This is a 1964 Aladdin, single axle travel trailer....her name is Miss Molly. She has great bones, solid trailer through and through. No need to tear her down and rebuild, this trailer was well cared for her entire life! Giving the most comprehensive list of details I can think of, so please read the entire listing before asking questions: Clear Oregon titleDry weight is approximately 2150 lbs, with a 150 lbs tongue weight 2” ball size and 7-prong wiring connection 16’3” from bumper to tip of tongue, height from ground is 94”, exterior width is 84” New axle and hubs New trailer tires and rims, new 2” white-wall “Porta-wall” inserts New trailer brakes New exterior paint – prepped, primed and painted with a spray gun (not brushed or rolled on); original aluminum skin does has bumps and bruises here and there but overall a nice straight body on this trailer 2 matching LP gas tanks – all gas lines tested for leaks New roof vent Reflect-o-lite 110-150 (aka “wedding cake”) tail lights in beautiful condition New tear drop clearance lights Windows removed, polished and resealed Original front window awning painted to match Original “rope pull” awning rail is approximately 10’ long, no awning is included Has one baggage compartment to the outside, which opens to the dinette base Dinette at the front of trailer makes into a bed – 38” wide by 80” long Gaucho couch in middle of trailer makes into a bed – 44” wide by 75” long Kitchen has the original turquoise 3-burner stove/oven, two way refrigerator (about 3cuft capacity), and original sink with new drain and new faucet set-up for direct connect (original galvanized holding tank is still in the trailer, but disconnected) Potty room with toilet only – plumbed potty with black water holding tank Large storage closet at the back of the trailer, between kitchen and potty room 4 overhead cabinets – 1 above the sink, 1 above the stove, and large cabinets over couch and dinette Extra storage under dinette seats and couch, and a corner storage cabinet below sink 4 interior 110v lights in main cabin, 1 in potty room Original gas lamp over dinette, in proper working order Entry door has double sliding windows, one up and one down New interior paint – Bher Premium Plus ivory wall color, granite gray shabby chic cabinets - distressed and waxed to seal the paint Original cabinet hardware New kitchen counter top and table, new custom quilted backsplash, new faucet, new plumbing lines New VCT checkerboard flooring – glued, sealed 2x, polished 4x New interior lights in main cabin, original sconce in potty room New FOAMS, vinyl upholstery and curtains I am sure I missed something, so please email with any questions after reading through the entire listing! The ceramic tile floors in the kitchen, living, and bathrooms shine and do not show any signs of cracks or potential damage. All of the detailing in hardwood Cherry cabinetry throughout the coach is in such great condition it attests to the high-quality material and workmanship of Monaco Signature Series Coaches. The owner installed four new air conditioning units within the last two years simple because one was out. While that work was being done, the roof was checked and resealed. There are no leaks and no evidence of leaks. The leather interior ceilings are securely fastened, uniform in color, soft and supple. There is a washer/dryer stacked in the back bathroom that has been used sparingly; it works and looks new. Two-stage engine brakes, power window awnings. Slide-out room topper and two power patio and entrance awnings work perfectly and are in excellent condition. The Aladdin System, GPS, Aqua Hot, 50 amp power cord reel, electric pass-thru storage cargo bay trays, water manifold, power water hose reel, fiberglass roof with a ladder, solar panel, 10K lb. tow capacity upgraded hitch with monitoring and brake system are all showing to be working correctly. A few areas, both on the interior and exterior, show their age. The television compartment has a loose headliner. The seller has said he would address this issue. The bedroom door has a dent and chip at the latch. The A/C vent at the entry door has a broken tab. There is one small reddish stain on the J-Lounge. The generator access door has a minor deformity that does not interfere with its operation. A small chip is next to the exterior storage door under the driver's side window. There is a crack in the exterior below the lower right corner of the curbside bedroom slide. All of these items can be seen in the photo gallery. Stock #365417 2007 HOLIDAY RAMBLER NAVIGATOR 43FST CLASS-A COACH BY MONACO WITH Hydralift Motorcycle Lift! In the RV industry, the Monaco name is synonymous with quality and innovation. This Holiday Rambler Navigator 43FST is no exception. Powered by the Cummins ISX with 525HP and the Allison 4000 MH 6-speed transmission. This is a PRE-DEF Cummins diesel pusher with a side radiator. The Roadmaster Chassis has a full-cushion Air Glide suspension with ten outboard-mounted airbags and ten Bilstein shocks. The chassis also has the Automatic Traction Control system and Tag Axle lifts for improved maneuverability in tight spots. The cockpit features 6-way power seats with electric heat and lumbar support. The driver's seat also has a memory feature. Other driver features include adjustable brake and accelerator pedals. In today's mobile and remote work environment, Navigator was ahead of its time again by providing the optional desk and workstation. If you have looked at other coaches, you will impressed with the high-end appointments and materials used in the Holiday Rambler. This attention to detail is almost non-existent in today's marketplace. The galley has a two-burner cooktop, a double basin sink, a convection microwave, two pantries, a two-door refrigerator with a lower freezer drawer, and an ice maker. Your bath has dual entry, one from the main living area and the other from the master suite. It has a large corner shower with a radius glass door, a large vanity with a three-door mirrored medicine cabinet, and a china toliet. The master suite has a king bed, a washer and dryer combo, two dressers, a large wardrobe, a doored storage closet area, and overhead cabinets. There is also a unique entertainment feature with the dropdown overhead flat-screen television. You will have the Winegard-powered antenna and Dish network satellite. The exterior storage is just as generous as the interior storage. The storage areas are heated and have insulated baggage doors. You will also have pass-through storage with a pullout storage tray. The Navigator has a one-piece crowned fiberglass roof system with non-skid walkways. The three slides have toppers, and the exterior winds have manual window awnings. The curbside has two electric awnings that create a large patio area. Included in the sale is the Hydra-Lift motorcycle lift. Reason for selling is no longer using.

