Can you tell us more about what the symptoms are? You may very well already be aware of it of course, but if the cruise buttons have stopped working, you might have a broken clockspring - which is a safety issue because it can cause the driver airbag to become inoperable. There is a recall on that issue. - G
Hi, Accel/resume button don't "click" others work Ok. Airbag light off, so it seems to work also ok.
Accel/resume works, but there is no "touch" without clicks.. :jpshakehe So need probably only instructions how to do?
Just remove the airbag assembly and then unplug the offending switch and remove the screws holding it to the cover. You already have the first step, disconnect the battery. As you can see, the airbag is held with three bolts, 8 mm heads if memory serves. You don't even need to unplug everything, just hold the assembly horizontally, then carefully rotate to see the back side. To unclip the connector, it helps to have a miniature screwdriver or thin long-nose pliers. Also have a Phillips screwdriver ready, for the switch itself.
TAKE CARE ! Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnecting the battery negative cable before trying to remove the airbag. The arming system includes a capacitor which will store electricity, removing the airbag before that capacitor is fully discharged could trigger the device. DO NOT allow any source of electricity, including static, near the inflator on the back of the module. Ensure that when the airbag module is removed, the padded side is facing away from you, and place it on the bench/ground with the padded side facing upwards. Apart from that, enjoy !
