Tourism close to my heart. They are the best!”