Here's a little throwback to how camping used to be.

Recreational vehicles, camping and family road trips are more popular than ever before in North America and the rest of the world. There is no shortage of unique RVs and other ways to camp out there today.

But we've noticed that some of the retro camping stuff is as relevant today as it ever was.

So, we scoured the internet and found some great photos of vintage camper trailers, RVs and camping photos from all different time periods that should take you back to the days of the original family road trip.

20. Vintage Fifth Wheel

Surprisingly, one doesn't see a lot of vintage fifth-wheel trailers. Their popularity doesn't seem to have really taken off until the last 30 years or so.

19. Dodge Travco

You don't see too many Dodge Travcos on the road these days, which is a shame because this is one sweet-looking vintage motorhome.

18. Wood and Flowerboxes?

This photo has been circulating the internet for years now. This is one crazy, vintage motorhome. We don't even want to think about how much this thing must have weighed. They really did try to build the first totally mobile home with this one.

This thing is awfully bulky and boxy-looking . The gas mileage is probably horrible, but it sure is awesome-looking!

The chrome and red look of this restored vintage travel trailer is just awesome and a real eye-catcher no matter where one's road trip might take them.

This Airflyte Shasta trailer is what often comes to mind when someone says the words "vintage travel trailer." This style is often also referred to as the "canned ham." They've recently been re-releasing these designs due to their overwhelming popularity.

You can't talk about vintage campers without also talking about Winnebago. Check out that air conditioner sticking out the back and the back porch. How cool is that?

10. Roof-top tent

I've seen a few setups like this in campgrounds in recent years, but had no idea the designs were this old. It seems as long as people have enjoyed camping, they've looked for a unique camping experience.

9. Vintage Airstream

In the history of camping perhaps no brand is iconic as Airstream . They've been making trailers since the 1920s and Airstream now has a cult following. Many of the newer Airstream trailers have modern amenities, but the classic look still remains.

8. 1964 Aladdin Travel Trailer

Small, single-axle travel trailers are gaining popularity again these days for their miniature size and light, dry weight. But most people forget they were a big thing back in the 1960s, too. This 1964 Aladdin trailer sure has some cool lines that contribute to its unique look.

7. Volkswagon Bus Camper

Nothing says road trip quite like a VW, especially when it's a VW bus with a pop-up roof like this. We just want to get in and start cruising down the highway to forget our troubles.

This 1957 Mercury travel trailer is another of the classic " canned ham " design. This picture is what a camping trip is all about, getting back to nature and enjoying the wonders of the universe while on the road.

5. Super Old School

It doesn't get much more retro than this. You might laugh, but consider how much of an upgrade this thing probably was over tent camping for most people. Sure, it probably didn't have any hook-ups. But it had storage space. Stuff like this is what helped birth the American road trip. It's an awesome photo and a reminder of how far RVs have come.

