Be careful because you never know who may be on the other side of the chat box or screen. With a signup process so simple and easy to complete, I can’t imagine all the profiles on this dating site are authentic.

You don’t even have to do much if you don’t feel like typing — just sign up via Google. If you do want to type, though, it really isn’t a big deal. All you need to provide is your email and a password, and that’s it!

Then, if you feel like it, you can complete your profile, which I didn’t do. The profile section is actually quite comprehensive. You can provide a lot of information about yourself, your hobbies, what you’re looking for in your ultimate travel mate, and a profile picture to show off your good looks.

I did none of that, however. But somehow, I still managed to attract many profiles’ attention the moment I started looking around at the main menu. A flurry of video chat requests and messages started going off almost immediately after I logged in for the first time.

An interesting final thought regarding the signup process — SOL states in the fine print that, if you sign up for this dating site, you are automatically signing up for more of SOL Network Ltd’s sites via what it calls “co-registration.”

Who would want to be signed up to a multitude of different sites they may not even know about? There’s our first huge red flag. 

Can I try YourTravelMates.com for free?

There are several ways to contact other profiles on the YourTravelMates.com platform, including “going live.” However, not all of these features are going to be for free.

The only free activities on YourTravelMates.com are sending your first message and viewing profiles. If you want to move past this point, you need to not only pay but subscribe.

The subscription comes down to choosing a specific amount of credits and allowing SOL Networks Ltd to deduct money from your account to pay for the credits. Let’s look at the subscription options and what they’re worth.

Those credits are going to run out pretty quick, don’t you think? This is an extremely expensive online dating endeavor and another huge red flag.

Is YourTravelMates.com easy to use?

The site is overall very user-friendly and intuitive. It’s easy to see when you’ve received a new message or email, as I’ve just received a free email from someone and the red dot was visible.

A downside is an apparent attempt to place all the functions and features on one page. The developers might have been worried that we won’t show ourselves around once we sign up?

Being able to open different features in different tabs or windows works better.

Many of the profile pictures were refreshingly natural-looking and did not look as staged as the ones you’d find on many dating sites.

TrustPilot.com is brutally honest as usual, with an abysmal rating of 1.3 stars from 137 reviewers. SiteJabber’s 130 reviews ended up with a 4-star rating. So, who should you trust?

In previous situations, it appeared that SiteJabber.com may have had some bias linked to its reviews for online dating sites, but the best thing to do is to read individual reviews, check how detailed they are and what they say.

There’s too big of a contrast between these two rating platforms for them to be useful, but my guess is the reality leans towards TrustPilot.com’s take on things. 

Contact Options at Your Travel Mates

SOL Networks Ltd provides a live chat box with a Whatsapp link inside. Thus, their definition of customer service live chat is sending a Whatsapp. The chatbox itself where you’re supposed to type does not work.

When you go to the Help Center, the live chat is also a Whatsapp link and an empty FAQ section. Let’s just say it’s not exactly what you want to see if you need urgent online assistance, and there are no other contact details made readily available for customers.

I never thought that dating is so much fun when done while travelling. I found someone to go on a cruise trip in YourTravelMates. We did so many activities together. Everything was just so exciting! I will forever keep my memories with him. We still keep in touch after our tour, and plan to see each other again some time. I hope we can make this relationship work.

The majority of users are employees with fake profiles who are paid to chat with you, sending letters like bullets, so your credits run out fast. Very quickly! You'll have to pay a lot more to buy credits to chat or open letters! So many fake profiles. Conversations that lead nowhere, no calls, no chance of a real date or of getting into a private conversation by phone or email. FAKE without MISTAKE!

Totally fake and dangerous

Totally fake and dangerous. I kept in the four sites during 4 months (Yourtravelmates, Dating, DatemyAge and Amo Latina) and all of them have the same "handsome" guys , sometimes with different photos, saying they live in a place, but never telling you their email or really trying to meet you. More than that, they exchange information, and start to know what kind of person you like, things you like to do, and start to work with artificial intelligence, to "get" you. But I started to see basic problems, such as someone living in London and sending photos driving on the left... or leaving in Porto without speaking Portuguese... and there´s no way to get out, only telling your bank it was fraud and changing your credit card.

If you see a nice man coming from Serbia, Belgrade. You can not send a message, just when you pay first. All are writing in the same kindly way, so it's strange, Now I read reviews and how I felt, it can be a fake site. I registered on Triptogether site, and they are in contact, automatically forwarded to me to this website. The triptogether is the same most of the peoples' pictures are having stolen. So better not use both websites.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Take my advice and do NOT sign up with this site. It’s such a rip off (I paid for a subscription I believed to be monthly but it was for credits) and appears to have a similar platform that “Miss Cleo” had. The emails seem fake and only appear be emailed to “members” to peak interest to open/read each email. In order to read emails or interact the member needs to purchase credits. I’m assuming internet calls also burn your credits because other members try to call while you’re online. There seems to nothing real on this site. Ladies…. RUN.

