Born Austin Richard Post, Post Malone is an American rap artist, singer, and songwriter. He is most recognized for his vocal vibrato, as well as his ability to blend multiple musical genres including hip-hop, pop, R&B, rap, and trap.

At a young age, Malone became interested in the music of Bob Dylan, and he often cites Dylan as one of his biggest musical influences. The heavily tattooed Malone sports a tattoo of Dylan in honor of the musician's profound impact. He also credits Kurt Cobain, Johnny Cash, Key!, 50 Cent, and Kanye West as influences.

Malone’s interest in music began early. His father, who worked as a DJ for a time, introduced Malone to many different styles of music while he was growing up. He was inspired to learn the guitar at the age of 14 after watching someone play the video game Guitar Hero. While still in high school, he created a mixtape titled Young and After Them Riches.

Malone's career began in early 2011 and initially gained national attention with the 2015 release of his first single, "White Iverson." The song soared up the charts, climbing to number 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100. After the release of "White Iverson," Malone landed a recording contract with Republic Records in 2015.

His first album Stoney debuted in 2016. The RIAA diamond-certified single "Congratulations," featuring Quavo, was included on the album. The song is one of Malone's most successful recordings, setting a record for most weeks on the US Billboard Top R&B and Hip-Hop Albums charts.

His sophomore album, Beerbongs & Bentleys, debuted in 2018 at number one on the US Billboard 200 and broke multiple streaming records. The album also contained two number-one hit singles: "Rockstar," featuring 21 Savage, and "Psycho," featuring Ty Dolla Sign. Beerbongs & Bentleys was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.

His third number-one hit, "Sunflower," with Swae Lee, was the lead single for the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack in 2018. The song also appeared on Malone's third album, Hollywood's Bleeding, which was released in 2019. The album became Malone's second number-one smash. The second single from the album was "Circles," which also reached number one.

The fourth album, Twelve Carat Toothache, dropped in June 2022 and featured two US top-ten singles: "I Like You (A Happier Song)" with Doja Cat and "One Right Now" with The Weeknd.

Malone has won numerous awards, including Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. Additionally, he's been nominated for nine Grammy Awards. He is among the best-selling contemporary music artists in the US, boasting nearly 80 million record sales.

The documentary Runaway features behind-the-scenes footage from Malone's 2019 Runaway Tour and performances from the tour's New York City and Chicago sets.

Following the release of Twelve Carat Toothache, Malone embarked on a 33-city North American tour to promote the album. Featuring Roddy Ricch, the tour continued through November 2022.

Live reviews

There were two different aspects of the concert. The crowd, and Post Malone himself. I am so disappointed in the everyone around me in the crowd. Over 20 people had to be pulled out because they had passed out because of alcohol, other substances, or being overcrowded or trampled. A boy had to be pulled out because his arm was snapped in half. I was almost pulled out because I felt like my ribs were going to break because of the pressure when people pushed forward. People kept pushing to the front, causing pain to everyone there, and they were rude while they did it. My friend and I lost our other friend and when we texted her she told us that a man tried to take her out of the venue. She needed help but we couldn't reach her. Again, the crowd was absolutely terrible.

Post Malone himself did not come out until 40 minutes after he was supposed to because not everyone was in the venue. Him being late added to the frustration and pain I felt being slammed against the gate and squished between rude concert goers. Once he came on, the pushing and shoving did not cease but he was a great performer. I am glad I did not get pulled out. Although it was extremely painful he performed beautifully and it was 100% worth the pain.

I love Post Malone. Sadly his fans were such awful people we had to leave before he even came on. People were being crushed during the concert, people were passing out left and right and many people could barely breath. The fans were complete assholes about it to. People were shoving their way to the front (with people in the back already pushing you in so you can't back up) when there is absolutely no room to do so and then when you call them out and tell them there is no room they need to go back to the back they yell at you, cuss you out and then make fun of you. I personally saw at least 5 people pass out and as we left in disgust of the crowds behavior in the middle of the show we saw two ambulances in the back alley behind the venue helping several people who needed medical attention. I saw another review of his concert saying the same things. They even mentioned a guy broke his arm from being crushed and trampled. No matter how much I love Post Malone I wouldn't attend another of his concerts even if it were free.

I seen him yesterday 6/31/15 in Boston. I had front row stance. I was leaning on the sliver bench, any who. He was an amazing preformer. He gave us a great show hands down. Interactive with the crowd, dancing, usage of the whole stage ect.

