The crowd were on their feet as Beverley Knight brought her '50' tour to the Liverpool Philharmonic.
After celebrating her fiftieth birthday in March, Beverley Knight is embarking on her biggest UK tour to celebrate the milestone and a career spanning three decades. The Queen of British soul brought her '50' tour to the Liverpool Philharmonic on Thursday, November 2 and had the crowd on their feet from the first song.
From the get-go, fans were taken back in time and treated to some of Beverley Knight's biggest hits. She kicked off the night with 'Greatest Day' from her 1998 album, Prodical Sista, before telling the delighted Liverpool crowd "you look glorious".

She then continued with another hit from Prodical Sista, 'Made It Back.' Before her third song of the night, Beverley Knight told the crowd: "It's so good to be back here, I love it. The best accent in Britain."
As she made her way through her back catalogue spanning almost 30 years, it was hard not to be completely blown away by her. Her vocals were faultless.
There were many moments throughout the night were the crowd were left completely mesmerised. As she sang 'Gold' - effortlessly - the crowd fell silent, clearly blown away by the magnitude of her talent.
She had the crowd in the palm of her hand and clapping along as she belted out, 'I'm on Fire' accompanied by the incredible vocals of her three backing vocalists. She then took fans on a trip down memory lane with arguably her biggest hit, 'Shoulda Woulda Coulda.'
Seemingly having no plans to slow the night down, Beverley Knight performed covers of 'I'm Every Woman' and 'I Wanna Be Your Lover' - a fitting finish to a night of music nostalgia.

Soulful spectacle: beverley knight’s ’50’ tour takes liverpool by storm.
The Liverpool Philharmonic was set ablaze as the Queen of British soul, Beverley Knight, brought her ’50’ tour to the city Thursday just gone. Celebrating her fiftieth birthday in March, Knight’s UK tour not only marks a significant personal milestone, but also acknowledges a career spanning over three glorious decades.
So, who is she for those of you who aren’t familiar? Beverley Knight is a British soul icon, celebrated for her extraordinary vocal prowess and her profound influence on the soul music scene. Born in Wolverhampton, England, in 1973, Knight’s musical journey began at an early age, eventually leading her to the forefront of the British music industry. She has since firmly established herself as one of the finest soul singers of her generation. Hailed for her powerful and emotive voice, Knight’s extensive discography boasts chart-topping hits and critically acclaimed albums, solidifying her status as the current “Queen of British Soul.”
Beverley Knight is a revered figure in the genre and a source of inspiration for aspiring artists, especially those with voices like a full force gale. Liverpool’s music lovers flocked to witness a spellbinding performance by Knight at the wonderful Philharmonic Hall, and boy was this party city out for fun! Treated to an electrifying array of Knight’s chart-topping hits, the evening began with the soulful anthem ‘Greatest Day’ from her 1998 album, ‘Prodigal Sista,’ setting the tempo for a night of stand-up revelry. Addressing the delighted audience, Knight couldn’t help but exclaim, “You look glorious!” So, in all honesty, did she for a woman recently turned fifty – she looks twenty years younger and gym-nimble, even breaking into dance routines made famous in the 90s!
With ‘Made It Back,’ another gem from ‘Prodigal Sista,’ Knight continued to mesmerise the packed house, her powerful voice filling every inch of this expansive hall. Expressing her love for the city, she declared, “It’s so good to be back here; I love it. The best accent in Britain,” before effortlessly belting ‘Gold,’ showcasing the magnitude of her talent. With the notably harmonious addition of her three talented backing vocalists, Knight delivered a stirring performance of ‘I’m on Fire,’ before the gig’s pinnacle came with a trip down memory lane. Knight treated the crowd to what is arguably her biggest hit, ‘Shoulda Woulda Coulda,’ and the roof lifted along with the entire crowd.
With no intention of slowing down, Knight closed with breathtaking covers of Chaka Khan’s ‘I’m Every Woman’ and Prince’s ‘I Wanna Be Your Lover,’ offering a fitting and epic conclusion to a nostalgic night of musical celebration. It was all a surprise to me if I’m honest – I went on a whim, not knowing what to expect or just how talented Knight actually was. No wonder it was a sell-out crowd, and no wonder this powerhouse vocalist continues to go from strength to strength. Her humility was typical of most Wulfrunians – and the spirit in her music undeniable.
A great discovery for me, albeit late! Beverly Knight is on tour for a while yet, so catch her and her outstanding band for a night of high octane joy!

I’ve always wondered why Beverley Knight has never become a true superstar…and I’ve come up with nothing. The Wolverhampton-born soul diva has a voice that could knock down a wall from one hundred yards away has the pipes, the stage presence and the song writing talent to have become the UK’s version of Beyonce or Whitney, yet she’s never quite done it. Of course, Knight has countless Brit Award nominations and MOBO Award wins but where are her string of number one singles that should have come after killer albums The B-Funk and Prodigal Sista in the late 1990s? I have no idea! Live, you’ll have caught her at festivals and solo gigs up and down the country, in session on various radio stations and on TV with Jools and it’d be a hard heart that would tire of Knight belting out ‘Shoulda Woulda Coulda’ like it’s a lost soul classic and the independent woman spirit of ‘Made It Back’, a song that shows Knight wouldn’t give up her dream without a fight. You’re as likely these days to catch Beverley treading the boards in roles seemingly made for her in musicals The Bodyguard and Memphis. Wherever you find her, you’ll be blown away by that timeless voice.

Wow, what a night! My best mate and i went to see Beverley's 25th anniversary concert at the royal festival hall and she did not dissapoint. She sang a massive variety of hits from across her fantastic 25 year career including from the musicals she stared in. At every concert of hers i've been too she just puts her everything into every note. I heartily recomend you go and see her if you ever get the chance because you will get way more than your moneys worth with Beverley and my mate and i will going to her concerts as long shes still singing and we're still able. Wow Beverley, you rock!
This was simply sensational show and performance by Beverley Knight, the venue was perfect for it to celebrate 25 years. She’s definitely a must see and plus this was recorded for a DVD and live CD as well being streamed live on BBC Radio 2 as well . My husband absolutely love it for his pre wedding gift .
What can I say Beverley is some performer she puts her heart and soul into all her performances and is the ultimate professional. She has a fantastic soulful voice and anybody going to see her won't be disappointed.
Absolutely brilliant night. Was on my feet from start to finish her voice was incredible would see her again and again. Anyone who hasn't seen her performer you are missing out!