If I looked half as good looking as the…

If I looked half as good looking as the men I supposedly matched with I wouldn't need a dating website! It was fun to play and send some suggestive messages. Interesting how everybody is looking for a love of their life romance and ignore offers of casual sex. I'm very glad I did not pay for their services. It was telling to me that the video chat people (which I think are hired by the company) looked very different from the people emailing me. Fantasy is fun, just don't pay for it. I also think if a member write to a nonpaying person it should be free to reply. Otherwise it's just a waste. The site is a total scam.

Crazy expensive site that leads to nothing

Crazy expensive site that leads to nothing but endless pay for messages. I tried having an actual chat with someone but yr credits gets eaten up by hundreds of messages popping up the minute u go online, even if u did not intentionally open the mail, before u realise u have not had any actual chats but no credits left. Seems a rip off to pay to read a message that someone has already paid to send. Initially u are allowed 1 free communication, but when u reply it does not reflect despite saying reply for free. I have bought credits that were not allocated either and after numerous requests for assistance and proof of bank statement, nothing was done...nobody cares, I wasted so much time trying to find a real connection, they do not allow contact details so you cannot progress past paying to say a few words.. most expensive few chats I ever had and never got any further. Total waste of time

Overpriced sham

I signed up for the $19.99 USD for 150 credits. I sent approximately 30 chat messages to one person over the period of an hour and ran out of credits. Basically it cost me 27 dollars CAD to not even get to know 1 person. In addition, my inbox was totally full of fake computer generated bull%$#@ one liners. Do not waste your time or money here.

What is going on here?

Funny enough, they have contacted me after I posted a negative review but they didn't bother to contact me (in 4 days now) about cancelling my membership. I have to mention that I have tried Messenger, WhatsApp, e-mail and "live chat". How come the process is so complicated? So TravelMates, if you are actually genuine, stop misleading and ripping off people and cancel their subscription when THEY want, not when YOU want!

This site created a fake account for me

I never heard of this site before, I had never visited this site prior to today (according to my browser history), I obviously never created an account on that site (couldn't find any confirmation mail in my inbox). Yet, today, my email inbox got flooded with chat requests from that site. I can only assume that this garbage website has somehow gotten hold of my email address and created a fake account with my name attached to it. And those chat requests are most likely from equally fake accounts managed by the site admins. What kind of unprofessional practice is this? It's already hard enough to keep track of the atrocious dating sites I did sign up for, I don't need this worthless non-service from an utterly worthless company!

This site made an un authourized transaction of my checking account for about 800 dollars, then when I called them and told them that this was done the customer service rep told me that I made that transaction when I know full well I didnt. The customer service rep then had the nerve to chirp at me because I was upset with them. The application is using your email…

The application is using your email without validitation. Also it getsaround messages as pushy feed even you did not send them. Basically you are not able to reach anybody and they do not answer their emails when asking delete profile. So it means in practice stealing identity for commercial purposes, no wonder why it is full of models, they are a good plastic cover for YourTravelMates. This is very unfortunate application. I got it on my newsfeed as a registered user even I never did register nor confirmed nor received confirmation e-mail.

And as someone said "SHAME ON YOU GOOGLE FOR SUPPORTING A SCAM!!!"

I purchased / contributed to purchase one of their luggage (Travelmate S) for USD399.00 back in March 2017. Back then I was living in Singapore. After countless emails to their customer service on follow ups and even my change of address as I now relocated to the UK, plus the fact that it will be 2021 next week, I have yet to see any evidence of this luggage aside from their scam to get people to give them money. I can’t believe this company has gotten away with scamming people and continues to do so. I’ve given up contacting them as they have no number and only an unreliable email address. This company and people behind it should be investigated and charged.

Hello, I made my registration, the site seems to have hired people to send messages all day to the profiles, forums that can only be from image banks and not real people. I bought the credits to reply to 1 person and in a few minutes of text, they managed and opened the window for purchase and I was going to see the value, before purchasing, it is not possible to verify and they charged £118.80 without showing me the value and without I confirm, I automatically pay for the card and I want to receive a refund and not respond, and everything is fake, if there are 10 people like me, they will be deceived by this group paid to send messages and that is embezzlement! Do not enter, my profile will be removed from there. But first I want my money back! Elisa

I can only agree with all the others who has been scammed for a fortune. I joined to find someone that would match with me and all these credits and flowers and the gifts they try to push you into is so unserious. I hope that all these women that allows this sight to show their pictures gets paid well but based on their looks they probably come out of the same mould. Took my just a touch to long to realize and many credits later but now it has come to an end!

They Drag Out The Process For Months! Scam

-Submitted all documents on Nov. 22, 2018 -They love to say "Goal processing time is 30 days" but they know it will take longer -TripMate keeps pushing date back with new random documents needed which they get within 12 hours of request (which they can then claim they restart the 30 days of processing) -Try to call for updates but keep getting waitlisted or put on callback list (all automated, never can get a human on the line initially) -Callbacks take 24 hours before they actually return calls (if they even return it) -I finally get an echeck with a partial refund in March 2019. Summary: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! ITS A SCAM! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! They just wait to see how long they can drag you along before you give up

I purchased credits 2 times, first on July 9th and then on July 13th. Both of the times the credits are not credited in my account. I tried to contact by email and the in house so called live support but no answers. I will wait a few days and if nothing.happens I will review again with a recomandetion to stay awat from rhis site.