My down side unfortunately is that we spent more time waiting for him to preform than actually seeing him preform. As a fan, I expected the show not to last too long seeing as he is a blooming artist and all his songs got leaked, we knew what songs to expect. (He did forget to preform 'Holyfield') Back to the point, all in all, 3 hours wait for less than an hr performance. Not to mention a point in time we asked security to please move to the side so we can see he just shrugged his shoulders. I understand he has a job to do but we also paid to see post Malone and not the back of his shirt.

Again, I loved his performance all in all. Can't wait til he's performing for thousands in a venues that's not a church lol

The show itself was fantastic, but the venue was not that great. There was paid parking which was cheapest at 40 dollars. Leaving the venue was chaos as the streets were blocked off and traffic was at a standstill for a solid hour and a half (not exaggerating). Then there was the usual stuff with small restrooms (plus portapotties) and overpriced water down alcohol (20 for a small drink and 5 for water). I would not recommend this venue to anyone (Lakewood amp Cellairis). This is my second show at this venue and it seems to have gone downhill rapidly over a few years due to greed.

Venue aside this was a great performance by 21 Savage and Post Malone (I missed the opener due to issues of finding parking somewhere that wasn’t extremely overpriced).

It was the best experience i've ever had. The show started with a dj after a short time a upcommimg star came. He made the fans go off. After an hour of performing, there was a break. Everyone was exited for Post Malone, but an other rapper came up. There wasnt much people who were excited to see him and the crowd has lost all patience. We wanted to see Post Malone!

So half an hour of just chillimg, the lights turned off. We heard the start of "Broken Whsikey Glass" and every one flipped out.

The man himself, Post Malone came out. I was so happy i had to jump. All of his songs were good but there were even better when its live performed. I will never forget this event and im happy that this was my very first comcert.

Amazing performer. I didn't know what to expect since this was the first time I went to one of his concerts. I went for 21 savage but I knew some of his songs and I was excited. I can say that at the end of the concert he was MUCh more entertaining than 21. He was charismatic but calm. He had this happy and serious feeling and it was so chill but hype at the same time. it felt really personal when he pointed out people in the crowd, sang songs to us and performed his heart out. I definitely want to see him again now that I'm more familiar and know more of his songs.

Hello Austin, I just want to say that Chaz & I truly enjoyed getting to see your show and visit with you afterwards. Miles have kept us apart and from getting to knowing each other better, but see that your musical ventures in your life have created a very young talented and unique individual in its own right. I have watched you grow into the person you are today and hope you continue to strive in our journey to the top. Chaz and I would love to see you again when you are in the area...and God Bless!! Love, your Aunt Kim and Cousin Chaz.

It was probably one of the best nights of my life. He was so enthusiastic about the crowd, he loved our energy, said he wanted us to come on tour with him haha. But seriously I had an amazing time, I sat front row so I got to see my hero literally right in front of me AND he told me he loved me (which I got on record) as well as at the end of the concert he jumped off the railing into the crowd and I got to hug him, so yeah I’d say it was a pretty memorable night, I definitely know I’m gonna go to another one of his concerts again .

honey-rose-1’s profile image

While Post didn't disappoint, he probably didn't excite as much as he should. His set, although filled with great tracks, was a tad short for my liking. His on stage presence felt a little boring at times, and failed to really make much of a connection with the crowd at all. It just felt like he wanted to play his songs and get the hell out.

Not a bad show, but also given how much people were spending to see this guy, you'd figure'd there be something more. Maybe he's just tired though, which in that case, I wish him some rest.

dankhank21’s profile image

The show was incredible!! Everything was lit and pumped got the crowd hyped and engaging!! Every single person who preformed was great and Posty was AMAZING live wow!

However, the pauses in between the artists really killed the vibe!! Next time don’t have too long pauses inbetween people will just have to wait to go to the bathrooms/buy drinks. Or at least make sure something is entertaining meanwhile (just having a DJ playing or the cool light show or something)

Sportsline's model has made its nba picks and predictions for game 3 of the los angeles lakers vs. denver nuggets first round series on thursday.

post malone tour denver

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to bounce back from a devastating Game 2 defeat when they host the Denver Nuggets on Thursday in a crucial Game 3 of their 2024 NBA playoffs series. In Game 2, Los Angeles led by as many as 20 points in the second half before Denver rallied for a 101-99 win. The defeat was the largest blown lead by any team in an NBA postseason game in the last 25 seasons. The Nuggets lead the best-of-seven first round Western Conference playoff series 2-0.

Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The Lakers are listed as 1-point favorites in the latest Nuggets vs. Lakers odds, per SportsLine consensus, while the Over/Under for total points scored is 217. Before making any Lakers vs. Nuggets picks, be sure to  see the NBA predictions and betting advice from SportsLine's proven computer model .

The SportsLine Projection Model simulates every NBA game 10,000 times and has returned well over $10,000 in profit for $100 players on its top-rated  NBA picks  over the past five-plus seasons. Anyone following the model has seen huge returns.

  • Nuggets vs. Lakers spread: Los Angeles -1
  • Nuggets vs. Lakers over/under: 217 points

  • DEN: Nikola Jokic ranked second in the NBA this season in triple-doubles (25).

  • Nuggets vs. Lakers picks: See picks at SportsLine

Why the Nuggets can cover

The reigning NBA champs have dominated the head-to-head series against Los Angeles recently as Denver has beaten the Lakers 10 straight times. That stretch includes a four-game sweep against Los Angeles in last season's Western Conference Finals and three wins during the 2023-24 regular season. The Lakers haven't beaten the Nuggets since Dec. 16, 2022.

In addition, Denver may have found a way to slow Davis and the Los Angeles offense in Game 2. After giving up 68 points in the first 26 minutes, Nuggets coach Michael Malone switched Aaron Gordon onto the Lakers big man. After that, Denver allowed just 31 points in the final 22 minutes.  See which team to back at SportsLine .

Why the Lakers can cover

LeBron James remains an elite player. From the All-Star break to the end of the regular season, the 39-year-old James averaged 27.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 9.5 assists while shooting 58.4% from the field, 45.0% on 3-pointers, and 76.9% from the free-throw line. So far this series, he is averaging 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 10.0 assists while shooting 54.5% from beyond the 3-point arc.

In addition, Davis has been elite offensively so far in this series. The 31-year-old Davis has scored 32 points in each of the first two games while averaging 12.5 rebounds. He is also shooting 61.9% from the field and 92.3% from the free-throw line.  See which team to back at SportsLine .

How to make Lakers vs. Nuggets picks

SportsLine's model is leaning Over on the total, projecting the teams to combine for 219 points. The model also says one side of the spread hits over in 50% of simulations.  You can see the picks only at SportsLine .

So who wins Lakers vs. Nuggets, and which side of the spread hits over 50% of the time? Visit SportsLine now to see which side of the Nuggets vs. Lakers spread you need to jump on, all from the model on a 90-58 roll on top-rated NBA picks this season , and find out.

Timeline of bad blood between Nuggets and Lakers

Nikola Jokic drops 24 points as the Nuggets extend their series lead to 3-0 against the Lakers. (2:10)

post malone tour denver

There's no love lost between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers as their first-round series continues Saturday night with Game 4 (8:30 EST on ABC).

It's been an entirely one-sided matchup in recent years -- the Nuggets are riding an 11-game win streak against the Lakers. Denver's win streak also includes seven straight in the playoffs, though that total is far from the longest playoff losing streak against a single team in the past 20 years.

Even though they faced off in the 2020 Western Conference finals, the bad blood between the Nuggets and Lakers began in last year's Western Conference finals, and carried over into the offseason.

Here's a timeline of the trash-talking between Denver and Los Angeles.

post malone tour denver

'Would rather be up 1-0 than down 0-1'

In Game 1 of the 2023 Western Conference finals, the Nuggets defeated the Lakers 132-126 , but the discussions after the game irked Denver head coach Michael Malone.

Los Angeles decided to put Rui Hachimura on Nikola Jokic in the second half of Game 1, an adjustment that boosted confidence for the Lakers . However, in between Games 1 and 2, Malone downplayed the move.

"Much [is being] made of them putting Rui Hachimura on Nikola Jokic," he said. "Like we have never seen that before."

Malone went even further and spoke about the narrative that the Lakers had momentum heading into the next game because of the tweak.

"There's this kind of discussion being based [on that] even though the Lakers lost, they're walking out of here, they think they've got something," he said . "I'll bet you every red penny I have that [Lakers coach] Darvin Ham would rather be up 1-0 than down 0-1."

'So, you put that in your pipe, you smoke it'

Malone's comments about Hachimura didn't stop once Game 2 arrived.

The head coach continued to attack the adjustment made by the Lakers, saying it's the first time he's been up 1-0 and "the series is over in everybody's mind because they put Rui Hachimura on Nikola Jokic for six possessions."

