Shimla sightseeing and Kufri excursion

Wake up to the early morning breakfast and continue to get ready for going out on the local sightseeing to places like, Jakhoo temple that is dedicated to Lord Hanuman at an altitude of 2455 m above the sea level followed by your drive to Kufri that is sports capital of Shimla that has wonderful sightseeing ventures for the climatic conditions it has, and also the adventurous sports it holds. Hadimba Temple: Located amidst the snow-covered hills of Manali, the Hadimba Temple is a unique shrine dedicated to Hidimba Devi, who was the wife of Bhima and mother of Ghatothkach. Surrounded by gorgeous cedar forests, this beautiful shrine is built on a rock which is believed to be in the image of goddess Hidimba herself. Manu temple: The Manu Temple is said to be the only temple dedicated to the King Manu, who was later known as Sage Manu in India. The temple is a pagoda structure that offers a glimpse into history and spirituality through its fascinating architecture. Some may find it difficult to reach Manu Temple because there is only a narrow road that leads to the shrine; however, the journey is certainly pleasant.  Van Vihar: Adorned with sky touching deodar trees, Van Vihar National Park is located near the Mall Road making it easily accessible. The favourite attraction of this park is a man-made lake that is open for boating. Manali Club House: The Club House in Manali is an amusement and adventure retreat set up on the banks of the Manalsu Nalla, a branch of the breathtaking Beas River. It has indoor and outdoor activities like Billiards, Carom, Video Games, Table Tennis, Roller skating rink, River crossing, Go-karting, Zip lining and Ropeway. It also has a restaurant and bar along with some small stalls for local shopping. Manikaran: Manikaran is  a famous pilgrimage destination for both Sikhs and Hindus. It is known for Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib and the hot springs. There are three hot springs where one can take a bath, one being inside the Gurudwara itself and the other two being privatised by the guesthouses. Different sections for men and women are made at the bathing place. The water in these springs contains sulphur which is believed to cure many diseases. Solang Valley: 14 kilometres to the north west of the main town of Manali, Solang Valley is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh. It is famous for adventure activities like parachuting, paragliding, horse riding, driving mini-open jeeps, zorbing, etc. During winters, Solang valley is covered with snow, making skiing is a popular sport here. Rohtang Pass: Located at a distance of just 51 kilometres from Manali, Rohtang Pass can be reached only by road. The pass is located at a massive height of 3978 metres on Manali- Keylong road. Activities like sledging, mountain biking and skiing are popular here. Due to heavy snowfall in winters, the pass remains closed from November to May.  Atal Tunnel: Also referred to as the Rohtang Tunnel, Atal Tunnel is a horseshoe-shaped highway tunnel that connects Manali and the Lahaul-Spiti valley, reducing the time taken by around 4-5 hours. Named after the former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the tunnel is the world’s longest one above 10,000 feet and is constructed in the Pir Panjal ranges, under the Rohtang Pass.  Jogini Waterfalls: Jogini Waterfall is located about 3 kilometres away from the bustling town of Manali and around 2 kilometres away from Vashisht Temple. What makes it a popular tourist spot is the trek from Vashisht Temple, through pine trees and orchards, to the mesmerising Jogini Waterfalls cascading from a height of 160 feet. It is considered as one of the most romantic attractions in Manali. Vashisht Baths: Located inside the very famous Vashisht Temple in Manali, Vashisht Baths is a hot water spring, believed to possess medicinal values. Also known as Vashisht Springs, it is visited by a lot of tourists, many of whom take a dip in the holy water to rid themselves of skin diseases and infections. Kullu: Kullu, a popular tourist destination in Himachal Pradesh is located on the banks of the Beas river. Kullu is generally coupled with its sister town Manali. It has few important temples like the Raghunath Temple and Jagannath Devi Temple. There are many treks that also originate from this area include the Bijli Mahadev Temple Trek, Parvati Valley Trek, etc. With panoramic views and majestic hills covered with Deodar and Pine trees, Kullu is a nature lover’s paradise. Special thanks to our tour managers, Pradeep Parab and Abhishek Narvekar, who were friendly and cooperative. They treated every member of the group with the utmost care and respect. They have managed the trip in a very good manner with good time management and accurate decisions with the changing situations. Pradeep Parab is very calm and has good knowledge of all the places he used to share with us. Abhishek is very soft-spoken; he has also guided us well throughout the trip with all the necessary information. Both of them are very polite, and their behavior as family members has made our trip comfortable and memorable. Right from the booking process, until our tour concluded, everything was very smooth. After we booked our tour, we were given detailed information about the itinerary, hotels, climate conditions, and things to carry well in advance. The bus was comfortable and in good condition, and the drivers were skilled and friendly. We enjoyed all the sightseeing, especially Manali, along with all the adventurous activities!! Our stay in the hotels was very good, with a delicious variety of foods. Overall, it was an incredible experience with Veena World, and we would definitely like to travel again with Veena World!!

Itinerary (Day Wise)

Delhi – chandigarh (1 night).

Tour guests will arrive at Delhi airport as per their scheduled flight. Upon arrival they will meet Veena World tour manager at the airport and proceed to Chandigarh – the first planned city of India designed by renowned French Architecture Le Corbusier.