4. Apache Pop-Up

Most pop-up campers today feature soft canvas tent sides, but from 1970-86, the Vesley Company made a lot of hard-sided pop-ups called Apaches. Because of the short production run and unusual design , we weren't surprised to discover these trailers now have a small, but dedicated group of fans on the internet.

3. Shasta Astroflyte

One of the more interesting travel trailer designs from the 1960s was the Shasta Astroflyte. It looks like a hybrid of a fifth wheel and a regular travel trailer. Not surprisingly, these are now sought after by collectors for their unique design.

2. Truck Camper

We can't forget about truck campers  on this list, either. RV manufacturers have been making them as long as companies have been making pickups. Just like the Apache pop-ups, truck campers seem to have a cult following on the internet these days, especially the vintage ones.

There is probably no way Airstream, Shasta or any of the old travel trailer makers could have anticipated how popular their designs would still be 50-60 years down the line. Now there are countless trailer clubs and vintage trailer rallies held across the country where enthusiasts come together to celebrate their favorite recreational vehicles.

Vintage RV: 1960’s Aristocrat Travel Trailer

The aristocrat trailer line has a long lineage of history in the rv world.

We are always on the lookout for a trailer fit for an Aristocrat. You know — a trailer that is both classic and luxurious at the same time.

We haven’t come across a vintage Aristocrat Trailer in a while, so we were excited to see this one perched on a sales lot in Kalispell, Montana. 

The founder Irving Perch was a colourful personality doing everything from starting and running a RV company to collecting vintage airplanes, autos and RVs and operating a restaurant called the Flying Lady in Morgan Hill, California.

The Aristocrat trailer line has a long lineage of history in the RV world and here is a little bit of it complements the Tin Can Tourist website:

The Aristocrat was built by I.B. Perch Company in Morgan Hill, Ca, Weiser, Idaho, from 1956-1974.

Irving Perch manufactured Aristocrat trailers in California from 1956 to 1974. The Lo Liner model was called that because one could purchase optional metal wheels to install when storage in a low garage was desired. These smaller wheels lowered the height, as well as the unique “drop axle”. The Lo Liner was sold as a 13′ and a 15′ trailer back then, but licensed as 16′, as the nearest measurement from hitch to tail.

Perch also manufactured a Mainliner, Land Commander, Hi Liner, Lil Loafer, Travelier, Classic, Landmark, Land Liner, Land Star, American Clipper Motor Homes, the Pick-up Partner and an 8 foot RV called “the bug”. The exterior of the Lo-Liner was notable for the large windows on all sides of the trailer. The trailers were extremely well-built with aircraft construction techniques,(metal I beams) and many are still on the road all over North America.

Irv Perlitch (Perch) made his fortune by founding Aristocrat Travel Trailers after moving to Morgan Hill in 1957. Mr. Perch collected unusual antiques such as a 1929 Ford Tri-motor, the first commercial passenger plane to make coast-to-coast flights. In 1969, he sold his successful trailer business to begin work on a 200 acre family resort in Morgan Hill, CA. It was home to his museums of antique cars and airplanes and where he built his Flying Lady Restaurants.”

There was a Canadian division associated with the General Coach Company with manufacturing facilities, at one time, in both Oliver, B.C. and Hensall, Ontario – now defunct.

All About Aloha Vintage Travel Trailers

After purchasing my 1968 Aloha vintage travel trailer a few weeks ago I started to research information on the Web, curious about the brand, year… how others had decorated the inside.   Story of the $200 Vintage Trailer

I was (still am) a bit enamored with my little tin can that I got for a steal… and wanted to know all about her and her history.

The best resource by far was (and is) Tin Can Tourist’s Wiki page : Aloha Travel Trailers .

“Aloha manufactured economic travel trailers from 1954 to 1970. They were a small comapany but quite popular.”

“The smallest trailer they made was 11′ and the largest they manufactured was 28′, at the height of their production in the 1960’s they were making 17-19 trailers a day, had several hundred employees, owned their buildings and even had a night shift to keep up with production.” “The main areas where they sold and marketed their trailers were OR, WA, ID and BC and at one point held 13% of the regional market which was ‘a remarkable amount’ for a small company. Their most popular trailer was the 15′ Beaver.”