Jokic had a strong Game 2, recording 23 points, 17 rebounds and 12 assists in the win. It was the two-time MVP's 13th playoff triple-double -- the third most of all time.

But, Malone didn't think his star got enough credit nationally. In his mind, the conversation, especially after Game 1, still centered on the Lakers.

"What he's doing is just incredible, but the narrative wasn't about the Nuggets. The narrative wasn't about Nikola," Malone said. "The narrative was about the Lakers and their adjustments. So you put that in your pipe, you smoke it, you come back and you know what, we're going to go up 2-0."

"The national narrative [after Game 1] was that the Lakers were fine. ... No one talked about Nikola just had a historic performance. ... The narrative wasn't about the Nuggets." - Nuggets HC Michael Malone pic.twitter.com/zUSjByjZMf — NBA TV (@NBATV) May 19, 2023

He took more shots at the Lakers when the Nuggets advanced to the Finals. He said that if anybody was talking about Los Angeles being in the NBA Finals, "that's on them."

"They've gone fishing. We're still playing," Malone said.

'I'm thinking about retiring'

The Lakers were still top of mind in the days after the Nuggets' championship.

During his appearance on the "Pat McAfee Show" the day after Denver clinched the title, Malone poked fun at LeBron James ' comments that he might consider retirement . Malone's comments prompted a response from James, who posted on Instagram the day after the championship parade that he is "the SUN."

View this post on Instagram A post shared by 👑 (@kingjames)

While the Nuggets took the stage at their parade, the team's TV reporter and host Vic Lombardi proclaimed Malone as the "Lakers' daddy."

"He came into this world as the son of a coach, but in these playoffs, he became the Lakers' daddy," Lombardi said .

Malone made noise during the parade too, wearing a T-shirt with his "put it in your pipe" quote.

Confirmed: Parade ready 😤 pic.twitter.com/Iho6GBFSiu — Denver Nuggets (@nuggets) June 15, 2023

'This s--- ain't over'

Ham caught wind of the "Lakers' daddy" moniker, making his thoughts known when Malone's name came up while on the "This League Uncut" podcast in July 2023.

"Oh, wow. You're going to bring up Money Mike, man? The Lakers' daddy? That's what they call him now? The Lakers' daddy?" Ham said. "God bless his soul. This s--- ain't over. God bless his soul."

'We can't wait'

When media day for the 2023-24 season came around, the Lakers took their time to respond to the Nuggets' comments.

Anthony Davis called the trash talk motivational, revealing that he and James had conversations about it during the offseason.

"There was just so much of that going on it was like, 'All right, we get it, y'all won,' he said . "But me and Bron had some conversations like, 'We can't wait [to play them again.]'"

Austin Reaves went a step further, saying after the Lakers' first practice of training camp that indirectly or not, "everybody knows" Denver's talk was pointed at them.

With a matchup against the Nuggets on opening night, Reaves said it added something extra to the game.

"You see stuff," Reaves said. "Me, personally, I try my best to stay off of social media and not look at all that stuff. To me, I go play every game the way I'm going to go play the first game against them. But I think it adds a little bit of motivation to go play really well. That's really it."

However, during Denver's training camp, Malone downplayed the offseason chatter and said that he's not living "four months ago," while also noting he has tremendous respect for the Lakers and Ham.

"This is a new season, a new challenge, and it was a hell of a series against them. I know it was a 4-0 sweep, but all those games seemed like they went down to the wire ... But yeah, I don't listen to any of that stuff. I don't know what they're saying, and if we're on their minds, then I guess that's on them," he said.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — As he so often does, Michael Malone captured the feelings of the entire Nuggets fanbase.

“I’m kind of all over the place right now,” he said at noon MT, while countless fans were surely talking themselves through all the NBA playoff scenarios one last time before Game 82.

Malone was acutely aware of the most likely outcome: That his team would be the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference when the dust settled, win or lose. But he was set on playing his starters anyway, on the off chance Denver could — at least — move up one spot.

“We’re trying to win a game,” he said.

The defending champions took care of business on their end, clobbering the injury-devastated Grizzlies 126-111 to end the 2023-24 regular season Sunday. And thanks to the Phoenix Suns’ win over the Timberwolves, Denver (57-25) will go into the playoffs as the No. 2 seed in the West, facing the winner of a play-in game between the Lakers and Pelicans.

With the bounce-back win after a nightmare in San Antonio, the Nuggets tied the franchise single-season wins record, equaling their 2012-13 season.