Chandigarh – Shimla (2 Nights)

Today we visit, Pinjore Garden – a garden built in traditional Mughal style with seven terraces descending into a distance having grand pavilions and beautiful fountains and Rock Garden – a garden full of sculptures is completely built from industrial waste, scraps, home waste and thrown-away items. Then we proceed to Shimla.

Today we visit Kufri – winter sports capital of Shimla followed by Indira Bungalow and Himalayan Zoo. Later we stroll on the famous Mall Road to we view Christ Church, Scandal Point, The Ridge.

Shimla – Manali (3 Nights)

Today we proceed to Manali, en route we drive past Pandoh Dam and scenic Kullu Valley. During our tea halt we visit Kullu Shawl factory. In the evening we arrive at Manali – gorgeous hill station located in the heart of snowy mountains.

Today a spectacular drive will take us to Rohtang Road Snow Point. We have free time to play in the snow and click pictures to our heart’s content. Then we drive through the new tourist hotspot Atal Tunnel (Subject to Operation) – world's longest tunnel at an altitude of 10,040 feet. In the evening we enjoy bonfire with traditional Himachali Folk Dance followed by dinner. Note: Rohtang is situated at a high altitude, which may pose challenges for guests with certain health conditions. If you have pre-existing health issues, we strongly recommend consulting with your doctor before planning your visit to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Please Note: Rohtang pass is 51 kms away from Manali. This Pass is not accessible for almost 8 months in a year, as it is covered by snow. We generally visit the snow point on Rohtang road, which has been permitted by the Border Security Force. Also note: Snow clothes, jackets and gum boots are available on rent in the shops located on Rohtang Road, you can rent it at an additional cost if needed.

Manali – Solang Valley – Manali

Today we visit Hidimba Mandir – set amidst the snow-covered hills of Manali, this temple is a unique shrine dedicated to Hidimba Devi. Later we proceed to Solang Valley – a splendid valley in Solang village offering magnificent views of the glaciers and snow-capped mountains. Here we enjoy a Ropeway ride and admire the Himalayan mountains. Guests with an adventurous spirit can experience thrilling activities like Paragliding, Biking, Trekking and Hiking at an additional cost. After driving back to Manali, we visit Himalayan Nyinmapa Tibetan Buddhist Monastery – known for its architectural beauty and then we have free time for shopping at Mall Road.

Manali – Chandigarh (1 Night)

Today let’s experience the thrilling activity of River Rafting in the rapids of the cool white waters of Beas River. Later we proceed to Chandigarh. Please Note: For safety reasons, guests weighing above 30-35kgs will be allowed for water rafting.

Chandigarh – Delhi – Departure to Hometown

Today we proceed to Delhi. It’s time now to say goodbye to our travel companions. Day 3: Atal Tunnel and Solang (snow point) (Rohtang pass optional)

After breakfast we shall move to Atal tunnel, 23km from Manali via Solang valley. The road to newly built 9.02km long Atal Tunnel is very scenic with view of hanging glacier at Dhundi. You will get to see snow covered Mt. Hanuman Tibba peak. Atal tunnel is the world’s longest highway tunnel above altitude of 10,000ft from sea level. Cross the tunnel, you will reach Lahaul valley, and return back to Solang. At Solang valley you can enjoy horse riding, gondola (ropeway), paragliding and many other adventure activities. Later return back to your hotel in Manali.

Visiting Rohtang pass will depend on weather/opening of the road and availability of permit. If possible, you can visit Rohtang pass at extra charges.

Day 4: Manali-Kullu-Delhi

Meal: Breakfast

After breakfast, check-out of the hotel. Today you can visit Naggar, Jana and Kullu (Or Kullu, Kasol and Manikaran). Your Volvo will leave Manali for Delhi in the evening. By the grace of Allah, we were lucky to see snowfall in Manali in April month. Yes, it was our first snowfall of our life. I cannot express in words how amazing that moment was. We had booked the 2 nights 3 days manali tour package from discover kullu manali. We stay in hotel snow peak retreat. Location of the hotel and rooms were great. The meal was also good. Our taxi driver Sunny was a cool guy who was also cooperative and became our tour guide. It was our local sightseeing day in Manali but we were not happy with the travel agency for changing our itinerary without telling us. When talked to owner suresh bhai, he told us that we should visit atal tunnel one day in advance if we want to see snowfall. Initially we though they were making us fool but sunny said that the travel agency works with flexibility only to make trips memorable. And we got its result immediately as it was snowing on the way near tunnel. We cross the tunnel and enjoyed snowfall until the cold was unbearable. Thank you team for making our manali trip so memorable. Highly recommended agency.

If you are looking for a kullu Manali tour package for a short time period, this is the package. We were given warm welcome and the trip was well organised. Hotel, meal, taxi, sightseeing, river rafting, paragliding, fun in snow, shopping in the mall road, walking in deodar forest….. everything was so amazing. Driver Ramesh was fantastic person who kept us engaged all the time. Local people are very friendly and humble. Had a good time.
