Can't rave enough about this bike tour. I'm blanking on her name but our tour guide, who is from Berkeley and recently started, was amazing!! She was so friendly and outgoing and took us to see so many cool little places aside from the rio grande and provided us with so much history. It was also nice to have someone from the bay along with us for the ride. But we truly had a good time and it was probably the best part of visiting NM.
We rented 2 bikes from here and did half a day So glad that we did this because it made traveling from down town to old town a breeze. Totally not worth calling an Uber/Lyft when this place exist! Everyone that was working was so nice and informative Will definitely rent here again if we ever need
Highly recommend taking this tour. You see sites that you would never see otherwise. Out tour guide Heidi was awesome and made it so much more fun and she was very informative. It's not too difficult or long and really enjoyable.
Tour Guide Heidi
These guys love bikes. And it shows. They were attentive both in terms of finding the right bike but also in setting me up for a self guided tour of Albuquerque. Lastly, they were great value. There's a reason they feature on so many "must do" lists for this town.
Go to bike rental when we are in abq. They take the time to find the correct bike and get the fit correct. Higher end bikes that are well maintained
My wife and I rented bikes from Routes.... Top notch bikes and service. Will be back the next time we are in town Thank you!
My sister and I took the bike tour with Valen. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Santa Fe and provided clear directions so that we felt safe riding around Santa Fe. He was super friendly and engaging. We had a great time and would highly recommend the bike tour with Valen.
I booked this activity for our group of top company executives and they all had nothing but GREAT things to say about the tour! They did the Bike & Brew Tour and enjoyed every bit of it. Between the breweries they stopped at, the food they ate and the architecture they saw along the way - everyone was very pleased and would recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Fe! The company was wonderful to work with and very accommodating of our needs. 5 stars from myself and all who participated!!
Great place to rent a bike for the trails, the prices are really reasonable, the guy is super helpful.
If there is one thing that I love more than a food walking tour, it's a biking tour. It's one of the best ways to see a city and get some low-impact exercise all at once. And besides, after several days in Santa Fe, I could use the workout. I can't remember the last time I had so many breakfast burritos (but they're ohh so good!). When I began researching the best things to do in Old Town Santa Fe, I came across Routes Bicycle Tours and Rentals. The company, run by the husband/wife team of Heather and Josh Arnold, offers small group tours in both Albuquerque (where it started) and Santa Fe. I loved the variety of tours on their website with such unique excursions like the "Biking Bad Tour," which covers shooting locations in Albuquerque of the iconic AMC series Breaking Bad. If only we had enough time to do it all! But I was equally excited to take their 2-hour guided Historic Santa Fe Tour. I had zero knowledge about Santa Fe's interesting past. Their 2-hour signature tour covers everything from culture, art, history and much more. It's well worth signing up and the owners are so incredibly nice. They even gave us recommendations on other trips to take (which were also incredibly fun!).
This place has great customer service. We rented bikes for 1/2 day ($20 for four hours). Checkin on yelp to save 15%! They have hybrids, road bikes, mountain, and cruisers to choose from. They also include helmets and bike locks. Bikes have water bottle cages on them. Bikes were in good condition. Bikes had bells on them. Brands: Specialized and Diamondback. They showed us a bike route map and wrote which stops are fun to see. We rode along the Bosque trail to the Casa Rodena Winery (wine tasting $8), Los Poblanos (lavender farm with a store selling soaps and gelato), Rio Grande State Park (walked thru and read exhibits), rode by the zoo to see elephants (they are across the street from bike trail), and Tingley Beaches (small ponds with ducks floating). This route took us 3 1/2 hours. It was about 20 miles. The store also offers group and private tours. Stop in and chat with the staff and they will help you decide the best option for you. The Bosque trail is about a mile from the shop.

Tour ABQ on Two Wheels: Iconic Albuquerque Bike Trails
Wednesday, January 17, 2024 9:00 AM by Joshua Arnold
With 310 days of sunshine, beautiful high desert landscapes and relatively mild winters, Albuquerque is truly a cyclist’s mecca. Did you know Albuquerque has more park/open space than almost any other city in the United States per capita, and over 400 miles of dedicated bicycle paths, trails and lanes to explore?
Your day’s journey might take you from the banks of the Rio Grande, up into the foothills of the Sandia Mountains for a spectacular view, and then back down again across volcanic mesas on your way to Petroglyph National Monument – or from historic Old Town (established ca. 1706) up Route 66 to the vibrant Nob Hill neighborhood, and then out across urban landscapes to experience our city’s burgeoning craft brewery scene! The possibilities for cycling in Albuquerque are endless.
We’ve put together a quick guide to a few of our favorite bike trails and associated activities for your enjoyment; you can also find a full city bike trail map online here .
Image Source: Routes Bicycle Tours & Rentals
Paseo del Bosque Bike Trail
The 16-mile Paseo del Bosque Path is a highlight and connects cyclists to some of Albuquerque’s most scenic, fun and interesting areas. This path stretches north-south through a state park (the “Bosque,” or woodlands) along the Rio Grande, a beautiful area that features abundant wildlife and mature cottonwood trees. Highlights along the way include Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm, the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park , The ABQ BioPark Zoo , Botanic Garden and Tingley Beach , Bike In Coffee , Sheehan Winery and the National Hispanic Cultural Center . You can also rent a bicycle or choose to take a guided tour with Routes Bicycle Tours of NM in nearby Old Town!
North Diversion Channel Trail
This urban trail connects north-south from Nob Hill and the University of New Mexico (UNM) to Balloon Fiesta Park (yes – riding a bike is an AWESOME way to get to the Fiesta!). This trail has a good amount of elevation over the Rio Grande Valley and offers expansive views. It also offers easy access to Albuquerque’s new Brewery District area (check out Canteen Brewhouse , La Cumbre Brewing Co. and Left Turn Distilling), Green Jeans Farmery, Vara Winery and Tin Can Alley.
Tramway Bike Trail
This trail stretches across the foothills of the Sandia Mountains and its elevation above the city offers amazing panoramic views of the mountains, sunsets and surrounding desert. Tramway Blvd. features both a dedicated, off-street bike trail and on-street bike lanes for road cyclists. Use this trail to connect to attractions like the famous Sandia Peak Tramway , County Line BBQ , Boxing Bear Taproom and Elena Gallegos Open Space (great for mountain biking or hiking)!
50 Mile Loop
For those who want a longer journey, ABQ is developing a designated a route known as the 50 Mile Loop that connects three north-south trails (and more!) via east-west bicycle paths and lanes. The loop is shown on the city’s bike trail map and is also marked by new trail signs along the way. It’s an excellent way to spend your day cycling!