“We wanted to get a win, and we wanted to just be positive, have a positive mindset going into the playoffs,” Nikola Jokic said. “I think that’s important.”

“It’s still unfortunate we didn’t break the record,” Malone said. “We had a chance to.”

Six players scored in double figures by the end of the third quarter, led by Jamal Murray’s 21-point finale. Murray turned his ankle during the second frame but declined when Malone asked if he wanted a substitution. Denver’s entire starting lineup, including Murray, started the second half after getting a look at the other relevant scores around the West. The Lakers, Suns and Thunder all led by double digits.

“I think our whole staff was looking at their phones, to be honest,” Malone said.

It was an ideal scenario — as long as the Nuggets didn’t get in their own way, as they did occasionally throughout a too-close-for-comfort first half. The Grizzlies were down an astronomical 13 players, according to their injury report.

The halftime message from Malone to players? “Phoenix is up 14. If you want the 2-seed, go take it.”

The third quarter was definitive. Denver opened up a 26-point advantage after leading by single digits until late in the second. Nikola Jokic finished his presumptive MVP season with 15 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and four steals. Aaron Gordon supplied 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and a block. Christian Braun had 17 points, nine boards and two steals off the bench, sustaining his momentum into the playoffs.

Malone was able to manage minutes in the end. Jokic played 30, Gordon played 26, and the rest of the roster played fewer than 25.

For the second time in his career, Jokic finished the season ranked in the top five in the NBA in total points (fifth), total rebounds (third) and total assists (second).

Unlike in San Antonio, the Nuggets got their sloppy moments out of the way early. At one point early in the non-Jokic minutes, Memphis had 11 offensive rebounds to Denver’s 12 defensive rebounds. Malone used a timeout after the Grizzlies briefly took the lead. Then Braun and Peyton Watson scored the next seven. The Nuggets never looked back.

They finished the regular season with just five losses against teams with losing records. They went 24-17 on the road.

They woke up Sunday with the ability to manipulate the final standings if they were dead-set on being No. 3. By resting starters and potentially losing, they could have ushered Oklahoma City to their side of the bracket and Minnesota to the opposite side.

Instead, they took a risk and didn’t rest. It paid off.

“We were just trying to focus on ourselves,” Jokic said.

Malone didn’t like the premise of losing for some subjective idea of an easier path to the NBA Finals anyway. “The basketball gods are finicky gods,” Pistons coach Monty Williams used to tell him when they both worked in New Orleans.

More in Denver Nuggets

Listening to Aaron Gordon talk about himself, you'd think he was simply another cog in the Nuggets' finely tuned machine.

Denver Nuggets | Nuggets’ Aaron Gordon shines as super-utility player vs. Lakers

The thing about the Nuggets as champions, they never need to go around bragging, “We are the best.” Everybody knows it. Contrast them with the Lakers, who are like the kid in high school who gives himself a nickname.

Post Malone Teases Morgan Wallen Collaboration Just Before Stagecoach

By Larisha Paul

Larisha Paul

Coachella cleared out of Indio, California’s Empire Polo Fields, after two music-filled weekends so that the country festival Stagecoach could take over the grounds. The bill for this weekend’s event is stacked with generation-spanning performers, but two in particular seem to be cooking something up for the occasion. Just before opening night, Post Malone shared a snippet teaser of a potential collaboration with Morgan Wallen . Both artists are scheduled to appear at Stagecoach on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

“They say teamwork makes the dream work,” Malone wrote in the caption of a TikTok teasing the song. He tagged Wallen, who is set to headline to festival on Sunday. The quote refers to the lyrics featured in what sounds like an upbeat country chorus on the song, which fans have been referring to as “I Had Some Help.”

Malone previously appeared alongside Wallen in a tribute performance to Joe Diffie at the 2023 CMA Awards. In 2022, he discussed the possibility of a country pivot in an interview with Howard Stern . “To be honest, there’s nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah and just recording a country album and putting it on fucking YouTube,” he said. “Maybe I’ll face some repercussions afterward from the label and shit, but there’s nothing stopping me from doing that. I’m allowed to do that.”

Last month, Malone appeared alongside Beyoncé on her own country opus, Cowboy Carter . The singer is featured on the denim and rhinestone-studded love song “Levii’s Jeans.”

Lakers' LeBron James rips officiating after loss to Nuggets

LeBron James complains about the officiating in Lakers vs. Nuggets and even mentions the 76ers-Knicks game. (0:56)

DENVER -- After a heartbreaking 101-99 loss in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Denver Nuggets on Monday, LeBron James was one of several Los Angeles Lakers players to criticize the officiating during his postgame comments.