“Because they were making their trailers for the NW market they had a few unique characteristics including a larger than normal drip rail and thicker plywood around the wheel wells to help deal with moisture.” “Their biggest technological innovation however was wrapping the framing stringers around the frame so there wasn’t just a box built onto a frame, this resulted in much higher stability than other travel trailers at the time.”

I was born and raised in Seattle, WA and also learned that Aloha trailers were sold in mass and used as extra housing for the over-load of tourists that descended upon the city during the 1962 Worlds Fair.

An easy way to search for photographs of anything on the web is to do a Google search and then click on ‘Images’ (default setting is ‘Web’).

What an amazing deal! We just bought your exact same trailer today for $600! We are so excited to fix her up! It is in great structural condition and I am just trying to redo to enterior to fit our family. I’m curious, did yours come with wallpaper? Ours has wallpaper covering almost entire enterior and painted white. We started peeling it to discover beautiful birch underneath. So now I’m trying to strip it all off. How is yours going???

That is an awesome deal as well! Mine was just really dirty, took weeks to clean and had a dried out bee hive attached to front window – obviously had been sitting for a long time. I had panneling on walls, not sure what type of wood but that original light-grey color. I painted the whole trailer to clean it up and give it some color (soft yellow/white/blue-green).

On the ceiling not sure what the nice wood (again, thin paneling but very newish) that had wallpapper. Ended up with a fun ‘splash’ painted yellow/white ceiling as was going to use burlap then it was just way too dusty to put up but now loved how it turned out, is funky and fun.

I have some paint touch-ups left and a new futon to buy but have done all the painting (saved original hinges and handles that I did not like then looked awesome with the new paint – score! The floor is the original linoleum, stove orignal Trav’ler (olive color) and works, removed ice box (trashed) to find a hole behind on the lower part of trailer – LOL – easy repair.

Has been fun, I love the trailer, going to put up a bunch of pages on blog about what I did when is finished.

Would be fun to interview you too about what you are doing etc. if you want! I want to see pics!!!

Hi there molly great find i have too alohas one is a 1955 compact and the other is 1955 15 foot.both need restoring.my 15 foot i payed 575 for my compact 950. Looking too sell my compact for 500 if you know any one interested. Love theys trailers i live in portland oregon.

I loved that little trailer, had to sell her so could help my son get into an apartment for college. Made a little profit, so that was awesome but I did do a ton of work getting her cleaned and cutened up so isn’t like I made a ton of cash. We got to travel in her for a few months, she towed awesome and was nice to have to relax in.

I think for my next trailer project it is going to be a newer model, maybe even a truck camper (I’m a big baby when it comes to towing) – mainly as I may want to stay put in places off and on and it is harder to do that with an older camper.

I just bought an 18′ 1967 aloha, but I need a new door and a couple windows. Any suggestions on where I can find them?

Sorry Brooke, I missed this! I had to replace our door (was not cheap, over $800 as it was custom built) – Camping World did the repair and were great. Windows I don’t know, I’d search online as there are suppliers for some parts, and of course you can always custom order windows to fit the trailer.

Craigslist is excellent – especially if you live near any major city but even in small towns you should get responses, many search the site for statewide listings, other states, etc.

Also – there is a facebook group called ‘Glampers on the Loose’ – and these folks are always looking for trailers to buy, if the price is fair.

Be sure to post there, or send me the info and I can post it for you!

We just bought a 1964, 16′ Aloha trailer. Very cute. Oven has never been cooked in. All the flooring and counter tops r perfect. Sink is (pink) yuck.. lol. Going to Soda blast the outside paint and polish the Aluminum. Were pulling it behind our Hot Rod for car shows.

I have a 63 11’aloha that I was given and need to redo it appears as if the paneling was mailed to the studs and not the studs nailed too the paneling from the out side like I have seen on video, is that true?

Have no clue LOL. I just cutened up mine (paint, etc.) – did not need any major repairs. There are a bunch of Aloha groups on Facebook, for sure check those out and I am sure someone can help you. Best, Molly

Hi there, Not knowing if you are still out there, I still want to thank you for starting Aloha. We have a 1962 Aloha King 15’3 ft And am wondering if you know if the tongue weight of it is. Ive seen the trailer weight as being 1,690 and trailer hitch ( tongue?) weight of 180lbs. We finished restoring it and are now staring to enjoy the heck out of it . I just love it! if you know of any other Aloha information I would love to know where I can get it.