"I don't understand what's going on in the replay center, to be honest," James said.

James has voiced his displeasure with the league's replay process several times this season, such as when his foot was ruled to be on the 3-point line in a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and out of bounds in a loss to the Golden State Warriors .

On Monday night in Denver, he specifically took issue with a shooting foul called against Michael Porter Jr. on D'Angelo Russell late in the third quarter that was overturned after Nuggets coach Michael Malone challenged the call.

"D-Lo clearly gets hit in the face on a drive," James said. "What the f--- do we have a replay center for if it's going to go [like that]? It doesn't make sense to me."

Russell was seemingly in agreement, writing on X after the game, "That's a foul we all saw it on national television."

L.A. led 79-69 with 39.5 seconds remaining in the third quarter when the foul was overturned, erasing two free throw attempts for Russell. The Lakers point guard shot 82.8% from the free throw line this season.

The missed opportunity for two points became that much more consequential with the way the game ended: Jamal Murray 's fadeaway jumper on the baseline from 16 feet away as time expired delivered Denver a two-point win and 2-0 series lead .

Crew chief Scott Foster announced over the public address system that Porter's contact was "marginal," and the call was overturned.

A Lakers source told ESPN that James' foul on Murray with 57.1 seconds left, which rewarded the Nuggets guard two free throws that tied the game 97-97, also could be considered "marginal contact."

"It makes no sense to me," James continued. "It bothers me. ... And then I just saw what happened with the Sixers-Knicks game too. Like, what are we doing?"

As James (26 points, 12 assists, 8 rebounds) got up from the podium and headed toward the exit, he added, "It's f---ing stupid."

While L.A. had a 19-6 advantage in free throw attempts in Game 1, Denver had a 17-13 edge in attempts in Game 2.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham also referenced Lakers center Anthony Davis ' foul trouble; Davis picked up his fourth with 2:41 remaining in the third quarter while setting a screen on Nuggets guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope . L.A. was up 74-63 at the time, and Ham subbed out Davis to try to keep him from fouling out. At that point, Davis was 14-for-18 from the field for 32 points. He attempted only one shot -- a missed pull-up in the lane midway through the fourth quarter -- the rest of the game.

"You can't have a remedy for foul trouble," Ham said. "It limits your player, takes all the aggression away."

With Davis' play affected by his fouls, Denver fought back from a 20-point deficit early in the third quarter. Murray scored 14 of his 20 points in the fourth, with his buzzer-beater representing just the third winning shot to complete a comeback of 20 or more points in an NBA playoff game since 2000.

Jokic, who finished with 27 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists, also did damage down the stretch while matched up against the Lakers' Rui Hachimura , as Davis was switched off Jokic to avoid more fouls.

L.A. was "bogged down" in the fourth quarter, according to Lakers guard Austin Reaves , as James scored 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting and the rest of the team went just 3-for-9.

James missed his last shot -- a 3-pointer from the top of the key with the score tied at 99 and 16 seconds left.

"Had a wide-open look, and it rimmed out," James said. "I mean, it rimmed in, and it rimmed out."

Denver, meanwhile, went 7-for-7 to close out the fourth quarter.

The series now shifts to L.A.'s Crypto.com Arena on Thursday, as the Lakers attempt to snap what is now a 10-game losing streak against the Nuggets.

"Win Game 3," Davis said. "It's that simple. Just win Game 3."

Russell, who bounced back from a 6-for-20 shooting performance in Game 1 to score 23 points in Game 2 and tie a franchise postseason record with seven made 3-pointers, expressed confidence moving forward.

"We did a lot of good things that gave us an opportunity to win all night," Russell said. "Came down to some things that we really couldn't control. I like our fight."

For everything that went right for the Lakers on Monday, there is plenty of room for improvement. James went 4-for-11 on shots at the rim, with the seven misses tying the most he has had in a playoff game since joining the Lakers. Hachimura went 1-for-7 in the starting lineup. Denver's bench outscored L.A.'s reserves 12-6.

"We have stretches where we just don't know what we're doing on both ends of the floor," Davis said. "And those are the ones that cost us."

Second-guessing can't change the series, however. Only preparing to deliver a different outcome can.

"Protect home," James said. "That's where my mindset goes. And obviously, the only game that matters now is Game 3 and how we can get better. How we can figure this team out. So, Game 3 is where my mindset is."
